Years ago we were on a long weekend ride away from home, about 150 miles out. We get to a stop sign on the trail and a red bogie wheel rolls up to the fellow in front of me. I could see his head bobbing up and down with every cuss word in the universe. He reaches down, looks at it and reads Bombardier! There's only one in our pack. "Bruce, I believe this is yours". We were all on Polaris. Lol.
Awesome watching these fun mechanic vids of yours.👍I'll call Pete "Master Yoda"😁 My nephew borrowed my TundraLT I had stored... never brought it back till somehow water got into the fuel and he brought it back. Fixed it, then asked to borrow it again, oh well most of the time he hauls wood with it.😁
Ive been riding a 2004 700 XC SP for the last 3 seasons... I love this sled... She dangles... with a backcountry track! Just wanna say... replace your waterpump belt... after 20years... its service life is way done... mine broke last week... Cheers from Quebec City
Yeah the steering has to be loosened off to get the damn box out, I wrecked the bearing behind my secondary this winter from not enough grease and be damned if I'm gonna pull all of it apart in frozen Canadiana lol, blackfly season here I come
I have this same exact sled in color blue but a 500 and VES. I've well Maintained mine and it's in really nice shape. Everything works and it's a ripper and very fun. I installed 177 big boy torsion springs due to sagging and I'm a heavy guy.... rides much better and sits nice and high now. Rides much better now too. Also, I removed all shocks and had rear fox shocks and front shocks all rebuilt. Can't wait for part 2 of this video!! Nice video man!!
Those 700 big blocks are some bad ass motors. I have a 98 in my 2000 RMK and loads of power! Imo one of the best motors from polaris. As far as your shootout, I have my money on the polaris out of the hole, SRX will walk them past 100mph.
Check out my 01 xc 700. That one in your video will put a hurting on that zrt 600 and doo. The only sled that will beat that i your lineup for the race is a well tuned srx700. But those sleds ride like total garbage and that xc would leave it in the dust on everything except a straight line on a lake. The edge chassis are the best chassis polaris ever made for its low slung chassis with 12" of rear suspension along with a low center of gravity for the rider. Youd love that sled if you ride it
Love the 98 to 2002 Yamaha SRX 700 and the 600. I have a 2002 700 and they are still one of the fastest in straight line and lol you just showed the people that want to steal sleds how to do it easy now lol
Absolutely love your channel very entertaining & informative! Plus I agree BUY A YAMAHA!!!! My 98 SRX700 is a rippper and has never let me down! Keep up the fantastic work and I'm looking forward to what you do next.
Wish I had the luck you guys do on finding sleds I just want one so bad but 7yrs waiting for surgeries and no cash flow hard to get a sled 😢would love to learn how to repair them
Hi Pete! It’s your old friend and neighbour Tom. I saw your show a little while back. Congrats on the channel! Hope you and the family are doing well. We’ll have to get together soon. Keep up the good work!
I would love to see a triple 6 take on a big block 7. I know my 600 runs with the 700 Yamaha until the very tip top end and my buddy slowly walks away. 3" of snow on a lake and we just let'em eat🤪
the airbox was designed that way for the 800 xcr triple but they lost 5mph on the top end when going to the edge chassis. So the triple stayed in the gen 2 platform.
That engine is designed to run champion rn57ycc. It will run the best with that ignition. Ngks are junk unless they are solid tops but even then they dont run well in this application
Love your vids and a little late on this one, but when you sprayed the oil valves on the carbs those should not let any liquid through unless they have 3-5ft lbs of pressure. The valve where carb cleaner shot straight through is bad and could allow oil to slowly leak into the carb and motor.
Another great video Pete 👍. Nothing like the old machines. Not a big Polaris fan lol. I love the old yamaha's . I have a 2000 yamaha Venture great old dependable snowmobile.
If you go to Princes Auto you can get spark testers that go right in the plug wire and the plug. When you pull it over it will light the tool up. Also I have a 94 yamaha mountain max and I can only get about 30 miles out of a tank. Any ideas on why.
Late to the party I know, but a little tip for you. Those 2000's vintage Polaris sleds only have 5 variations of key. I don't know the range of years, but if you look at the key there will be 1 to 5 dots on it above the Polaris name. You can buy all 5 keys online and just have them on a ring for when someone drops a sled of that vintage off for work.
Run ethonal free fuel in them for peak performance.& output reactions. Or you could go all out with Marvel mystery oil.& some gum out octane booster into your fuel mixtures with.,or with out 2 cycle oil permixed together.,or in separate containers to mounted on the those snowmobiles y'all have there. Good luck with them.
Hi enjoy your videos .I notice you been referring your sxr as a srx two totally different engines in power unless you swaped it I’m new to your channel just was wondering why you call it a srx
lol I have a srx and the co op kid has a sxr...so...yeah I just get them mixed up all the time lol it doesn't help that they are all blue and white too 🤣🍻.
What would you recommend I keep my eye out for a 10 acre field and bush runner? I've only really toyed with the old 340 and 440 fans. Anything cheap from the 90's I could scoop up?
I have an 800xc that I just got and the secondary clutch has quite a bit of in an out play “float” maybe 3/16 or so. What is a normal amount and is this fixed by shimming ?
man i cant believe that it is so easy to pull an ignition to get it running. unreal. i wonder if there was any anti theft device that could stop that? still good to know.
Ate ur words on that Slug arctic cat lol Those things are tanks and they handle like crap. Arctic Crap more like it, at least w Ski Doo u know they all pop at 5,000 miles. I love my MXZ 700 2000, just rebuilt top end, clutch cleaned, new belt, new track it's like it was in 2000. Not a huge fan of all these " stand up " sleds. Not against great suspension just like the comfort and style of that era, my 1997 Mach Z is a beautiful thing, heavy not. Great trail sled, but I live on Oneida Lake sooooo Brrrrp to the next stop, last one there buys and it's never me
I swear studding the track on your sled cuts its life in half.. So many bad things can happen when maintenance is deferred on a studded machine vs no studs
champions are more foul resistant than ngk any day lol.. sometimes cheap is better! Don't ask me why .. Proven from years of running old decerped shitboxes lol!!
Its bad enough you run the machines without a belt, with no fear of an exploding clutch, you really let somebody stick their hands in a clutch while its running? Absolute idiocy.
One of THE Best channels on UA-cam!
thank you!! 🍻
fast and simple diagnostics.. gotta love the early 2000 machines! and they're fast!
Years ago we were on a long weekend ride away from home, about 150 miles out. We get to a stop sign on the trail and a red bogie wheel rolls up to the fellow in front of me. Found your channel about 2 weeks ago. Subbed. Very entertaining while being knowledgeable and fixing things.
thanks 🍻

