I know you may have little experience with Pathfinder, but wouldn't that make it so funny to do this same thing with Pathfinder. Would love it and easy content.
So long as it is your first class, and you take all the levels within the class first (so all his barb levels in this case) then it is legal as long as it was the first class you took. He cannot however take barb, then take his cross class, then go back to barb
@@ConnorSinclairCavin according to RAW this is correct. He’s imposing his own rule on this which he’s allowed to do since it’s his video and channel but you’re right it’s not RAW.

The stealthy ninja without monk levels was just Drax the destroyer. He stands still and moves so slow that he’s invisible. He can also hit kinda hard

Fun fact, Demiliches resist magical Bludgeoning, Piercing and Slashing damage. They are also straight immune to nonmagical damage of those types.

Actually your point is a common misconception.
There are many creatures in the Monster Manual and extended books like Tome of Foes that resist magic weapon damage, most common are Swarm type creatures which are resistant to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage INCLUDING magical weapons.

@@nicmalugin9287 if you have a party with alot of AoE definitiely (wizards, Clerics, etc). But swarms are a fantastic way to challenge a party of single-target boss killers like Warlocks, Paladins, Rangers, etc.
Also you dont have to use the base stat blocks, use them as inspiration and make a couple swarms that are... BRUTAL 😈

One thing offbeat forgot to mention is that my character is invisible in the dark. If that gives advantage slap a +5 on that passive stealth.

Depends on DM, maybe wish have chance to be monkey paw or they have secret consequences, maybe character just don't think what wishing for things is lazy or something, there actually many reasons why mage would not choose wish...

@@jackb.207 There are no consequences for using wish for its main purpose - replicating any spell of 8th level or lower in 6 seconds with no material components. The real question is whether they're replicated at minimum level, 8th level upcast, or 9th level upcast.
Frankly, I’d say because there are other broken 9th level spells that don’t have severe drawbacks, such as true polymorph. Using wish to cast an 8th level spell is not as useful for your one 9th level slot as other spells are
Also, besides the monkey paw loving DMs, some also make Wish something you can't normally learn, they make it a whole quest to gather knowledge of how to cast the Wish spell.

@@TheCookieMansion while I hate to bring up other dnd players on a dnd players comment section vax from critical role season one towards the end had like +18 to stealth before vex cast pass without a trace which gives +10 to stealth checks for the party and someone else had something that gave another +10 so he actually had roles above 50 and some weren't even nat 20s

The lucky caster should take Chaos Bolt as a spell and pick up the traits that let them re-roll damage dice, they can easily go down the infinite proc chain, or at least go down it for a while

@@samcreed9951 oh true, probably would need to use magic initiate or some other similar method, or take a 1 lvl dip, or find an item that would give it... id have to review the options and see what would be the best one.
4 levels of whispers bard 1 level of hexblade. Increase charisma twice. Be a tiefling or more optimally an aasimar. Pop your necrotic shroud and hexblades curse in round 1 and in round 2 go for either a hold person or directly for an attack. In round 3 after successful hold personing go full slasher film on the enemy. Have advantage and if hit auto crit with booming blade and psychic blades for a juicy 4d8+4d6+12 up to 4 times in a row. And with a breastplate plus a shield you have an ac of 18 while doing it.
Arcane Trickster/bladesinger. Combat thief. Attack 2nd attack mage handcantrip, bonus action store the item. Repeat. Rob the battlefield before anyone can loot.
Combine this with battlemaster for disarming strike
Or take the feat

