This test they were indeed at the same volume. The first video they were definitely at different volumes.
Definitely nothing wrong with your ears preferring the sound of SVS. We all hear differently, have different room acoustics and have different preferences.
Incredible job on the video. Keep up the great work.
I had see your video, do you choose the klipsch or I'm wrong?
Much respect youthman you watch other UA-camrs and don't hate or disrespect them. Nice friendly conversation bro.
@@elipolancojr3219 I have about 7 content creators in the same niche that I have become friends with. Great group of guys.
@@elipolancojr3219 youthman has great content and is super friendly he always answered any questions asked on audiophiles on a budget page i used to be a member of and tbh hometheaterguy is also shaping up to be a great content creator in my eyes
@@carolinayamadawg8706 ya I follow youthman and he dose have great content.
You will never make everyone happy. Thanks for your honesty, and the time you take for us. Keep up the great work.
One thing to keep in mind is that the Klipsch are $1600 more ($3600 pair) than the Ultras. Considering that, the SVS Ultras are an incredible deal for $2000. I like the Klipsch but not for $3600
The Klipsch are killing vocal clarity. Honestly pair those Klipsch towers with an SVS subwoofer and you'll be happy. The SVS towers have a lot of bass and adding a subwoofer will just add more bass but the klipsch you 'll get high vocals with deep bass if you pair the right sub. The SVS no doubt are great especially if you don't want to buy a sub!
I would have to go with the the pretty copper to me they're more crisper and Clara I'm used to some heavy-duty surround sound pretty much like the ones in my profile
Yea i say the same thats an bummer thats the case one clarity and the other bass
@@derrickmcpherson44 well honestly I'm a subwoofer guy so even if the SVS has more bass a sub will be hooked up. I'd go with the klipsch and a decent sub
If you're using bass management then one set of speakers having more bass than the other is meaningless. It's all about the crossover point and above. That said, I agree with his findings. I've always though the Ultras sounded better than the RFs.
That’s a very astute comment, imho. To get the best of both worlds as it were, add an SVS subwoofer or another good subwoofer and you’ll have the openness and vocal clarity of the Klipsch and some longer firing bass.
Klipsch will give you the tight short firing bass, but not the longer type. Maybe not the same mid range as SVS, either. But the clarity on Klipsch is unmistakeable and absent from most other brands. KEF comes close, but not as good in my view. Tannoy is probably the only contender in the price range, that offers similar, if not better.
About a year ago when I was buying speakers for the media room, it was between the SVS Ultra and the RF7III. It was super close, but ultimately went with the RF-7IIIs. It was so close. Everyone has different preferences. Great video!
Wht was it that swayed u ??
Can u give your feedback on the rf-7s please? Im considering buying a pair.
Much much better comparison than the last video! Great job on listening to your subscribers and implementing it in this video. Both speakers sound awesome with just a different sound..... Well done!
As others have said, great job on this one you covered the bases! My ears prefer the Klipsch
Whats your favorite cigar? I was going to go to Cigar International today with the guys, but i got a headache and came home
By the phone on UA-cam.. Really ?
Dude!!!
What a great job you’ve done at capturing the true essence of what these two models have to offer.
I think the time invested by SVS assuring that all the driver’s crossover points perfectly matched the mechanical abilities of each driver easily shows in this demonstration with the amount of depth and dynamic range displayed.
Again... Great job Chris!!!
Thanks Gilberto. Have fun on vacation
I really appreciate the time and effort you take in doing these tests and explaining the results as you observe them. I don’t pick up any hidden agenda vibe from you at all and actually find your open honesty very helpful. Keep knocking these videos out my friend.
Thanks Warren. Its not easy to impress everyone.
Finally had a chance to go thru this properly. Thanks for redoing it, this one is much better. On the last one, my ears told me "somethings not quite right" despite all the tech and spec. I appreciate you putting in the effort!
Another awesome video!!! I just want to say thanks for all the time you put into your videos. Keep them coming!
This was fascinating! I didn't think that a UA-cam video could present such a sound difference between the two speakers. I could definitely tell there is a difference, and I could see how people would prefer one type of sound compared to the other.
