When "More Than a Feeling" comes on I close my eyes and I slip away to a better and more simple life. I love Boston. Tom is a musical genius and Brad had the most wonderful voice. Will never be forgotten.
I was so young 18. Stationed in phil. Shipyards. Someone told me I should go and give them a listen. I did. I was blown away. it was such a solid concert. it was 1978. Brad was at the edge of the stage signing autographs. he ask me if I wanted one I said yeah sure. and I added I wanna go back stage with those guys. I told me to stand by him. I did. and he took me back stage. what a blast. the Spectrum became my house. I went to so many concerts. but Boston was the greatest. Brad will always have a place in my heart. he got my address. and said he would keep in touch. He wrote to me about fourteen times while I was overseas.(navy seal) it took awhile for the Letters to get to me. but he was Genuine in each and every one. Not one other rock star ever did this for me. we kept in touch over the years and hearing this by accident it has taken me back to when rock was rock. I miss it. I miss friend Brad. Love you Brother. my son was named after him.
donnie m Beautiful story friend, I wish I could have met Brad. I loved this Band from the first note I heard from the first Album. You can always tell that Brad had the biggest Heart and loved not just his fans but everyone as a person in general. I'm 48 now and when I heard of his death it really hurt my heart, I felt like taking my own life after that. I too suffer from depression but I don't really know what or why he did what he did it for. I think sometimes we just get a broken heart and it makes it very hard to go on. Anyway, I love your story. God Bless you and continue to enjoy your life! You had a once in a lifetime chance to meet someone who actually cared about and loved everyone he met. Oh, and oh how he could Rock it!!!!!!! I can sit here and not think of a better front man for a band! I will miss him forever and when we get to the other side I hope he is there and I can finally meet him myself. Take care of you friend, I wish you a house full of family to drive you crazy and keep you happy the rest of your life!Don Tacy
Boston's music is unquestionably a style of music that will never be duplicated, will never grow old and will never have an equal--it's the kind of music that will live on, forever! My 9 year old daughter thinks they're awesome, and she's right! Thank you Boston for your musical contribution!
Such a underrated band! How do you not get goosebumps to that Guitar sound and vocals! Kids today have no idea what they missed back then. I enjoyed every minute of it. I am old now and don't get today's music and it sucks. RIP the great rock bands of the 70's and 80's.
+TVWXMAN32 I agree with everything you say except they are not underrated. They have sold over 31 million albums in the US, one of which went 17x Platinum, one went 7x Platinum, one went 4x Platinum, and another went 1x Platinum. I say they are rated
+TVWXMAN32 Brother you ain't kidding. I quit listening to new bands back in 2000. This century can't offer anything close musically to what we enjoyed in the US and Europe from 1957-2000 and in particular from 1965-1992 before the 2nd counterculture movement that taught the stupid kids how to be angry and politically correct. These bands today have no concept of how to write a good rock song about cruising in a car, looking for girls, or just plain having a good time. No one young wants to hear those kinds of tunes anyway. God bless the bands of the 70's and 80's that are still out there doin' it for poeple like me!
+TVWXMAN32 : I would definitely wouldn't say Boston was ever underrated, in the 70's they were really big, one of the top bands, and when "Third Stage" was released in 1986, it went over pretty darn big because we Boston fans waited so long for new music, and I don't know about you, but they DID NOT disappoint! But...if they were underrated, then count me in on being a fan of the underrated. Rock on man!
auburnrea you took the words right out of my mouth-I couldn't have said it better in such a few sentences. My kids are 25 and 26, I always ask them what new music or band is good to listen to. Since they like "our " music themselves because I played it for them while they were growing up, they grew to love it, and they never have any new bands to recommend. Mind you, this is their real feeling about today's music-not to just please me.
I love how bands like this keep it professional. No crazy faces like it's hard to reach a note. Just a bunch of guys rocking out. These are the real people to respect.
saw them in concert in 1987 on Third Stage tour. They played every song off all 3 albums by the time they finished 3 encors. What impressed me most was that they didn't stop between songs. They played those long musical interludes to segway between songs. So we got to hear never recorded Boston music.