I just remembered that I have a barbarian that has like 325 hp at lvl 20 and the plus +27 drop monk get hide in plain sight and play with a druid or a ranger and have them cast pass without a trace so if I’m right max stealth is 67
In the great words of matt mercer when his rogue player rolled ridiculously on a stealth check, "you have stealthed your way out of the story."
I got one for you. The Woodland Wraith. Race doesn't matter a whole lot, but you're going to want to focus your stats in Dex and Con, with a minimum of 13 Wisdom. Shepherd Druid 14, Battlemaster Fighter 6, with an archery focus. Your main source of damage is going to be Conjure Animals, but this particular build gives your character something else to do while concentrating on the spell. For extra fun, grab the Nature's Mantle magic item from Tasha's so you can hide as a bonus action. The maneuvers you want most of all are Ambush, Disarming Strike, and Trip Attack to give your beasts advantage. You could go Rogue 6 instead of Fighter if you wanted, but then you lose out on an ASI.
Build priority is as follows:
Capped Dex
Capped Con
Warcaster (you're heavily relying on a concentration spell, this is VERY IMPORTANT)
Sharpshooter/Skulker
Skulker/Sharpshooter (priority depends on whether you prefer keeping hidden vs longer ranged attacks)
Capped Wisdom, if you rolled like a god at character creation. Otherwise, just get it decently high if you can.
My personal strongest PC was a Warlock-Paladin (Hexblade13+Vengeance7 iirc), High half elf w/ elven accuracy, and polearm master. Hexblades curse + oath of enmity = crit on a 19, 3d20s per attack roll, and 3 attacks per turn. Almost guaranteed a crit, and when you get it burn the pact magic slots on eldritch and divine smites. Even without crit hit we're talking 2d10+1d4+11d8+33(w/lifedrinker invocation). 😉
I was once in a game where I made an Arcane Trickster Rouge/Enchanter Wizard multiclass and made him a master pickpocketer and at distractions. I ended up with that 27 to sleight of hand, so nothing was safe from my invisible mage hand, specially if I added some other effects to distract the targets.
Fun Fact: You don't need to use Dexterity when you sneak attack, you only need be using a ranged weapon or a Finesse Weapon. You can sneak attack using Strength with these conditions.
I mean sure, but there's no good reason why you would outside of rp reasons and even then you be better off playing a different class.

I just got my sister to roll up a character yesterday, and she made a rogue, at LEVEL 1, with a +7 to stealth, and a +5 for some other dex based stuff. But with rogue prof in stealth, plus normal prof in stealth, plus rogue expertise in stealth! She got a lvl 1 rogue with a +7 stealth modifier. And she only put a 25 into her dex, not her 16 which she put into charisma because she wanted to charm people, so she could have had a +8 in stealth as lvl one (I’m not sure exactly how powerful it is as I’m pretty new to dnd, but I’m pretty sure that’s good for a like 1)

i love the idea of a character so stealthed tht they get forgotten about the moment they aren't being directly interacted with.
Tht cld make for hilarious RP...your party members keep forgetting you exist, and noone knows/can remember wht u look like.( this is my personal my take on how to interpret ridiculous stealth.
Thing worth noting on that srcond build. Yeah, hexblade *can* give you 19-20 crit. But its only against 1 target per short rest unless you go to lvl 14. I still agree that going hexblade is optimal there, but the champion fighter still has some significant benefit.
Also, yes, for a pure class the chamion fighter is weak. But a big reason for that is that the crit mechanic itself is weak if you dont have extra damage dice to stack on a crit. Which this does. And a champion fighter is basically the only way to extend crit range. So i still think its worth it
I wish I was actually good at drawing so I could make some kind of animatic to you dying over +27/37 stealth. Man has ascended past god hood.

