Kinda weird that for the longest time I believed the worms were bigger with relation to their host, but it seems they stay the same size regardless… makes you wonder what that thing on Titan was
I feel like fundament was a jungle/swamp planet similar to the rest of the throne world. It would make sense since the Krill have bug inspirations and the period where insects where the largest on Earth also had way more oxygen and large swaths of the planet were covered in jungle.
The planet was a gas giant, with continents drifting on an enormous ocean. The ocean must have been very dense too, since Osmium is the densest naturally occuring element, and the continent Sathona, Aurash and Xi Ro are from must have been rich with the element, or tied to it in some way (their father was the osmium king and his court was named after it as well). I suppose there's no reason swamps couldn't exist, but remember, throne worlds are made of thought, the swamp may be a metaphor. We don't know anything else about the planet except its scale. A continent the size of Eurasia would probably be a small speck on the surface of Fundament, since many earths could sink into its' sea and the (water? gas?) level would only rise imperceptibly.
If anything the throne world probably draws from what Lubrae once looked like before Rhulk decided to go full Frieza on it. When you do birth of the vile strike and come across the dark city it looks a lot like his memorial in the preservation mission
They're Batman-style contingencies, countermeasures if anyone gets suborned or mindwhammied or otherwise turned against humanity. Or at least I am inclined to believe Mara on that front, over the Hive worm.
I think it would be funny if the gun had a a few rare voice lines it would say after killing like a big enemy or a guardian, just to remind you the worm is still alive
The worm is right in a way. The worm would feed off the queen perfectly, she's very secretive and only tells information or helps us when it benefits her.
I loathed the end of the quest, getting through the 16 wells was Hell. That said, damn did I have fun with this weapon. Just standing on a pillar and "oh, hi, does this taste like grenade to you?"
I had this really fun Stasis build during that quest - Renewal Grasps, that one mod that made Shards act like Elemental Wells to re-up my grenade multiple times, and Shatterdive. Barely needed Parasite at all.

Personally I would have offered a different kind of host for the worm, to keep its continued service: A hollowed out chaises of a body, abundant in form and strength, but devoid of its own mind and soul, like a clone that never had its brain grown, or an Exo body that never had a human mind and soul transferred in, or (because I’m a bionicle fan) something like a Rahkshi or Bohrok body, a construct geared from the ground up to house an inhuman host. The hive worms are already like Kraata but worse anyway. What kind of Rahkshi body would the worm choose anyway? There’s a whopping 42 separate powers to choose from you know.
