I hand feed all my dogs to start. Whiskey still gets hand fed at two years old because he’s a very dominant dog. I want him to understand he only eats if it comes from my hand. Helps keep him gentle. Plus we use feeding time to teach new things. It truly helps build the bond and relationship. I will feed Whiskey by hand twice a day for the rest of his life! Feeding by hand is the best way to go with a dog like whiskey.
Hi what size harness do you have for your dog? I just adopted a malinois pup from a shelter and trying to get an idea if I need a large or medium size when she’s grown.
Yes of course! I mean they are involved with absolutely everything we do but i don’t have to entertain them with anything like frisbee or training. Heck we just had a week of the whole house being super sick and the dogs were calm and respectful while we got better.
Hey there, really nice and interesting video. You have 2 amazing dogs there, i guess it took a lot of time and work. Why does one of em gets his food per hand? I hope i did not miss the information in the video, but if so, i am sorry. Just curious btw. cause i did it with my rescue dog in the beginning hoping we would built faster and better bond. Now i wanted to know if there are more reasons maybe to do it? Im still kinda new to having a dog.
Thank you ! It has been a TON of work but totally worth every second. I’ve been watching some of your videos and was wondering if you could do one on how you trained whiskey and freedom. Also I was wondering what type of harness that freedom is wearing in you videos. I am currently looking to get a mal for my next service dog and was wondering if you could give me any advice. Great videos pls keep them coming.
Unfortunately there’s no tag on Freedoms vest. My friend actually gifted me that vest when I got the dogs. I believe they just ordered it off Amazon. My advice would be…consistency is key with a Malinois. Time is everything. They need a good two years to learn every behavior you like and don’t like. Mental exercise will tire them way faster then physical. Buy from a breeder that has the dog personality your looking for. So if your looking for service work don’t buy from a competition breeder. They turn out to be exactly how you raise them. So put in the time! Don’t allow any cute puppy behavior that your not going to like when they are full grown monsters! Enjoy, have fun, love love love!!!
Except for the dog food these are awesomely trained dogs. Nothing against the dry just add water or broth. Feed the whole egg and raw. I spend at least 4-5 hours everyday with mine. 4-6 miles plus swimming and training. I’m semi retired and people ask what am I going to do with all my free time, what free time.
Thank you but I don’t do raw eggs for a reason. Whiskey helps collect Chicken eggs from the coop. I have trained him not to eat the raw only to collect the raw eggs. So he knows any boiled egg is for him no questions asked! It’s just my crazy method that works for us. My dogs know they have to relax for two hours after eating so I don’t add water and broth is way too high in sodium for a dog. My dogs are with us 24/7/365. We don’t do hours…we are in training all day every day! Even having fun is training! Although we don’t do miles of any sort we do hours of mental stimulation. Your absolutely correct…. Life with a Malinois….= no free time! I love it!

I was quite upset when my dogs died of old age back in late 2017 early 18.. and i swore mever to comit again but lifes too short... i genuinly can't wait now ! Thanks again .
Thank you for the kind words. I’m excited for you! 4-5 years is a long time to wait and also a very good decision! You are going to have your hands full juggling toddler and puppy! Teach both the child and the puppy how to respect each other and they will be friends for life!
GSD Life but I can relate lol so fun
Love pet supplies plus (and usually forget my coupons too!)
Out of curiosity, why do you feed one in the bowl and one with your hand
We have 2 identical Mal's. Only difference is both ours are females.
I have a question. Have you had a one day without need to attend them .
Yes of course! I mean they are involved with absolutely everything we do but i don’t have to entertain them with anything like frisbee or training. Heck we just had a week of the whole house being super sick and the dogs were calm and respectful while we got better.
Giant maligator. Is it crossed with a east German or Czech Sheppard
Hw is it going with your Belgium mal?
is the darker on fawn sable or gray sable? i have a belgian mal with the same color as her and i m confused
These dogs are very well trained!! You can't get one and expect it to behave like these 2! These people put in alot of time!
Thank you! I have put in a serious amount of time Training and it’s paying off!
well done
😘😘😘
Pups thinking 🤔: I'll be glad to go anywhere but not to the vets.
So True!
Those dogs are beautiful. I wish my GSD would walk like that, his drive is through the roof. Any tips are appreciated !
Enjoy, have fun, love love love!!!
how do you train them to fetch things?? thats so freaking cool! (sorry, i'm new to the channel)
Don’t ever apologize. Lots and lots of training and practice!
@@neucounty 😁 ahh okay, thank you so so much! your dogs are gorgeous Btw
I love it!
Is that food price for a week?
