Buddy you talk mad smack about Hussites for someone with windows in their house
"Im surprised an rpg maker game can still be successful these days"
Fear and hunger 1 & 2. And this.
It’s funny an innocent character like Kirby is telling me about Funger. But yeah, those are successful to.
@@missrebel634 true, I’ll lop Deltarune in with Undertale, but I hear Omori has a cult following.
The main character face looks like a meme, I can’t take that man seriously.
He reminds me so much of Harry Du Bois, from Disco Elysium. A drunk depressed cop who has a weird expression stuck on his face that he cant get rid of.
@@heibk-2019 tequila sunset much like this man gets the job done though . . . What that job is exactly can get muddled
The hussites irl actually did win in the end. They forced the pope to adopt their reform and the pope actually praised jan hus and his peoples moral integrity. The moderates who were happy with getting everything they wanted then went to help the catholics beat the extremists who wanted to destroy the church itself.
Yeah, that end part is what I interpreted the hussites in game as, the extremists, not the whole.
@@mgedecim8tors Well the game takes place after the hussite wars. The hussites in the game are hussite merceneries led by Jan Jiskra who was send there by queen Elizabeth of Luxemburg to take care of her estates after she fled Hungary (or atleast according to wikipedia)
the Jan Hus slander is off the charts !!
You missed bombing the water sprite after throwing enough coins in the castle well. Anicka can survive if you tell her not to go.
@@mgedecim8tors A problem I've seen you do constantly is pronouncing slavic napes in a western way.
Like how you say Matej as "mah-tezh" instead of "ma-tei".
Id argue Hussites were more of a pseudo-protestant group rather than actually Roman Catholic but great video either way. Digging the focus on indie games :3
Especially when they leaned more heavily into millennial themes than the Catholic Church ever did since it advocated an overthrow of social order on any basis of iniquity, be it anything personal or otherwise.
Also, cast purge upon the enemies with buffs.
The Hussites actually still exist. The Moravian Church traces its roots to them.
Really lovely review. Your inconsistent pronunciation of Matej's name was a nice untitentinal running gag. Maybe I should do a drinking game over this :D
The Hussites were early protestants and the situation was way more complicated.
Also, it's the 15th century, not 14th.
peasants: flying Jews in balloons i tell ya demons in the castle and hussites in the woods . wandering knight :okay sure buddy which way to the inn
holy shit that run/walk animation
Thank you for this video! Kinda hard to understand the dialogue at times so this helped
Turkish Beans? They need to be processed to get their powers? Are the purple beans some kind of coffee?
Yes, really good coffee. Then they’re processed to also brainwash people.
Watch yourself around windows and long sticks with dangly bits at the end if you know whats good for you.
All history from this region for all time is like "They continued to fight each other after a shaky, short lived peace." Minor Catholic victory.
Excellent video here! I felt the summary was pretty concise alongside the enjoyable commentary on your part. One thing I'd like to point out is the music you used. I heard songs from both DRG and Laika: Aged Through Blood, which surprised me a bit. I wonder what sort of other niche titles you'll be looking at in the future.
Game feels very inspired by Sapkowski works, author of Witcher series, imo his hussite trilogy, which is similiar to felvidek in terms of its story and setting, is much better than the witcher itself and i recommend reading that to everyone
As the guy who's officially localising this game into Japanese, I can tell you the pronunciation of Matej is 'Matei' (like mah-tay) tay rhyming with 'tray'.
Anyway good video. :)
Berserk 1997 but drunked
Game story like this will give you many video. You should make more. I also recommend fading afternoon
Great video, MGE man! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Adam smoked him! Hell yeah!
The only thing I don’t like about this game is that the item name for the protagonist‘s character is old bassinet even tho it‘s a German Sallet helm as we see in the intro…
How do you find these games
I search new indie games on UA-cam. Whatever the most interesting game is, I cover.
