I just dipped my stock 06 Explorer wheels in Stealth Grey. I love the color and how nice and flat the Hyperdip goes on. I also ordered some Piano Black for the grille and emblems. Excellent product and tutorials as always!
Definately recommend the trigger sprayer. My ability to spray the 3-4 dust coats (now not so many) and the 4- wet coats went from right handed to left handed and then with thumbs as fatigue and pain built up. Great finish. Will try this out on my summer wheels.
I don’t know if your willing to try it but I’m curious if you can do a pearl over your actual paint without a base coat and how it would peel off without the base
I'm guessing that the first time you remove the lug nuts it messes up the look a little bit by tearing away the dip? Would it be better not to spray the lug nuts?
Love the color...and, could see using it on other areas (such as the grill)...but, wouldn't it be easier/smarter to remove the wheels from the car, spray, peel excess from tire, and then put the wheel back on the car? In doing that, not only do you not have to deal with any plastic to 'protect' the brake rotors & calipers, but you also don't have to worry about any overspray getting on the car. Plus, you have MUCH better control over spray (ie. with the tires posting flat, and outer side of wheels facing up, the rattle can is always in an upright position). Having sprayed enough RC bodies, I know what happens when the spray cans get rolled sideways...it ain't pretty.
I knew someone in the comments would be thinking the same thing I was. Just seems like the easiest way to do it. The only reason I can think of for doing it mounted is the lug nuts got sprayed too.
100% more efficient doing it off the car. I have no idea how anyone does it without massive overspray everywhere. Way less time just getting the wheels off/on & no mess to clean up on your paint.
@@Boone1981 That was maybe my reason for not doing it mounted. It looks nice if the lugs are dip'd if you don't care for the look of chrome lug nuts against grey, but what happens when you remote a lug nut? I'm guessing that tears the plastic dip and looks "shredded" maybe when you put the lugs back on? Has anyone experienced what happens when a dip'd lug nut is removed?
When I was shopping for dip a few years back...I watched the "Ultra" video, which is like the same exact color, and you guys did it on the same exact car. Different color shirt though!
First of all you never want to wash the wheels with soap and water before spraying them. If you want to wash them first, you need to wait 24 hours for them to fully dry before dipping. The moisture gets trapped and can cause serious adhesion issues. Removing the wheels is personal preference. Spraying them on or off the car both work fine, just make sure if you remove them you don't lay the wheels flat down - the spray cans have to be upright to spray properly.
@@dipyourcar Thank you for a good and detailed answer. I have done it this way myself earlier.. But I used a pressure washer, and to dry them up I used a leaf blower, microfiber cloth towels and a heat gun. Think I will try the way you have showed, the next time I dip my wheels.
I ordered this thing. My only complaint is the release liquid, it did not work at all. It's greasy, and after applying it I was never able to remove it. The wheel was all greasy and even after washing it I was not even able to put masking tape to mask the tires, the surface of the tire is not taking any masking tape.
Been searching but not able to find an answer. How well does this stand up to tire changing machines? I am looking at some wheels and would like to dip them before getting the tires and having them mounted
Well Fonzie do you offer the plastic dip or the hyper dip in a different color the color of my car is a gunmetal gray the wheels on my car they are silver what would make a good color combo that wouldn't pop and stick out but it's still being nice color for a rim
How about touch ups ? Like when changing tires ? Can you touch it up ? And do you have any videos of getting it off wheels after a year or two being on ? I know old Plastidip is a bitch to get off. I e resorted to using acetone or denatured alcohol and a pressure washer in the past. Just ordered this for my wife’s new Sorrento and a wheel kit for my G8
Looked obviously amazing and so sick that it can be applied while the wheel is still on the vehicle. Question though, do you know how long it is expected to last?
I've had anthracite gray on for just about a yr. Had 3 valve stems replaced & an alignment, brutal winter & tons of washes. It pealed in a few spots (from tire reinstallation) but beside that, it still looks great & cleans very easily.
I just saw you donate to the Dr Disrespect for the holidays. You guys should do a black steele partnership when he releases the bourbon and you guys release a new color/kit!
How would this stuff go on a motorcycle wheel seeing its more exposed ? probably woulda taken the wheels off and sprayed em , you'd wanna hope you don't get a puncture and have to remove those wheel nuts that are dipped on

*Hope everyone has an awesome week!*
Is there an equivalent product if I wanted to also dip the hood and trunk of my car in the matching color? Thank you!
Hi there what colours are available?

