Having good time with parents is literally a common thing for people around the world, happy for you, and btw, am looking forward to your next tour in Mainland China.
Love your mom ,she is like my mom where i made her try new things and now she cooks them especially like soy sauce and spicy things 😅, we are having all the food with a spicy touch now. 😂 Its great to see our parents enjoy moments like this 😄
Great of you both to introduce Chinese hot pot to your parents, Steve lvana. Looks like they enjoy and love it. Good job, Mdm Diane and Mr Greig. Great and fun experience !! 💪👍🫰
Its always fun to see your mom and dad Steve. One thing for sure she is a natural in front of the camera, very brave of her to try such asian food like the duck blood
It's cool that your mom was open to trying this out. Just went to Haidilao Hot Pot over at Woodside Square the other day, loved it. Will be going back to Denmark soon, but I'll prolly come back for one more go before then. Some of my friends dared me to try the lamb brains, so I might actually go for it! They also do this "mask-changing performance" after 7pm. Not sure if that's the case for all of them, but definitely regarding the one over at Woodside.
I remember the steamboat/hotpot Ivana and Steve first had in KL when Steve was not really exposed to fish and seafood😂...so nice to see all back with mum in Canada trying out food and now Steve is expert...😂😂😊😊😊😊😊
Love your content❤❤❤❤. After watching this, I think I will take my mom to a authentic french cuisine. She never tried 🐌 or rabbit before. I'm really anticipating her reaction😂.
toufu skin is a literal translation. It is actually soy pasty or toufu pasty. Duck blood or pig blood is actually really high in fiber, it is very good for cleaning your intestine.
The most refreshing part is when your mom got all excited about Ivana getting pregnant. And to think I was under the impression that parents in western countries didn’t care very much about grandchildren. God bless you!
@@JetLagWarriorsI recommend that you visit the Swiss city of Brazil, it is very beautiful and also visit Rio de Janeiro, it was not in the most beautiful places
The sauce is very important to how good your hot pot will be for non-Chinese. You need to experiment with adding different sauce. But sesame sauce, garlic, spring onions are very important.
The duck blood you had in Chongqing was probably local and coagulated very fresh, thus the very delicate and fragile texture. You are more likely to see the pre-packaged, somewhat mass-produced firm duck blood like the one you had at Happy Lamb in most restaurants.
In China, filial piety to parents is the most respected virtue. If you take your parents to China next time, you will definitely get good attention and respect.
Welcome to China! I am from Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Welcome to my hometown to see the lovely panda! If you are curious about my hometown, you can ask me, I will answer for you!
Huh that's so awesome having a parents and family fun creaking good time together Chains people's is very nice and and Chaina is awesome place to visit guys you should also add the prices of the hotels so that the people's in overseas know where is the cheapest place to stay
We have the same restaurants in Vancouver, but haven’t been there for a long time… cause I have been going to HaiDiLao.. I found it to be serving more quality hotpot personally. A bit more on the spicy side but also has no spicy choices. Definitely give it a try if you can find one in your city!
When you cook something in a large saucepan, be sure to take the soup spoons out of the soup every time!! It's weird whe soup is cooked with a soup spoon!!
Much safe way just all kinds of slice meat, shrimp, non fishy ocean fish, spinach, rice noodle (thinner, Longkou 粉丝), not glass noodle, too hard chewing, not artificial toufu. Flavor all comes to source you choose. I heard you mom say Satay (Singapore style with onion garlic sesame peanut oil turmeric or curry)? Use net scoop dipping raw meat in soup. Use separate chopsticks to pickup raw meat, bc sometimes if you don't put chopsticks in soup, kind of unsafe.
for hotpot tips, most of food has their cooking timer suggestions for, the meat cant let them cook until floating, overcooked the meat it doesnt tastes good ,it gonna be too hard ....the tofu skill roll called 响铃卷 it only need to be 5-10 second in the hotpot....;> enjoy more and learn more in CHENGDU or CHONGQING of sichuang province.
The funniest part is when the parents go to have a Hotpot, and they try. Give them credit. Life is short. As Asians, we eat different cultural foods. This is what makes life more enjoyable: exploring the other side of darkness. We usually feel afraid.
The sauce can largely determine your hotpot experience, and the sauce can be pretty much anything in addition to sesame sauce/oil. Once I ran out of sesame sauce at home and replaced it with hummus, it worked surprisingly good with spicy hotpot, and healthier in terms of fat. Recommend this if you ever want to make hotpot at home :D
Was not nearly as spicy as in Chongqing. If you notice, the broth in Canada was a bit white/watery in the bottom, and only red on top. The one in Chongqing was 100% red!
Wow, what a restaurant! A memory indeed
The mum’s face in the beginning 😂 priceless👍
哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈太有画面感了!😂😂😂
