Wow what an utterly amazing store...it's like a mini museum also..
I've been to Tamper once but if I ever go again I would visit this store..
Definitely is an amazing store! When we head back to Tampa, we will definitely visit again!

I went to this store when i was on Vacation, and let me tell you these guys are honest and a great business. they take care of their customers and are very helpful on seeing what you need. i was in the HO scale section and i found a nice Ore truck, however when i picked it up the side came off because it was some sort of kit. i guess i was making a weird face when i was looking at the busted part because one of the guys up front came over and asked if i was doing ok. long story short i showed him the busted part, and said i still wanted to buy it, and asked him what type of glue would work. he not only showed me a great brand, but also reduced the price of the busted car, without me even asking (it was already only 5$, and he lowered it to 2$). Overall great experience, and i grabbed a postcard that they keep up front as a souvenir.
I really enjoyed my time here at this store as well! The staff was incredibly nice and the customer service was outstanding! Definitely a must go to if you are in the area!
Love this place....will be back!!! Just moved to Florida but otr trucking....
Will visit again next time I'm in the area!
Great tour guide of the store. Thank you so very much for sharing! Makes me want to finish completing my newly constructed N Scale demo layout. I have been a serious collector for years of fine N Scale, HO Scale, 027, O Gauge and G Scale. I love this hobby so much!
Thank you so much! You definitely should finish your layout! Like you I absolutely love this hobby too! There is something for everyone in this hobby! 🚂
It's much better to look at the real stuff than looking on a web site, Very nice place.
I agree 100% I do like doing videos like this, sometimes people find items they have been on the hunt for and finally find them!! Happy railroading!
This would have been my local hobby shop if I had gotten back into trains just a couple of years earlier than I did. I left St. Pete two years before I started into model trains when I moved to California.
This train shop and the staff were a delight on Christmas Eve! The Mrs. and I decided to see what train stores were in the area. Very glad we decided to visit and film the store! Big time fan of the channel!🚂
@@will2926 how old you started like toy train ?
I worked at HR trains back when Alice was the owner. They had a store on US 19 N and I lived in the small building behind the store. Love living and working for Alice.
@@CbtrainnutAlice got the store back! She is a great boss!!
Next trip to Tampa, I am stopping at this store for sure. Thanks for showing all the detail.
Absolutely! Be sure to check out my other videos and store tour of Legacy Station!🚂
Years ago before the new owners took over, I donated a spike maul that I used when I worked on the railroad. The old owners had me drive some spikes so they could put a truck set on the rails they had set up outside.
The different railroad related items around the building and the park make this store really cool and different from most train stores I've been too. It's a really great store!!! Happy Railroading!!!
Hello, I've lived in Pinellas Park most of life, I remember the old locations of H&R trains, loved the store,at the time I had two small layouts at the time
This was my first time at HR Trains and it was an amazing store. Other viewers also told me about another store in the area that I should check out!
I would go nuts in a store like this. The last train store where I live went out of business years ago. The closest one now is 60 miles from me.
It definitely is a great train store!🚂 I know how you feel the closest train store to me, Legacy Station is 90 miles away. However it’s always worth the trip!
love the train repair shop.
Me too! There are times I wish I could step back in time to madison hardware or other hobby shops.
Went there in 2005 for my 10th birthday. I don't remember what the outside looked like lol I just remember seeing lots of CSX YN2 Genesis SD70Ms inside
I bet this store has changed since 2005! I would definitely go back if you can! Happy Railroading!!
They are gone, as July 2024. Nearby Zitnik Trains, also in Pinellas Park, is the place to go.
Impresionante... me quedo sin palabras viendo tanta maravilla. Una pregunta: hablan español en esa tienda?. Gracias por compartir el video. Saludos e un chileno viviendo en Colombia.
Some rare "Matchbox" collectibles Yesteryear in the wndow with the Maroon boxes only available through a newsletter many years ago
I dont know much about matchbox cars but I do know the hobby for Hot Wheels and other toy cars is HOT!
I’m in the UK so my model railway stuff is based on BR from the 70s to the 80s, but I could certainly spend a few quid in this shop!
Welcome to the channel!! You are my first comment (that I know of) from the UK! If you are ever in the states this store is definitely a store to visit! Check out my other train store tours! Happy railroading!
I would be divorced shopping here😂
There are moments in this hobby where we all ask ourselves "is this train going to cause a fight?" Or "I really wanted this one! (50 trains later)" 😂
Thank you for your great coverage of HR Trains and some showing of American Flyer!!1 Will now shop there.. Very few videos cover AF trains.
Thank you for your feedback! Looking at the comments there are a lot of American Flyer fans here! In the upcoming store tours, I'll take this into consideration. It is definitely helpful seeing the items up close when you can't visit in person. Thanks again!🚂
This train store is not in Tampa, it is in Pinellas Park
Correct, I made a quick edit in the video mentioning the correct location. Thank you!
Very interesting I thought us (Ready to roll trains) and roundhouse south where the only shops down here I guess not!
Very nicely done !!!!!
Thank you for the feedback!!🚂
I see they carry Hornby Models, they have been the no1 brand in the UK for trains for many years
I was surprised on the selection of different manufacturers this store had! What a great store!!! Happy Railroading!!!
Wow, great
Thank you!🚂
I was hoping you would have focused a bit more on the American Flyer! I'm down in Cape Coral not to far away I need to get u there!
Thank you for the feedback!HR Trains does have a great selection of S Scale American Flyer. In future videos I'll take this into consideration. Seeing the items closely for those who can't visit the store can be very helpful.