This was my take. Klipsch sounded more clear, tighter bass, but brighter. SVS sounded louder, more drop to the base, but more muffled. I think it would come down to personal preference. However, I think the advantages of the SVS can be corrected (calibration, adding a Sub, etc) on on the Klipsch. Not sure that the advantages of the Klipsch can be corrected on the SVS.
Great video bro and you are consistent which is awesome shows you stick to what you really believe. Keep them coming bro. 👊
I closed my eyes at the start, and was confident the entire time I was listening to the SVS 1st and Klipsch 2nd on every track. I thought the 1st speaker was more balanced, with better sounding mids on vocals and guitars. I thought speaker 2 had incredible dynamics, bass and highs but with the V shaped sound on a graphic EQ. The 1st speaker sounded better on rock and more traditional music. The 2nd speaker sounded better on modern & electronic music. I preferred speaker 1.
And turns out I predicted them dead wrong. I never thought I would thinking Klipsch would be more balanced & natural! I am not normally a Klipsch guy (more of a Monitor Audio guy).
Thank you for all your hard work. I just got my Ultra towers yesterday and it was all because of you. They sound amazing and you saved me some money. Can't wait to get my theater finished and let these things rock.
Sweet Ray, did you use why links to buy the ultras?
I think so I'm going to get surround's and center soon too and will use your links. Thanks again
Back quick with another video, thanks for putting in the work
You know it my man
I really appreciate your shootout reviews between the RF7iiis and the Ultras. I was on the verge of ordering the Klipschs when I saw your videos and am taking delivery of a new pair of SVS Ultras tomorrow at a savings of $1600 less than I was preparing to pay :). I can't wait.
What do you think of the Ultras?? Also,
what are you powering them with?
Thank you, once again for honesty and transparency. I appreciate the work you put in.
This video was alot better. Atleast to my ears. Well done. Through many of the songs i found myself preferring the klipsch, but it was pretty clear the ultra had more bass. This was all for fun for me, i will keep my ultra system but this was interesting. Keep up the good job :)
Right on Mattias
Watched with eyes closed and some quality headphones, and preferred the second set of speakers (SVS) on most tracks. Well done mate, your hard work is very much appreciated.
A REW sweep 20hz to 20khz with 1/6 Oct. smoothing in direct mode would also show some of what we're hearing and the overall sound signature of the speakers in your room
I gotta say Klipsch RF-7iii sounded better and more natural to me throughout this video. The SVS ultras sounded like they had more bass to me in certain songs. Someday I'd like to experience them both in my setup and see what they sound like throughout different music genres and movies.
wow that was an Awesome comparison..... I watched both the comparison videos... great job and Very True Review.... the SVS are amazing speakers, the sound coming out of the SVS towers was simply tooo good.... thanks for a great effort....
This test makes me glad I grew up with 70’s and 80’s music and JBL speakers and McIntosh amps.
Keep up the good work, I like your enthusiasm for the equipment.
ahhhh the good ol days
Dude you make great videos dont feel obligated to please everyone! No matter what you do there will always be a salty ass person here to criticize. I'm an owner of a Klipsch 5.3 system and love klipsch but the svs definitely sound a lot more life like. They always surprise me and I am definitely considering the ultra collection.
hahah. I couldnt have said it better myself. You are so right haha
I disagree. The first comparison was not conducted fairly because the speaker levels were not matched. If the same amount of power was applied to both speakers, the Klipsch would have killed the SVS because they're way more efficient. That scenario would have put the SVS at a serious disadvantage and their fans would have cried foul.
@@chewsir for that reason the first 'test' should be deleted or removed really. It was the opposite of a controlled test or experiment.
Nice job. It's a pleasure watching/listening to your videos. Keep them coming.
