i froze as soon as i went under the truck right at the start game was running smooth like one drop as soon as i gained control but that’s it then it fades to black as i go under the truck and bam im stuck
I was able to run the game and my cpu is on A tier, but I have a problem after the start of the game. When you can move Snake for the first time, you know that you must crouch to get trough a truck, but then it just shows a black screen and I can´t continue. Can anybody help me with that?

I followed everything to the letter and it's giving me a popup notification that says that some of the patches aren't compatible with the current version of RPCS3's patch manager. EDIT: Redid everything, this time closing the emulator before making the patch file. It works now. Best to make sure you have the emulator closed before doing any file modifications.
Good tutorial! It took me a while, but I got the game ready. However, audio is very laggy and in most parts there is no sound at all, plus ingame framerate is unbearably low. Cutscenes are fine, but gameplay is running at like 2 fps.
So I’m having a issue, every time I try to download the packages. It says that my the file doesn’t dowload because it’s likely my antivirus, I tried everything and it won’t work

how can I use more canary patches and regular patches for other games? If the name has to be the same for the file to work, I can only use one at a time in the folder. I hope I dont have to manually move them in and out whenever I wanna switch games.
Regular game patches should be there when you load up a new game, canary has to be manually added but I don't know much about then outside of this one for MGS4

Has anyone noticed a glitch at the dock. The cutscene where Liquid shuts the system off and starts shooting the place up. For whatever reason, it seems to default to 720p. Has anyone else noticed this?
it's because that cutscene is a pre-rendered video file the PS3 could barely handle the game itself so Kojima had it done this way to stop PS3's from turning into nukes
Used PAL version of the game. Only had the black screen during the first part where snake deployed in middle east. But was able to finish the game smoothly. Do not close the game during the 2 hour initial ppu compilation it will break your copy of the game.

Hi, sorry, I have a tip to consider, in the games folder you can also insert the same file that you would use on the PS3, i.e. ps3_game (with the game inside) and ps3_update, it works anyway, you don't necessarily have to install or search for a pkg file, I ask you instead but where can I change the saves because I have one with everything unlocked but I don't know which directory to go to
Save file location is \dev_hdd0\home\00000001\savedata\(Serial Code of the Game) If you got your save from a PS3 it needs to be decrypted before using it on RPCS3, it can done with a program called "PS3 Brute Force Save Data " And i translate my titles and description to multiple languages for wider reach on UA-cam, you're seeing Italian because your UA-cam is set to Italian

When opening the patch manager i'm given a message saying "some of your patches are not compatible with the current version of RPCS3's patch manager". I dont have the cellSpurs option or the Crash fix option, but i do have some others which arent shown in the list in the video like "infinite ammo" could i have an older or newer patch or patch manager?

Something is wrong with the imported_patch.yml file, try doing this part and make sure it looks exactly like i show in the video, capitalization matters
Just did it today after updating RPCS3. I made a dumb mistake and forgot the colon after “Version 1.2” so it didn’t work until I caught that mistake. Might consider downloading a free code editor like VS Code and pulling up patch.yml and imported_patch.yml to compare formatting side by side. Indentation and line breaks matter with yml files.
Can anyone point me in the direction of extracting PS3 PKG and RAP files from my ISO? I pulled my own ISO and assumed RPCS3 used ISO files like every other emulator. The link from their website on extracting files was also very confusing and not straight forward.
You need to extract or mount the iso image file, so you get the game folders. They just need to be placed on the games folder for the emulator to read. The PKG and rap are the files from the digital rip of the game
Would this tutorial work if you used an external Blu Ray player on PC via RPCS3? I have the actual game, just not a PS3. Would love to run this in my 3080. Or even stream to my steam deck from PC.