As a modeller myself from florida I am willing to book an uber across the state just to come here for a few hours 😂
I miss this place🙁
Same, it was sad to hear the news that they were closing. I know they provided so many of us with great years of service. Happy Railroading!
What a awesome place
Its one of the best trains stores in Florida and one of the best I've been to! Definitely a must see if you are in the area!
This made in my whole life personally! 😂😊
HR Trains was a fantastic store when we went!! One of the best train stores we've been to!! Happy Railroading!!!
@@will2926 thanks man appreciate it!
Chuff chuff, round and round,
Hey, it’s my store!
Yes! You were awesome!🚂
Us modelers could stay in that store for hours.
Hours and hours! I love train stores!
Superbe & gigantesque .
Its a very large train store!
One of the things I.Whoosh. Aathrin ded was make thar box's a little longer so 50 foot car's wood fit better
Just looked it up to get the address and it says Permanently closed, was going to make it a stop in a few weeks on my vacation.
wish they had more ho Marklin
They had a small selection but I did ask the staff and could order anything in the catalogs for marklin!
Beautiful box.... ???
Tons of them! Happy Railroading!!
Wish you guys that do these videos would tell us the viewers how much some of this stuff is that you zoom in on
Thank you for your feedback! The next store tour I'll do I'll take this into considerations. For those who can't visit the store, seeing items and prices can be very helpful.
Discretion here in Pinellas Park Florida not Tampa
I corrected myself in the video. Thank you!!
Unfortunately, as per google, shows permanently closed😢
Yes, unfortunately HR closed. They were a great store that provided so many of us with years of great service to our hobby. 🚂
Where is the store located what part of Florida is the storm I'm in Downtown Winter Haven my name is Thomas could you please tell me how to get there
7900 49th St N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781
Hope this helps!
I forget where the store is located could you please tell me
The store is located in Pinellas Park, FL. Definitely check them out!!🚂
lots of O gauge!
Tons and tons of O Gauge! HR Trains has tons of other gauges too!🚂
How much time does the average person spend inside?
We spent a long time in that store but that was our first. If you are asking me every train store I go too I spend over an hour each visit.
@@will2926, they're like traps! I would not really feel like leaving such a store.
I like all the detail parts for building scenery. The N scale parts and everything HO that have action that have sounds and smoke. American Flyer is my favorite in the traditional line etc. Dont care for Polar Express stuff in any gage at all. Too much of it is getting boring. Early HO and N is great. O guage is too big for me to be interested. Nice but far too big and expensive.
Does HR trains have a website
Yes they do!!
hrtrains.com/
which train store in Florida in?

@@will2926 Wow! That’s nice
It's an expensive hobby , you need room , expertise , money , time . Have Fun 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🏬🏢🏫🏦🏠🗻🏔️🏔️🏔️⛰️🌋
Agreed but still a great great hobby!! Happy Railroading!!!
Starter sets prices ok
I could go broke.
You would DEFINITELY go broke if you shopped there.
In this hobby we all could😂
Choo choo,
Where is this?
This store is near Tampa Florida. Tampa had a few trains stores which is always good!
@@will2926 The store is in St. Petersburg across Tampa Bay from Tampa.
@@tomschmidt3165 ZITNIK TRAINS is where I buy,Great prices and more than one manufacturer. They are in pinellas park
@@conductorjohnmthtrains2239 Hi John, I’ve been to Zitnik several times. Quite a selection of resale and new stuff at decent prices. Unfortunately I live in Tennessee now and don’t get down there very often anymore.
Hey did I just see that guy pounded his fist on the engine and then put oil on the gears that's all you need to fix these engines I think I will open up my own shop, , the old H&R train place was a hundred times better than this sad to see what's been reduced to. WOO WOO 🚂
The claw on the old Lionel e units sometimes get magnetized and get hung up. He hit it to get the claw to release and advance to the next gear direction.
Pennsy484 is correct. Sometimes these older Postwar locomotives get a little stuck. The firm hitting usually rattles the e unit into a different position if it doesnt function properly. Also this can be a good test to see if the E Unit requires a full rebuild or just a tune up.
Is there address that you can write to please
HR Trains
7900 49th St N
Pinellas Park FL 33781
You just passed up a Santa Fe blue goose and you stated I HOPE LIONEL GOT THE TOOLING FOR THAT ENGINE!!!
I really hope Lionel got that tooling! Imagine a Vision Line Santa Fe Blue Goose! That would be awesome!!!
What town is it located?
I'm not from Florida.
Pinellas Park, FL.
Kinda looks like a car dealership lol
It used to be an old car repair shop years ago!
@@will2926 That explains it
Where this location at
Permanently closed. Sad!
It is very sad. When I heard the news on the HR Trains Facebook page I couldn't believe this great store was closing. I know there are hundreds of train enthusiasts who are sad to hear this news.
$$ ??
If you are interested in a specific item/s from the video, I'd recommend calling HR Trains. They should be able to help! Happy Railroading!!!
Sucks they closed
Why do people introduce a vid with BLARING MUSIC?
Thank you for the feedback! I'll consider this in future videos.
Any O-scale there??? All I see is overpriced O-Gauge toy train 3 rail... and non of the classic era toys.
Disappointed again.
HR Trains does have plenty of O Scale Trains available. The higher end locomotives were at the front of the store and the postwar, traditional etc. trains were in the main room.
Train heaveab😢
I generally shop around for price and availability. I will not shop in Fl or Tx where there is clear discrimination.
I do the same just to ensure I can get a good price. I'm sorry that you experienced that in those states.
H&R Trains...”H”igher than “R”etail
Talking with the owner, HR Trains stands for Happy Railroading Trains.
I want to live here
Hahah me too! Its an amazing store with a great staff!🚂
