I seem to recall a dev stating that enemies will hide or dodge more based on weapon held and ADS. They called it “scary” points. IE how “scary” your guardian is to them.

It's ranked by clowns. An RPG is 5 clowns and a hand cannon is 1 I'm pretty sure
The reticle being below center makes it so you can see more of what's above you. Encourages you to look up more without having to actually aim for the sky. Trains your eyes to focus on different things. With it directly center, you spend more time looking towards the ground because your vision needs to center on enemies' head levels. Below center let's you hit head level without looking down.
It was something they initially did for Halo, where they wanted to encourage players to actually take in the sky box and not just see what they're pointing at. Also since it was on console where its generally harder to look around for most casual players they wanted them to be able to see more without having to move their stick and point directly at what they want to look at.
i totally noticed this too. i like it, it truly feels like you're looking *down* the barrel of the gun
If you're fast enough, you can actually use ghosts as LIDAR on the dark. They'll make a wave of white dot mesh over whatever's in front of you. I use it a lot in the ascendant plane.
Yup, works so much better. I sometimes stream the game to my tablet (mostly on the toilet) and cant ever see shit in dark areas and can attest that this works much better than walking around with your ghost out.
Throwing orbs... my god... so many players don't do that or can't read. Every time there is Corrupted Nightfall I write in chat "pass the ball for more dmg", nobody cares and keep throwing orb as soon as it appears

Any anti barrier will go through a hydra shields. Even a sidearm with an anti bearier artifact perk will pierce them
Le Monarque also is amazing in GMs with hydras. They’ll have overload champions and you just gotta shoot their shield and the poison still works
Quick note: indebted kindness (rocket sidearm from warlord's ruin) will break antibarier shield with artifact mod, but not go through hydra, knight or phalanx shields cause gun's projectile just stuck in it. But forerunner and buried bloodline both works.
Some more life-hacks: (some literally)
- Exploder units will kill you if you melee them, but if you use your finisher they will not.
- Enemies can melee trough a Titan barricade, but if you stand real close to it the melee will be blocked. (works in pvp too)
- Rockets, Tangles, grenades, nova bombs, and Lumina seekers have a hitbox. You can grapple them with the strand grapple.
- Additionally, you can destroy or pop a nova bomb, rocket or grenade... technically. It's just really hard to do.
- Well-swords can be destroyed. Not only good to keep in mind in pvp, but also in pve enemies can destroy it with AoE or attacks. (It's HP scales with resilience stat)
As someone who always used jump to get off vehicles, I never knew you could dismount with x until recently

You can use the light moths to tell where any hiding hive are cause they'll seek them out immediately as soon as they spawn in.
Best thing I ever did was bind my quest menu to T. Makes it so much faster to get to your director since you dont have to hold down tab.
Using supers also trigger holster mods. Useful for void lucky pants users as reading your hand cannon before using tether will send you straight into the buff after debuffing them

About the enemy dodging when you aim down sights, they have a "fear" meter that makes them dodge, heavy weapons make them dodge almost guaranteed
A LOOOOT of people forget in raids to do this: raid mods that increase damage (e.g., Umbral Sharpening from Vow). Use the damage to player mechanics to your advantage and get extra damage, you can have more armor pieces to increase the amount given, especially for PANTHEON (and yes, they work in Pantheon)
Some players don't know this but for most ememys the suppressor grenade as well as some suppressor effects from weapons make enemys blind and for wizards they stop shooting you with arc for the time being and try to run away. Great for stoping enemys that keep locking in on you.
If you're using trinity ghoul, you don't actually need to hit the enemies if you have the arc shot active, it's more ideal to hip fire so you create a large AOE damage range.
I lowkey wish they got rid of reserves mods and we always had reserves maxed for every weapon. Mostly due to the constant hassle of having to swap regularly before a boss.

Another thing with jumping in small spaces, as a warlock, you can spam Icarus Dash while jumping and use that fire moving even quicker

For the love of god change your controller binds so you can both charged and uncharged melee (I have charged on R1 and uncharged on R3 with finisher on D-pad down)

i think for psions the ads might be a small trigger to dupe more, but for all taken the ads causes them to blink more often
if you need to access your void but are in a raid or something if you open your director and go to say vangaurd you can open it from there

Enemies are affected by an old stat carried over in the engine from Halo called "scariness" and is activated when you ADS, hence why taken enemies will split, bubble, hide, etc. Come on man, content creators should know their bungie lore and history if they cover destiny.
Some supers you can slide as you activate it
Practice raid encounters with a crutch build and then switch to a more efficient one, it will allow you to get the feel for an encounter without as much pressure.
If you are flush with shards and are missing a few non-lost sector exotics in your collection, Xur (Not the Eternity one) shows up on a patrol zone every weekend selling exotics and engrams, the 1st engram you buy will be for shards.

You can use shards to buy phantasmal fragments to trade for glimmer in the future ( it is inefficient but worth knowing for lots of shards )
I wish we had an actual "toggle flashlight" button. Flashlight as in the one the game turns on when you're in pitch black darkness - only when it wants, though.
You can continue to ADS while reloading. This saves the short ADS animation after the reload animation
You can use the left stick to choose which side you dismount from your vehicle

You can one-shot many things using the Monte Carlo bayonet such as the blights in Deep Dives, no more wasting ammo on those.
If your a warlock with Icarus dash, you can spam the jump button and the dash button to move faster through the vents

Also if you put on full auto melee it will mess up your well/shatter skate.
If you’re playing on pc I highly recommend not using scroll wheel to switch weapons. You can bind the “switch weapon” button to any key you feel comfortable pressing. Press the key to switch between kinetic and energy weapon slots and hold it down to switch to heavy. I have it bound to a button on my mouse so I don’t even have to stop looking when I switch weapons. This will allow you to switch back and forth between your weapons much easier during damage phases for bosses or in pvp when you need to finish a guardian with your secondary weapon
It's a bad habit to use scroll to switch weapons. Use 1,2,3.
After playing destiny for so long I always choose to put my reticle slightly below the center in any game that gives the option because it always felt better now I know it's cause destiny got me used to it

My life hack for D2: Bribe my nephew to do the end game content and pvp that I am not good at.
The reserves one is actually sick, and that thing about the reticle finally explains why my shots always failed to land
the aiming down sights thing is real it also works for shooting rocktes and other wapons at teleporting enemies, seems enemy ai is setup to act when aiming at them even if they are not looking at you, its like how some fighting games and fighting arcade machiens made things more dificult by reading your inputs
.. funny thing there was a big scnadle about that with arcade and fighting games and was treated as an unfair way to make games "harder" without actualy makignt he game harder .... huh look at that d2 using another bs way to increas "dificutly" without actualy putting in work

This is useless, but if you’re scanning something with your ghost, you can double tap the pull out ghost button to cancel the animation of deploying your ghost, saving a second.
Had no clue full auto was moved from the perk pool to settings. Free perks for all! Perfectly imbalanced as all things should be.