thanks! and cheers Quebec city 🍻
Wow! That's one of them Limited Edition Polaris 700 XC models where XC stands for "Extra (UA-cam) Content", well hot dang, it's gonna be a series!👍
lol thanks 🍻...xc=Xtra content....lmao 🤣 gonna use that!! Nice One!!!
It is really hard to find vids of the old 400,440,488, and 500 twin indy wedges
That's an awesome sled, love my Polaris Xc 700
That's great 👍 there's going to be part 2 . Really enjoy your videos... Great therapy for me... Have a good day....
I run a black 02 xcsp and I love that last generation of trailing arm sleds.
Yeah the steering has to be loosened off to get the damn box out, I wrecked the bearing behind my secondary this winter from not enough grease and be damned if I'm gonna pull all of it apart in frozen Canadiana lol, blackfly season here I come

I have a 2003 500 VES, just getting back into sledding. I was surprised at the power for a 500.
16:40 Yeah that hoodie drawstring was way worse than the sleeves. Anytime I was threading pipe on a Ridgid 300 every hoodie drawstring was removed.
I like these guys!
Absolutely beautiful

Agreed
I like the green tape 😂, this kinda stuff makes me wanna, get my untra spx on the trails, old muscle, heavy as hell, and corners like a tank lol 😆
I like you Pete straight forward and trying to look at the bright side of the mess you're looking at 😅.
That's a 2001 just like mine!! I got 103mph. Lots of work but worth the time.
Love this channel Pete, always interesting and entertaining
thank you! I really appreciate it 🍻
Dude, I love this channel because you crack me up! And, you're actually a pretty decent mechanic. I love the content.. keep up the Great work!
lol glad you like the channel! 🍻
Yes. Part 2 please
Track is like Keith Richards liver, seen better days, nice one, great video.
lol thanks 🍻

That track is like Keith Richards liver had me on the floor laughing my ass off!!! Love the channel keep em coming eh!!!
lol thanks! 🍻
Hah, I always love hearing peoples strange names for a crescent wrench. "The old adjustable" is a new one to me, usually it's a " socket set".
Hammer
Really enjoy your videos Pete.
thanks 🍻
Did the same with the 2001 and you wouldn't believe how much better that clutch grabbed after I did the bear-tex
Love the 98 to 2002 Yamaha SRX 700 and the 600. I have a 2002 700 and they are still one of the fastest in straight line and lol you just showed the people that want to steal sleds how to do it easy now lol
Hell yeah good timing man!
I got one last weekend for 800.00
Hasn't run since 06,got it running next day,needs a little work,but quick!!
Absolutely love your channel very entertaining & informative! Plus I agree BUY A YAMAHA!!!! My 98 SRX700 is a rippper and has never let me down! Keep up the fantastic work and I'm looking forward to what you do next.