@Chuck Lee I also saw Boston on this tour, at the Hartford Civic Center. I also noticed that they played every song from their three albums. A fan could not have asked for anything more. I definitely left that show feelin’ satisfied.
My wife and I seen this concert tour in Edmonton in 1988. It was the first time I had seen Boston. I was introduced to them by my older brother when he just bought the first album. He was blown away at the different sound ( from Led Zeppelin etc rock bands of the era), and so was I. I was only 14 then but of course interested in anything new such as this. Of course this led to a following and a passion for their music, to this day. It is a great loss to everyone that ever had anything to do with Brad Delp which is a lot of people. He will, and is, greatly missed by all who new him and new his voice. RIP Brad Delp!
Fuck I miss Brad, Boston/Boston was the first album I ever bought in the mid 70's and it forever shaped my musical taste. I just wish I could see the original lineup just one more time. One of the greatest bands ever.........
saw the original band in 1977, Barry & Tom would trade off licks and have guitar duels, I remember Tom Playing the intro to Long Time wearing a cape then leaping onto the bottom of the stage with his gold top les paul..I loved the original line-up ..Fran Sheehan put down a great groove w/ Sib..
You're right!! His kind of voice was one of a kind. It seems that guys have a hard time with quality tone in their voice. This guy Brad had it all. Man, imagine writing music for a voice like that?!!!! Wow
@@dennisking3975 You write Dennis? Tough to get in with creative band mates all with same musical path. Pretty great musicians there, all of them willing to work together without ego.. Brad lucked out in with them or his vocal ability would of never been realized.
That was.......A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!! Loved this SO much! Thank you for making my WEEK! Am so in love with Bradley Delp and THAT VOICE! Holy Crap! Dude......Such a HUGE loss. What a golden voice, an amazing man, and crazy sexy guy......Depression is a F****R,
I am so greatful that i have grown up with the sound and the awesome talents of all the members of Boston.I dont know any of them on a personal basis but i have watched almost every video and concert ever recorded.I am sure that i speak for all the Boston fans in Arkansas when i say that it would be an honor and a privalige to see you in concert at one of our arenas in the state.Thank you so much for the awesome music you have given us through the years.
I came to Boston in 1976 to go to college (Boston U.) and the sound of "Boston" was all over. Still love it...in NY now, but Boston, band and city, has my heart....
One of the best arena rock bands.Love the good old fashioned sound of this show. Saw them at the Sportorium in Pembroke pines Florida on this tour. Thanks to whoever recorded and released this show.
Rock music seems to have hit it's peak in terms of the playing, singing, songwriting and production in the 70's and 80's. This was perfection and now it's all gone. There will always be hit songs that touch people because of lyrical content but this was the glory days and apex of melodic hard rock. For those of us that lived through it, no other music will ever come close.
Just because you've stopped paying attention to new music doesn't mean Rock is dead or that it's not as good as it was. As a young musician I find that rather insulting honestly. Yes, great rock no longer dominates the charts like it once did and there's a lot of stale, uncreative, awefulness that is all over popular music now and that is regrettable, but great music is still out there. There are also still many young musicians, like myself, who are taking ques from the great bands of the Classic Rock era. You just have to put in some effort to find them. There are still some great modern rock bands both on the local scenes and professional curcuit. For example there is a band called Rival Sons who are FANTASTIC. Did you know about them? I'm guessing not, cause you didn't care to look. I'm really tired of reading comments from old boomers complaining that old music is better and new music sucks. Have you tried looking? Do you actively seek out new music and look deeper than just what's on TV and Radio? I'm guessing not. I'm 28 and I LOVE Boston (in my top 5 of all time!) and the Classic Rock of the 60s and 70s, but there is still a lot of great music that has happened since then. If you look you will find it.
I am sorry, but if you think he IS hitting the high notes then you are deaf sir. Don 't get me wrong; I am a big fan but he 's not hitting the high notes a lot.... But then again, when playing live who does?
Thanks for the video, This band was one of the greatest bands . they had problems but at the end of all there lawsuits they did great. Brad Delp has or had one of the greatest voices I have ever heard. Bravo to you for the upload......