I love my RF73s. I almost went svs, however the highs vocals and midrange of the Klipsch were far superior in my opinion. The bass was tight and as amazing as I needed it to be. 2 channel listening fantastic. I loved them so much I bought rp8000fs for my rear surrounds for the win. Thank u klipsch
thinking of buying rp8000f ii but i heard the bass extension is weak
@@MasterofPlay7yes, they are lowered by 4db or so in the bass compared to the original 8000f
@@chriss881000 I got the rp600m ii instead 😆
Appreciate your candid comments. Refreshing to have someone provide their actual honest opinion
Thats what I do. Im not afaid to speak my mind. I have always been this way and i think me starting this channel was great use of that
Definitely a better video. The Klipsch sounded more normal. Last video it sounded too thin. I’m pretty sure it is due to listening via UA-cam. I believe you are trying to be honest. But that doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes. Also, listen to both demos via UA-cam to hear what we are hearing. The new mic may have made the difference. Thanks for making another video! Much appreciated!
Fantastic video. Love how you edited it and chose a great variety of songs.
this took 2 days to record
BY FAR the best A to B speaker comparison I've ever seen AND heard!!!!! WELL DONE DUDE!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Digi. It took alot of time and work to make this happen.
You have done a really good job of trying to standardize this test. 👍
I really like the videos you do, they explain things in a method I'm able to understand. Again thank you
Thanks Bob
That's why I'm a subscriber. Honest, unbiased and subjective videos. Your heart's in it and your passion shows. Keep it up😁
I love this, I've been considering both and this is an amazing comparison
Great review, i think you just gave your honest review. The more i listen to other speaker brands i notice what i may be missing or prefer. Thanks
it only took 2 seconds before i chose the second set of speakers. pretty cool. Using my RBH headphones
Another awesome video !👍😎
The SVS should have better bass because the two 8" drivers are closer to the floor, which provides boundary reinforcement. The basis for this speaker design is over 40 years old and it works. Thank you, Roy Allison.
Thanks for the good content!
There were moments that some tracks sounded better on the SVS’s and sometimes the differences were very small on one speaker versus the other. However there were two tracks that the Rf7’s sounded better including some of the video clips. But at the end it was a awesome video, you nail it. My respect ✊ to you. Peace ✌️
My new go to dude for theater suggestions!
Thanks man
Great video... Thank you for the time and trouble !!
I've never understood this whole UA-cam world of people assuming someone has an agenda to fanboi their fav stuff, I for one like your reviews and find them honest - I can't run out and buy gear to audition, and am looking to build an HT in the coming few months basically from reviews such as yours, forums etc. Hard in NZ to get hands on stuff to trial! Keep it up, cheers.
Much better than the first video, feels like a better 1 to 1 comparison. Svs seems to have a low end edge, Klipsch has a little more open clarity. Would like to hear the svs in person now to see if they have the same attack as the RF7III
Great video!!! I have a 7.2.4 RF Klipsch and I am happy with the clear sound of Klipsch speakers. But on the other hand the SVS look so nice they sound more boomy.
Nice, thank you! Well done, now the Klipsch has enough power to wake up. I love both, but SVS looks better, is smaller and has it all in one package. I feel that Klipsch is too demanding on volume levels to really shine. SVS does better job when you play relaxing stuff at medium to low volume.
Awesome video thank you so much!
Another informative video, well done 👍🏾
I think this was the test you guys wanted originally. I hope the time and effort shows
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude it absolutely does.
Dude that Pantera sound test is killer! This is my first view of your channel. Great stuff!
loved pantera since 1995. guys lived fast and played hard.
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude and you just sold me on the SVS! I may get a pair for my first towers
Thank you for the review. With headphones the Klipsch sounded more open and livelier to me with less boom... would love to pair them with my SVS sub; I do prefer the Klipsch sound for fronts, center and surround.
Great job brother !!!
I’m partial to Klipsch because I love horn loaded tweeters , but the SVS does have a nice warm midrange that does sound better on certain tracks, god video man I know you put a lot of effort into it!
