It is so funny seeing Hoovie tease Doug about his Porsche. Doug takes the bait every time😂
INSANE, you're only arguments were.... You, you. IT HAS AN F1 POWER TRAIN!
Hoovie has a huge point tho that car is starting to get overated honestly they all are the prices are just not worth it maybe Ford GT the icon I can let slide a bit but still all the other stuff they complained I disagree with most of it but the price million lfa fuck no
All Porsche's look the same to me - it's a Carrera GT right?
@@jordanmercier3616 what’s funny is the Carrera GT motor is definitely NOT a formula one engine! It’s twice the displacement size, and the whole car was originally a development for a new LeMans endurance racing car
@@Beer_Dad1975 Boxster RS.
tyler telling doug his million dollar car is overrated is crazy
Cause it is
It's an opinion.
Cos it is. So much for “the last analog supercar” that requires a special technique to release the clutch and requires a driver with a FIA superlicence to push it anywhere near half its limits without dying.
@@randomcharacter6501 shut the hell up !
I wish Doug didn’t know that coming in. Lol
In my country there was an LFA sat in a Toyota dealership for nearly 7 years unsold because nobody was interested in buying it and later in 2018 when the LFA started appreciating they marked it up to 1M so even less people were interested in buying it until it was sold to somebody in the US in late 2019 I believe (cool thing is that you can see the car sitting at the dealership in 2015 if you go on Street View)
The LFA is a difficult car in some ways, taken in isolation it's great, awesome sound, very interesting tech etc, but as soon as you put it next to what else you could get for about the same money, it's a different deal. Pricewise etc it's competing with so legendary cars that it becomes hard to justify. I'd love one, taken in isolation, but there are a lot of mythical level cars you can swing at about the same money, and it being a toyota would be great if it translated to price of ownership but it doesn't. I could have owned a Ferrari, even in my 20's, I could swing the price. But instead I got a Celica 4x4 WRC car, which in the end costs about the same, and it's a PAIN to service as much as any exotic is.
What country?
Hoovie being fueled by Doug’s rage is like me and my friends messing around with each other same way.
These two need a podcast together already, I could watch Hoovie and Doug talk about windshield wipers for hours.
Honestly not sure why they haven’t started one.
They could review Chris' wiper brake kit.
FOR REAL!
the perfect episode of TST
I thought about it too
You guys are a hoot together. Too bad you can't do more vids together, with one of you in San Diego and the other on Mars.

The way things are going I prefer Witchita KS...
SLR is definitely underrated. Timeless design. Stunningly beautiful!
and that V8 bass and supercharger whine is just incredible...
Agreed
At the time the SLR was too… umm how can I put this… I don’t want to say tacky because it’s not it was just like…. I guess the word I’m looking for is outclassed.
Okay for example, if any of you know anything about watches, the SLR was like a Tag Heuer, the Enzo was a Rolex and the Carrera GT was an Omega. That’s the only way I could describe it as.
And this is obviously putting aside even more high end watches that we know exist beyond Rolex etc.
Anyways, I actually like Tag Heuer so I do love the SLR no matter the price or where it sits in the hierarchy. It definitely looks like a Mercedes space ship.
SLR... The car only a mother could love. 🤦
Perhaps it's "timeless"... Because there was never a time when it looked good. 🤮
@@jasono2139 your opinion
The LFA is believed to be overhyped by a lot of big car guys. But, nobody can deny that it is a very special and limited car and one of the best sounding cars ever.
Exactly I feel like Doug is the only enthusiast that complains about it being too expensive everyone is fine with the price because it deserves to be that expensive
@Gaming is key I would bet money that his anger comes from other car guys telling him his Carrera GT doesn't sound as good as one
@@bhyphen8234 exactly he’s mad the carrera gt is the second best sounding behind the LFA, if the LFA is the best sounding production car of all time shouldn’t it be a million dollars
@@KoolieBhaidoes it? It’s ugly, not that fast and apparently doesn’t feel that fun to drive compared to other much cheaper lexus. Idk I don’t think any vehicle that breaks easily is worth a million dollars (which is all of them currently)
@@RainmakerXBooty Well I disagree, that’s your opinion the market wins at the end of the day and if the the market thinks it’s a 1 million dollar car then clearly it is a very special car with a v10 developed by Yamaha that can rev extremely fast all the way to 9400 rpm plus most of the car is made out of carbon fiber and the handling is superb with razor sharp throttle response that can adjust the drift angle and I agree it’s not the best looking exotic but it does look like a Japanese super car and that’s what makes it unique and on top of all that you get arguably the best sounding production car of all time that is also reliable. Sorry that u don’t like it but unfortunately the value of this car is gonna keep on going up and up!
I love Hoovie just roasting Doug’s cars 😂😂
I know I'll never buy a Porsche Carrera GT, that's for sure (not that I don't want one)