I have a wizard with 28 AC and ridiculous initiative bonus as well as super high passive perception and investigation.
Time to make a character that can kill the highest level time dragon
+27 to stealth basically means you are permanently invisible. A 47 stealth means you no have ceased to exist in your mortal body and are basically moving through the weave itself
Barbarian resists magical slashing, bludgeoning, and piercing damage while raging.
First round nuke rogue, Bugbear Assassin 17, Gloomstalker 3. Alert feat, rest is ASIs to max Dex and Wis.
Stealth Expertise, Invisible to those relying on darkvision. All about being hidden and getting that first strike surprise attack.
+17 to stealth (min 27) +15 to initiative
If wielding rapier, attacking at 10ft range due to long limbs, auto crit due to assassin, 2d8+4d6(surprise attack from bugbear)+18d6 sneak attack+5+2 (if dueling fighting style).[Can double all this damage if they fail a DC 19 CON save] First round also has dread ambusher extra attack with an additional d8 damage,.If target is still up, no need to burn disengage as you are still 10ft away.
I don’t have a power build per day but I broke my sorcerer. I’m currently level 7 w/ 2 in warlock and 5 in sorcerer. I currently have 9 cantrips, 8 1st level, 5 second, and 2 3rd level spells known. I took magic initiate, the seeker patron, plus my sorcerer and warlock spells. Than I get darkness and hellish rebuke for being a tiefling. Utility for days with a sorcerer
"We're not trying to be Generalists with Power Builds, we're Min-Maxing"
Those are not mutually exclusive at all, you can Power Build in order to be a Generalist. One of the strongest builds in the game is Sorcadin because it does everything, Damage, Spells, Defence, Healing, Buffs, Control, Utility and it does most of that pretty damn well. The "Min" in Min-Maxing does stand for Minimizing weaknesses after all
Had an idea for a build with a 25 to 30 foot melee kill radius. Start with a Bugbear. Usual Polearm shabang (Armed with a Halberd, Polearm Master Feat, Sentinel Feat, Great Weapon Master Feat, and potentially Savage Attacker if need be). 3 levels in Rune Knight Fighter, 2 levels in Paladin, and 15 in College of Whispers Bard. Fighter provides the action surge, 2 runes (users choice), and more importantly the Giant's Might feature to increase a Size Category and add a d6 of extra damage to a hit every turn. Bard provides access to Enlarge and Tensir's Transformation, both of which provide a further size increase. Both size increase abilities allow a further extension to reach, which you already get from both the bugbear and the halberd. the sentinel and polearm master feats give you options for additional hits in your effectively absurd sized radius of melee range. Now throw onto those hits smite damage and the 8d6 psychic damage from the whisper bard's psychic blades feature, along with whatever you gain from the spells/giant's might feature. Might not be the biggest damage but it will hurt and have a hell of a range for melee damage. Bard also provides some healing and some other fun features to scare enemies and buff team mates. Just make sure to max out strength and charisma.
I once made a build that could leap something like a half mile every turn. Gotta look into that again
I have had a tarrasque fail a save against my quivering palm lol. It was a natural 1 and it had used its legendary resistances already, so I assume it was low
You made a way bigger deal about the +27 to stealth than was necessary. Any character with stealth expertise, max dex, and pass without trace could do that, which, with the Tasha's optional rules, could just be any level 17 ranger.

Funny fix for the “theif”-build, make them a Loxodon… that way every time they fail their Stealth Check they are the proverbial “Elephant-in-the-Room”, ha
Hilldwarf dragon bloodline sorcerer with the "tough" feat (at lvl 4). Try to get 16 con at first level (easy with pointbuy). You get a +11 HP per level on average. Try to invest in some Cha and Dex as well (you're a sorcerer for a reason). Not sure about spells yet, but the basics are pretty fun.

I made guy with the highest str ever. You do need to use mythic odyssey of theros piety system.
Totem Barbarian 20lvl
Totem bear, aspect bear, attunement eagle. Race goliath, with 2 feats mountain strength from gm binder, and the skill expert take expertise in Athletics.
Take the piety bonus for strength.
Nowfl final numbers is
Base strength is 26, activation of mountain strength gives you a 32(piety raise your limit by 2 an increase it by 2)
When ever you roll Athletics you have a 55.

