You know, when you think about it, the guy who recorded this video is a lot like LMG Vids. He rode the ride by himself specifically for the purpose of documenting it. He was LMG Vids, before LMG ever recorded a Vid.
I've seen a lot of old footage of the Peoplemover. This one is one of the best I've seen. The guy knew not to talk and just film. That was unheard of back then lol!
This was a great stroll down memory lane. Really hope they bring it back because it’s such a great way to relax and see the park. Star Tours line sheeeesh
I was born in 1980. So all of my childhood trips to DL included the Peoplemover. As silly as it sounds, it was my favorite ride. 😂 It was such a relaxing way to break up the day, and you always felt very rejuvenated with a second wind after to take on the rest of the park. It sucks that they kept the one at Disneyworld but not Disneyland.
So great!!! And in addition to the People Mover, I’m remembering the other attractions I miss. Mission To Mars, Captain EO, and especially the Motor Boat Cruise. I loved that ride!!!
People commenting on the Star Tours line - This was from 1987, Star Tours had recently opened and was extemely popular (there was no Splash Mountain yet, it opened in 1989.) In 87, it wasn't uncommon for the Star Tours line to start queueing down Main Street on weekends and holidays.
Love the colorful cars of the people mover. Once they changed the design and Good Year unsponsored it went downhill from there. Good Year, General Motors and General Electric were power houses in the 60s. Still can’t get over the demolition of the 1964 Worlds Fair. The architecture of those buildings and the Tower of the four winds. Wish I was there to see it in all its glory.
I never knew that the Cali version had 4 speedramps! That queue was far more intricate and complex than the Orlando version. That second set of speedramps would never work here at MK, they have to stop the ramps constantly from the upperfloor queue backing up. lol
The Peoplemover, the Skyway, the Motor Boat Cruise, Captain Eo, and the Rocket Jets on the top of the PM loading structure - all of these are gone. All of these attractions added to the kinetic energy and sense of motion that TL had at the time. I hope with the announcement of Disney's recent $60B park budget that a good portion of it will go into revitalizing TL and giving it the love it deserves.
Watching this on June 27, 2024 and original video was filmed June 27, 1987 🤯 coincidence... I think not! Heard this ride mentioned today on a live stream and I couldn't remember it whatsoever so came on to check out my favorite channel and see if they had footage of it and what do you know 😅🎉... sadly I still dont remember it 😂 but I do remember Skyway
I remember begging my Dad to take me on those cheap boats under & around the Autopia tracks. He said; "oh, those are BORing! but ok, fine". I remember deliberately trying to steer into one of the big protruding rocks but the boat went the other way, realizing it was on a track below the water! After we finished the ride & got out he said; "ssseeeEEEE! I told you! That was a waste of 2 tickets & time." I felt bad, ha ha! But I'm glad I learned the value of those ticket books, right before the 'All Day Pass' started.
Easy to get on. Virtually no wait all the time in line. It gave you a nice long rest, relaxed. You could stay in the ride loop most times as long as you want, the traffic was so smooth. It was my favorite ride to relax and chill on. If you had a date with you, you could basically make a baby on the ride before the ride ended lol. 😂
Like some people here have said, it was the best attraction to go on to rest one's feet, but I have to be maybe one of two people who loved the Rocket Rods. My dad and I never had them break down when riding them.
yikes im sorry but this looks really rough with the ai upscaling. artifacts everywhere. if you have the original tape this was shot on, there are ways to get it digitized and upscaled without losing any fidelity or introducing horrible ai artifacts.
I didn’t know there were other ways to upscale without loosing fidelity when upscaling. I unfortunately don’t have the original tapes, but I would still love to hear how to do it
this was the best ride at Disneyland along with carousel of progress wish they would remain now thanks to rocket rods for destroying the tracks there is not people mover and I can't believe they ruined this ride with rocket rods being the worst ride in all Disneyland
🎼 Wouldnt it be nice if the people🚝movers connected both the parks.?! One station in Marvel Land and brought back from the future man!!! Walts original plan ...is to always be growing not reducing over charging then reproducing!!!