Yes, the precompilation bug for example is fixed on version 2.00 if you use either the digital, 25th Anniversary and Legacy Collection version of the game

@@arthur17718 No you don't convert that PKG, if you have a ISO you just need to double click it to mount the game files, or you can extract the ISO with WinRar/7zip. You'll also get the actual game files that way
Could be a lot of things but most of the time it happens when the game files are corrupted, try redumping the game again or grabbing from a different source
Fixed issues I was having with getting the game to run at all, but I'm getting a bit of crackling from the audio. subtle but a bit annoying. is there a setting I can tweak to reduce that without destroying my performance?
I keep having the game freeze as I am playing it. It is frequent enough to make it unplayable. Does anyone know of a fix. Only things of note are that the game goes to 24 fps during the freeze and there is this error in the log: E SYS: Stat: '_sys_lwmutex_lock' failed with 0x80010005 : CELL_ESRCH [x369]

Well I did test it and the game runs not that good , Act 3 bike section got drops to 15 fps . Got i9 11900k with 3060 (12 gigs) . Firmware 4.90 game runs 60-45 fps .

Works too, just extract the iso with WinRAR or 7zip and you'll have the playable files

atleast in firefox you can choose "download anyways"
Right click and select Download Anyway or Keep depending on your browser.
Everything works fine except the tv channels sequence, I can change channels but I have black/white screens and nothing shows up
Mine wont even launch says corrupted. And won’t even update from 1.0 to 2.0 pm Ben when it installs the patch.

I dontt know why, but after the third reboot with all these same settings, now it sticks to 60. I literally didnt change a single setting? Weird

Hi, sorry, I have a tip to consider, in the games folder you can also insert the same file that you would use on the PS3, i.e. ps3_game (with the game inside) and ps3_update, it works anyway, you don't necessarily have to install or search for a pkg file, I ask you instead but where can I change the saves because I have one with everything unlocked but I don't know which directory to go to

If you got your save from a PS3 it needs to be decrypted before using it on RPCS3, it can done with a program called "PS3 Brute Force Save Data "

Yes, on the settings go to Emulator -> Viewport and enable "Ignore doubleclicks for Fullscreen" (first option)

When opening the patch manager i'm given a message saying "some of your patches are not compatible with the current version of RPCS3's patch manager". I dont have the cellSpurs option or the Crash fix option, but i do have some others which arent shown in the list in the video like "infinite ammo" could i have an older or newer patch or patch manager?

when im trying to open the "manage Game the patches option", a window with "Some of your patches are not compatible with the current version of RPCS3's patch manager" appears and not all options are shown, even the "NPUB31633 All versions" dont shows up, do you have any idea of what happend?
Something is wrong with the imported_patch.yml file, try doing this part and make sure it looks exactly like i show in the video, capitalization matters
Just did it today after updating RPCS3. I made a dumb mistake and forgot the colon after “Version 1.2” so it didn’t work until I caught that mistake. Might consider downloading a free code editor like VS Code and pulling up patch.yml and imported_patch.yml to compare formatting side by side. Indentation and line breaks matter with yml files.

Can anyone point me in the direction of extracting PS3 PKG and RAP files from my ISO? I pulled my own ISO and assumed RPCS3 used ISO files like every other emulator. The link from their website on extracting files was also very confusing and not straight forward.
You need to extract or mount the iso image file, so you get the game folders. They just need to be placed on the games folder for the emulator to read. The PKG and rap are the files from the digital rip of the game

Yes, the precompilation bug for example is fixed on version 2.00 if you use either the digital, 25th Anniversary and Legacy Collection version of the game

Most of the game files Ive found only have and ISO file of the whole game and not the PKG and RAP files. Is that an issue?
No, works the same but you have to mount the ISO to get the game files by double clicking it, or you can extract with WinRar/7zip

Could be a lot of things but most of the time it happens when the game files are corrupted, try redumping the game again or grabbing from a different source
Fixed issues I was having with getting the game to run at all, but I'm getting a bit of crackling from the audio. subtle but a bit annoying. is there a setting I can tweak to reduce that without destroying my performance?
Try these on the CPU settings:
Preferred SPU Threads: 1
Enable SPU loop detection
I keep having the game freeze as I am playing it. It is frequent enough to make it unplayable. Does anyone know of a fix. Only things of note are that the game goes to 24 fps during the freeze and there is this error in the log:

My controller works fine, but once i get to the main menu, it stops working. even tho it's inputs are still registering.
Someone else had this same issue but i can't remember now how he fixed - it's somewhere here in this comment section

Well I did test it and the game runs not that good , Act 3 bike section got drops to 15 fps . Got i9 11900k with 3060 (12 gigs) . Firmware 4.90 game runs 60-45 fps .
