I have the 2013 500 ho. best atv I have owned [this is my 8th atv] my first was a 1986 Yamaha moto 4 200 2wd..the sportsman has all the power you ever really need. it has enough power for just about every one 4800 trouble free miles so far. has been absolutely a joy to own
I have a 2008 sportsman X2 500 ho and it's a great machine, I run nothing but amsoil in my quads and they always purr and are much quieter than factory fluids
I know he's new to the sport but u should've told him when u come upon a sketchy looking mud hole put it in 4 low and just hammer it! (just for future reference) sweet vid tho! its good that u got him into the sport. provides more people to keep it going.
I think he was taking it easy because he was driving his uncle's machine, mine. I told him to go ahead and have fun but he's a respectful young fella. So far, he loves ATVing. Thanks for posting.
Do the old Polaris only clock the odometer in miles? I notice the analog gauges have MPH on the outside. Is this because they are American bikes and you can't change it to KM on the odometer? On the older machines like the 08 I mean. Thank you
@@EastCoastATV Good to know for the resale market. I'm looking at one now advertised to have 4,000 km on a 2008. So It's most likely 4,000 miles. That's closer to 6,500 km. Thanks for the info.
Nice vid. Thanks. I have a place that may be not far from you but im not quite sure. On Mattatall lake. Have a number of acres. Have you encounter any bear on your rides? Also, how do you like your 500 ho?
Mattatall Lake is about 70 km North of this location. This is in the Greenfield area South East of the Town of Truro. Never seen any bears. I love the 500. I'd buy another one in a minute. Once you drive one you don't want to drive anything else because they're so comfortable. They aren't as reliable as a Honda but I haven't had any major issues yet.
We have an old 330 Magnum which is bullet proof and an 01 400 sportsman that sits because all it does is over heats. My get the new 570 and maybe a 2012 400 ho
i have an 07 sportsman 500 efi and i love it. i got 27" mudlite xtrs turns them like nothing, but i did have alot of issues last year but it was electrical and the problem was old wires. i got over 8000 miles on mine and it never skips a beat
The only issue I had with my 2008 EFI was electrical too. The fuse block warped when filling an air mattress while camping. I replaced it with in line waterproof fuses and it fixed it perfectly. I sold that machine to buy an 850 last year. That was a great bike.

Glad to hear it's been such a good machine for you. I wish I kept mine!

That blue sportsman is a sharp looking quad! I love that body style quite a bit!

Thanks I liked that machine a lot. I wish I never sold it. It looked great when it was shined up.
really impressive for a stock quad!

Yes, it was just miles. The newer style ones like the 550 and 850 could be switched between mph/kmh.