Love these videos. Tyler and Doug have a Clarkson/May/Hammond dynamic that can not be faked or reproduced. It's the ability for you two not to take yourselves seriously, but also be so sure you are the only one that is right!

aren't you listening to the video? They mention both and just show both so viewers can have a refresh of what they look like
@@comeberza still doesn’t make sense because they were talking specifically about the lfa lol
@@kiariowhippin literally 10 seconds after that they mention it. Its obvious why he shows it.
He showed it in the wrong frame
are u stupid?
I think in the realm of pretty normal priced cars, a C4 ZR-1 Corvette has gotta be extremely underrated. Of course the 90’s GM interior will squeak, but you get a lotus designed, Mercury built DOHC high revving V8, 6 speed only, understated looks, and absolutely one of the highest performers of its era. And they came in purple.
You can find them around 20k but some are very over inflated
To me the most over looked car is a C4 corvette. You can get really good ones for 10k
The banter between these two is the best thing on UA-cam. I love it.

The hoovie Doug cross over was never something I knew I needed but all these videos are gold you bring the best out of each other you guys should start a podcast
These are “must watch” given the chemistry between the two. More please!!
In fact, why not add Doug into CarTrek and really up the ante?
If Doug had a car podcast with regular guests, I’d tune in for sure. The thing about cars is soo many people like them even if they’re not enthusiasts. He could have normal, non-related UA-camrs on and they’d still all have interesting stories to tell about cars.
Facts Doug is a great host not a guest. His channel shows that🔥🔥
I love the dude, but sometimes the way he talks to his friends and other UA-camrs like they are children and that they don't know as much as him because he reviews cars... when everyone does, too, lol
please no, every youtube channel goes to absolute shit as soon as it starts doing podcasts. It's low effort, low quality content with a bunch of annoying sponsors and ads in it.
He does now :P
Love these Doug & Tyler series, keep ‘em coming!
Reminds me of the old AutoTrader days.
MORE Doug and Hoovie! Complimentary personalities with comparable car knowledge and differing opinions. The honest and unscripted back and forth makes for top tier content.
Could listen to these two for hours. Great video and looking forward to the next one.
I like Tyler a lot. Pretty unique personality. Very funny and doesn't overstay his well. An all-round top bloke.
Lol that’s a great profile pic man. Made me laugh a bit.
Hoovie kicking it off with a first person vs third person dig🤣🤣🤣 too funny

Didnt think I liked the guest spots with hoovie but now this is one of my favorites. Great content for the weekend. Wonderful idea guys - thanks for the content! Keep it up
I love how when talking cars Doug is even more energetic and Tyler is super calm lol
I'm glad you are doing this more.
I'm glad you improved the audio.
I hope you make this a weekly show. Even if you have to record it all at once every few months.
I love these type of episodes, where Doug have just casual conversation and rate and ranks cars with his friends.
I don't watch automotive videos as much as I did when I was younger but I'll always click on a video with Doug and Hoovie riffing with one another. They should have a podcast together!
Omg this format between you two is absolutely amazing, and hilarious to watch😂😂😂
I love these mashup videos-- they're so good together.
Tyler Hoover is a national treasure
I loved Hoovie's "that's a decent point," line and how much fun it looks like Doug and Tyler are having. Doug's statement of the exhaust on the Carrera being the best sound in the history of exhaust notes was nice too.
As a life-long musician, there is no "musical center" in the brain. The sounds that one person likes may or may not be pleasant to another. But much like music, when you find your favorite sounds you know it. The sound and feel of an engine has been an integral part of the driving experience since the ICE was mated with wheels.
You thoughts on the Lexus LFA ?
I’m loving this series! Could hear you two talk about cars all day
Great to see you together 😊 keep it up 👍🏼
"You're obviously insane" two of my absolute favorite youtubers making me laugh on a Sunday