I actually filmed this twice. The last audio was recorded too high and it sounded muffled for both. I turned down the mic gain and then redid the test. This is the result. So all in all I did this comparison 3 times hahah
Thanx for posting. I think the “fuller” sound from the SVS is also because the sub is side firing. I have some older Boston Acoustics with the same design and they are incredible. I would like to see a comparison between the Ultra’s and Definitive Technology to compare apples to apples as BA doesn’t make tower speakers anymore. Listening from my computer it seems that the mids and highs on the Ultra sound a bit more muffled or less clear that the RF7’s. Not sure if that’s what you experienced. I have not listened to these RF 7 Klipsch in person but you’re not going to go wrong with either of these speakers or the Klipsch rf-8000 series for that matter. Once you set them up in your room you’re gonna love either system and most people are not going to be comparing speakers in their room. It just comes down to what you prefer, and price. I am a fan of side firing speakers so I would lean more towards the Ultra’s but there are other choices as well. Also think about getting bipole/dipole surround speakers on the sides for your home theaters. I have not seen many comparisons, but both Klipsch and SVS make some good quality surrounds.
I find that the klipsch sound so much better in this demo. The different sounds are much more distinguishable and clear. I also find that the tones sound more natural. Great video!
That's a tuff comparison for my ears. The RF7 IIIs reminded me so much of my K-Horns in which I was never wowed with, however I must say that in this presentation I thought the SVS Ultra's sounded better overall and I listened with my eyes closed.
Well done! I love the honesty. Keep up the good work.
Coolio
Great JOB!
Great job!!
Great video per usual man. We will always have our own opinions I guess 😂 I am happy you explained your whole process to make it clearer. Those svs are an engineering masterpiece in alot of ways. Klipsch really needs to work on a three way design on their next flagship. Just curious, have you listened to alter bridge or tremonti at all? You may enjoy their stuff. Cheers man
I have not. Who is alter bridge ?
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude alter bridge is what was left of Creed after lead singer had his issues.
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude yeah theyre a rock group. Very very good music. Check out blackbird by alter bridge
Awesome comparison. Either would be a great choice. I am leaning towards the Klipsch. A powered sub would make for a fuller sound. Would love to see a comparison of the matching Klipsch and SVS center channels before buying one or the other.
I already had the rc-64ii waaay back when I started the channel. It was amazing how much bass can come through the center. I found the cross overs to be tested a few times when i was playing video games or older dvds. There is something in the tweeter that seemed to act funny. My unit was used so maybe it was just its time to be repaired. I loved it though. Excellent center channel and it will do toe to toe with the ultra
Great video, thank you.
Great video, I have Klipsch RF 82 II, RC 62 II, RS 52 II, SA500, SVS PB3000. So yes I could hear the difference between the SVS & RF7-III, the SVS had more mid bass, and not as bright in the highs while the Klipsch give you a more live frontend sound stage with crisp highs and more laid back mid bass. Both are great speakers, however I would still choose the Klipsch paired with an SVS sub for a complete packaged sound. Keep up the awesome job HTD!!
Good video....I personally can't judge wich one sounds better as I'm listening on my phone but I am curious considering the klipsch are more efficient, how much more power or volume did the svs take to obtain 75 db at your listening position? Just curious:)
Love your videos brotha, I need your advice, Am about to build a Home Theater system, for towers speakers am undecided between the Klipsch reference Rf-7 iii or The Definitely Technology BP9080X towers any recommendations?
Fantastic video, I am looking for what to buy. Question, if you put the towers and base behind the screen, would you use 3 towers or 2 towers and a center?
Superlative nicely done, thank you for this. My new Ultra's arriving tomorrow.
Currently running a new Emotiva XPA Gen3 300W a side amp, an SVS powered sealed sub, great, tight, powerful, musical, etc. The Ultras will replace my old legacy ADS L1290 towers which have always sounded astounding especially in my current set up. For all the reviews thinking I will also really like the Ultras probably with the plugs in, we like the low end tight.
Super test!!👍👍💪🍾
I feel they both sound amazing. I’m listening to it with headphones, I feel the ultra towers have a lot more bass from what I gathered listening to the video
I was just about to upgrade my front stage with klipsch when I stumbled across this video. That has now changed, and it's gonna cost me a bit more $$ than expected. SVS sounds amazing! The little woman's gonna kill me!!!
