The bridges across the flats have been there longer then the 90s
My family has been going to Knik for over 20myears. Off roading there is no big deal. Go to Eureka down the backside of Monument and on to Horse Pasture Pass. That is off roading in Alaska.
Susan Halvorson this was just the first day. We went to Eureka the next day.
I LOVE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE!!!! Thank you so much!!! You made my day!!!
Sweet Cummins, this event looks like a blast. Breaking out all the toys to get through.
Awesome to see some older Ford's and internationals in the mix this year!
Awesome. Thank you for putting it on the Tube.
Wrangler is an all time classic! Love it so much so many years!
Wranglers are just the Dodge version of a CJ, which is a civilian version of a real Jeep.
Saw some of the guys at autozone in wasilla this summer. Also seen them driving in the highways a few times. Pretty cool to see the rigs in person up here.
Finally
a good show ta watch
must see TV.
✌🏾
Wow you guys are releasing longer episodes, I applaud it! Thank you
Rian Beaird they’ll probably put the rest behind a paywall, just put out previews for the rest
I like all the super built rigs, then here come some locals in an old scottsdale and a 4-wheeler lol
That’s usually the way it goes, overseas “overlanders” share the roads with stock Toyota Corollas.
I love it! There is always, always that one hill, mud hole or rock that the first guy who tries it, fails...and everyone else has to try it. It's always great when the hole of infinite suck wins tho! This is great content!
That local dude in the 97 TJ is great. Just so laid back 😄
I could watch this all day. Beautiful area. I love this type of off-roading.
Thank you so very much for putting this full series on here!! Finally a reward for not unsubbing when d.e.d. and roadkill left 😂
Looks like fun! I don't get all the GRUMPY people upset about this AWESOME FREE CONTENT... You peeps don't have to watch!?! I say well done! Thanks!
Looks incredible that is definitely on my bucket list
Amazing video. Even better scenery.
I love his honesty..we need more honest people
2:30
"I Cannot tell you how many vehicles have either been lost or stranded out here, just this year"...
Somebody send this guy the memo!
Man that is awesome I would love to take my Chevy trailboss on a trail like that after my BDS lift kit but In all honesty I would feel a lot more comfortable taking a jeep on a trail like that. It’s lighter, shorter wheel base, better approach and departure angles, and more clearance. Trails like that just prove why they are better off road rigs.
Love those cornbinders!
Lived in Alaska 37 years, all my wilderness off roading was while Moose/Caribou hunting...
I was actually able too see many of these rigs as they passed through my hometown of Whitehorse. Very cool to see these trucks and wave to the drivers as they passed by. Sadly I couldn't stop since I was working...
So excited to see this!
Cant really understand what tha orange JK was trying when building a "two way" JK... lolol Made me laugh a bit. Great trip and location !! We have doing some with this spirit and its the best!! fun fun fun
The diesel Jeeps are pretty slick, would like to know more about those babies!
@Noneya Business It's too bad you can't get the diesel in a two door. That's what I would want!
Thank you for finally uploading the Alaska UA. I was beginning to think you weren’t going too. It’s nice to see that my home State is just as hard on your Pro rigs as it is on our home built ones. 😁
This is great stuff!
Great content! Keep it up!
Great idea!
This is awesome!!
Really happy to see that they have embraced the future with LED headlights
Driver's meeting!!!!!! Look forward to the full coverage on MTOD.
love this wish I was there
Alaska is a playground for extreme outdoors enthusiasts!
LoL the trail really is on my a half mile long and the rest is glacier beds! LoL "lost trucks" out in out in knik are almost all abandoned cars/trucks. They are showing the 4wheeler trails isn't much. LoL
*pretty deep pretty gooey pretty awesome*
Love the Scout
Going out to play at Jim's creek is even more fun in the winter.
Agreed! Busting thru the overflow ice is terrifying. I miss Alaska sometimes.
I was wondering if this was something the guys from Dirt Every Day would be doing. Lo and behold. Fred Williams is out here doing it and with a diesel no less.
I’ve been to this glacier on my quad fun trails.
Those are most a small nest of spider trails built by 4wheelers and side by sides. They sure are tearing up those 4wheeler trails. LoL look how narrow a lot of those trails are.
Epic!
What a killer trip
Omg the UA2012 double-ended JKJ 😂😍 damm 3:07
Love this stuff. I have a rig in mind for a someday kinda similar trip. Should u build a sweet rig and go or just buy a sweet UTV and do the trip? My favorite rigs are always the big boys the full size trucks that are newer like from diesel power products. Wow tho that’s an insanely expensive route to go tho. I’ve always wanted a 73-79 F-150-F350. Man those r just so beefy from the get go, even the half ton, comes with a 9 inch rear and Dana 44 front & np205 transfer case. Bulletproof parts from the start up to around 37 in tires.
Cool video. Loved living in Alaska and wish I could do it again.
Only feedback: video showed at least 2 different unsafe practices. First one was a guy leaning over the handle of the Hi-Lift jack while it was in use. Second was sitting in front of the tire sidewall while inflating. You should always be perpendicular to the sidewall to avoid injury should the tire pop.
