Yes, the guitarist and drummer are (or were) brothers Dimebag Darryl Abbott and Vinnie Paul Abbott, Dimebag was murdered onstage and Vinnie had a fatal heart attack a few years ago. Cowboys from hell is the next song you should do (also a badass album)!
Pantera was a heavy metal band, and that guitar solo is the reason I asked for the live performance, plus the energy of a crowd that big was crazy. I believe Cowboys From Hell was the album they were promoting at that time.

"Alot of people" is an understatement of that crowd's size. There were somewhere in the neighborhood of over one million people here. This was The Monsters Of Rock Festival in Soviet Russia. The very first concert in any Communist country from Western bands. The crowd was being "patrolled" by Russian military. MI-24 Hind helicopters flying by over the crowd. This festival stands as one of the single most important concerts in the history of humanity and music. Metallica played this festival as well. I’d still say Cowboys is their best album...Domination, Message In Blood, Shattered, Psycho Holiday, Cemetery Gates! How do you top Cemetery Gates? You can’t
@@vietnamd0820 cemtary gates is great but hollow is a masterpiece
I’ve watched so many reaction vids to metal, and this is the first of yours I’ve seen. You truly have a genuine reaction and freely say what every metal head wants to hear a non metal head say when they first experience somethin like Pantera, so a huge thank you from me man. Gonna watch more now
Yes, the guitarist and drummer are (or were) brothers Dimebag Darryl Abbott and Vinnie Paul Abbott, Dimebag was murdered onstage and Vinnie had a fatal heart attack a few years ago.
Cowboys from hell is the next song you should do (also a badass album)!
The beauty of metal is that every band has their very own distinct sound, I miss these guys R.I.P Dimebag and Vinni.
Welcome to one of The Gods Of Metal
Its hard core
THE !
This is groove metal. And Pantera is completely LEGENDARY!!! PANTERA FOR LIFE!!!!
The baddest break down in music, period.
Saw Pantera live when I was 15... 30yrs ago and that show will be in my mind forever
This just metal. No sub-genre. That's why I adore them. Those four were born to play together.
They're actually a groove metal band. Metal itself, is a subgenre of Rock (incase you didn't know)
Yeah, they are known as a groove metal band.🤘🏼
Groove.
You're reactions are so thoughtful and seem to come from such a pure place. Love it man.
Pantera was a heavy metal band, and that guitar solo is the reason I asked for the live performance, plus the energy of a crowd that big was crazy. I believe Cowboys From Hell was the album they were promoting at that time.
Thrash
@@DookieDodger9953 Groove
@@flame_zzl Technically a thrash metal band with elements of groove.
@@DookieDodger9953 yeah you win
Watched this over and over and over and over on VHS back in the day. Perhaps the greatest live performance of any metal band ever.
Greatest band hands down. Literally any song you look up you will not be disappointed. Even their covers are amazing. Just to bad the Abbot brothers are no longer with us
Never late to enjoy a good headbanging!! 💓 that riff is so crazy... "Hold on Bro.. Hold on your breath " i was thinking ha ha ha!!
Solid singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer.
PanTerA.
SOLID.
I highly recommend watching their performance of "Harvester Of Sorrow".
As for other great songs, you should check out Cowboys From Hell, Walk, This Love, their cover of Planet Caravan from Black Sabbath, A New Level, 10's, Floods, and Revolution Is My Name.
When they play sad but true was also great
I think you will find that Cliff Richard played in Moscow in 1976 Elton John played Moscow in 1976
Queen played in Budapest in 1986 Uriah Heep played in Moscow 1987
Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Motley Crue and Cinderella played at the Moscow music peace festival in 1989 and Roger Waters played The wall live at the Berlin Wall in 1990 a few months after the Berlin Wall came down
Welcome to Pantera and welcome to metal, hoast of the most talented and diverse musicians on the planet
“Alright so I’m guessing this is rock.” Yeah buddy. Something like that.
Real rockstar pantera! Band, 90s Legends man
To whoever donated to get that reaction my hats off to you 👏 🙌 MrLBoyd anything and everything from Pantera but first things first "FLOODS "....REST IN PIECE DIMEBAG
That solo goes soooo many places! 🤘
From Arlington Texas. I would go to see them in clubs around Houston, TX just about 6 months before this and you wouldn’t believe how amazing it would be.
Your new to the Metal scene my friend, so I will lay it down for you. You don't ever pause during a guitar solo. Its a sin, flat out. Its even worse to pause during a Dimebag Derrell Abbott solo. Respect. Rest In Peace Dime and Vinnie (His brother on Drums) They have both passed. Dime was murdered on stage in 2004 and Vinnie died of heart disease in 2018. Great Reaction! Keep going you will not regret it.
I saw pantera in Sydney back in 1994. Loved it. Was sick af.
You should listen to, broken.. Great song.
A d the song, piss.
Great stuff. And many more pantera did
Gave a great day mate.. From Australia 🇦🇺
We are all here for the solo. RIP DIME.
I'm here for the breakdown
I'm here for all
the best band in the world at that time, and for me the best ever. We're taking over the entire country!
You need to do cowboys from hell, I'm broken and cemetery gates
Indeed legendary band. One of my favorite at my young age. Hardcore is the genre and have metal in mind as a living organism, always progressing, evolving and since its born it can't die. I play bass and Pantera have kick ass bass, thunder and lightning guitar and beast drums. It's the definition of Hardcore. Semetery gates
Take some time and research Vinnie and Dime. Two absolutely amazing human beings who were taken from us way too soon.
Dimebag (guitarist) had a guy that followed them on tour and his only job was to work his guitar effect pedals for him, what a gig!
Pantera! Kickass band at early 80's n 90's. One who saves heavy metal.
Yeah man - in one short week, your show really matters to me - i absolutely love it - keep up the great work
Absolute total greatness! 👍🤘👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I had the pleasure of seeing Pantera 3
Times. This was 1 of the biggest concerts ever. Amazing energy
From the jump I was smiling ear to ear just waiting for the BREAKDOWN!
You are 100% right! Pantera is most certainly a legendary band!
cemetary gates 1992 LA live version from pantera
They created this genre bro, its called groove metal. This song came from an album called cowboys from hell. Another song you should check out is called floods.
I Was serving in the ARMY in West Germany at this time. Many of the 1.6 million at this show had never seen this before. The best time of my life. I couldnt go to Moscow for this but this was going on all over the place.
He's reacting while I'm listening to one of my favorite bands.. while playing the drums taking a shit and headbanging going "OOOO " everytime he gives them a compliment
I never listened to Pantera before. However I once walked by one of Dimebag Darrel's guitars at the Dean guitar company in tamp. The guitar was in a shrine type of box. and I can honestly say. that you felt the presence of greatness being around that guitar. It was sick, just knowing that this guitar player had to be amazing, even though i never heard him. I was simply standing there looking at this guitar that he used to play. I was like, WOW
It’s so cool to see somebody who’s never hear Pantera before immediately recognize that they’re just different
Rex killed it on the bass He doesn’t get enough credit
Pantera is the gold standard of in your face pure American metal. They are truly a band of men amongst boys.
Every time I play it’s one their riffs I end up in at some point. The live solo here makes my hair stand on end, still to this day.