Sorry buddy :)
You said it best, they have VERY different signatures. I think it's easy to find great things about each, in this test the SVS for music due to more warmth/fullness, and the Klipsch for Dark Knight due to a bit more detail. There is no right answer when it comes to audio, as it seems there is always a compromise of some sort... Whichever immerses and transports you the best is up to hyper subjectivity.
Well said my man
like for the effort put into this! Well done my man
They sounded much closer in comparison than in the first video. I did this one with my eyes closed and based on the first video I thought surely the SVS were the first set again. I was very surprised to find that I preferred the Klipsch for most tracks. Most of the time they were very similar though, and there's no way the Klipsch are worth spending an extra $2400 for an LCR vs the SVS Ultra LCR.
I like these video's a lot! I noticed that the bass was better on the the svs ultra but the Highs where fuller en better to my ears on the klipsch but that is probably due to the titanium tweeter. My speakers have titanium tweeters to and I love it so much. But I am surprised by how close these are!
As always nice video!
Thank you for the video the SVS sounded more refined the Klipsch sounded a little tinny. You just helped me make a decision Thanks again!!!! keep up the good work
cool man. Hit up my buddies at dreamedia and they will hook you up :)
Thank you for doing what you do. Did you happen to try the SVS with and without the plugs? If you did, which did you prefer and why?
Good honest review. Thanks friend. Cool beard.
They both sound great I just feel like the svs tower speakers have better bass to it great vid!!!
Very good video, sometimes fewer words the best way to go, thanks for giving me make my own conclusion.
Thank you for doing this a/b video. I was considering the Klipsch RF7-III's as I'd heard Youthman's comment on what he thought about the new horn tweeters. But listening to your demo I still find the RF7's were a tad hash..more so...when playing music I think I heard the cabinet echo. I heard a hollowness. The SVS Ultra towers sound much more weighty and balanced for my ears. All things considered (factors influencing what we're hearing through a UA-cam video...as you mentioned).
To make a truly informed decision I'l have to hear them in-person.
Currently I have Paradigm Reference towers. Not replacing them. :) Does everything well for me. Cabinet is solid. Reminds me of the B&W 800 series cabinets. Same shape and solidity. With the 800' sounding marginally better...maybe 20-25% (Yes...if I could afford a pair of B&W 800's I'd get them....if I had the room and gear to match them).
As my system is...for me to go Atmos...all I'd need is 4 in-ceiling speakers and 2 JTR Captivator 4000 subs (Or rhythmic or PSA 3611's)....They are...if you have $2500+ to spend on one sub...better choices than the SVS PB15...funny we don't hear about the Velodynes any more...heh
Smashing Pumpkins sounds really hazy on the Ultra Towers, besides that I think the Ultra Towers sounded better than the Klipsch in music overall.
But movie wise, at least without subs - the Klipsch are just cleaner sounding. The Ultra towers are just kinda boomy - which logically makes sense since you have the Ultra towers pretty close to boundaries.
what kind of speakers do you own?
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Ascend Acoustics Sierra Towers, Horizon Center, SVS Primes and Elevation as surrounds and heights.
I'm indeed a Klipsch guy... now should I envy on those ultras? They sound great and detailed... great video with enough satisfying details... and nice T-shirt dude....
Thanks. Its a shirt from the Chiropractic clinic I intern at here in dallas
Did you compare the Klipsch and SVS Ultra Center Channels also? Which one is better when it comes to dialogue clarity?
i am listening to this on my Audio Technica M50x, now klipsch are shining, great mids & much more clarity. on ultra i felt less clarity plus bit boosted low end.
Personally i like the looks of ultra. not a fan of Klipsch but Klipsch sounds better for me. With a sub Klipsch gonna be like steroids.
Great video, Beautiful comparison. Keep it up buddy.
Great video. Impressive
Red light green light red light green light! Awesome new neutral comparison. In my opinion this video removes some of that muffle some of us were hearing on the RF7. When I listened, it seemed to me like the ULTRA's bring in a more dynamic surrounding with the 8" bass drivers. The RF7 seemed more aimed in the mid to high end so maybe depending upon preference on how your towers focus sound or how the rest of your system generates this may be something to consider. They both seem like awesome products. Thanks for the fun videos.