I absolutely LOVE this concert and the way they move from one song to another with no breaks!! I've got my headphones on and enjoying every second. Thank you so much for uploading this. An A+ rating for Boston 1988.
In the music realm, these guys are simply historic in their performance. they did it their own way, and no one has done it any better after all these years.
Saw this lineup of Boston at the last Texas Jam in 1988, They were fantastic! Depression is a disease in my family, never take it lightly or judge someone as being weak for having it, reach out and help! RIP.. Mr Delp!! T RAD
Thank you so very much for posting this!!!! Finished watching it for about the tenth time BRAD FOREVER MY DAD (who played the first album all the time in front of me as a very young kid) FOREVER BOSTON MUSIC FOREVER AWESOME TIMELESS!!!!
I saw Boston on this tour in Philly. I was coming back from my annual National Guard training in Virginia. Got off the bus in Kutztown, changed, hopped right in my car and headed straight to the show. What a night. RIP Brad.
I saw this concert in Hartford Connecticut in 1987 I was 17, Boston was probably my favorite band I loved brad Delp he had a incredible voice I was very sad when he passed away I don't know why somebody with such talent would do what he did
Boston one of my fav bands, and I thank you for sharing & posting. However, it looks like they had a pacing issue in this concert performance, Brab Delp's singing, though, is simply flawless!
Really wish I'd gone to see this concert, I always loved Boston. From this video u can tell they really sounded great Live, Pure Talent !!!! Thanks for posting !
Thankyou to the person that recorded this so the whole world can enjoy Brad delp !!! You are a genius for doing this thankyou for taking the time to record this footage
Brad was the shit ,as was Tommy S. they are Boston. Fill in the players. Yes I am old enough to say I took this album home the day it came out. I was so amazed that, recording had became that. Amazing. And look at now. May they all be blessed for the very best of that time. R>I>P> Brad
when bostons first album came out i was 12 years old and i am 50 now. i have enjoyed bostons hard rock sound for decades. thanks for putting this on youtube.
Roger Blohm Can't believe how powerful Brad's vocals are and his backup singers' vocals also - just hearing them on the album - I can't appreciate them until I hear them live!!!!
Thanks so much. I have always regretted Not being able to see this tour back in 88 . Thanks to you I can crank my headphones and relive what should have been. It's uploads like this that make UA-cam something special . Thanks a million.
It makes you question if Rock music has ever got any better as the years went by. This must have been the apex of this style. Boston, a great combination of tallent, especial Tom & Brad. Thanks for this posting.
RIP Brad Delp This is arguably when the band was at its peak--Third Stage is a masterpiece. Going to see them on their 2014 tour in June! Still an incredible experience to hear these guys live in concert--very minimalist type of show, but it doesn't even matter when the music is this incredible.
I was lucky enough to catch the original band on their tour to support their first album back in 1976. What a tragic ending to such a good singer Brad Delph. Can't imagine feeling that suicide is the only way out of problems, but he's not the first nor the last to feel that way. I'll always remember those extreme high notes he sang and will always be known for.
Saw the Third Stage tour in 1987 and still have the shirt. Proud to say that it still fits, too! Boston has always been the pinnacle rock band for me, and I continue to mourn the death of Brad Delp. I wish someone could have helped him in his time of darkness. He meant so much to many of us. I hope he knows that he was and still is greatly loved. RIP.
@@AnthonyL0401 I saw them there, too! Brad Delp saved my life. He saw I was getting crushed by the crowd that was pushing me into the barrier at the foot of the stage. He went over to a roadie and told them to pull me over into that 'moat' around the stage. I'm sure I would have been trampled otherwise. They stopped doing the standing room only on the main floor of the Dome after that.
@@trinaprice2009 I was there end of July. They also had a show in August. What a cool trip up to Tacoma Dome. I won tickets and bus trip in a radio contest in Portland (Q105).
Saw this Third Stage Tour, Worcester Centrum 1987 where they sold-out nine consecutive shows in their home State. Last great massive Boston Tour even though originals Goudreau, Sheehan, and Sib Hashian were booted out by Scholtz in the early 80's. Boston never returned to stardom after the North American Third Stage Tour 1987-88.