This looks PERFECT! I have a set of wheels that is screaming out for this color.

All the chrome accents and wheels on my grand Cherokee would look good in that color. Its a dark grey almost black color.

Better stop spoiling us with 2 videos in a matter of days. We gonna want multiple a week. Bawhahaha 🤣
How do the lug nuts and lug holes hold up when doing the rotation or the change?
I like the nozzle on your spray can, is that something you added?
Simply put... better than oem... hands down... it just is!!!
Would it be easier to remove the wheels, to wash and rinse them before spraying them. Then mount them back at the car.
Really nice color!

If only it was available in the uk 😭 great product by the way. Looks fantastic
DAAAAMMMMMM 🔥, Jesus what an unbelievable color
Is the durability effected by the finish you choose? Like is gloss more durable than satin?

Any update on brass monkey availability?
How well does Hyperdip stand up to automatic car washes??
I have a challenge for you . 2022 ford f150 lariat ford emblem done in stealth grey and black. Can it be done?
Will it stick to fillers if I need to repair wheels?
Can you do an updated hyperdip video? Specifically I’m interested is a side by side comparison of the different black hyperdips.
I actually think that stealth grey would look great on the chrome trim of a black car.
I like the color.
That looks really good might try it on the e90
Love it. What masking product did you use to mask the tire and the center caps?
Hey man being the paint is flexible is it a good choice for truck coil springs
Could be a stupid question but could hyperdip be applied to already powder coated wheels? Or already painted wheels? Thanks
Look like it would match up well with my Mazda Machine grey
How many cans for 4 wheels is needed?
It looks so good!!!
Will the dip come off if you have to get a new tire put on?
Any chances to get this products in europe?
How long between each coat should we let dry?
Clear dip? Maybe clear with some color transformation?
anthracite grey or stealth? On a silver car
Been searching but not able to find an answer. How well does this stand up to tire changing machines? I am looking at some wheels and would like to dip them before getting the tires and having them mounted
Looks like a Subaru Magnetite Gray. Looks pretty cool on wheels.
Whats the durability on these
Great job Maestro 👍👍💪👀

Have you done two (2) colors on the wheels? My wheels are such I plan to do a base color and then a small accent color.
Any info on releasing a silver in hyper dip?

does the inside of the rim get painted ok with this method?
I need a side by side comparison of stealth gray and anthracite gray to see which color is close to my modern steel metallic civic.
How can I get the Stealth Grey HyperDip Wheel Kit in Canada?
Where can I buy this in Australia? Thanks.
Looks amazing
How about a stock BBS gray like those Evo wheels before you dipped them?
But what about the inner barrel?
Like the color.
I Have a request, can we get Stealth Grey HD next to Anthracite HD? I cant pick between the two i want for my car
Hi Fonzi, Love your videos. Do you ship to Europe or have a distributor here in Netherlands?
I reckon this wont survive a tire change? looks sick tho
Not really. Overall, it'll still likely look alright but at least 1 wheel is gonna get a tear along the lip.
Can we use this on emblems and grilles as well?
Absolutely!
Looked obviously amazing and so sick that it can be applied while the wheel is still on the vehicle. Question though, do you know how long it is expected to last?

@@RothBeyondTheGrave thanks! It’s good to hear how someone actually liked it.
@@RothBeyondTheGrave thanks for the feedback. That is a huge pt.
Nice, nice 👏😎
Yess!
That is nice can I do that to chrome rims
Looks like it's time for a rear brake job 🤔
I need that one that was too silvery
I'm not seeing a huge difference between Stealth Grey and Anthracite Grey. Maybe a little darker, a little glossier?
Stealth is deeper, slightly more metallic and of course quite a bit glossier than the Satin Anthracite.
I just saw you donate to the Dr Disrespect for the holidays. You guys should do a black steele partnership when he releases the bourbon and you guys release a new color/kit!
id like to the hyper dip grays side by side
Oil Rubbed Bronze Metallic
does anyone have this color wheel on a maroonish color car?
Where do I order some
Links to the products are in the video description above
How would this stuff go on a motorcycle wheel seeing its more exposed ? probably woulda taken the wheels off and sprayed em , you'd wanna hope you don't get a puncture and have to remove those wheel nuts that are dipped on
Can I see Blue Quartz with Lava?
I wonder what that color would look like on a whole car.
Bro you sell your product just in us ? 🥲
I'ma spray my car using a can & spray handle! Thanks Fonzie! 👍🏽 Jk
