Not the color I would paint my car. But if I saw someone driving it or saw it parked, I would definitely take a good look and admire the colorful effects. The kinda bronze overall tone coupled with the wide range of colors as the camera moves around the car is stunning. Great result for a whacky experiment. You have to do more like this!

I love the color combo. It gives me real steampunk vibes with the brass, gold, and copper transitions with a bit of the green hits. I also love the glitter effect when you get close. 5/5! Just wish you could replicate it.
Gotta say you guys got really lucky that none of those had much in the blue range. How you took 4 random pearls and ended up with anything other than brown was kind of a miracle!

It's a damn shame you don't know what that mix consists of. That was gorgeous. It shifted from burnt bronze to gold, to green, to black, to purple nicely. Out of all the videos I've watched, this one really hits me, love the color.
i don't understand how he wouldn't know. he still has the cans. they aren't empty. paint analisis exists. and if you look at the video you can tell wich colors came from wich can. and maybe with that info he can tell/guess wich pearls they were.
@@darkracer1252 Right around the 50 second mark he said that sometimes the cans didn't get labeled when put up, and the 4 cans he has were all unlabeled. That's why he didn't know what they were.
It would probably be a pain but if you do this again you should absolutely considering doing half the car with a white base and the other half with a black base so you can see what it would look like with different levels of brightness in the base. I think this would have looked amazing on a white base.

Trippy! I see mainly brown, copper and some gold. There were a couple shots coming down over and below the front fender where I saw lime gold. Then, as it's driving away at the end, I saw shades of green.
WOW! That's almost like a reddish-copper sickness we didn't know was needed in our lives. Too bad you didn't have the exact loads because it actually turned out top shelf sweet. Thank you as always!!! Looks amazing & unique!

Despite the subtle green and gold hues, this really does look like a killer root beer! I love how this worked out!! Someone here suggested letting 4 different employees pick out a pearl of their choice and seeing what happens, I LOVE that idea!!! Great run guys 👍🏼👍🏼

The first one looks like it was one of the weird combos like a candy red and gold maybe but it definitely came out of the can looking like mud oil 🤣 It ends up coming out a crazy mustard gold to red to brown to even black. It's insane, I love the result

4/5 for me, maybe even leaning towards 5. Kinda reminds me of coffee, both in literal color as well as the complexity of the colors, just like coffee is known for complexity in its flavor profile. Definitely worth the experiment!
Definitely a lot nicer than I expected. The couple of times I’ve done this I ended up with either a sick brown or ugly gray. I don’t know how transparent this paint was, but woulda liked to have seen it on a white or silver base coat.
That happens almost always when you mix opposite colors, depending on the paint(s) used of course. Most of the time you can get away with it if you steer clear from the direct opposites, as in, don't add yellow to a purple, but you could be ok adding (at least some) green or orange. I was thinking it could have been better on a white base as well.

A+ to the person recommending this, and A+ to you both for sticking it out!! The very first shot with that yellow popping had me cussing out loud, the colors in this are just amazing, especially that head on shot where all you see is a yellow hood and everything else is black. 6/5!!
he still has the 4 cans. he could have them analized. but you can already tell the first one was the purple (you can see it when he poors it into the big jug.) the second one is the orange/amber. third one is the sparkles. and final one is green/yellow (sometimes gold?) the gold might also be part of the third can.
They can replicate it. There's a machine that you can place on a car that analyses he paint and gives you an RGB code. I don't know what it's called. But, I saw one used on that Power Nation show once.

Love the end result, so many colors from different angles. Saw a deep cherry red - faded rose - honey gold - apple(?) green. All hidden under a brownish copper facade
Love the idea of using leftovers! I do think mixing them will turn up somewhat orange/brown/darkish every time though. Instead of mixing, perhaps use each leftover individually and make a car with diagonal stripes with each their own colour? You can check the colours upfront and then make a nice palette or colour order out of them 🙂
Honestly that was a really fun episode, and the result is really good ! the gold reflect pops so suddenly and unexpectedly from the burgundy/pumpkin color. there's even a greenish hue at some point. 👍
Just from the first couple minutes - y'all really need one of those paint can shakers like they've got at the home improvement stores for this sort of project.
That's actually a pretty sweet result. I wasn't expecting all that variation. Pretty amazed at how lost the bright orange and holographic flake ended up being in the dark result.
That shifted so many different colors, all of them looked really neat. I wonder if a grey base might make this brighter colors. I bet ya wish ya knew the combination. Aside from the PINK tones, I loved all the colors this showed. Even the pink was pretty damn cool looking.

Lol, 35 years in the business, there is nothing random about this. Every can used looked brand new with no indication anything had ever been poured out of them. That just is not possible if the backstory were true. Don't buy the bullshit...

