Like Phantom mentioned Blue could have done the same as you discarding city resources. One thing I notice watching your videos is that other players either move too fast in their decision causing blunders like missing chances to be fed something they need. It shows how your play is at another level. Congrats

Insane game! Super fun play and a very collaborative table (that helped you as much as they needed to but any earlier knight would have turned that help into "too much"). Also love you two together!
Makes me wonder what would have happend if you had played the knight instead of the mono and thus taken army. Sure the opportunity was enticing, but you could have ripping a bunch ore later.

I like the mono, I think its worth the risk. if you play the knight you just dont get the production and red keeps a bunch of ore and might even be able to pace you

In the beginning, why do you focus on poping devs over settling at sheep port and use your ores to city up? I remember you mentioned about getting production up in early game.
Probably pacing (not getting ahead too early), but I agree - would def have gotten the port and then citied (red is already public enemy #1, so pacing isn’t as big of a concern)
Great question! It’s a tough call but I am looking for utility on the the devs…. YOPs, RBs, Monos. Knights and VPs allow my to fight army as well. I was looking for my natural production to get me to the sheep port while I get some kind of footing on army which was really my biggest opportunity to win given the win-conditions.
@@dandydrew I had played a few games similar to this where I have the devs to fight for army, but not having enough productions to keep the army, I struggle finding the balance between production and buying devs in the beginning.

I don’t get it: at 35:29, why didn’t you play a knight and take army to win?
I was thinking the same thing, was it a pacing issue at that point? Did he forget about it due to the mono play?
Question: Why did he not push the knights earlier when he got like 2x of them to make sure to take the lead for army from red and not leave it to equal with him and unblock the wood?

Why did they start by heading towards the desert? Either other direction would have given a better start.

You fumbled the win at 31:00. Could have build 3 cities with the resources gathered and traded in sheep for additional wheat and played your knight to get largest army
i thought the same first time, but he actually used a card that round so he wasn't able to catch up with knights
dandy, i know you're a pro but you still need to learn the lingo a bit. a strategy like this is called THE SHEEP GAMBIT
