    I pretty much completely ditched the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 after I started using the Marine Hyaluronics! 😅
    I can’t stand the consistency of the HA and find it too drying. The pilling is a big issue I have with the HA and I find myself touching my face a lot more than I normally do (which is already way too often) when I use the HA. I’m SO happy with the Marine Hyaluronics! I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t like the consistency of the HA and who is experiencing pilling with the HA. The Marine Hyaluronics is a great substitute!

    Late to this video, but I'm loving the Marine Hyaluronics. It IS watery, so I apply the drops directly to my face instead of to my fingers first: 3 drops on one cheek, then instantly spread with other hand. Then repeat on the other cheek and the forehead. This is done AFTER toning, so there's already moisture on my skin and the drops aren't immediately sucked up as they are applied. No issues using this method..

      Hi. Someone commented the following in one of the other videos regarding this product! May be, it will help you :)
      "HA products should always be applied on WET/DAMP skin. The point of HA is that is attracts water and if you apply it on dry skin, it will work by sucking the moist you have in the deeper layers of the skin and therefore, drying your skin out! This is why you should apply it directly after cleansing or after applying some water/mist in your face. I cleanse and instead of drying my skin with a towel, I apply HA to wet skin. After a minute it dries and my skin is incredibly hydrated and moisturised!
      Never apply it to dry skin as it’ll do the complete opposite of what it’s meant to do!"

    • @SincerelyMissAsh
      @SincerelyMissAsh  4 роки тому +2

      Hi J,
      Alpha Arbutin will be the perfect product to use if you have that skin type. Niacinamide will also be good to help with hyperpigmentation as well (whether you have acne/oily skin or not) and yes you could use Glycolic toner as well (more of an exfoliating product). I am currently using a few different types of Vitamin C serums right now and will be doing a video on this soon but I swear by the Drunk Elephant C-Firma. I know it's pricey but it has really done wonders on my skin for brightness.
      Like Ethel said, the AHA+BHA will help with hyperpigmentation but it is pretty strong so if you do have sensitive/dry skin I am not sure if I would use this product. Of course you can try it and see how your skin reacts to it but it can be intense sometimes.

    One thing to note, Hyaluronic Acid with multiple weights can be very irritating to some people. Me personally, it dries me out, turns me red and itchy. I since switched my regimen to have no Hyaluronics and it's been fine. My irritation and redness instantly went away. I was using Hada Labo Gokyjyun line. My skin looked moist and dewy and looked like an oasis, but it felt like there was a desert underneath.

      It's not for everyone but I definitely haven't experienced my skin feeling or looking dry from using any type of HA product.. You do have to seal it in with a moisturizer right away before the HA dries on your skin for it to be locked in and by doing so my skin feels hydrated..

    • @areallyboredguy5825

      @@SincerelyMissAsh The sealing didn't work for me, unfortunately. I'm using an entirely different line now (SoonJung) and my face has never felt better. For HA for sensitive people it seems whether or not it seals it just causes too much irritation.

    i am using marine hyaluronic acid,niacinamide,azelaic suspension in that order.i recently experienced acne breakout well during my monthly flow. i used it am n pm 😀..could that be the reason for the iritations?

    • @SincerelyMissAsh

      It's possible that you could be reacting to the Azelaic Acid.. Start with using it once a day or even a few times a week to get your skin accustomed to it and then gradually up your usage from there but you only need to use it once daily..

      I have never heard about having a purging stage when it comes to the Marine Hyaluronics or a Hyaluronic Acid for that matter but maybe? I really enjoy Hyaluronic Acid but it doesn’t seem to play well with others 😔 I have reached out to the Ordinary and am waiting for a response. Thank you!
      Yes, I have experienced this many times with Hyaluronic Acid. I am really unsure as to why it pills on the skin but if I pair it with too many serums and/or products I will experience pilling. Hyaluronic Acid is a thicker serum which leaves the skin tacky so I believe this can be an issue when using certain products. Try experimenting and eliminate products or switch products up until you find a routine that works with the Hyaluronic Acid..

      Thanks! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one this happens to. Deciem recommended Hyaluronic then vitamin C and pycnogenol. No I’m not using the cream base. I’ve been using the one with alpha arbutin but this week I’ve been using the one with vitamin F. Interesting thought though, thanks for continuing to brainstorm 😄
      By the way I tried the Balibody today on my legs. I’m really liking it, I tend to look a bit orange in the past but not with this. Just for giggles I used a latex glove because I’ve found in the past the mitt absorbs a lot of product and I don’t want to waist any. It turned out really well, no streaks and after I got my lower leg covered I rubbed down to cover my foot and my foot looks great no missed spots and no issues with my toes. Thanks for recommending Balibody I’m impressed 😃 Have a wonderful night 😊😊

    I am 67 and just started doing skin care and found The Ordinary. I have watched your video and was curious - is a toner really necessary? I do not have acne or ever had acne. I do not have an issue with oil either or blackheads. I feel like maybe a little dullness to my skin, but that seems to be improving since I started skin care 5 weeks ago. So overall I am looking to have my skin look even. But not sure what a toner is needed for and trying to keep it kind of simple. Being older from the day and age where toners were like witch hazel, that type where you FELT your skin tighten. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I am using Trader Joe cleanser, then the caffeine for the eyes, buffet and then the moisturizer. I was going to add the hyaluronic acid, but taking it back to get the marine 1. Night time I add the rose hip oil to the buffet and do my face.

    • @SincerelyMissAsh
      @SincerelyMissAsh  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Wendy,
      A toner is definitely not a necessary step.. I like to use one for different reasons.. 1. to make sure my makeup, dirt/oil is completely removed from my skin 2. It balances out your PH levels of you skin once it's been cleansed 3. I also like to use a "glycolic acid" toner to exfoliate my skin keeping it bright and smooth. I also use a Witch Hazel toner.
      You can definitely skip a toner if you are looking for a simple skincare routine but the rest of your skincare that you just mentioned sounds good! Nothing get's as simple as a Witch Hazel Toner.

      Honeslty it just comes down to whether you are sensitive to either one and what you prefer the texture to be. Both work very similarly in terms of hydration and water retention. I like the marine one better since my skin freaks out with HA. I know the HA works cuz I can tell it pulls in moisture but because my skin freaks out and get irritated, it then becomes dry. I have no issues with the marine one

      @@evaaatb3301 the HA and marine hyaluronic can be used right after cleansing. The BHA is a chemical exfoliator so it should be used only a couple times a week before the HA serum. Retinol is pretty irritating as it is so it shouldn't be uses on days that you use the BHA. You can use retinol at the very end of your routine after your moisturizer if you have sensitive skin or are working to increase the tolerance of your skin. I am not sure why they added those ingredients in this product in particular but Salicylic Acid is a gentle/mild exfoliant and it is further down in the ingredient list (19th and 20th in the list) which makes this ingredient less potent. I have been using the Marine for over two weeks and never experienced any dryness caused by the Citric/Salicylic acid.