This looks like a lot of fun and at the same time it is incredibly sad to watch.
I've driven to that glacier and hunted moose in those mountains before. Very cool to see this on YT
it was my moooost favourite show😭😭😭😭
Would never buy a smitty built anything again used mine twice and it caught fire. When I called for warranty they told me it was an electrical problem and not covered replaced it with a warn and havent looked back
minute 5:05, RIP that Jeeps front end haha he took a good old hit there!
....funny thing is I could spend half a day out in knik before I got bored. It's not a huge park.
Smittybuilt Wrangler was awesome
COOL
Is this the same trail Top Gear US did? That was a great episode.
What happened to introducing all the drivers and rigs? This video was very disappointing for being the 20th anniversary. Hopefully the next 6 days are a lot better and get back to the original video quality you guys have always had.
I do pay for motortrend on demand. There is nothing on there at all for UA2019
Brookwood Moto Co and they have a special going right now for $12 for a year. Which is well worth it.
I don't understand why they put it on UA-cam first instead of their pay to watch service. The previous UA videos on MTOD are no different from the UA-cam videos
Why is this not on the motor trend on demand app that I’m paying money for..... seriously get it together motor trend
Yes
Fred is awesome
Looks like an awesome time. Will there be a UA2020
Top 💯💯💯🔝🔝🔝🔝
When will these be posted on the motor trend app? Having a hard time finding it on the phone app. Can't wait to watch the rest.
Looks extremely cold. Is there a Warmer version of this? Too bad Florida doesn’t have such beauty. All we have now is land developers and new subdivisions for northern transplants.
Looks like fun. When’s the next episode airing?
Bronco!!!!!!!!!
Man This Is My Dream. Hopefully I Have The Money To Do Something Like It One Day
is this season coming to motor-trend site? i subscribed solely to watch ultimate adventure 2019 because i thought you guys weren't posting it here.
It is funny that they used this to start the ultimate adventure. Guy drive stock trucks and suvs to the glacier weekly with out even airing down.
brett knighten where would you recommend wheeling in Alaska that is more challenging?
@@HarrySituations many of the other places they have gone including Denali highway area or even do it in the winter to add some challenges or go in to the mountains past the glacier
What rocket scientist decided beadlock rims were not necessary for a truck challenge like this?
Someone please get that old man a better jack.
That 77 green ford looks like Ferd.
I'm very disappointed that I can't watch this on motor trend app for 2 years it's my favorite series
Oh I've rallied a Suzuki sx4 out there so it isn't that hard of wheeling besides close to the glacier only really.
Crazy
Anyone else notice the Rubicon sticker on the 1997 TJ? Overall it looked like a fun trip though.
Jim's Creek!
Hey motortrend, can we get the full episodes on the paid app please?
I think I'm more annoyed that this episode isn't even on the paid subscription. Or atleast that I can find. It was released to UA-cam first 🤷♂️
Part of the reason I pay monthly is to get this stuff on the paid channel early and yet it's not available there only here? WTF?
wow so many of my favorite vehicles having fun together, Jeeps, Broncos, F150. Is the TJ the most reliable Jeep?
Hatuey McFarland TJs can def be reliable if you take care of them! I’d say they are one of the easiest to work on for sure
Outsider Wasilla? Um no. Try outsider Palmer. I live here, why is Palmer always over looked?
He goes off road in Alaska with a Prius Jack
Yeah Fred! Dirt Every Day!!
Should have done a comprehensive intro to the rigs at the beginning.
7.52 look Cooper what a ballerina he is
Is thus not going to be on the motor trend app? I’m confused UA-cam is use laulau late but motor trend is definitely late this time
Gotta go see the glaciers before they are gone. What a beautifully ironic trip.
Why don't we have the whole ultimate adventure 2019 on motor trend on demand it was one of the main reason I subscribed ?!!!
I thought I was going to see the glacier wasn’t that the highlight
Love your show, I do think you guys should be camping all the time on these episodes And not going to a hotel. That’s just my opinion
I'd love to participate but don't think my TJ would even complete the highway portion haha
👌👍
The quality of rigs has gone down and it seems there are less and less people every year.
I'm note sure. I can't speak for the decreasing number of people but, I'd rather see rigs like this run the Adventure, as opposed to $150k-$200k, indestructible Ultra4 rigs that run every obstetrical without hesitation. This feels like a much more everyman adventure.
I wanna do this someday.
Soo much complaining guys. I’m just enjoying all the rigs and the beautiful scenery;)
Kevlar tires in Alaska. Lol. Man up. I’ve been going to Jim’s creek since the mid 80’s. Ruby lake trail should have been your first trail. Jim’s is ok. But not really all that challenging. Then I’d hit buffalo mine area and do the trails towards Sutton. And further on towards kinds River. Much better off road areas. And can be done without touching pavement if you know the trails. The guys they took with them groan Alaska Don’t really know the real trails.
Love the show but never see any of them use a samp bogger tire at all....why not?
Great opening footage. "Were heading to a glacier", and there's a jeep with no roof or doors, and another with a cracked windshield. You know you're in for a good video. Optimised by the comment "I wouldn't stick my finger in there", which was relevant, justified and the quote of the day!
