To this day the absolute best demo I’ve ever heard was on an Atlantic Technology 8200E THX System driven by some Outlaw audio amps at an AV show many years ago. Since then I always said I will buy that system if and when I’m ever able to afford it. So good that I can still remember it as vividly today as I did back then. So darn good that I we t back five to six times just to hear it. It was by a gentleman named Peter but I don’t remember his last name. Movie scene was from Vertical Limit.
i have an Outlaw Audio amp.... this makes we want to pair with the Atlantic Technology speakers. thank you!
I would love to see more massive, unwieldy 3 say center channel speakers like this one. It won't fit in most people's setup, but everyone should focus on accommodating the largest center speaker they can reasonably fit.
I went from a $300 center channel to a $700 center channel and the difference was absolutely huge.
Personally I'd always go with 3 identical speakers for the LCR & ideally the surrounds as well if at all possible.
I agree! If I won the lottery, I'd have a home custom built AROUND the surround sound setup. In truth, the focal point of the house would be the home theater, specifically the audio aspect of it.

@@RC-qc2nz The 'new' ones are Energy RC LCR for the 3 fronts and the old one was an Energy cc10. And no, they are not Klipsch rebranded if anyone was curious. Klipsch bought out Energy and buried them. Seems Klipsch just warehoused thousands of speakers for ~ a decade and then blew them out last year.

after having the 8600ec side by side the revel c208, the Revel won easily. A shame cause I love the look of the 8600ec giant!
I've always been a fan of Atlantic Technology, they make great speakers. They're out of my price range but would love to have them.
I moved away from heavy towers and downsized to bookshelf(s) in both my setups. Family room I went Monitor Audio Silver 100 (7g) x4, C350 (6g) and dual sb3000s. In upstairs room went Martin Logan Motion 35XTi x4, 50XTi, Focal Dome Flax and dual sb3000s.
Both nice set-ups dude.

@@socool8860 Be honest I don't miss the towers in both setups and it sounds better overall. I don't see a need for towers after listening for a few months with good subs. Think I'm sticking with Sub+Sat for now on after spending years with 70-80lbs towers. Kind of a relief lol.

Comparisons - unfortunately you didn't compare these speakers with any other speakers you've had in for review, and most importantly the Arendal 1723 towers. That would have been a much desired, needed and appreciated comparison... but instead nothing :(
agree I was waiting for him to compare, if you are pairing it with a sub, does that low end capability of the Arendals matter much? I wish he would of compared them

That center channel is the meat! Great review, buddy!
Being in the center of the cabinet, the tower tweeter is only about 26” up from the floor. This speaker is really laid out like a giant LCR.
Because it is a large LCR.
A friendly tip;
When faced with an inexplicable dip in measured freq response, continue measuring while you carefully move the mic in the X, Y, or Z axis.
This quickly illustrates which dimension is responsible for the null.
A 70hz null can easily diminish subjective punch and bass texture.
How deep are you into this to know that lol.
I am a fan of Atlantic technology’s subwoofers are absolutely amazing with a pure and deep sound in low frequency’s
How do they sound compared to the Arendal towers ?
A bit better voicing and wider sound stage, but the Arendals has better low end repose. Splitting hairs though

Hey Villaman I was just curious have you heard the JTR 212 HTR‘s? If you have how do you compare those to the 8600s? I know the JTR‘s are supposed to have some of the best if not the best clarity and dynamic range for home theater. Those speakers look really nice and when I put in my order for GTR‘s I was considering those even though I hadn’t heard them before.
I haven’t heard the JTRs yet, but I’d be curious about they compare too

This AT speaker line is in a whole different class. The price reflects it. Nothing wrong with the SVS Ultra Towers though.
They look absolutely stunningly gorgeous, wow. Quite expensive though. 💵😲

Hello Villaman! my UHD51a projector is stuck in the reboot loop. Any idea how to fix this?
Those Graph dips ect are your room plain and simple .I had that same problem when I used to review for AVS when i did the Legacy Focus XD review a ways back had all kinds of weird dips until I literally pulled them 6ft out into my room then normal so Its the room trust me.Some high end speakers are just crazy finicky whenever sub 1000 speakers can almost be put anyplace. I know Stupid.
I know they’re for my room and I said as much. I’m curious if anyone else had similar issues tho
@@ThaVillaMan Usually with more of the Mid high to high end its just the same across the board unless your you using a Onmi directional tower then less of a pain in the ass .lol They are very nice looking, and I have good results with the older stuff they make. These being sealed look like they can be a tad more of the move all over the place tower

How would these compare to Kef R11 Metas ?
I would be interested to see how these compare to my Revel setup? I have F208/C208 LCR with F36 tower surrounds with a SVS SB16 Ultra subwoofer. Great review as always! How does the Parasound A51 compare with the A52+?

Arendal center is inferior so for HT I will take AT any day

As big as they are they should cover a lower frequency.
So I need to ask.. Atlantic Technology 8600E or Arendal 1723? I have a pair of SVS PB 4000s so I don't need subs.
I think the Atlantic is the winner if you’re using it behind a screen because it has some nice customization and the tweeter is detailed enough (a bit more than the arendal, I’d say) to not suffer as much. In a living room setup the arendal is the one to beat tho
@@ThaVillaMan Thank you for the reply! I am on the fence regarding "upgrading." I have an 8200e setup. 4 x 8200eLR, 1X8200eC, 2x 8200eSR and 2 x4400 Atmost speakers that go along with the SVS subs. I have them paired with an Anthem AVM60 and 3 emotiva amps. Home theater is what I mainly use it for and although the settings that the atlantic technology speakers provide are very versatile I can't help but wonder what the Arendal speakers would do in my living room setup.

@@ThaVillaMan No way! Do you sit on beanbag? The Tweeter on the towers appear to be 30" off the ground (the average person's ears are at 38". Sure some as low as 34", or like me at 40"). But 30", that's simply too low. PLEASE correct me if the Tweeter is actually higher than 30" off the ground.
I had a chance to talk with the rep at AT and he mentioned they changed the tweeter to make the dispersion of sound the same or close no matter what level you're sitting. I had this same concern because I have a 3 level dedicated theater im getting ready to prewire for so. AT has always been on my list to look at narrowing down to top 3 brands. My thoughts are? I'd do is lift the center channel up on a solid stand below the screen this would.also put the tweeters in line leveled to the tweeters in the towers