Genuinely my favourite content on the entire internet is you two doing these, I could watch this all day!
I was thinking that Tyler must be traveling to California a lot, but then I realized with the magic of youtube, they taped all these in an afternoon.
This was easily my favorite Collab with you two. I loved watching you two just tear each other apart. Hilarious!
Please do more of these. So fun to watch!
I WILL NOT TOLERATE THE LFA SLANDER
My Dream car is a LFA it will never be overrated just overpriced. Just hearing it start up and run is almost worth the price and i love the look of it cause its so different than anything else. Also its a Lexus so it wont break often. Shame the viper wasnt on the list of Under rated still think its an amazing analog car. SLS is right where it should be it cause of the Production numbers SLR is underrated Though. I agree with Doug on the Gallardo being under rated as well.
My main problem is that it may sound great, but it's hideous. Just really the worst "Lexus" features tacked on some good proportions. Ugly spindly, triangle lights, odd angles, flat rear, mini spoilers over rear lights, fake grilles, odd sharp scoop near doors. Underneath all that it's all just a plain coupe with decent dimensions, but somebody at Toyota asked to make it more like Lambo and well it looks like Toyota tried to add Lambo-like features and yet it still looks like Lexus. It's not a beautiful incoherence, it's jarring and offensive. If it was a 40 grand cheap Lexus it could be passable, but it never sold at those prices and it is easily one of the ugliest supercars ever made.
@@MJ-uk6luyeah it’s kinda ugly.
This was fun. I hope they do more of this type of thing!!
What a great fun video 😊 good to see you guys again
I'd love to see a video about Canadian-exclusive cars that weren't sold in the US! I see them sometimes in the Detroit area and it's always so cool!
Oh that would be really neat, so many odd rebadges from GM and Chrysler from the 80’s and 90’s
Oh yeah or European market exclusives like BMW 1 series hatch or 5 series touring (newest gen)
Could do the same thing w/ Mexico only cars.
Acura EL which us basically a civic lol
They Hyundai Pony, best car you guys never got, we suffered for you.
To me, the LC 500 ist underrated. They even mention it at the beginning.
Nobody talks about the LC 500. I love them, as a GT car.
Loving the friendly rivalry. I would absolutely watch more of these episodes too...
Doug, these videos with companions are so cool! :)
I love that you mentioned the 996 GT2. It's a dream car. It's just the perfect amount of understatement and smoking-others-off-the-line.
I can't get behind it with that ugly silver especially with the black splitter just don't look right I love the fried egg headlights tho I don't care how ugly people say they are
@@blackeye3336 I also very much dislike the silver... But in white, lowered on modern Coilovers, that thing looks gorgeous.

Hilarious and informative. I love this video format.
I loved absolutely everything about this video. Do it again.
I definitely think the SLS is underrated. It is such a special feeling car to drive.
I saw my first SLS last year. It wasn't the Black Series, but it was so cool nonetheless.
The amg gt is better in every aspect except sound
@@Poatan.chama. Design? It sure is good looking, but personally i prefer the SLS.
there was an SLS roadster for sale locally with barely any miles for like $90,000
i was like wtf?? i personally think the roadster looks better than the coupe but the coupe carries a premium because of the doors 🤪
@@Poatan.chama. the amg gt is ugly asf tho
I finally heard an LFA yesterday, pretty epic
My god those 2 videos are just SO FKN GOOOOOOOD!!!! Thank you guys so much
Guys - I loved this video esp the conversation regarding the CGT and Gallardo. As a current R8 owner (purchased off of CnB!) the Gallardo conversation speaks to me. I prefer the Gallardo 6spd over my R8 6spd but the Lambo tax put it just a bit out of reach. I wonder how the R8 & Gallardo manuals will fair over time. The wonderful thing about the r8 is it is serviceable easily. Maybe someday I will go to a Lambo but for now the R8 is a wonderful driving experience for a reasonable entry price. Keep the good stuff coming, love the vids.
I love the Narcissism of both of you talking about rich people hyping up crappy cars. Don't ever stop! Many live vicariously through you.
Doug and Hoovie talking like such old old friends 😂❤

lol which editor put in an LC500 for the last slide of the LFA
These two make the best car videos ever! Two of the biggest car nerds together is just magic. I'd listen to them all day.
I just saw my first Carerra GT in person yesterday at Gears and Grinds in Vegas. Spec'd exactly like Doug's. I love it even more after seeing it up close. I don't know if another car looks better than the CGT from a rear 3/4 shot with the fat tire and the shape of the engine cover looking like jet engines behind it.
How tf mk4 supra is not in this video
Aside from the Carrera GT and the f50 ,the m5 e60 also has an F1 derived engine(and tecnically the m3 e92)
Doesn’t the AMG One have an F1 engine too?
The LFA also has an F1 derived V10.
@@LouisSubearth no it doesn’t and they talked in video about it,on a side note that car also is just too overpriced
@@fridtjofriibe5961 yes it does but it’s a track only car and let’s be honest you wouldn’t ever see it on the road even if it was street legal,in this case we’re talking about street legal cars that have engine derived from F1 or straight from F1
@Uilliam56 X the engine was derived from an F1 engine the Toyota team at the time had around. The LFA team, along with Yamaha, turned it into the 1LR-GUE
I could watch these two talk about almost anything. More please!
I live for the banter between Tyler and Doug, it's hilarious
I love this series, would love it though if you guys showed the cars you're discussing for a longer time period, maybe off to the side while you're discussing it.