You're welcome and it looks great!
Holy smokes! Look at the star tours line!
You know, when you think about it, the guy who recorded this video is a lot like LMG Vids. He rode the ride by himself specifically for the purpose of documenting it. He was LMG Vids, before LMG ever recorded a Vid.
True lol
I've seen a lot of old footage of the Peoplemover. This one is one of the best I've seen. The guy knew not to talk and just film. That was unheard of back then lol!
Look at these people.. not even realizing how great they have it ..
Back when you could go on a weekday and Space Mountain would be like a 10 minute wait.
I miss the Peoplemover!
me too
Tomorrowland in perpetual motion…as it should be 💙
Some of the best Peoplemover footage I've ever seen. Brought me back to my childhood for sure
This was a great stroll down memory lane. Really hope they bring it back because it’s such a great way to relax and see the park. Star Tours line sheeeesh
Camcorders were huge in the late 80s. The guy wasn’t playing around.
That was the best BEST DISNEYLAND!!

That line for star tours though…

It’s quite weird to see that operations haven’t changed that much in 35 years
Yeah, that announcement at the beginning reminds me of the announcements they make at Pixar Pal-A-Round.
Oh! The wonderful memories! Thanks for posting this.
This is sooooo cool! I wish I could go back to 80’s and 90’s Disneyland
So many memories came back watching this
I wish someone had done this when Adventure Thru Inner Space still existed.
I think that Adventure Thru Inner Space was difficult to film because most of the ride was very dark.
So that’s what that tunnel was, it was just so incomprehensible to me what that tunnel was but I recall it vaguely.
It was TRON all this time.
My God, that line for STAR TOURS!!
I really miss that attraction.
Straight up perfect family ride.
This is so good. Thanks for bringing it back! Mentally.
Thank you for sharing this. I would have been 10yrs old and most likely in the park that day. We used to go a lot back then.
Wow that's the year I moved to LA. So many memories!

I so wish they would put the peoplemover back in lol. Definitely good if you wanted to get off your feet for a while lol.
Thanks for uploading this, LMG Vids, and thanks to ZeppoRunRanch for the original. By the way, where are all the strollers? 😬
When it was a ride and not a track
It was so beautiful. Also HOLY GUACAMOLE at the queue for the new star tours ride!! I remember that!
I never knew that the Cali version had 4 speedramps! That queue was far more intricate and complex than the Orlando version. That second set of speedramps would never work here at MK, they have to stop the ramps constantly from the upperfloor queue backing up. lol
I just want to know WHY they changed people mover to rocket rods, like people mover was fine as it was

OMG MY MEMORIES!!!!

The PeopleMover was one of the rides to take a toke on.
I really hope one day the Peoplemover will return to Disneyland. It's difficult, but not impossible
A lot of tearing down and rebuilding the track structures.
Absolutely amazing!
They should bring the Peoplemover back in the modern todays look.

Yall remember not to long ago where we all thought for sure this was returning? Its all offhand disneys fault!
Disney needs to bring back the Peoplemover asap
15:18 my dad loved circle vision
You have escaped TRON's game grid for now, Users… But take heed, next time you may not fare so well.
One of the biggest mistakes that Disneyland made...was to shut down this ride...tomorrow land never recovered...
The irony is Disneyland was more futuristic 38 years ago than it is today.
I hope come back move people Disneyland Tomorrowland I remember ride long time Disneyland move people
The brains at Disney got rid of this ride.
good lord is that the line for star tours?
nice
Thank you.
Price to get in was maybe $30 back then?
This was filmed the year i was born 😁
This is the reason why rocket rods was the worst ride ever. Should have never touched people mover.
Like some people here have said, it was the best attraction to go on to rest one's feet, but I have to be maybe one of two people who loved the Rocket Rods. My dad and I never had them break down when riding them.
I think the ride was closed up was nobody was riding it. There was hardly anybody on it for a long time.
Working on the loading platform I’d have no problem getting my 10k steps in
Disney makes a lot of bad decisions nowadays, but I think we can all agree that removing this is definitely the worst one they have EVER made.
yikes im sorry but this looks really rough with the ai upscaling. artifacts everywhere. if you have the original tape this was shot on, there are ways to get it digitized and upscaled without losing any fidelity or introducing horrible ai artifacts.

It is a disgrace that they never incorporated this mode of transportation into society along with the monorail.
A disgrace.
Where is OffHandDisney in this comment section? hanging with Jean Laff. thats where.
