Thank you for the look around this hobby shop Throttle Power. After 3 years of having to close my brick and mortar hobby shop in High River, Alberta Canada and going strictly online (And suffering in my sales online), as well as working (Almost) full time at the local grocery store, I am really wanting to start a brick and mortar hobby shop again. I found an old business school book on how to write a business plan (As I never had one when I opened back in 2004) and my wife and I are going through the book together and discovering that we really only knew 1/2 of what the book is saying that we should have known when we started out. Anyway, now we are writing our own plan and sorting out what we want to do as a hobby shop going forward and how it should look. We are planning to re-open a new brick and mortar store and get all that going after the upcoming Canadian Federal Election. We just have to save up and get rid of our old debts from the first incarnation of Monster Hobbies and have money ahead for unforeseen business expenses as well as the foreseen ones! Again, looking at your store walk-through gives us some inspiration for ideas for opening up our store in 2025/2026. Thank you again and best of luck for Fusion Scale Hobbies!
Wow, I have never seen a shop with that kind of selection of paint! And the price in the Revell chrome spray was way cheaper than any I have seen. Thanks for the tour Tim!
Thanks for sharing this Tim. There’s nothing better than a mom and pop hobby shop. I had a train layout when I was a kid in the 80s . I wasn’t able to make ACME this year but hope to make it next year.
Thanks for the tour of this store. I live whithin driving distance & got their business card at the recent ACME show. I chuckled @10:01 you had been speaking of the weathering pencils saying "Those never go bad" just as you grabbed the Molotow chrome pens that DO go "flat" lol, if you don't hurry up & use one
Nice tour of a cool hobby shop Tim. I don't think I have ever seen a shop with that much supply for paints and supplies, especially a little shop like that. Hopefully I will get to ACME next year and I'll have to make sure to drop by and check them out. Thanks for the tour.
