As a rhythm guitarist I love seeing this comment. Unless you are Rush, it is very challenging to play a guitar solo live and not have the sound fall of the edge of the world, (ZZ Top etc.) and yet as critical to the music as rhythm guitarists are, so often we are still literally relegated to the shadows, so much so that even here there is debate over who was actually playing rhythm that night.
Too bad Sharon felt compelled scrape some extra pennies together, using Tommy Clufetos, who was already on retainer as the drummer for Ozzy Osbourne Band, to drum for Sabbath. IMO, his style didn't mesh well on "Bark At The Moon", & other OZZY tunes, for Black Sabbath, he didn't have that unique swing element. If it's not the mighty BILL FUCKING WARD, on his rightful throne, then Vinnie should have gotten the call. When the contracts were signed for the "REUNION" World Tour and the rehearsals began, the Companies providing the tour insurance, the underwriters, had concerns about Bill Ward's overall health, as he had heart issues in the years leading up to 1998, when the original members began to talk about getting back together. So it was the insurance companies who brought up the subject of a "stand-in", in the event Bill's health declined. For Tony and Geezer, the obvious choice was Vinnie Appice. Bill Ward performed amazingly during every date of the tour. Vinnie, was on the first leg of the tour, later on, he was on call, staying in the hub city, as the tour moved from region to region.

Grew up with Ozzy in Black Sabbath for the most part. I cannot stop listening to the RJD version of Sabbath! Actually grew up the RJD version as well. The last 2 years or so I fell more in love with the RGD stuff. I still very much love the Ozzy years, but the RJD stuff is just no words...

The little guy with the BIG voice! Watching him on stage with Rainbow in the 70's sold me on his music. Then he easily replaced Ozzie in Sabbath and took them into a different league. He turned them into a true supergroup. That's when I discovered Elf. RJD became and remains my favourite rock singer of all time. Even better than Plant, Jack Russel and Paul Rogers etc.
This kicks arse so much obviously I love the Ozzy Version but those two albums with Dio Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are classics and gave a new lease of life for a time to Sabbath plus when you hear the Dio was an awesome gentleman and a bloody legend as well I can’t help but love this

Ronnie James Dio was a very talented and a very humble soul. - I met him backstage, and he was down to earth, not like those wannabe rock stars -- He is a Rock Legend - His Legacy Lives Forever - Long Live Rock 'n Roll -
Tony Iommi, what an incredible player.....well, they all are. We miss you, Ronnie!!
Ronnie James Dio IMHO is the Greatest Vocalist in The whole Rock Genre!!!! Not just Metal, but the whole Rock Genres!!!!!
Geezer sure does a great job handling the rhythm parts during Tony's solos. It's amazing 👏, and everyone's spot on.
Scott Warren guitar and keyboards live for Heaven and Hell
R.I.P. Ronnie. you gave it your all! Thank you And thank you Tony, Geezer and Vinnie!
Stunning in all aspects
What an absolute treat.
The whole band kicks ass also think of how old these fellows are there all in great shape awesome performers
But Deo is in his sixties probably late 60s singing as great as he could what a loss to the world when he passed
I pray the rest are well Getting Old sucks I’m 65 and can’t even remember all their names never mind all the songs
Lyrics but their still one of the best
he was 66 with four stage cancer here
year before his death:/
I saw them in California and they jammed. Saw them on Mob Rules too with Outlaws. They jammed just like here. They could use the Sabbath name then before Sharon Oz owned it. Dio is in top form here. A trooper. A Rock Star.
This is just great music, great rock n roll, performed by just the best performers! anything I write will not match the feeling of hearing this true rockers! long live rock n roll!!!
To the very last minute of this gig Dio was giving an A+ performance, even at his age. So "Dio" really means GOD. Hands down best voice in metal from back then till the end of days!
And don't forget battling cancer
A+++
No argument there!!!
@@mikekeeler6362 meanwhile some clown takes money from kids selling a ''cool'' adict image and a ''no more tours'' marketing cause he is 'probably'' dying for at least 3 decades
Saw Heaven & Hell in Sydney Australia when they toured down under. Absolutely awesome ! Black Sabbaths Heaven And Hell in my opinion is one of the greatest metal albums ever recorded! Dio took them to the next level 🇦🇺🤘🇦🇺
Lucky you, never got to see them. Yes! it is still my No 1 since 1980, and I have thousands of Heavy Metal albums. Kind Regards (from sunny Coast QLD).
I'm 60 years old and I never got to see Ozzy with Sabbath but I did get to see Sabbath with Dio and The Heaven and Hell tour. I wouldn't trade seeing that concert for anything.
I was so lucky to c Sabbath with Dio at San Jose 🙏❤️💎
Always loved Ronnie James!! Saw him w/Rainbow the first time, then alone then w/Sabbath...just amazing at all!! May he R I P...gone too soon!!
Ya know? I even saw him in ELF at a local bar called the 'Bronze Bell'...sorry to say, tho, that is no longer here, either!
🤘🤘🤘....Dios voice ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 One of the best period. I've actually been listening to the greatest hits all week . I remember going to see Megadeth open for Dio at the Philadelphia spectrum in the 80s 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Просто, шикарный концерт!!!
Даже не кого отдельно похвалить. Все работают синхронно, слажено, вокалист и музыканты, все супер 👍👍👍💪💪🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤
Vinnie Appiece is one of the good drummers and good line up for Sabbath, still miss Bill Ward in the old days.
Vinny Appice better
@@shahrulhaidi3782 Finnie Caprice better
@@shahrulhaidi3782 no
@Nirandorn Minrintara hard to replace the chemistry between Tony, Geezer and Bill. Even there were better drummers (Powell ...) then Bill in Black Sabbath, it did not worked the same way. Sad was not in shape for The End tour (the finnacial smokeshow was all bullshit, problem was elsewhere).
Rest in peace Ronnie...Legend of rock !
RJD IS A RAINBOW IN THE DARK
Not many bands were ever as constantly heavy all the way through a set. True masters of metal.
Again listen to this on my Playlist 12 /03/2024 it can never be replaced. Rip Dio seniore italinao. Long live Geezer and Iomi an Italian Appici. And Ozzy
I am envious and thankful of everyone who attended that night. If energy can be beautiful it is personified here…Truly
Que Banda espetacular ! Feliz dos vocalistas que atuaram nela ! 🇧🇷🗽👍Dio é ótimo e sempre será um super artista !🎸☀️✝️
wow a year before Dio passed away i am pretty sure he was fighting his cancer at the time they performed this concert just amazing. What a singer. and to perform with such power and strength in his vocals just incredible. He is truly missed.
I love geezers Sound on the Lakeland five string!!🤘🤘♠️
When I clicked on this I thought to myself, "I'll bet they open with Mob Rules." I had to laugh as soon as they started playing, then I got a bit misty-eyed. This is an awesome concert. RIP RJD.
Ronnie left such an indelible mark on music. One that i don't think could easily be repeated.
RJD - listened to and appreciated every day.
After all those years these guys got out there and did their thing like true professionals. RIP Dio!

