Best video in my opinion to explain every step in backswing. You two formed a great team to put the mechanism and drills together. The video is professionally done with two different views, and Tiger’s swing is being used at appropriate times convincingly. Nicely done. I expect the “downswing “ part is even more exciting because that’s where DRIVING happens. Can’t wait to see that!!!

I've watched a ton of golf videos, probably way too many. This one has by far made the biggest impact on my golf game and in particular my driving. Raising may arms higher and facing my back hand up on the back swing has added 10-20 mph swing speed, and 20-25 yards to my driver. Thanks so much for the great video!

Hands down one of the best golf coaches on the planet. By teaching me what it "feels" like as opposed to "try this" he completely changed the game for me. I went from a 19.2 index to a 13.5 after the first three months of lessons with JT. 2 years later and I'm in single digit territory with a 290 yard driver average and 48% FIR (Arccos data). Thanks for everything JT!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This looks so promising to me. I've recently had success by shortening my backswing because I felt I was throwing my power away as I approached the top. Even saying 'top' tells me I was thinking high instead of back with my slinging trail arm. With this video I believe I can now continue to build that power all the way back. I kind of knew I had to do that but didn't know how. That I have a very stretched ribcage and arms now after working through this in my living room is a great sign. :) Eric, I loved how you focused on pausing to explain the pieces and the looks/feels. Very nicely done!

For me, a flippy 9 goes approx. 115 yards. When I get into the slot, between 140 to 150.
Getting into the slot eliminates over the top and steep swings. I wish I knew this when I first started playing.

Good and bad of watching so many Cogorno videos. I’m a skosh confused about right elbow. With Saguto there’s a huge emphasis on keeping that right elbow tucked to the side, this is obviously pulling away with right arm getting right arm quite away from the side. Is that more iron and not so much driver?
I do notice when trying to get right arm in side I snaphook the crap out of it also.

Honestly I would say from Saguto to Jt just have different philosophies/ways to do it.
Neither "right" or "wrong" per say.
If you look at best players you'll see both
I would test and see which works best for each player----sorry with I had an easier answer but it really just depends. Similar to GRIP....not just ONE "right" way but rather several options that could work that each promote different things...

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 місяці тому

Hey! Likely you are talking about FEEL vs REAL.....of course the arm needs to bend....let's say 90* bent at top on average....I would assume you were bending TOO MUCH which is why your coach said feel farther (just to get to normal)
We can OVERDO or UNDERDO anything. Right arm can be too bent and can also be too straight. 90ish at top is good place to shoot for

Like the turn drills Eric but JT's top of swing looks counter -intuitive to S&T lifting right elbow away from rib cage and raises left arm higher above shoulder. What say you? Be good-Russ

Hey Russ! Def a bit more "lifting" of the arms here to help with SPEED and DISTANCE

Absolutely brilliant instruction, however, not really suited to people who are senior golfers with varying limitations due to arthritis etc

My club is pointing toward the target at the top of my swing now instead of laying it out. No crazy compensation s on my downswing. Effortless. Also makes me remember the tip, "squirrel runs back then up the tree"

He may "feel" like he's getting that trail elbow past the butt line, but in his "real" swing at 13:14 and 18:16 it stops at the heel line, just like Tiger.

Im 75 and for years i have been trying to hit the ball harder and further. The older i get the more i laugh ate you blokes telling me the best swing for seniors, its total rubish. I have learned to swing the club at the ball and just watch i go, and im happy with 180 or 200 yards. The other thing, its not the clubs you buy to try improve its your atittude to the game.

That's where you go wrong. You should try and swing faster, not hit harder

Great simple explanation of the take away. However, the delivery of the club to the ball bit is missing. Just having good back swing form does not equal good driving. Is there another video?

Mate im 75 and have no athleticism, i try swing slower and then faste, the ball still goes th same distance, im thinking of getting some ladies clubs to see if tht helps.@@richardpascoe1859

More JT, less Eric would have made this a much better idea. I realize it’s your show, but talk less and let the teacher speak. Nobody needs to know what they’re doing wrong, the ball tells them that. We need to see how to do it right and then let the magic happen.

Disagree, Eric asked a lot of the questions I would have asked. I tried this swing toady and knocked 7 strokes off my game with longer and better drives. I picked up about 15-20 yards.

If you don’t like the details, and you just want to get to what you consider the “point”, Eric always recaps the basic points at the end of every single video. Just fast forward and your problem is solved.

      Hey Levi!
You want to do them THE MOST with driver to increase distance but can do them with all clubs if you want more distance there as well...less and less as the clubs get shorter but still SOME
