Uninspired. Rick has a channel.
Rick! We were the “old people” (your age) who approached Nuno at the VIP “Sound Check Experience” at Hard Rock Sacramento. We told him that we “discovered” Extreme for the first time through your amazing interview (yes, really!) We are long time subscribers to your channel, but I told Nuno that he was the best interview - ever! I also told him that we now have all of their albums & love their music. He told all the other guys right there in front of us, “They found us through Beato!” They seemed very pleased to hear this. All of the guys were very kind, humble, and gracious with all the fans there. They played a great show & they were definitely “all in”. We were so excited to see this latest interview. Nuno told us that you were a genuinely nice guy - and that you “tricked” him into playing at the first interview! Rock on, Nuno- you are the greatest! THANK YOU RICK for everything that you do.❤
He's very passionate and technical. He's got no problem in revealing all his tone secrets (because he knows nobody can play like him anyway😁).

We seriously need a video series called “Nuno and Rick react to tunes they love” just you guys playing bits of tunes and reacting. Watching you guys on this is so much fun… like a combination of Bill and Ted, Wayne and Garth, and Beavis and Butthead.. this is easily one of the best videos you’ve ever made. It’s loose and focused all at once.

King Edward. It seems that in rock music, everything flows through him sooner or later. We old guys get it. Young guys - they get it though they may not know it yet.

Hope this isn't offensive but I told my wife that your channel Rick Beato is like Graham Norton for myself. It's a fantastic channel that privileges it's esoteric audience with a distanced physicality as if you've just had an encounter with one of your idles first hand. Like playing a support gig before one of the bands you're enamoured with and the guitarist comes over to chew the fat with you.
I've had those experiences but your channel is sharing this with a new or old aspiring musician. It's an amazing privilege and so encouraging to see where you've taken your UA-cam channel. What a treasure you are Rick.

What I think makes Mr. Bettencourt so endearing to us fans is that not only does he have NO PROBLEM giving Edward Van Halen proper due as a massive inspiration, friend and to keep his name alive, but he also makes no apologies to anyone for it either. Since 1978 when all of us walked around with that "wtf is THAT??!!" look on our dumbfounded faces from the debut Van Halen album coming out, Nuno never wants any of us.... or even himself.... to ever forget that "wtf is THAT??!!" feeling. The Van Halen invasion is a time-stamp in my life too and one that also wishes it could have continued on a little longer. Thank you Nuno for being, well, Nuno, thank you Nuno for being very human, and thank you Nuno for playing YOUR ass off in your own "wtf is THAT??!!!" inspirational right too. I know I speak for many, but last, thank you King Edward for making our ears bleed and smoke with your ferocious, jaw-dropping and magnificent gifts for all of us to enjoy-- especially turned up to Spinal Tap 11. You are sorely missed and that is another "wtf?" moment time-stamped in my life too. May King Edward shred in peace.
I wish you would ask everyone about their hearing. HOW could you play loud for 38 years and not have ringing or hearing loss? Nuno best interview....the guy gets it and is SO real for a rockstar. He NAILED the drum talk...spot on.
With all due respect to everyone Rick has interviewed, is anyone as passionate as Nuno is? I could listen to he and Rick talk music all day long!

I never knew much about Nuno and his bandmate. I just really like More Than Words especially since the lyrics were things are would tell people. I never realized that he is considered a virtuoso or near-virtuoso.

Thought this interview was wonderful. Rick & Nuno have such great chemistry. Loved him bringing up 8 tracks tapes. I laughed so hard as 8 tracks were so bad. Also brought back the memories of buying a 10 pack of TDK or Maxell blank cassettes so I could record albums to play in my car.
These two are the most articulate analysts/commentators on music around. Nuno is SO perceptive - not to mention hilarious! Perfect partners for a podcast.

Saw Xtreme for the first time last Saturday (03/10/2024), in St Petesburg, Fl. Living Colour opened for them (I'm actually a huge Living Colour fan, drove 4 hours from Miami just for the sake of seeing LC for the 15th time) I was totally mind blown by Nuno and the band. And on top of his playing, he's an amazing host and master of ceremony. Great show, those guys are on their prime.
Cool man, Living Colour is awesome been following them myself since Cult of Personality. Have only seen them once way back in 1995! in Auckland New Zealand.. still have the Tshirt Lol.

Was at that show too, with two of my sons 38 and 40, and I’m 68! First time seeing either band for any of us. Great show!!

I have a good friend who was the bass player for a new pop rock guy in the late 70s who EVERYBODY knows ( won't say the name, but he was from IN) that told me "stop thinking and just F*&%ing play". Good to hear that works for Nuno and many others. I have alot of work to do now.
You should have an interview with Nuno once per month.
To be honest, the "Get the funk out" solo is the best of all times! How it starts, then when you think it's "peaking", it just goes off on another level and leaves you stunned....👌🏼🔥🎸🤘🏼🎸

Nuno is always a riot in interviews. You never know what he will say to questions. Kind of like his playing. I am proud to have Extreme as a band come from Massachusetts.
Ok let me say one stupid thing... there is something magic happening only on the Rick's channel: two f**ing BIG stars and pros and artists of the music scene (each one in his area) are talking like two school buddies that are crazy for music and rock and gear and records (but with all the know-how they have!).
The genuine enthusiasm and passion in each word and in the faces and in the eyes... wow... it's like you are there and are listening Eruption for the first time with them!!!
And... to me... this is what make Nuno (apart the f*ing monster gutarist and musician he is) a no-age musician and Rick the best music's ambassador in the whole YT.

I feel like the way Nuno converses is a window into how his guitar playing works and how his mind and body work together to execute functions. It's almost as if he is discovering what he going to say several seconds into the future while he just allows his voice to carry out the plans that have been made several seconds ago. I would bet that a brain scan would show a highly-developed, highly active hippocampus. Also - Watch the eyes - the eye's are always darting around while navigating through thoughts, which I think indicates that the visual/spatial parts of the brain are being used quite heavily to process the ideas and stories. However, he's still very able to stay engaged with Rick through use of body language even if the eye contact is heavily intermittent.
