Love to see the Bevor (the piece of armour that protects the neck) on your protagonist! Goes perfectly with the Sallet helmet! This is the most underrated armour piece in modern films/video games. At least 90% of combat deaths could have been avoided in Game of Thrones if the characters wore a bevor or a gorget.
I've taken up Armor Fighting as part of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and the gorget is _required_ for armor. In fact, I might need to look into a bevor as well.
I was thinking about this game the other day, but realized I couldn't remember the name. I appreciate the reupload so UA-cam could recommended it to me again.
Wooo looks amazing, I'm glad we're getting a new Hylicslike game. The Hylics games were extremely trippy and cool looking, so it's awesome that someone is making a new game in that style with this one here.
AAA games thinking they have to be the most realistic thing ever, but some of us grew up playing these types of games with 'terrible graphics' - the PS1 era, or even OG Xbox with PS2. Graphics don't matter at the end of the day as long as the game is good, and this one looks pretty good on the surface.
Gameplay is obviously always king, it's always the most important thing in a video _GAME,_ hence the name. But graphics are _NOT_ unimportant. At least not as much as you're saying. They can be absolutely vital to setting the right mood and immersion for a game. We people who grew up with the first generation of 3D graphics with the PS1 and N64, when the ps2 came out with Gran Turismo 3, we all hit the roof because of how amazing it looked, it looked like photorealistic real life cars racing. Same with when Half Life 2 came out, it looked identical to actual real life, it was the best looking game ever made up to that point. Of course, looking back at those games now in 2024, it's laughable we ever thought those games looked like real life, because they're not even close lol. But we did think that, back then. MGS 2 was highly anticipated too, not really as much for the gameplay which we assumed would be much the same style as MGS 1, but for the graphics and power of the consoles that would run it (cos it came out for the Xbox too). The characters looked more realistic than any other game, every single item was carefully designed by hand and programmed to react in certain ways when getting hit with a bullet, like when you shoot any item of food it explodes or gets a hole where the rice or flour or whatever falls through onto the floor. That was all done manually by hand, whereas these days the game development engines devs use do that kind of thing automatically. But back in the year 2000 and 2001, they had to create every little thing like that manually by hand. That's why it's absolutely stunning and incredible, really. It took an insane amount of work. That's why it's quite a short and small game. Because every area, though there's few of them, is incredibly dense with stuff to do and things to interact with. The best kind of graphics are graphics which are necessary for the gameplay and help the gameplay move along smoother. For example every 3D game these days has a certain colour or way of making things stand out in a scene, like for instance having light shine on it so it's always brighter than everything else on the screen, or it's got white or yellow paint on it, or whatever, and that is done to indicate when you can climb them or interact with them to progress. It's become a really common thing. That's just 1 example. There are thousands of examples of things like that where graphics are not just there to look pretty and make the coding/programming side of the game be accessible to players, but instead the good graphics are a necessary part of the game and affect the gameplay and make the gameplay better. And let's not forget accessibility. Quite a few modern games (for example the Last of Us part 1 & 2 remakes) are fantastic for including settings these days to change the graphics for legally blind people so they can actually see and play the game (the vast majority of legally blind people can see, they just can't see very well at all), by doing things like making the entire background/environment grey, and making the appearance of each enemy just a silhouette of almost solid red, or whatever colour is easiest for the legally blind gamer, they can choose. I've heard this is why UA-cam's video player has red on the playbar showing where it is in the video and grey for how much is left for the video and you can drag and drop the red dot where you want, because for whatever reason, most legally blind people can see red on grey and distinguish them easier than other colour combinations. But for those who can't, they can choose whatever colours they want, and make it possible for them to play these games when they otherwise would never be able to. Same thing of course for colour blind people, they're able to change the colours of everything in the game, even things like the colour of the UI on screen showing ammo and health and that sort of thing, plus the colours used in the menus for when an object is highlighted and not highlighted, just as an example, because some people are colourblind to the point where they can't tell which words/titles are highlighted, so they can change it to whatever colours they want. These are some of the more explicit and obvious examples that you probably already know already. But these days, yeah, graphics are no longer there just to look pretty. They actually affect and enhance the gameplay, plus they are there for environmental storytelling which can REALLY really enhance a games story and make it much better (like again, the Last of Us games have so much interesting stuff lying around in drawers and safes, that make the story all the better, and they're things that a lot of players miss the first time they play the game cos they're focused on progressing and aren't searching everywhere for every hidden thing, though they SHOULD be.
Amazing work to each person in involved in this game. I can't remember a time where I haven't had fun in the game!🎉 looking forward to seeing more games from you❤

A curious situation. I would normally play foreign games in English, however I am Polish and my language is similar enough that I can understand the Slovak from the promotional screenshots. So now I wonder if I would be able to understand the whole game like this, especially since it would be more immersive and nothing would be lost in translation to the more culturally distant English. I also find it a bit strange to call the game a JRPG. After all, it was made in Slovakia and is centered around it, so why would anyone call it Japanese?
