I worked in a large hobbytown for several years and the owner who was a flying buddy of mine told me one day, " you know you only have to work half days when you own your own business, you just have to decide which 12 hours you want to work, the first 12 or the second 12" lol....
This guy is a joke ran Sanford HobbyTown to the ground with his bad business piss poor knowledge, inferior knowledge of RC did nothing other than Traxxas and barely knew anything about Traxxas floating off of Mom’s dad’s money this is a old vid he is reusing
@@davidnieves2202 damn that's a shame, was fascinating and insightful and appeared to have good customer focus and heaps of energy. Any idea what the main influence(s) was for the struggle with profit?
Great video! The passion for the products sells stuff better because people gain confidence from yours. You know what you're talking about, and you stay on top of everything. That's dedication! The standing backflip was an excellent touch!!
That is a huge thing for me. I like going in and hanging out with other enthusiasts, talking ideas over, showing new builds your working on, and being able to see what your buying in person. Im in Vegas and the only hobby shores left are friendly hobby’s, thankfully they are great people.
We need a Chris in my area. All our hobby shops are a bit lacking and kind of sad. Nothing really close by or in one of the most densely populated counties in Ohio. Lots of more rural areas surrounding with tracks and courses too. We're mostly ordering online here. This actually makes me want to open up a shop and run it like Chris.
I actually called this shop a while back when I was looking for Arrma Vendettas when they were on sale. They were listed in stock online so I was calling to verify. The guy that answered the phone was super helpful, polite, and actually pointed me toward another shop that was closer to me which had the car in stock. That's good business and I'll definitely take a trip out there someday.
Wish this personality carried over to real life. In person is not the same. Not trying be negative. But you see this guy on UA-cam and you walk in excited to meet him and assuming he's an enthusiast. What you actually get is a dulled down personality that seems to want to avoid conversation. And I'm one of those customers that comes in with part numbers in hand. So all they have to do is go get the part. I even check their site to make sure it's in stock. What would be amazing is if hobby stores carried aftermarket parts from Vitavon, Scorched, M2C, Hot Racing, Integy, Custom RC Upgrades etc. For us who build custom rc's these parts are always a week away. How awesome would it be if they had an inventory of things like 7075 bulkheads or titanium axles from Scorched rc.
My local shop does carry all the aftermarket’s you mentioned, maybe not all of them but a lot anyway. Hell I thought every shop did lol, guess I’m fortunate
What a find finding you here on UA-cam, you have a awesome vibe, always smiling and making me smile here. U deserve success in you life. God bless you and your family
I loved this video so much, even if it’s not the actual rcs driving, this part of the hobby is one of the coolest ever, I visited my first hobby shop 4 months ago at age 29. Probably one of my favorite memories of Orlando after riding VelociCoaster in island of adventure lol. Anyway I just wanted to thank for sharing this video I wish you the best in your store man, I’d love to visit to get my second RC 😊
Kinda cool this video just popped up and you're about 20 miles away. When I was younger I was in to RC grasshopper hornet then a RC10. And haven't messed with it in decades. Bought a rustler from a co-worker with all kinds of problems worked out many of them, but if I can't figure out the rest this is where I'll be going
I’ve been in a hobby, for at least 25 years, it was cold to see a video how to run a hobby shop. But what would be nice is a video on how you completely got started owning your own hobby shop from start to finish because I’ve always wanted to own my own shop and I have no clue.

My local hobby shop is a Hobbytown. It, well, it's not the greatest. I learned that it has a lot to do with the area I live in. Small town. They don't carry a whole lot and it seems like they only stock what they want. Maybe that's not the case but it just doesn't make much sense how they stock things. You'd think they'd have new releases as soon as possible. They do carry anything Traxxas, but that's it. They have still yet to get a Phoenix, Fordyce, Knightwalker, Yuul, CJ7 and so on. I'm not new to the hobby but have only been in the hobby a few years. I shouldn't be more educated on stock than the stores employees. That store pick up you talked about. Yeah, I tried that twice and each time I never received an email saying it was ready and when I did go into the store to pick it up, I was told, "we don't do that here." 😂. They also have a bad habit of not keeping up with Hobbytowns website pricing. The website listed a reedy 3s xt60 lipo for $35 a couple of weeks ago. It was in stock at my lhs. So, I went to get it. They charged me $50 for this lipo. I tried to explain the price on the site and he acted clueless. I just left. I give up on them. Amain from here on out 😂
Im in the DC area and locally my fav store is "Hobby Works" Rockville MD. A guy there is great at repairs etc, but I been to some other stores nearby that might claim to be capable with RC repairs etc but imo always fell short. I wish this guys shop was nearby indeed.

the main thing you need for a hobby store like this would be the 1/4 of a million dollars it would take to start a store like this and maybe have some to float a while. so you would need to be rich or have some major credit and collateral.

I just found your channel!! I was so happy when I learned that your shop is only 20 miles away. But everything is saying that your store is permanently closed :( Did you rename the store or are you closed down?
My fave large truck is my 2 year old XRT. Its body is wearing out. I recently received a "indestructible" third party body for it after hunting high and low online for it. After almost 2 months waiting it arrived from Russia. It requires cutting etc. Do you offer decals for body? It is a 3mm thick white mold. It seems far stronger imo. Also I need new tires and was going to buy newer belted ones until I heard a rumor that due to them not ballooning like unbelted tires the "arial acrobatics" and maneuvering is compromised significantly due to belting in tires. Is this true? New subscriber. cool video. That standing backflip was "sick". Is that XRT stock out the box gears etc? I like how Traxxas has "snap on n off bodies without pins. I like their chargers ease of use. When u mentioned the "Hoss" truck I thought u meant "Hosim". lol. Main reason I no longer buy em is their use of "Phillips head screws. I only want HEX. peace.

How many pages was your marketing plan and did you create a LLC first?
Raminators aren't flying off the shelf?
I think an indoor Raminator running video could be the ticket.
What arrma cars can do a standing backflip no mods on a flat floor/ground and at whats the lowest s rating vehicle can it pull it off
I'm curious if it cost a lot to start a business like this. Seems it could cost a ton of money in inventory.
Hey Chris What is the name of your Hobby Store?? Also where is it?? Not to many questions
Here to motivate you to get a new video up!
I only want HEX. peace.
My hoss doesn't have any Phillips
How much was it to start that hobby shop business & what did you need to start? I’m thinking in the future I want to start a small shop up
Are we going to see the raminator run?