I figured this was the better test. Its an all around better microphone and it captures high res. Thanks for keeping it real
great video and 2 awesome sets of speakers ..much better quality this go around ...thanks for this informative reshoot !! sorry if i frustrated you in the comments last video your a very proffessional dude btw my name used to be tony stark if you remember me lol again great reshoot
yeah i remember haha
Good job !
Where would you place the Emotiva T3 in this race ?
Thank you
First your tests both were good for me. I wold like to see this test with the subs. A Lot of people set their fronts to 50 hertz or higher. 80 hertz is the default for most. I never worry about the bass on front speakers. I just make sure it's good for music. That being said my fronts are custom Cerwin Vegas at 700 RMS. I do have the crossover set to 50 most of the time. Sometimes I will set the receiver to a Front alignment that way the front have full range with no EQ. No body plays their front without the subs unless they are audio audiophiles. Anyways great video.
Thank you for doing such a great comparison video. Fully understand what you mean and hopefully others can just understand to take it as it is. Just like last time, the SVS speakers sounded much better and this was a blind test for me as well.
Is there anyway to review in ceiling speakers?
i dont have any in my house so it will be hard to review some. I have been working with dreamedia home theaters here is dallas and they do alot of installs. Hopefully some of their customers will reach out and i can come out and film
Do you think that the speaker placement in their cabinets are a big factor? Klipsch lower to the floor with tweeter up high and SVS higher with the tweeter in the middle. Both hitting different deflections and different dead spots?
I prefer the RF7-III from my DM601S2s here. Which is kinda interesting because before I'm sure I've preferred SVS Ultra over whatever it was. I'd assume some lower end Klipsch before.
I liked what I was hearing already. Then when the first sound test I heard was Pantera I got such a big smile on my face. That is just so awesome.
With the SVS Ultra I found the bass a bit too much and sounded a bit over whelming to me and at times muddy. I would prefer the Klipsch being one can add bass via the subs. The detail of the Klipsch high mids and are really nice. The tweeter seems a bit bright at times with the klipsch but overall both are great speakers and with the proper EQ both would sound fantastic. SVS probably is a better bang for buck.
Excellent opinions my man
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Really hard to change the brightness of a speaker even using manual equalization in the receiver. Much easier to tone down the bass in a speaker. That is why I prefer the SVS.
yes very true
So I just bought the ultra towers, ultra center speaker and pc2000 pro sub. All arriving next week. Which leaves me to the receiver/amp What do you reccomend I power with ? Budget max is $1500 to power?
Klipsch is Good but SVS is absolute "DIVINE".... - This video made me to go for SVS Ultra and I absolutely believe its right decision.. Love you man for this Great comparison video..❤
BTW.... im a klipsch guy but just today I did a comparison between Klipsch and Martin Logan..... i gotta say that for music I preferred the ML's. For movies i did prefer the Klipsch THX
Great video. It sounded like the SVS had more bass and the Klipsch were more detailed. I watched your video on my laptop with my AKG headphones.
It felt like the SVS just had too much bass, but I think both of them were still really good!
@@peterotremba8980 I agree; I want my towers to handle the high-end and mid-bass. The sub or subs can handle the low-end notes. But it's all preference I guess.
I like that the towers go down low. I match them to play with my big subs and they sound amazing
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude I bet that sounds insane! The SVS towers seemed real bass heavy through my AKG headphones.
I own all Klipsch speakers including those RF-711 towers. I think hands down the SVS Ultra tower have a deeper sound.
Great video!!!
Most excellent :)
So thru my headphones and my ears, the Klipsch give you more clarity and detail. The Svs are not as detailed but they defenitively have more bass. So I would pick the Klipsch and pair them with a sub.
William Munny dynamics and fidelity, Klipsch for the win
@@winning77th you mean overly bright and coloring the sound instead of just replicating the original sound? 😁👍
