I don't know if it's because my life is a mess, but something about these perfect restorations fill my heart with joy, everything becomes so smooth, so clean, so pristine.
I must be a minimalist because my take on car upgrades is taking things off to optimize weight ... best performance upgrade. Obviously would replace what I take off with lightweight components ... but adding more wires and compute devices is just more empty weight to add on.
Im no expert but this part of the video also puzzled me, I wouldnt think that anyone would add aftermarket stickers to the rims on an already pristine car
Yeah this restoration wasn't what i expected. like someone else commented they just painted over the old calipers, didn't even strip off the old red paint.
@@mperformance3502 B16, B18, B20 aren't weak engines. Power to weight ratio is what Honda great in. American cars and drivers should slim down more often.
You're thinking of the NA1 version which had the NSX-R logos on the wheel. I don't believe the NA2 had them and they did have a parts catalog for picture reference.
😂😂😂 True, lol. Rust is the term specifically used for the Iron and Steel. For other metals, it's corrosion and Aluminium has a special ability to oxidate and form a layer of protection above its own layer.
Awesome video!. I am fully aware that my own NSX will never be that clean, and I'm ok with that. However it's very fun to imagine doing a money-no-object restoration like this. Kudos for the attention to detail, getting rid of that offensively complex alarm system, and generally doing right by a legendary car.
You could do it over time. This guy in my neighborhood inherited his dad's old Porsche. He doesn't have a lot of money, but he works on the car every weekend and has gotten it to the point where it at least looks great.
@@stillsearching1284 Definitely. That was the first ~3 years I owned the car (26 at the time), just doing stuff a piece at a time until 95% of everything looked decent and worked. Now the "problem" is that I rarely park it long enough to worry about the minutae. That said she's going to get some cosmetic attention soon.
Oh man! Aircooled 911’s and NSX-R’s, the absolute PERFECT cars ever made!!!i wish I could justify buying one of these!!! They’re just the perfect combination of weight, power, handling...perfect👍. And they’re just gorgeous 😍
OMG the parts bill must have been huge . But that was so satisfying to watch what a amazing job superb work for all involved I wish I had that type of money to buy one 👍👍👍👍
says “we’re super ocd with our restorations” proceeds to paint over the old paint on the calipers... proceeds to paint the wheels without even removing the tires... the rest was well done though. very nice.
All Honda had to do is bring it back exactly but with a high revving V-8 with full VTEC and a manual trans. They wouldn't be able to build them fast enough.
@@lex4lyfe870 well, NA2 Type-R is one of the best sports cars in the world in terms of specialness and driving feel. I'd definitely buy one if I could.
So I can appreciate the meticulous detailing on the interior and was floored by the thread cutting to make sure the seats were better than new but..... That being said, I could not stop rolling on the floor laughing at the “spray painted” wheels and calipers. Like you go through the trouble of not only acquiring but refurbishing one of the rarest of Hondas. You stress how rare it is in the video for anyone that doesn’t have a clue but you spray painted the wheels and calipers! They are no better than the finish you made fun of only to refinishing them just as poorly. I hope that whoever gets this car takes the time to remove the tires so that the calipers and wheels can get a proper powder coating that will be as close to OEM as possible before the spray paint starts flaking and baking off. Beautiful car and congrats on securing it but you missed the mark on the wheels and calipers. You could have taxed an extra 2K+ on the price to have taken the time to do it right. 2.5 of 5 stars for short cutting on the wheels and calipers.
Exactly what I thought when I watching up to that point. The calipers doesn't seem like even got it sanded down prior to the paint job, and no primer applied. I'm worry that's not even a high heat resistant paint. Wheels should have got the tyres off to be paint fully, again, no proper prep before the paint.
z32luvr not hate mate just something that stood out to me as I’ve recently had my wheels and callipers done and if the workshop repairing them just sprayed them, I would have been pissed !
Watching this after I put together an Em1 from the shell up . So rewarding to step back and look at all the attention to detail that went into this NSX. Carhub for sure 👍
Driving over all that sitting water at the end of the video got my ocd kicking in especially after that thorough underbody clean. Then I remind myself it’s a car that must be enjoyed and breathe a sigh of relief. Thanks for making these videos longer. Honestly you could make them longer and I’d still watch as I’m sure there’s lots that didn’t make the cut.
Finally I found a video showing people who care to a level above my level of standards. There are few excellent companies that I've come across. Maybe I'm just around the wrong people. Great work guys

They forgot the NSX-R decals on the rims. I know im nitpicking. Great car.
Wow that aftermarket alarm system was a mess! Great job!
awong160 there was also an Apexi VAFC that was in the wiring. It wasn’t all alarm harness.
fyi the calipers were bare from the factory. you could strip the paint to achieve the correct finish.
Lmao
now the double layer of paint is gonna peel off from high temps at hard braking. great....