These are a heck of a duo. Good stuff.
The videos you guys do together are the best, need a podcast or something 😂
I still haven’t watched the video but about “overrated cars” here in Europe in all the major car reselling sites it is impossible i repeat impossible to find for sale any Nissan gtr that isn’t an R35,damn they’ll sell them for a lot of money after they stop holding them r34s etc…
What are your thoughts on the discontinued BMW i8?
We need more of these videos!!!
The two of you guys together is GOLD. I want more...
The amount of 110s and other old defenders I see in southern california is absolutely insane, they are hot commodities down here and I cannot imagine those owners are happy
I'm here since the Autotrader days like back in 2013-2014, i actually took notice of Tyler because of Doug, so looking at these two together feels nostalgic but also i love the chemistry between you two, i want more of this amazing duo.
Thanks for these videos
Love these talks 👍
In my eyes the most underrated Ferrari of all time is the 488 GTB, an engineering masterpiece, that handles very well and sounds incredible. It is the perfect supercar at a very reasonable price, with beautiful looks and a timeless interior especially with the carbon options. So underrated - and is better than predecessor and in many ways better than its successor.
The problem with the 488 is it’s worse than the 458 and worse than the F8. It’s the ugly middle child
I was able to rent a Huracan and a 488 and the driving experience responsiveness and sound of the huracan was 10 times better in my opinion
@@bradenmchenry995 in what sense, its much better than the 458 in every sense, and the F8 is held the car the 488 is - the back looks ugly compared to the stunning back of the 488 and its performance is hardly an upgrade with its poorer sound and harsher handling. The 458 doesn't look as the good and the performance upgrade is massive from the 458 to the 488 especially when they are both roughly in the same price range. In no way is it the ugly middle child
@@8MunchenBayern8 a huracan handling better than a 488? You have to be kidding, you're the only person on the planet to believe that howling huracan handles anywhere near as well as a 488 - not only from my personal experience but from the entire internet's experience of the two.
I’m not sure about handling per se but the entire driving experience was kind of mundane. The Huracan was just more fun to drive and was just more ferocious in general
Am I the only one that loves the styling of the LFA?
Just fun to watch them talk. Great job 😂😂🔥🔥👍💙
Love the Sunday videos Doug
I'm with you guys on the Gallardo. It looked good when it was new, looks gorgeous now. And no one talks about them!
I liked the Gallardo, but I've always liked the 1st-gen Audi R8 that bit more.
With the L.F.A if you saw any of the Documentaries on how they were made, and the extreme dedication and how they restarted the project again half way through because it was not the best it could be, you’ll understand why it was such a towering achievement and why that it’s build levels of quality and sound make it worth so much. I think it’s very beautiful also. Not as pretty as the Carrera G.T but second best.
Even then, strictly in terms of looking at the car on a piece of paper, it’s not exactly great. Lexus lost money on each LFA sold, it was basically a disaster trying to buy one when they released, and you could buy cars that had similar power ratings for a fraction of the price (Nissan GT-R). It wasn’t until years later that people realized it was actually a very solid car, even more so from a company whose sole reputation was built on making boring and completely unimpressive cars
Nope. Nobody wanted them and they literally couldn't sell them. They managed to sell some of the last ones 2 years ago even though production had stopped long before that, but now 12 year olds say the LFA is legendary.
Love to see you together guys, it's kind a epic cross over :D cheers!
This gives me flashbacks to pretty much, well, every car cruise or cars and coffee conversation I have gravitated to, like a moth to a flame over the years or...decades it seems. Everyone gets a great laugh, and we all share some pretty awesome stories, which takes a peek into ones personality.
Are you two taking into account the incredibly long development process of the LFA? If it was released when it was supposed to be, it would have been a game-changer. By the time it came to market, it was nearly a full generation back of the other cars in its class.
The guys are talking about the current state of affairs, not when it was released. Doug did say that at $350-400,000, he sees the value, but not at 1+ mil.
But you know, you said it yourself: when the car was released, it had already lost its edge. So it might've been overrated on day 1.
@@andycalifornia426 I am fully aware of this. However, if you re-watch the video, they do tend to give some weight to other factors for other cars in their decisions but I didn't see any for the LFA. And in my opinion, as someone who has driven (and worked on) LFA's on the street and on tracks, it both seriously underrated and overrated at the same exact time.
@@davidshofer8822 in what ways do you think it's underrated and overrated?