I definitely think the theif/way of shadows is a good ninja multiclass.
Good thief: vedalkin lvl12 rogue 4 shadow monk. Vedalkin get to roll 1d4 and add it to a skill they're proficient in at lvl1 (slight of hand), max out dex. Throw in lucky and one other great you like and then you have 4 more levels to play around with
I have a magic item class combo it’s eldeitch tatto with monks because with the way I believe it’s worded you can have some crazy burst damage

Got a speed boi, dont remember what level this was at but he is a lvl 19 monk way of the 4 elements, 1 ranger(freedom of movement) Aarakocra with a flying speed of 90 and access to expiditios retreat from wizard initiate so full sprint is 270 feet per round, plus you know stunning strike so battle in the sky is just a bad idea

First level as fighter for con saves. Craft your arcane focus into one of your weapons since holding your focus counts for somatic components.
With that godly AC and options to reduce incoming damage along with 4 attacks per round can easily serve as a strong front liner with ungodly amounts of staying power. Which is ironic from a wizard.
A skill junkie is already possible on Level 8 with proficiency in every of 18 skills including a total of 9 expertises... You don't need 15 levels for that!
Oh yeah, before I forgot: With enhance ability for sure!
Demich has resistance to magical bludgeoning piercing and slashing damage.
Also, for lower levels, the wretched, the lost, the lonely, the angry, and the hungry are resistant to (magical and non magical) bludgeoning piercing and slashing while in dim light or darkness
a bunch of things resist Magical B/P/S all they need is resistance to B/P/S and not have the per requisite from non magical attacks.
If you're going level 20 it's just Moon Druid. Unlimited elemental Wildshape. At almost Access All Areas, and practically unkillable.
17:30 drop 2 levels in idk and add 2 in trickery cleric for an hour long advantage in stealth🙂

So with multiclass rules you can ignore the prerequisites of your Primary class so the barbarian should be fine, however, if they took it second then yes, that would be a limiting factor. I have used this multiple times to get an early game dip into a class then switch fully to my secondary class that is the real main
I always think of the halflings luck as “nothing is ever as bad as it could be”
If you can have passive investigation get passive stealth too.
I have a feeling that first one (Monk-Rogue) is more about hurting people in to not seeing your character rather than traditional sneaking skills.
Theres alwayd the classic, hexblade warlock with polearm master, sentinal, fighting initiate:tunnel fighter, and max cha.

Aren't all swarms and demiliches resistant to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage? (and we now also have Ghost Dragons from Fizban's which have these resistances as well, but obviously they weren't released at the time this video came out)
Quivering Palm is good if you have 2 levels of divination wizard for portent
Okay so hear me out... 5 hexblade warlock, 3 vengeance pali, 12 zealot barbarian... It's jank as all hell, but eldritch smite, divine smite, hunter's mark, and diet smite, and load up your spells for useful out of combat stuff
I’m using a Dragonborn race character I made who’s actually two kobolds in Rogue Paladin and has convinced a village they saved they are a single Dragon born, their persuasion, deception, and charisma are +7 and they have the whole party convinced they are a folk hero Dragon born and that’s that. They also have successfully convinced every npc they are a Dragonborn. They’re backstory explains why they do this but honestly the DM loves it, what makes it even better is it’s kept a secret from the rest of the party so they don’t push perception on my character trying to ruin the gag build I made.
I have a decently powerful build for you which is the ultimate martial support in my opinion, and it is a custom linage 12th level battle master fighter, 8th level ancestors guardian barbarian. The ability scores will be str (16)20, dex 14, con 16, int 8, wis 10, cha 8. The feats you'll need to take will be brawny/skill expert, fell handed, shield master, resilient wisdom, and tough. So, if you can't tell already what this build does is be rather difficult to kill, deal consistent damage, and protect or support his allies. Using fell handed and shield master in combination with rage, expertise, action surge, and reckless attack you can knock prone a maximum of 7 enemies in a single round. You can also support your allies by giving enemies disadvantage, and reducing the damage allies take by 2d6 on top of battle master maneuvers like commanders strike which rogues love as it lets them sneak attack multiple times per round.
I'm trying to get into D&D but don't know where to start and nobody I know is remotely interested I was just wondering where I could possibly start.
I'm planning adventure league right now with a bugbear Barbarian with a glave which gives me 15 ft reach. path of ancestral guardian. Opponent attacks with disadvantage on allies and allies take half damage making my opponent come after me alone with 15-ft reach I hit him and run This now gives my allies opportunity attack and with polearm expert when he steps within my reach I hit him again
Most builds won't reach full potential until level 12 minimal. You'll be stuck sometimes with not so efficient builds the entire game. Considering most campaigns last max 5 level ups, you won't have the pleasure you seek until everybody reached their full potential.