I was lucky enough to see Boston a couple of times, got to stand on stage during one show. Longest standing ovation i ever witnessed was when they did the introductions and when they got to Tom, had to be a good five minutes or more of the crowd just screaming their collective heads off, amazing moment in time, I will never forget.
I saw the “Third Stage” tour at the Omni in Atlanta in 87....one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen some damn good Rock/Metal concerts in 35 years! R.I.P. Brad Delp
Thanks manic, what a treat! This is so much tighter of a performance than I've at giants .this is how I remember them sounding what I saw them live in 76.
Delp was one of the best rock vocalists ever. Why did you have to take your own life. Such a waste of a god given talent. You are still remembered to this day!!

i saw them during this tour in san diego, and damn it! it was so fucking awesome. there are very few bands that can replicate their awesome studio sound in concert, but these guys are the shit! i cannot think of a better sounding band from thier era with so precise sound. maybe kansas and toto, but not very many more. and i am a purist! BOSTON is an amzing band and it is such a shame Delp passed on. God listens to "More Than A Feeling" every morning, i kmow it!!!!!
I saw this show on this tour in Atlanta and felt so fortunate since it had been 10 yrs and heard then all during my childhood on the radio (wkls 96 rock). They didnt disappoint as they played all their old songs too except Smokin’
This is one of the best concerts I've ever seen (in youtube). The band is full of energy and the songs are amazing! I love the Third Stage record. The Launch, countdown, ignition and third stage separation track is one of the bests instrumentals ever in my opinion, this should be an anthem for every space trip!!!
I saw this tour in Saskatoon; amazing vocals and left me speechless. I waited all my musical life to see these guys and got to meet them after the show, a memory I'll cherish always.
Lucky enough to have caught this tour in Jersey in 87 or 88. They played every single Boston song that night except for Smoking, which they sound checked with. Thought it was cool that their old friend came out and played drums on the opener "Rock n Roll Band", then handed it off to the regular drummer. I heard they did that on all stops of the tour. Great memories! The soundtrack to my high school years. Thanks for posting!
Saw this tour in Vancouver, Christmas in Canada tour . Had a Christmas tree on the shirt. Also seen them at The Gorge in Washington state just before we lost Brad Delp. Both concerts were simply amazing. Rip Brad.....
Loved Brad's voice as well. However when I saw them perform in Atlanta several years after this (96 or so), he was performing with backup for the higher notes. Voices are not expected to remain that high forever. RIP.

Really wish I'd gone to see this concert, I always loved Boston. From this video u can tell they really sounded great Live, Pure Talent !!!! Thanks for posting !
It doesn't matter what decade or millennium, Boston will always be relevant and loved by people everywhere.
Thankyou to the person that recorded this so the whole world can enjoy Brad delp !!! You are a genius for doing this thankyou for taking the time to record this footage
Thank you millions of times for uploading this wonderful video !! I love it !
I was 10 and Boston was my first LP!!! I am 48 now!! LOL!!
first alblum came to 18 years old. jacket is beauful.
Roger Blohm Can't believe how powerful Brad's vocals are and his backup singers' vocals also - just hearing them on the album - I can't appreciate them until I hear them live!!!!
I heard more than a feeling when I was 6 and I'm 16 now, and I can still sing the whole song without looking at the lyrics
Thanks so much. I have always regretted Not being able to see this tour back in 88 . Thanks to you I can crank my headphones and relive what should have been. It's uploads like this that make UA-cam something special . Thanks a million.
Your soul was not lonely Brad, we all hitched a ride.
Thanks for sharing this concert. What an amazing show. I saw them on this tour at the L.A. Forum. They were incredible.
Who the hell would dislike this.
It makes you question if Rock music has ever got any better as the years went by. This must have been the apex of this style. Boston, a great combination of tallent, especial Tom & Brad.
Thanks for this posting.
This band was my life for the 70s and 80s sure glad I was a young man during this time. RIP Brad your singing for the angels now!!!
this is great. and about as awesome of a live sound as i can possibly imagine. everything sounds so great and smooth.
1979 Shreveport, Louisiana.
My 2nd concert. I was 15 and was going to live forever. Lol. Still here.
