    • @hong-enlin4651
      @hong-enlin4651 27 днів тому +1

      Dr. Thomas Seyfried has dozens of videos for years and he has made no progress, he proposes using a drug that disrupts glutamine uptake in cells which the medical establishment considers dangerous. I think his ideals should be tested more but I don't place much hope in his methods now, too much time has passed. Bring him on another show will do nothing.

    This rips my heart out and takes me back to losing my Mother-in-Law from colon cancer. Kids were here favorite and I'm so glad she got to meet my two oldest boys, but she missed my daughter by two weeks. It was heart wrenching to see my Father-in-Law holding our first little girl and knowing how much my MIL would have loved that moment. Cancer is horrible; I'm so thankful for people like Joe who are searching for a cure. Sometimes the medical community is so demoralizing and it feels like no one is searching in the right places for answers. It gives me a little hope to know that there are people out there who truly want to end cancer and are giving their all to find the answers.

    The last portion of this conversation was extremely emotional for me. My Dad, whom I so love and respect so much, died with metastatic cancer. Thomas, have you ever talked with Dr. Thomas Seyfried regarding his view and approach to cancer?

  • @catcan221
    @catcan221 Місяць тому +28

    Interestingly, I personally know of several people who reversed their cancer by eliminating sugars from their diets. I have listened to Dr. Seyfried as well, and while he does point out that glucose is not the only fuel source (glutamine is as well) that reducing glucose does have an effect on many types of cancer.

    • @NoFe87

    • @lf7065
      @lf7065 Місяць тому +12

      I heard Dr. Berry say in one of his videos that if you are not consuming sugar and carbs, the cancer can't uptake glutamine in the way it would otherwise. I'm not sure where he gets this info, but I'm running with it! I'm a few months past chemo, now receiving immunotherapy and just moved from keto to carnivore and feeling MUCH better already a month in! 🙂

    • @12angryrealists
      @12angryrealists Місяць тому +5

      @@NoFe87 Fasting/keto is only ever going to be studied in the context of conventional treatments. Good luck getting funding to study a treatment that doesn't make anyone money.

    • @catcan221
      @catcan221 Місяць тому

      @@lf7065 I follow and believe that the work of Thomas Seyfried in Boston and also the keto studies being done at The Ohio State University Hospital will eventually become more recognized. In the meantime, do what will give your body and your immune system every advantage. I have noticed that prior to carnivore, I was catching viruses frequently. In the year that I went full carnivore now, I have not been sick once. A whole winter without one thing! So I do believe this way of eating is very powerful for the immunity.
      Prayers for your healing and keep doing what you can to exercise too. Diet and movement. 🙏🏼❤️

    • @catcan221
      @catcan221 Місяць тому +2

      @@NoFe87 Seyfried does believe you need to combine with treatment but he is also not the biggest fan of chemo or radiation. He has another drug which he feels at low dose is more effective. But that is not a proven or accepted protocol at this time. His theories must be proven through clinical trials.
      In any case, there are many people who have had success combining traditional therapies with carnivore. I think this researcher just wants to make sure people don't rely solely on diet once they have been diagnosed.
      But for people who have no cancer yet, I believe it can be a powerful prevention to keep insulin levels steady and glucose levels low.

      I haven’t because we don’t have enough evidence to show how those vaccines impact cancer incidence or cancer rates in those who have cancer. When I have that information you all will definitely be the first to know. I’m actively keeping an eye out for that information as it is something that intrigues me as well. Science unfortunately takes a lot of time to gather information. The process of doing so is extremely expensive. Bear with me. There is still a lot to learn here despite the absence of that topic. I’ve spent over a decade pursuing knowledge about how cancers work. Fixating on a vaccine for the whole video misses the forest for the trees.

    My dear mother, who I was very close to, died from a second battle with cancer. I was adopted from an extremely abusive and unstable environment. I owe her everything. She did everything to try and improve her life; went gluten free long before it was a buzz word, juiced, nixed seed oils, and understood the importance of a healthy microbiome long before most even knew how to spell it. She didn't even reach 66 years.
    I have a theory about "health care". The other "c word", and while the "fix" holds great promise, I feel that it can be abused in a way like humanity has ever seen. I want you to think about this people- why would a behemoth industry ever want to create a cure for anything that makes them so much damn money? You can tell by the way they feed us, then to offer up the cure; all while discouraging fasting, eliminating refined and processed anything, and even eating meat. Yes, we all die someday, but people don't understand how long people used to live. Modern science isn't improving anything when the universe is slowing down. Everything is dying and at a faster rate than ever. Sorry to be that guy..., but I'm right.

      For some reason? The Continuous increase in processed food consumption, GMO organisms entering the food marketplace, and 100 Years of increasing toxic chemical manufacturing and leakage in the environment of more than 10,000 different toxic compounds. Add to that the stress from chronic social media drama, hate speech, and Communities being ripped apart because of a social justice movement that is mostly accurate but has a significant percentage of inaccuracies, resulting in shredding people's Souls when some innocent people are getting canceled out of healthy existence within community. Plus we have fear of global warming and fear-mongering in general coming at us from all directions. You add all these things up and the immune system will decline. We produce a thousand cancer cells a day starting in teenage years but our immune system always kills these and keeps them in check. Once we add enough immune stressors to a body, then it's a ripe environment for cancer

