How to use The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics

  • In this video, you will learn how to use The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics.
    Targets - Hydration, Skin repair
    Format - Water-Based Serum
    Regimen Step - Before Oils/Creams
    Conflicts - None
    Time of Use - AM, and PM
    The general rule of thumb for order of application is:
    1. Water-based serums
    2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
    3. Creams & suspensions
    Important:
    If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). And it’s recommended applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing.
    And a maximum of three serum formulations in a single regimen.
    Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!!

    Hello! New subbie here ✨✨ I randomly searched UA-cam about this serum and your video first popped and I’m inlove thank god I found you what a breathe of fresh air you are ☀️ I picked this serum up randomly as it’s under $14 here in Australia and thought why not! But couldn’t find much info expect it being a dupe for hyaluronic with the HA or AH? I can’t remember which one anyway I’ve used it a handful of times and I think it’s good but maybe don’t layer it with it hyaluronic acid ?? I dunno but the more moisture in the skin the better especially it’s winter in Australia atm

    Hi Melissa! 💕
    I am thinking about giving this product a try. I been on a journey trying to find products that my skin likes. I am struggling with dehydration on my cheek areas (I have always had oily skin but seems like this is changing to combination and I am really trying to find out what my skin likes best now as I also experienced a bit of eczema on my cheeks previously). Given that it is summer and it super warm now - I am using the Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel in the morning and at night I use the Cosrx rice mask, however I have recently incorporated back the Avene hydrance intense serum. So I was wondering if I could use this in the morning with the Benton gel and also add it in the night with the Avene serum and the cosrx mask? I use the cerave foaming cleanser and use the avene high protection (for dry skin) sunscreen (I have been also struggling with finding a sunscreen that would not cause irritation on my cheeks and this one seems to work but gives me more of a shine on t-zone which is fine I guess). Hope you are enjoying the summer and are well ☺️ And thank you beforehand 💗

      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  2 роки тому +1

      Hey! :)
      Yes, that's fine.
      I also want to mention a little tip; using The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA or NIOD Hydration Vaccine are great moisturizers to rebuild and strengthen your skin barrier. This may be a great option for you. You can use either one of them with your current serums.
      If your sunscreen is hydrating enough, there is no need to use a gel or moisturizer beforehand.
      You can use setting powder (translucent makeup powder) to mattify your sunscreen once you have applied it.

      @@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thank you for your tips. My husband uses the TO natural moisturizers factors + HA, I have stolen a bit tonight to see how my skin likes it - so far it feels ok. (When I was dealing with eczema a year ago, and other health issues which also affected my skin, it kinda didn’t like it much and it would sting and it was the LRP lipikar balm AP + M that helped a lot to cool it down and restore the skin barrier)
      I will also check out the NIOD hydration vaccine - and probably the Embryolisse
      Lait-Crème Concentré though it has scent.

Someone says yes but wash it off after (i don’t understand why it needs to be washed off, seeing that you can leave it on on the face). I have a dry, sensitive, and itchy scalp atm and I’m looking for solutions. But I don’t wash my hair every day so washing it off after would be a challenge. Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

      Hey! 😊
      Hm... I mean, you can technically use it on your scalp and then leave it on. However, I'm not sure how much you would need to use. I've used The Ordinary Hair Serum on my hair/scalp (they also have a hydrating one) for some time. However, with my hair, I felt the need to wash it every day, as otherwise, my hair looked oily. Now, this might be different for you! 😊

Can I drop Matrixyl and Marine Hyalauronics into my hand together, rub my hands then apply it OR should I apply one, wait for it to absorb, then apply the other one? You're the first person I've heard say to apply in the order of concern and it made a light bulb go off in my brain lol. @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому

      Hyaluronic Acid also does not need to be applied on wet skin . 2 scammers just made that up to get some attention, or who knows? But a lot of people copied it.
      Hyaluronic Acid cannot absorb more water. So it has already done this in the formulation.
      While you wash your face, the skin absorbs water, making it damp. You want to achieve that, but the remaining water drops on the surface are wet skin.
      You wash your face
      take a clean towel and pat it "dry" (which is damp)
      now you apply your Hyaluronic Acid or Marine Hyaluronics
      then an additional "seal" if needed

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  3 роки тому +2

      Well, you can do a patch test if you have never used the product before, yes. No, it is not necessary to put sunscreen on. However, I recommend using SPF25 if you are exposed to the sun to keep your skin younger for a more extended period and prevent wrinkles and discolouration as long as possible. But if you are inside most of the time there is absolutely no need; I do not do it 😉

      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому

      @@nverend4450 The Ordinary Retinol is just as good as the others, BUT the formulation is a bit oily as it is in Squalane; therefore, I like it less.
      But you will get the same results as with other retinol (considering the strength of the serum, of course). People experience irritation because they buy the most potent 1% available and not adjusting the skin to it or use a strength that is too potent for their skin to tolerate. If you use 0,2 or 0,5, you will have a good experience except for the feeling (if you do not like it).

      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому

      @@nverend4450 No, you do not need such a high strength of retinol. 0,2 and 0,5% will only do the same job if your skin converts it well. (Retinol needs to be transformed by the skin so that it can use it, and sometimes it does not do it well) But if that is the case, or you can get Adapalene or another retinoid, you will be much better off with that one (if available).
      And be careful 1% is not 1% Pure retinol; some brands use dubious numbers or marketing so that you end up with very little retinol! If you are unsure, you can ask me, and I can look or Google it to see how much pure retinol the product contains!

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому +1

      Yes, I also ask myself that question a lot now; therefore, I like to tell people to only use one or two serums in a routine because otherwise, it may just sit on top. Now depending on the treatment, it may not be an issue. So let's say you use hydration only; you may like to have a few layers so that it looks hydrated during the entire day. Also, it depends on the texture and what ingredients are used in the formulation, and since Marine Hyaluronic is almost like water, it may not be an issue.
