- We finish the prep for the chickens, Barbara beautifies a section of the land by an old stone wall and then leaves me all alone while she goes back to the UK. I have to settle in our new arrivals and Guinness doesn't know what to make of it all
Now that's what I call a proper chicken set up, keep up the insight to your world, hugs to Guinness from Tracy & me.
Congratulations on your new grandbaby and your chicken house looks fab! Hopefully no mongoose scares!
I hope so too! Unfortunately the land to the left of ours is totally overgrown, so plenty of places for a predator to hide, but I guess we have to run this risk slightly. Thanks
That’s a really good chicken run. You’ve done well in the garden in such a short time. Looking forward to the next update.
Thanks Derek, garden will start to wither a bit in the sun so plenty of shade cloth will be needed i think. Thanks for your comment
Looking lovely, many congratulations
Thanks so much 😊 Dawn, chickens are currently poking about under the caravan. Guinness is asleep but also locked in (with air con on) xx
Congratulations Grandparents and hello chickens. X
Awww thanks Debs x
Great news on the new grandson (making you maybe feel that little bit older) :)
Thanks Michael. I go back to England next week to meet the little chap. Looking forward to meeting him and seeing our 5 year old granddaughter
I'm sure my grandparents were much older than we are now...mine was a bit tubby, bald and had been retired for years....maybe that's the illusion of youth!
@@greenerinportugal Is that not you now🤣
The weather is awful and very unstable this year. By this time, last year, lots of sunny hot days. Good job.😘😘😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hi Isabel, yes it's been a funny start ti the month but is gradually improving. Reports say this could be a record hot summer ! Phew !
FAB chicken run....Did you get it from a local store ? Chicken keeper here- do NOT feed chickens bread, it can compact in their crop and cause sour crop. It doesn't digest well. Chooks love meal worms for protein, hanging up veggies from a horizontal pole/perch keeps them occupied in the run (greens etc). Maybe adding a small container of chicken grit in the run could be handy too. Other than that, looks great! Congrats on the new grandson.
All good advice, thankyou. We will make some improvements as we go. They love free ranging but I keep an eye on them. Thanks
