And that sound is just 🔥🔥🔥 Do things right and take your time. Zs burn a little oil so keep a close eye, and always buy from trusted sites. I love my Z and I will NEVER sell it

@@marquistecooper546 well I more so meant the parts on websites such as Z1 motorsports and concept Z performance but a rule of thumb is stay away from east coast cars if possible. Don’t rush when buying 90s cars, you will find a great one for a great price even if it means traveling a few states over.
Current owner of 3 nissan 300zx z32's. Their like anyother car out their to work on, they just seem intimidating. Lots of mods/ aftermarket and still oem parts available. Have owned and sold multiple for about a decade now.

I can confirm that everything feels just so much better when you are working with a ”financial mistake”. Our 3000gt vr-4 was, and still is, mine and my dads mutual hobby, and the car is just so perfect for that! I mean, the car offers you a lot of work to do (bacause the whole car, not just the engine, is so complex xd) and when you finally get something done, it really rewards you. Also the fact that you own something likely no-one have around you makes the whole thing worth it. And well, I got to say that 3000gts aren’t that bad if you know what you’re doing and if you are not scared to get your hands dirty with that beauty you own. That car really is worth all the love and care u give to it.

Nice shout out to the Kia Stinger. I got a 2022 Stinger GT2 RWD on May 1st. I still find it hard to believe that I have one, that's the first car I've bought. It puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.
Man i wish i didnt give up on my passat W8 but i really just couldnt afford it anymore. Literally a couple Gs every month when it broke down but when it ran right it felt like a gift from above. Hard to beat a thicc wookie with a 6 speed manual
What I learned from once owning a heavily modified jeep: the guy that hob jobbed the lift kit together is pretty much the only one that knows how to fix it. This also was the same for a buddy with a turboed engine swapped miata. We had no idea what to do since we didn't know what any of the values of anything were supposed to be.
I own a high mileage 4.2 Audi S5 and an early volvo S40 T5. Trust me, I'm well versed in financial mistakes

Why would the volvo be bad? They almost always are in the top 5 sedans for reliability...
My financial mistake car was definitely a 1991 MR2. Paid to re-build the motor with new internals etc. bigger turbo, hoses, etc. etc. Spent thousands and thousands to finally get it running decent, but could never make it run reliably. Always something random messing up, fouled plugs, air/fuel ratio issues, overheating, random check engine lights. Just heartbreak after another especially seeing other successful builds. Gave up and sold it, no idea what happened to it after.
I own a z32 that I rescued from the junk yard. Literally if I didn’t buy it when I saw it, it would have been scraped the next day. From zero to hero I break next everywhere I go now. Breaks my heart knowing that my z32 was in a junk yard.
Same thing is happening with my father , rescued a z32 from death and its there being slowly rebuilt

I own an FD. I completely love it! Was and is my dream car, and has not disappointed me. NOT ONCE have I regretted it.
Count yourself lucky my man lol my buddy bought his 94(auto🤦♂️) and it lasted like 10k miles before the apex seals went, then got fucked by a shop selling him a blown up engine😑 after that he said fuck everything and sold it and took a huge loss...such a badass ride though, fucker had the most insane handling out of any car I've ever been in lol
I'm kind of glad that Alex didn't mention the Nissan 350Z as a financial mistake of a car. I mean any car you buy can be a financial mistake by any means. It's just the only difference is that some cars are more of a nightmare than a financial mistake and some cars that is just a financial mistake is worth the struggle. This is my opinion and if anyone doesn't like what I said, that's clearly not my issue.

Funny you mention the LS400. My financial mistake was my 95 SC400. In my haste to purchase it, I overlooked several key components. It was my first bucket list car: I did it once, I can do it again. My daily and only (for the moment) is a 2000 Camry LE with brake, suspension, and handling upgrades. I've had it since Nov 2015 with 126k on it. It now has 186k. I have more fun in it than most people in their performance stuff.

I found out that cars are really different from a car to car even in the same model and year since I bought a rx8 last year and didnt have a single issue with it. So I would just say go for it get the car. Any car can just die on you so why worry about it. Drive it and enjoy it.
These 8s are pretty reliable honestly, despite all the Ill advice of the internet saying they're unreliable. I drive mine every day.
My biggest financial mistake was my first car, an 03 Saturn ion 3 😂 trusted the seller and over paid by like 3k... and then a month later the exhaust system fell due to rusting out and I put half of what I paid for the car into it. Since then I’ve been cruising in an 987.1 cayman and haven’t looked back since.

I have a h22 swapped del sol. Keep in mind at this time I only knew the basics of how to work on cars. I replaced the ignition switch,battery terminals, all the fuses and just find out it was my 80amp fuse that keeps popping and had to take out the wiring harness and separate the alternator ground . Got it running and driving just fine now but if it wasn’t for that I still wouldn’t know anything about vehicle electrical work and would still be too afraid to look into it. I’d say if you have very little mechanical hands on experience and have a daily to get to and from the 9-5 having a “financial mistake” could be the best opportunity for you to get that hands on experience. It definitely helped me get the experience I needed.

I really wanted a Cadillac ATS 2.0t rwd so I bought on. It’s my first turbo car. One of the first things I did was add a catch can and change all the fluids. Really surprised with all the nasty that can catches. I run only 93 until I get my e85 done. Also run only Mobil one 5w30 emission systems protection. It’s low ash and low sulfur. I’m glad I bought this car with “lower” milage and a warranty. Warranty covered $4200 worth of work needing to be done on the car.

They aren’t bad you just have to love it enough to put in the time. Doing work isn’t hard it just takes time to do it right. NAs are bulletproof so start with that then either do a TT swap or sell and buy up. Personally I’ll never EVER sell this specific car. I’m keeping my little lemon forever 😂

Z32 owner here. the car is very crammed but extremely straight forward. And very simple to work on. Much more straight forward than a lot of other cars. Just crammed.
There have been times I've been frustrated with my car, but no, no regrets buying my '95 GTR. She has her cancer in the wheel wells that needs attention, but that'll happen. It's a hell of a ride I am so glad I didn't pass up.

Not a popular or fast car by any means. But my first car was a 2008 Acura TL. I actually went in prepared for all of the problems 3rd gen TLS have and was pleasantly surprised to find out Acura fixed most of the problems with the 07-08 models. Still replaced the entire power steering system though lol.