Set performed by Masters. Greatness to see and listen to.
UP!
Sabbath was born in my heart since the day I first listened, through all the years and never once have I ever never forever been diss - appointed, by the holy and annointed, Tony Iomi, Geezer Buttler, Ozzy, Dio... and of course, the many multi talented masters of percussion and power from Bill n Vinnie. Love you all for all eternity!! You made my day the past 1/2 a century's worth of commercial free, real intent!!!😊
Music was stirred in Tony's mind, what an illusion artistically well accomplished ,afrinkingmazin....thx been a fan since 1960s70s80s90s010s++++++++++×++£○¥e

Last week I watched a lot of Dio and it took me back 35 years with teary eyes. His music is a huge part of my life and so is this line up of Black Sabbath. I miss RJD bad but his impact on this world will be eternal. Thanks for posting this show, they are killing it.
blackmore/dio , iommi/dio, dio/campbell, what more do you need. thanks to yt you have access to all of his work and hardly a day goes by without dio in my life. heaven and hell will be played when they are putting me 6ft. under. hoping i will sit close enough to him on some cloud to hear him sing forever;)))
sane here brother

Same here brother from another mother.
Man, I miss Dio soooo much
The little guy with the BIG voice!
I saw H&H is Sheffield UK - it was truly great gig. Every song a classic
This kicks arse so much obviously I love the Ozzy Version but those two albums with Dio Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are classics and gave a new lease of life for a time to Sabbath plus when you hear the Dio was an awesome gentleman and a bloody legend as well I can’t help but love this
RIP Ronnie James Dio the Man on Silver Mountain.
I saw Black Sabbath on September 26th 1980 Heaven and Hell tour and on February 16th and 26th 1982 Mob Rules tour in Charlotte and Greensboro Coliseum greatest concerts ever 😊.
Dio the best. Miss you....
This takes me back... To a time when music actually was music.
Brilliant musicians and song writers. And life time heroes for me.
The Godfathers of Heavy Metal!!!!!
Can´t just believe!! Almost 10 years since Dio´s Departure!!!
We miss you master!!! Long Live Rock n´ Roll!!! Long Live King Dio!!!
I was fortunate to see this show at Red Rocks in Colorado. What a concert!
My home
RIP RONNIE JAMES DIO ,Master irrepetible, inolvidable ❤❤❤🎹🥁🎸🇵🇪🎸💖👏👏👏👏
