Martins Fork Lake, KY to Durthamtown Tellico Park, NC- Part Three of Ultimate Adventure 2015!

- Hit the road Jack (and Jarred)! Day 4 of Ultimate Adventure 2015 was our second road day. We packed up camp in the misty hills of Harlan Kentucky, unlocked hubs (if your rig had them) and started pounding pavement. A few miles down the road we found out what the canoes that (were a requirement for UA 2015) were there for as the group pulled into a parking lot along the edge of Martins Fork Lake just south of Harlan. With that Campers unloaded their vessels and headed for the water. Canoe races were the main point (aside from the cool factor of 24 rigs with canoes on their roof), but things devolved into friendly sea (or is it lake) battles. Several of the watercrafts were capsized in the name of good old soaking wet fun. Once the canoes or other boats were dry and stowed the group headed for the Helms Ferry that crosses the Powell River that leads into Norris Dam Lake in Northern Tennessee. Once across we grabbed some ice cream from a floating store and headed down the road dodging rain storms eventually finding ourselves in Murphy, North Carolina home to the Durthamtown Tellico off-road park. Once we arrived in camp at Durhamtown at about 12:30 we got set up to catch some much needed sleep. Our dreams that night were of canoe based warfare and what tomorrow’s trails would bring.
Waking to the sound of a downpour outside our tent cot meant that we may be wet, but at least we were still alive. Despite the huge amounts of rain that fell on our makeshift camp in western North Carolina it turns out we did not drown or wash away, but would live to wheel another day. After a brief and soggy driver’s meeting our rag tag bunch of Canoeligans loaded up in our 4x4s for more trails and adventure. We followed Chuck Davis into the hallowed hills of Durhamtown Tellico. DUrhamtown Tellico is not named for our friend and UA Crony Chris Durham, but it might as well be. The park is named Durhamtown Tellico because the private owners come from the Durhamtown Off-road area in Georgia, and the name Tellico comes from the now closed public trail system that used to exist in western North Carolina. Those trails will be mourned, but at least we can still play on private land in the area. The trails and area have a definite Tellico feel and are open (for a fee) to anyone with a 4x4. Pretty bare bones video. Most of it is credits and grown men hosing each other down.
You guys drove through my hometown right before you went through the Cumberland Gap Tunnel. I wish I knew you were coming through, I would have waved as you went by.

In the UK "Green" is always for petrol or gas and "Black" for diesel. And it's a shame but you will never find a pump where you can lock it on. You have to stand there holding it all the time.

+TheDutyPaid do the fuel cap trick, you jam the fuel cap between the lever and the body of the pump and it clicks off when it needs to.

I love the canoes this year. I am huge canoe fisherman and frequently off road with my canoe to get to the fishing spots.

Really enjoy the videos but I do have a little bit of constructive criticism if you don't mind. As a viewer I don't think it is necessary to hear "driver's meeting" hollered every time you guys have a get together. Enjoy all the rest of the fun. Thanks

As I said before, it looks like a lot of fun....but. With all the rain and lack of sleep it's starting to look a bit like a nightmare. On top of that, the leader of the pack yelling, ""driver's meeting", every morning, would drive me to drink. Just saying.

That would be sweet, if they find off road parks that would open. Most close for the winter though.

You guys missed some of the best canoeing in the south. Cumberland above the falls, Powell about 30 miles above the ferry you crossed, and Andrew to Murphy (I forget the name of the river, but it empties into Hiwassie lake at Murphy)

The gas station they stopped at to fix the drive shaft is in caryville tn wich is about 15 minutes south of ride royal blue one of the largest off-road parks in the south im suprised they didn't stop there. It's kinda cool to see they stopped in where i live tho.

Wow, talk about a complete waste of time. This was part 3, you serious? Two scenes of the drivers filling up at gas stations, a lame canoe scene with older men playing in the water, a montage of ferry shots with the jeeps traveling across the water and then the credits roll? WHAT A HUGE WASTE OF TIME.
I live in harlan county I've fished off that boat dock before lol but desiel is green up here they was at the bp that's right outside the city of harlan

Green usually means diesel in US? That's weird. In Europe, at least in my country green means 95, Blue is 91, sometimes green is 98 too. Black is diesel. Which to me makes more sense if I'm perfectly honest.