This colour at the mixing stage reminds me of lava flow when it's starting to darken but still flowing so keeps being broken. Looks GORGEOUS. And once sprayed... I think Dragon Blood is a cool name. I imagine that's what it would look like.
it looks good, but i think the reason stuff was hard to identify is that something was breaking down in parts 1 and 4, pull some of the metallic leftovers you have labeled and see what they look like

I have seen crazy things at my dad's car shop, but this had me laughing so hard. The dumbest idea absolutely looks like by far my favorite result! The color shift is ridiculously cool. The camera catches that orange. Then it looks purple almost then green after is passes by. Weird as hell, but amazing!

From mixing alot of colors, my takeaway is that most combinations of 4 or more colors turn out brownish. But this with a black base turned out great, greenish-copper-orange-red.

You get more "pop" with the black base. Colors would pop less and blend more with a white base.

When I was a painter We would clean out the cabinets once a year. 50+ colors. Most of the time We got a brown,or purple.

Probably most dynamic shifts in color range I’ve seen. Run the remainder through a spectrum analyzer! Would love to get this pigment!

What would concern me about putting this on a white base is that it could make some flaws stand out stronger. High risk, but high reward too.

Mixing miscellaneous colors almost always gives you a brown. The metallic sheen is a nice touch.

Looks like can #4 might be an unsettled/separated gallon of can #1 (when it's poured into the beaker). Ended up with a flaky Root Beer. I dig it. 4/5

The depth of shift and tones is awesome! Very risky, but oh so worth it. When I saw the tones being poured, I figured it might be worth it.

Love the end result, so many colors from different angles. Saw a deep cherry red - faded rose - honey gold - apple(?) green. All hidden under a brownish copper facade
I love the mystery color projects. I also love watching the reaction of "what did I get into" change to "that was pretty awesome".
Love the idea of using leftovers! I do think mixing them will turn up somewhat orange/brown/darkish every time though. Instead of mixing, perhaps use each leftover individually and make a car with diagonal stripes with each their own colour? You can check the colours upfront and then make a nice palette or colour order out of them 🙂

Honestly that was a really fun episode, and the result is really good ! the gold reflect pops so suddenly and unexpectedly from the burgundy/pumpkin color. there's even a greenish hue at some point.

Just from the first couple minutes - y'all really need one of those paint can shakers like they've got at the home improvement stores for this sort of project.
It looks like a sort of aged bronze colour... and yeah, more mystery mixes please!
That's actually a pretty sweet result. I wasn't expecting all that variation. Pretty amazed at how lost the bright orange and holographic flake ended up being in the dark result.
That shifted so many different colors, all of them looked really neat. I wonder if a grey base might make this brighter colors. I bet ya wish ya knew the combination. Aside from the PINK tones, I loved all the colors this showed. Even the pink was pretty damn cool looking.
Love the experiment! Definitely need to do more of these. the end result for a random mix should be available to buy it’s that good. The colour shifts work incredible together and the colours have a really warm feel 5/5
The colors mixed really well and actually complemented the M3.I would love to see more of these random selections mixed. Sure there will be ones that don't work but you will never know unless you try them out.
Lol, 35 years in the business, there is nothing random about this. Every can used looked brand new with no indication anything had ever been poured out of them. That just is not possible if the backstory were true. Don't buy the bullshit...

This colour at the mixing stage reminds me of lava flow when it's starting to darken but still flowing so keeps being broken. Looks GORGEOUS.
And once sprayed... I think Dragon Blood is a cool name. I imagine that's what it would look like.
it looks good, but i think the reason stuff was hard to identify is that something was breaking down in parts 1 and 4, pull some of the metallic leftovers you have labeled and see what they look like

I have seen crazy things at my dad's car shop, but this had me laughing so hard. The dumbest idea absolutely looks like by far my favorite result! The color shift is ridiculously cool. The camera catches that orange. Then it looks purple almost then green after is passes by. Weird as hell, but amazing!

That was a pretty sweet deal. Gotta do it in my shop at least once. I’ve retired the paint booth to younger eyes, 44 yrs behind a gun has done mine in. I truly enjoy sitting at my desk and watching you guys get at it. Keep’em coming boys.
From mixing alot of colors, my takeaway is that most combinations of 4 or more colors turn out brownish. But this with a black base turned out great, greenish-copper-orange-red.
It's almost got a gold hue.
Shame this can not be recreated. It looks amazing and is now one of my favorites.

For having 4 completely different colors or maybe pearls, this looks extremely good being able to shift from one color to another similar color.
That shift blows my mind 🤯 turned out sooooo good! So unique. My favourite addition is the holo ✌🏻
