Once it's completely dry I like to store mine in the freezer to prevent bacteria and mold growth, just let it sit out for a while before you refill it.
Ditto! I also pop mine into a gallon Ziploc to keep it from getting ripped by my midnight pizza searches... lol I also just clean mine with white vinegar instead of all the chemicals.
Does it end up tasting like vinegar then?
@@greyglassL92 not if you rinse well, but you gotta rinse that bad boi
@@leapintothewild so no dishwashing soap needed?
@@greyglassL92 Nope - that's a common myth about vinegar. Just rinse it out! Vinegar actually makes things smell fresh, thus why it's so popular to use in the rinse cycle for laundry too.
The whisk trick is awesome. Thanks!
so...how do you get all the water out of the tube?
Thanks for the whisk hack!
You're most welcome. Thanks for watching!
This doesn't explain how to get the hose dry. We use ours weekly and rinse it out each time but I can't believe it's okay to just leave water droplets in the hose all week. And the scrubber that came with mine got so stuck the first time I used it that I thought I'd never be able to get it out. I like having them but it's getting to be a real pain.
I spin mine as fast as I can with the mouth tip off.....usually dispels all the water.
Wooow awsome
If I am going on a three day hike, do I need to clean the bladder on the hike? Can I just keep refilling it and clean it when I get home?
magicattic I went on a 3-4 day backpacking trip and didn’t clean it until after
@@grimnewt89 thank you! Just did 110 km in 3 days. No washing needed the whole time.
I never clean mine, I just buy a new one, use it for that trip, then toss it and get a new one... I've used them for five or six days straight before replacing them when using just clear water...
I just use them for a weekend then toss it and buy a new one. You'll never get that thing fully clean in all the nooks and crannies of the hose barbs and valves and such... And also never get it fully dry for storage like that... If you use it all the time it's probably not an issue as it won't ever have time to brew up a big batch, but if you put it away for months at a time it could pose a serious health risk...
toadamine hope your not serious about throwing them out
@@kilroywashere9343 I am, I wish someone made a better system...
@@kilroywashere9343 seriously. so wasteful.
Do not throw it out every use. This leads to landfill build up for future generations to have to worry about 😢
too much work, i'll stick to a bottle
