Steve doesnt know it, but he was one of three guys who taught me how to play bass. The other two are some random dudes named Cliff and Geezer.
My year 1 to year 3 warm up routine was playing along with Iron Maiden #1, Metallica Kill em All, or Ozzy Speak of the Devil front to back. Obviously year 1 was more trying to figure those songs out than playing along, but I was able to nail every song eventually.
That was 38 years ago. Still playing bass to this day, in fact my band just played a show last weekend. I have become a much better musician these days, but put so much effort into speed and precision in my early years I "capped" my speed as a kid. Fast was always easy (ty Steve)... but now I actually kinda know what I'm doing. 🤣
Steve the reason I started playing bass
Been playing the guitar for more than ten years. Switched to a bass. Been a while since I've had that much fun playing music !
Harris rocks ! 🤘
He's such a great bassist, you can tell it's him right away.
Wow amazing little talk cheers.
One of the best. Stay healthy Steve!
The Coolest guy on the planet Mr Stephen Percy Harris

I want to say thank you to Steve for forming the band I love so much Iron Maiden. UP THE IRONS!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Didn't knew that he wanted to play drums, now everything makes sense... UP THE IRONS 🤟🏾🇲🇽🤟🏾
One of the most amazing things ever for me was seeing them in concert ( Maiden ) in Bremen, Germany Dec 1990. I was in the army at the time and was front stage. I took my dog tags off and help them out for Steve. He took them with the neck of his bass and then put them on. He wore them during the whole show. At the end of the concert he came back and gave me my dog tags and his wrist band. - love ya Steve .. and thanks for music & memories
Pay close attention kids. Steve is a gift from the metal heavens of Valhalla! \m/
I highly respect Steve Harris and his band mates from Iron Maiden. All those bass players Steve mention were great but he ranks up there as well!
Great bassist and fantastic songwriter. I fell in love with Maiden first at Powerslave. Then I became to follow their overall discography..It's pure bliss. Long live Steve and Maiden. Their legacy lives on. I am thank them for making music..Their rhythm and melody, vocal are still ringing in my ears.