Talking about random indie games can help a lot. Stuff like the Zeno Clash series (prequel Clash: Artifacts of Chaos came out in 2023), Cookie Cutter, No Straight Roads, Wuppo, Harold Halibut, Soulstice, Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip, My Familiair, Duck Detective: The Secret Salami, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, Genokids, Kings of Hell, Tohu, anything by Amanita Design, Zoink! and Moonhood Studio... there's so much out there deserving to be more known. Regardless of how tough it is to actually get out word of all those.
@@jurtheorc8117 I’ll unironically look through these and see if any hold my attention.
@@mgedecim8tors That makes me very glad and delighted to hear! No promises you'll like every one of them, let alone love them, (i don't know your specific tastes), but I hope you'll walk away from these games or remember them with a positive lasting impact and can spread word on them to people who are interested.
Soulstice is one of my personal favourites and a good newcomer in the hack-and-slash/character action (Darksiders, DMC, Bayonetta-type stuff) genre, but i've seen people say that either the middle or the beginning drags on, a central mechanic is rather divisive, and the camera... isn't as optimal as it could be.
But still, for a newcomer in a genre so little-catered to these days, it does a lot of good stuff, has a cool world with fairly extensive lore and nice writing, and moment-to-moment gameplay does *feel* good with a boatload of different enemy types and weapons.
I'm saying this all because part of me is nervous that this may be the game you'll dip from the soonest, which i assume from... pretty much nothing, but nonetheless I hope you may spread word of that one. Perhaps to friends that are fan of the genre.
The Zeno Clash series will probably more easily hold one's attention for how weird the art direction is. And the protagonist of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos specifically is uncannily weird and ugly and I love him.
Cookie Cutter was also a favourite. It's a solid game as is that took a long time to make. The lead dev is quick on the draw in asking for criticism/mentions of bugs to make the base game as technically solid as can be, and loves to share ideas on twitter.
He has stated his desire to further build up the base game, with stuff like new NPCs, quests, enemies, areas, story beats, bosses, and weapons.
The most recent weapon idea he teased was a robot gimp that gets used like a whip, a shield and a skipping rope. (Weapons so far include a metal fist, a chainsaw, an electric guitar and two others).
Like i said, i do hope you'll find them all interesting or at least look back on them all positively after looking into them.
Have a good one and take care.
Lesbian swamp creatures got me so good lmfao
One question I have to ask that is plaguing my mind is, do Paula and Pavol get back together in the end? Is it shown/implied? I finished the game but still didn’t get it. I don’t see them being together after all of that… But I’m still confused.
@@NullAmbitionPaula and Pavol talk about seeing the world, and I think this is fruition. I consider them reunited.
@@mgedecim8tors But that’s strange though. She admitted she didn’t love him or regret what she did, while he said he still loved her but might move on without her. I’ve always considered it as a final goodbye rather than them coming back together, because this relationship is clearly toxic for the both of them.
@@NullAmbition when pavol says he wants to show her something and takes her on the hot air balloon, I think he meant to show her the world, what happens after is anyone’s guess.

Hussites are based
i dont really have a take, but the game makes them seem bad. Why are they based?
jew tunnels ayyyy 🧐🤔
What was the music at the beginning of the video?
It was a real banger!!
One thing I should clarify- the hussites depicted in the game are the extremists that emerged after Hus’s execution. Every religion has their leaves that go a bit wild.
Was that supposed to be really bad history lesson or its just what happens in the game, you got me so confused.
Keep pile of shit under your highest window just in case.
@@robertkalinic335 what happens in game
Oh no, ALL of the Hussites were extremist protestants, the whole point of the religion was breaking with catholic traditions and defending against the Czechs that remained catholic and the later HRE crusades. Ultrakviste part of the movement later joined the catholics against other Hussites, when they were promised freedom of religion.
It's a complex topic and it's not really possible to talk about it without extensive research.
Raiding Hungarians and other neighbourgs was not motivated by the religion, but it's simply what people did to enemies.
@@redanthalas8830^this. You gave a much better synopsis. They fought for reform, but there were few bad actors that pillaged for the sake of pillaging.