You should find an old ski doo tundra
Hey, that's what I've got
the airbox was designed that way for the 800 xcr triple but they lost 5mph on the top end when going to the edge chassis. So the triple stayed in the gen 2 platform.
Lots of in correct information

That thing is puffy! As all the other sleds.
I am curious. I have been and still am a devout Artic Cat fan, I want to see the shootout.
If you go to Princes Auto you can get spark testers that go right in the plug wire and the plug. When you pull it over it will light the tool up. Also I have a 94 yamaha mountain max and I can only get about 30 miles out of a tank. Any ideas on why.
Good shoot out
nothin' wrong with that gas cap !! it's vented !! LOL
When removing the belt, try holding the brake and pull up and back on the belt. It works great, most of the time.
What way is back?
New sub love your channel I see it growing pretty quick so hello from Minnesota
thank you 🍻

Cant wait for part two of this video that tunnel looked rough as hell those studs s
Did there number on that sled
Nice score
Dont know if its like the 1990s sleds but artic cat keys will fit a polaris also,
Hey bud. Really enjoying your videos. Keep it up.
Cheers 🍻
thanks 🍻
I always felt like polaris engineering started in an old barn on the back forty...🤪🤪🤣😂
“Don’t try this at home especially if you been in the bud lights” 😂 to late
Absolutely agree me neither LOL.
Hey there Pete my name is Jon I just picked up a 2000 Polaris xc700 Indy sp are they a good sled
yessir! they work really good! as long as they've been maintained well that is lol 🍻
It took scooter 5 years to forget why it was parked in the barn and left for dead. Looks like old scooter was having a good time on this 700
where abouts are you located? I got an old triple that doesnt really wanna start too well, hasnt been sitting for a while
Great saying there Pete.😅
Hi enjoy your videos .I notice you been referring your sxr as a srx two totally different engines in power unless you swaped it I’m new to your channel just was wondering why you call it a srx

I live down the street from woody's
What would you recommend I keep my eye out for a 10 acre field and bush runner? I've only really toyed with the old 340 and 440 fans. Anything cheap from the 90's I could scoop up?
Beer won't make you smart but it made Bud Weiser.
🤣🍻
I have an 800xc that I just got and the secondary clutch has quite a bit of in an out play “float” maybe 3/16 or so. What is a normal amount and is this fixed by shimming ?
Oh my f****** mess I can't believe you do this s*** LOL
Hope you don't dislocate your shoulder trying to start it. I should know because I have a 700 xc deluxe
lol the shoulder is all good 🤣 she's a one pull wonder now! 🍻

New track and skid and u be ripping
I have a couple sleds you can work on

you guys are great nice one!
You put break cleaner to fire it up ?! lol
man i cant believe that it is so easy to pull an ignition to get it running. unreal. i wonder if there was any anti theft device that could stop that? still good to know.

That's why she ripped before she blows her teeth out 🤣
I enjoy the content brother. But you sound like bubbles from trailer park boys.
I made it about 3 minutes ..between your voice the laugh talking and the finger in the camera I had to shut it down
Everything under the hood of a pull-your-ass is a cobbled up afterthought! I wouldn't own a free one!
You are right buy Yamaha same year
Запилите видео про 600 iq turig 2007г. У нас про них информации нет.
It's a 2 stroke motor..stop shooting carb clean down the heads..there's no oil in that start up, great way to score your cylinders lol
3 minutes into it and y’all clearly do not know how fast those Liberty twin 700’s are
Hey let’s go EAGLES !
I swear studding the track on your sled cuts its life in half.. So many bad things can happen when maintenance is deferred on a studded machine vs no studs
getting famous off of comments day 1
Obviously someone put the wrong track on it with studs
Tuck your strings in too
Buy a Yamaha and cancel the gym membership 🤣😂
champions are more foul resistant than ngk any day lol.. sometimes cheap is better! Don't ask me why .. Proven from years of running old decerped shitboxes lol!!
Need some different suds...
You should never start a sled with no belt, NEVER
Its bad enough you run the machines without a belt, with no fear of an exploding clutch, you really let somebody stick their hands in a clutch while its running? Absolute idiocy.
LOL can't stand you voice so not interested.
lol I'd say sorry but it sounds like you don't want to hear it 🤣 🍻
Lol you must be buddy if you take the time to comment!
