Best Ride, still holding out hope they bring it back. They need more high capacity rides like this is the larger crowds to keep people spread out. PeopleMover is a Win Win.
9:14 back when The entrance to space mountain was the conveyor belt escalator thing in front of the ride and The snack bar was still a thing where the current queue is
That was the Space Place Restaurant. That was my prefered place to eat when it was open, & was better than the then Tomorrowland Terrace. They had the best circular ripple cut Parmesan Garlic fries.
This time period, late 1980’s, is evidence of Disneyland’s popularity, as shown by the vast crowds of people. The Peoplemover, Skyway were still operating, and the park generally displayed the still-evident legacy influence of Walt Disney himself. This is of course, before the dreadful and fate-turning disaster of DCA, influx of Pixar, and a total commitment to the bottom line of a corporation bearing the disney name, long time removed from Walt’s spirit and vision.
Peoplemover still is my favorite attraction at Disneyland. I liked the Skyway with the Multi-Color buckets. Just my opinion, but I thought the Peoplemover looked better after the 1987 repaint. The Fantasyland Autopia was my favorite Auropia, & favorite restaurant in Disneyland was the Space Place. AWESOME footage👍 Hello from Phoenix Arizona❕🔥
Hi, I couldn't find a way to directly contact you through your UA-cam page. I was wondering if I could run your footage through an AI upscaler and post it on my channel. I really like the footage you took of the ride and I thought it would look even better if it was upscaled to 4K
You don't happen to remember ever riding the PeopleMover in the late 70's or maybe even early 1980? I have a memory that I'm not sure actually happened... or if it was just the dream of a young child. For the life of me, I can't figure out if what I'm remembering is accurate, except to find folks that might have ridden it around the same timeframe. Did you, by chance?
@@ZeppoRunRanch In that case, do you maybe... JUST maybe... remember a particular sign. I want to say that it possibly stood on a pedestal, and was very unique, as it had moving parts. I can't remember for sure, but I suspect it was either at the entrance or exit queue, and I remember seeing a row of different people's shoes side-by-side. the moving part was that either the people's heads popped up from behind the shoes, or maybe the shoes moved to expose their faces behind... I'm not terribly sure. I had to be around toddler age, so I could be completely mis-remembering things, to be fair. Does that sound familiar at all?
Crazy to think Star Wars had just finished its trilogy a few years prior. Feels like yesterday but it's been a little over 3 decades.
I miss this ride so much 😣
Me, too!
Me Three!
5:23 look at the line for Star Tours!
It was Disneyland's most recent major ride at that point. On busiest days, the line would stretch out to Main Street.
There's something about that trumpet & flute music that is super-nostalgic, especially with this outstanding peoplemover footage
Thanks!

Agreed 100%!
Amazing video! I've been looking for video of the speedramp for years! I also never knew Tomorrowland was so chuck full of rides then too!
The 80's were a golden era for Tomorrowland!

absolutely they need to bring back the people mover childhood memories would flood back in .
1000% agree!
Awesome video! Thanks for the memories of one of my favorite rides. 😀

Well said.
Love these videos. I went to Disneyland a lot in the 80s, so I’m always looking for g for myself.
I love it. Great times
They got rid of the escalator and replaced it with a service tunnel entrance, right? For RocketRods?
Yes. A service tunnel they dug underground to go from the Circlevision/Rocket Rods building to the main Peoplemover platform
I never got to try the boats
Single best thing Disneyland needs is to bring back the Poeple Mover! Upgrade and make better, but keep same concept!
This is the real people mover, not the ones with the stripe.

@@pinball541hated the repaint. Give me my red yellow, blue and light green. Also the skyway and house of tomorrow.
I liked the original "freeway superspeed tunnel" better than the IP "Tron superspeed tunnel."

Yes, that's fine.
1987 was a great year
Wholeheartedly agree!
The scary thing to think about, was that I was 11 years old at that time.

@@robm2101 It was at the exit queue of adventure thru inner space! I know exactly what you are speaking of. Seen it many times back then.
Where exactly did that ramp go up?
Loading station for the Peoplemover.
@@ZeppoRunRanch poor phrasing of the question. I meant to say “where did that ramp used to be at? Like was it by the Tomorrowland terrace?
@@johndukeoneill Yes it was.
