About 25% of vehicles in Australia from the 1950s were UTEs. (Holden and Ford Falcon). They should of released the Holden Malloo in the USA as a sports truck. It would do 170MPH and handled great.
It was the Aussie dollar rising too much in value and US vehicle tax laws that stopped it. The term ‘ute’ came from the word ‘utility’, and is not limited to Holden or even Ford in Australia and New Zealand. The term relates to vehicles that have car like interiors and comfort on the road, but have the capability for carrying a load as well. Utes come in well deck, flat deck styles and can have canopies too. In many ways even Dodge Ram, Ford F150, Chev 1500 etc are also utes, not ‘trucks’ too. It’s just that these style vehicles in Oz and NZ are more commonly called a Ute.

My aunt had one. It was tan and she bought it new in 1999. Sitting at Bob Jane tyres getting new shoes for my 2011 Black Holden SSV Ute watching this.
My wife is American and she loves the SSV.
Alex when is that RS6 Avant video Coming 😁
I own a Holden commodore v6. Trust me it goes hard, a v8 is all you will ever need. Assuming you have a billion dollars a week for gas.
Damn the new el camino looking a lil different 😳😳😳
Great review of an Aussie icon 💯🇦🇺
Day 18 of asking for a "so you want a Toyota matrix xrs"
No
This thing is literally a SUV
It has the sport
It has the utility
And it is a vehicle
I like it. 👀👀 -Edgar
"If you're gonna get one, make sure you get a v8" they say.
Also them: *Puts a v6 ute in the thumbnail*
i forgot that was a v6 its also a supercharged version if i remember
@@thatsimracer666 yeah spot on. Not stock or anything tho
@@bradreilly4218 yeah i remember it from street machine the only commie engine v6 was the ecotec with the supercharger
V6s are still little a menace
Yoooooooooo, the orange and black Holden Ute drifting I’ve been in. It’s got 800 horsepower and is fkn sick, the track it’s drifting on is one in port Macquarie nsw. Supposed to be a go cart track but once a year heaps of people take silvias and everything and this Ute is like the main show cos it’s fkn sick
So you want a anti-missing 10mm
Most bolts are 3/8" on commos not 10mm
The term ‘ute’ came from the word ‘utility’, and is not limited to Holden or even Ford in Australia and New Zealand. The term relates to vehicles that have car like interiors and comfort on the road, but have the capability for carrying a load as well. Utes come in well deck, flat deck styles and can have canopies too. In many ways even Dodge Ram, Ford F150, Chev 1500 etc are also utes, not ‘trucks’ too. It’s just that these style vehicles in Oz and NZ are more commonly called a Ute.
Day 12 of asking for So You Want a Volvo 240
"The tray if for utility" me knowing it just means its more fun to skid
So you want to be an Auto UA-camr!
So you want a easy username
Interesting to watch you guys make a video on these, as we get them here in no too just as much as Aussie. You should do a video on the falcon/falcon Ute
“Talking British” is that English Scottish Walsh or Northern Ireland
As a Aussie I can say that you can do skids drifts and go to work on a stock ride hight and the car will not give you a issue for 250.000km
Fucka yaaa, love my Holden. Now if only I could get the Holden Commodore ve wagon in the USA. I love my sedan and all but God damn it give me a wagooooon

Like mine,J? 475hp at the tyres 👍👍
Just remember, Ford built the first Aussie ute in 1934. GM Holden didn’t sell cars until 1948 and utes til 1951. The Ford Falcon ute whips the Holden/commodore ute in every aspect. Local content, Load capacity, interior space, much more rugged and needless to say the almighty Barra! 😄
This car looks like a flip flop ngl
Like a gucci slide
@@brysonkuhn3290 that's it there
thongs mate
Whats a flip flop? Mate down under we got our thongs

About time only been on you giys for years
so you want a mitsubishi galant🥲
My aunt had one. It was tan and she bought it new in 1999. At the end of its life it's bumper cover was tore off, it had a "temporary spare" that was there for years and would probably be a salvage title if any of it was reported to insurance. The thing refused to die tho, and many memories happened in it
Edit: it eventually rear ended someone and was irrepairable
Why?
Bob Lutz was going to bring these over as a G8 ST, but then the recession happened.
