back in 2010 a year after I moved to Arizona, I had the opportunity to purchase a all original NSX 1992 or 93, all original, red with black top manual for $40,000 (US) with 98,000 miles, I kinda got turned off because of the miles and passed the chance...

Was the OEM undercoating removed? Why remove that?

Sometime rust hide between the panel undercoat. Remove everything have a proper check and recoat is the right way to restore a car and protect it from rust

@@RyuMoto it's due to corrosion, not rust. Like any metal, they react with oxygen and create an oxidized layer at the top. While it isn't as dangerous as say steel, it leaves behind a brown mark that's ugly to look at

Much of the undercoating put on at the factory was removed. It's ugly, but it was applied for a reason.

It was applied because the car was meant to be a daily driven supercar. This one likely only comes out on the weekends and so the coating isn't really needed. Not many people daily drive these anymore.