I feel like if you are building a character to mess with die rolls and don't take a 1 level dip into Clockwork Soul Sorcerer, you're doing it wrong.
So I was thinking of trying out a harengon drunken master monk sub classing into the college of glamor bard. Must have cantrip being prestidgitation. Fill it off from there. I think it would be fun flawed character to play that could get into a lot crazy fun situations.
oh if he's still doing these i should submit the hilarious build to smite like 11 times in 1 turn
I prefer going the tank route working on the saving throws though the turtle ac base 17 +3adamantine sheild +5ac (immune to crits) sheild of faith +2 ac forge cleric cause gives you plus one ac 9n an armor piece cerem9ny wedding gives plus 2 to you and a teammate or if your dm is lenient you start with a stone defender and you marry tthe defender which gives you total plus 7ac (2ac wedding 5 reaction Stone defender) not including 3/4 cover +5 and sheild which is +5ac on reaction not including magical attunement items gives +8ac (thats the highest combo ive found) and if your going lvl 20 10 artificier battle smith 10 forge cleric take tough feat and magic intiate steel defender they have to role on disadvantage and have to hit a potentially 50 in ac im ommitting some spells ive found due to this being essentially an untested build
So two lv two artificers with create item bag of holding making the arrow of destruction with it
if u get a 47 in stealth you are so quite pcitures of you start to disappear. people who thought they knew you forget that you exist.

I feel like it don't matter as long as it's in the books. Saying that if you got a crazy idea as long as the dm isn't trying to fuck the game up. Everyone will have fun just play far an by the book.
So start as assassin rogue level 4 then 4 in gloom stalker ranger and then 12 in master battle fighter as a wood elf

Hear me out level 15 circle of the moon druid/level 5 echo fighter. Take Mounted combatant, and sentinel, and use a halberd. Summon Echo Knight, become unicorn = profit.
47 in Stealth means you're a bald assassin with a barcode on your neck

My favorite “powerbuild” rn is swashbuckler X/ Battlemaster 3/ Hexblade 1-2. I’d only take hexblade 2 levels of you really want the second pact slot and invocations. You’re a rouge so I really like Mask of Many Faces and Misty Visions for a Rogue
Basically you get to sneak attack out of turn VERY reliably. Brace Maneuver + Rakish Audacity. Attack in your turn, take a step back, use Brace for second sneak attack when they approach. You can Action Surge to hold your attack for out of turn Sneak Attack OR you can Action Surge and cast a spell and get Sneak Attack off.
Action Surge Booming Bladex2 + Sneak Attack + Brace + Another Sneak Attack + Extra Booming Blade damage. You could also have Hex and/or Hexblade’s curse up for even more damage. At level 14 it’s 6d8+5d6+2d8+5d6+3d8+21=114.5 With Hex and Hexblade’s curse it’s 6d8+5d6+2d8+5d6+3d8+3d6+21+15 =140
I think that’s pretty amazing for a majority Rogue damage wise (without taking into account assassin nova builds) in one round. My only issue is the leveling of it. Ig I’d maybe start rogue and go to 5 then multiclass into either my first level of Hexblade or straight through my 3 Battlemaster levels. Either way to build doesn’t fully come online until level 8-9.
At level 20 it’s 240.5 damage a round on average if you spend as many Maneuvers are possible in a round.

yeah i just madea pure barbarian in ower homebrew camptain i just got really lucky on rolls so he has 20 in str,dex and con while around 10,11 and 14 in int wis and cha
he is ment to do damage and it does it so far at lv 16 he has an ac of 25 and hp of 273 and now a greatsword that cab basicly kill ant god/evil creature
he has almost one shot a beholder and 1 v 1 two dragons already (with some help form the party) and won both times but damn was he cutting it close
i look forward to getting him to lv 20 to jsut see how tanky i can make him