Rock n Roll 😊
RIP Brad Delp
This is arguably when the band was at its peak--Third Stage is a masterpiece.
Going to see them on their 2014 tour in June! Still an incredible experience to hear these guys live in concert--very minimalist type of show, but it doesn't even matter when the music is this incredible.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this. I still remember seeing the ad in the Toronto Sun advertising this very show in Dec '88 and wanting to go but couldn't.
Brad Delp not delph Are you sure you were really there ?
John Beauchemin lol!
John Beauchemin finger slip? my girlfriend is always saying I slip a finger with her...lol
Jay Keene
p pk ok fingers work 2 i guess lol
I was 15 when I heard my first Boston song I was a freshman in HS, and I never looked back. RIP Brad
RIP.
Did you see them on the tour with Farrenheit opening? Saw them in Tacoma 1987
Just love this! Talented musicians playing real rock, blowing the roof off!! No back up singers, dancers or other crap! Love Boston!
my fav band ! 75-78, I was young and they blew my brain each time I heard them, their sound had 50 years ahead ! yes fifty ! believe me !
Boston was my first 8 track. (we couldn't afford a tape player). 1976
Thanks for this live show of one
of the greatest rock bands.
R.I.P. Brad Delp
Thanks for posting this .Wonderful .Wish Brad would release a live BOSTON album with Brad Delp singing .
I've always loved "Hitch a Ride". No one ever mentions it, and I guess it's one of the more minor songs on that monster album, but still...
Great song

@@muzkmn36 I hear Your hitch a ride is My Fav guitar solo of all time !!!
@@muzkmn36 This tour hit Winnipeg Manitoba right after this show in Hamilton Dec 10 /1988 best show ever !!!
Thank God for this
Thanks manic, what a treat! This is so much tighter of a performance than I've at giants .this is how I remember them sounding what I saw them live in 76.
Delp was one of the best rock vocalists ever. Why did you have to take your own life. Such a waste of a god given talent. You are still remembered to this day!!
Thanks for posting! That was awesome!

We all miss the part of you that you let us be a part of. Brad Delp-- R.I.P .
i saw them during this tour in san diego, and damn it! it was so fucking awesome. there are very few bands that can replicate their awesome studio sound in concert, but these guys are the shit! i cannot think of a better sounding band from thier era with so precise sound. maybe kansas and toto, but not very many more. and i am a purist! BOSTON is an amzing band and it is such a shame Delp passed on. God listens to "More Than A Feeling" every morning, i kmow it!!!!!
Thank you, thank you! Thank GOD! somebody recorded this. I saw this show when they toured thru Edmonton, AB. Brad, Brad, Brad...why. :(
This is beautiful. Bradley Delp, was pure magic. Loved the feel and, look of the good old fashioned rock show. Great music.
I saw this show on this tour in Atlanta and felt so fortunate since it had been 10 yrs and heard then all during my childhood on the radio (wkls 96 rock). They didnt disappoint as they played all their old songs too except Smokin’
Thanks for uploading this concert. Boston is
one of the greatest riock bands ever.
What a great performance,,We miss you Brad..Thanks for posting this gem!
BOSTON with Brad is Epic and Monumental but without Brad Boston will never be the same ever again until they find somebody like Brad Delp!!
Tom is 74 now, wonder if he is still writing?
LOVE this concert....will always love Boston....what an amazing group!
Just seen them in concert. Well worth the money. Brings back some really good memories.
These guys should have recorded a double DVD with their best performances and another double DVD with the history of the band.
Thanks for the sharing...how I wish I was there... I like Tom Scholz's guitar solo...this MIT guy is really amazing!
David Sikes rocking out on bass guitar! Brad Delp.. An unmatched voice! RIP!
Love Boston, what a band
What a powerful voice coming from Brad Delp! He makes it look easy.
I saw this tour in Saskatoon; amazing vocals and left me speechless. I waited all my musical life to see these guys and got to meet them after the show, a memory I'll cherish always.
fortunate.to.be.at.this.concert!Amazing.performance..!!
Priceless footage!
Thanks to the taper!
RIP.
I can't get over how AWESOME THEY SOUND!
Remeber when music was happy and it made you feel good.