Once we know how to use CRISPR to preserve DNA to create healthy cell division and maintain the correct chemical and metabolic conditions in the body, we can essentially regrow ourselves throughout our lives. Doctor Zundell states that 24:40 "a ketogenic diet appears to be unfavourable to cancer patient health" but in the same breath that "a ketogenic diet in combination I stress in combination, with chemotherapy..provides a window of opportunity to treat the metabolism of cancer cells from what they were before to being more sensitive to that other intervention we are giving."
    I understannd that to mean that adding chemo therapy to a ketogenic diet is potentially favourable to the patient's health whilst a ketogenic diet without chemo therapy is unfavourable.
    How is that supposed to work? If he is going to make a claim which is, to put it mildly, remarkable, I think he should explain the rationale behind it.
    The interviewer says it makes sense to him.. Does it make sense to everyone else? Am I being obtuse here? It makes no sense to me.
    Totally different subject: Why does nearly everyone these days say "passed" instead of died?

    • @dr.joezundell
      @dr.joezundell 28 днів тому +1

      Ask a question and I can try my best to answer. Truthfully it is complicated which I tried to summarize in that alone a ketogenic diet doesn’t change enough of the processes in cancer cells to where it can be used alone. A keto diet appears to, in combo with drugs like chemo, changes tumor metabolism to sensitize the cancer cells to the chemotherapeutic. Depending on the cancer type, the metabolic changes from keto diets vary but the overall rationale remains the same. Does this make sense? In the episode I said “the keto diet provides a window of opportunity for chemo to work better…”

      @@dr.joezundell Then I shall explain the point. It was more a question rather than a point but there is I agree, a point behind the question, which is that currently it is fashionable to use softening words or euphemisms to spare people's feelings and in my opinion it has all gone way too far. "Passing away" used to be the English expression for a quiet death mostly of an old person "between the sheets" and did not mean a difficult or violent death, so the constant use of a euphemism like "passing" is a way of softening reality and it annoys me personally a lot. Now everybody is saying "pass away" especially the media as though people are afraid to name death and dying by their proper names. Another example is the prissy and soemtimes downright misleading American expression "go to the bathroom" for going to the toilet which ignores the fact that there can be toilets without a bath and bathrooms without a toilet. The most hilarious example I heard was an American saying someone "went to the bathroom" on the Appalachian trail!

    • @MrYorickJenkins
      @MrYorickJenkins 28 днів тому

      @@dr.joezundell Thank you. That partly explains it but I am still unclear as to why a ketogenic diet alone would be "unfavourable" to the patient's health. "Unfavourable" is a strong word for you to use. You say "unfavourable" which is way worse than say "ineffective". Why unfavourable?. I mean if you said "sleeping on your stomach is unfavourable to the cancer patient's health" people would want to know why, especially if you said "whereas sleeping on your stomach and chemo therapy is a hopeful treatment".
      Dont feel you have to answer anything or everything I write however. I am no expert-just saying how it strikes me.

    Interesting sstart of the conversation, the dude just lost me when he mentioned keto diets alone were harmful to the patient as sole treatment option and have to be combined with chemo therapy to be safe. How does chemo therapy affect the keto diet and how does chemo therapy transform the keto diet from being harmful to suddenly being beneficial? Sounds to me like he's just promoting big pharma, and lost his credibility for me. (24:20)

    • @dr.joezundell
      @dr.joezundell Місяць тому +1

      You weren’t listening. Again, diet changes epigenome. Broad changes in gene expression ensue. Genes that were not accesible before the diet are now “on”. Some of these changes in gene expression enable sensitivity to a chemotherapeutic or other therapy type like radiotherapy. From the academic research (not big pharma) diets alone appear to worsen characteristics of cancer disease models. In truth we need more info to make stronger conclusions about this stuff…. So before you question my “credibility” I’d first suggest thinking more critically about the information presented to you and who is saying it. Not everyone is trying to manipulate you. If I wanted to I would’ve told you that diets are useless to treat cancers, rely on drugs. If you follow me you would see that I actively promote non pharmaceutical strategies to enable people to be healthier. This dude has a PhD in cancer biology and has been actively studying cancer for 13+ years. I don’t know everything about cancer but I know a whole lot more than you do judging from your brief, illogical response. This isn’t some conspiracy my guy.

Meanwhile my white blood count is 10x what is considered a normal high range and my lymph nodes are starting to grow and my spleen has enlarged. In theory I will die with it instead of from it. The immunotherapy drugs have their side effects like other cancers and death. I'm not sure that's the route I want to take.

      Ask your oncologist about ER stress inhibitors. I studied CLL for many years. A big part of CLL is enrichment of plasma B cells which can lead to a swollen spleen. Plasma B cells need a protein called XBP1 to become plasma B cells in CLL. Using an inhibitor against the protein that makes XBP1 may be helpful. I don’t think the drug is approved for treatment but it was in clinical trials last I checked. It’s called an “IRE1 RNase inhibitor”. Some molecules that are approved that inhibit this enzyme are methotrexate, cefoperazone, folinic acid, fludarabine phosphate. These drugs may work in combination with treatments you’re receiving already. However, you need to ask your oncologist. DO NOT “throw the kitchen sink” at something you do not understand in hopes of making it better.

It looked like it would be very easy to spread cancer this way. I was not aware there might be an ability to spread the cancer cells this way until I watched what they did on the biopsy. Then I was like OHHHH Sh**T! Now I worry they may have spread it, especially since I only did a double mastectomy a month later and I didn’t do radiation or chemo since my oncotype score was a 15 and they only do chemo for 26 and above.
