how many years does the battery/batteries last and how much to replace each?

No thanks. Roughing it off the ground is enough for me. I can’t imagine the maintenance and that’s a lot of battery, likely more expensive than an entire conventional unit. Splatted with mayflies I bet it doesn’t look as impressive. I can tow mine, back it in, and have it set up, secure and level and be cooking dinner in under an hour, and burn a few calories doing it. Sleek and impressive to look at, but way more expensive than being enjoyable and easy. Camping for us is outdoor living and a place to play cards and games out of the rain. Not for everyone, but impressive to look at.
I think the ceiling in bedroom is coming down the bathroom is not water sealed I’m guessing may not be sealed in other places it is cool rv I’ve built rvs for 35 years yea it’s new and should sell good if it don’t fall apart
Nothing is cheaper and more convenient and less hassle as my tent. 40 years, no issues. 👍
lol....lol...i agree...think on this, during the covid, consumers were fooled into buying rigs to get away safely...now that it's all over, they are stuck with that rig paying some 12 years contract...and the upkeep is costly...
I hear ya. These Jet setters think we all have the Money to live some Rich lifestyle where we all eat, drink and live like this. For most of us its just not realistic in any way.

One of the things that I would have done was give that RV a double axle. Most people who look for a trailer know that a flat tire on a single axle can be catastrophic. Dual axle are the way to go. Less damage to the trailer and easier to get off the road.

Good thought.... done that been there ... I bought high ply tires so if and when it happens I can drive safely to get it fixed ... I drove 25 miles .

I have observed the camping industry since my current camper was built in 1972. I have had the camper since 1998, I knew the original owner. The interior is 10' front to back and as modified sleeps 2 adults and somewhat heavier than when first purchased, (more than double the weight at 2300 pounds now). I tow with a Ford F150 so no worries. My camper cost about $1200.00 when new. I purchased it used for $300.00 in unloved condition. It took me several modifications to get the trailer to the point I now have it. At the current price point I can purchase many much more capable trailers and a nice downpayment on a new tow vehicle. Camping is supposed to be a simpler life not a techno dream you will never recover from. Some people will purchase and love this trailer but the camp sites locations in many parts of the world will preclude the use of this trailer. I did not see the weight of the trailer but with batteries and motors and electronics and all the rest of the niceities I'll bet it's significant. I prefer BLM land and remote camping with no people sitting in their RV's coming out once in a while to reset the AC while making more noise than a pack of ferral children. So I do agree this camper will help destroy the RV industry but not as you imagine as in my view it will just price people out of the market . At that price if used for weekends and vacations it is impossible to justify. Stay in an all inclusive resort and rent a new car everywhere you go it will be cheaper.

Definitely need some improvements. Cabinets would be better with doors hinge or roll-up. What about screens for windows & door. Awning is necessity! Also offer different color schemes for interior. Didn't see any under/outside storage bays. Need someplace for lawn chairs, sewer & water hoses, etc. Will be interesting to see how this develops. They definitely have some new innovative designs.
Starting at $109K is out of reach for many but hopefully it will actually change RV offerings in future for the better.

@@leecowell8165That's probably true, but with the way this trailer is built and all the special features such as having its own motors to save fuel while charging the batteries from solar while driving & the ability to actually use some of the on-board battery to charge your EV is also unique. I'd say the price is not that much out of line for what you're getting.

This is how most innovations go. They are very expensive at first, but level out later. Remember how expensive (and HUGE) microwave ovens were? And VCR's? And who would have thought that anyone would own a personal computer back in the 70's.
I think if you look at the expected life of the Pebble and using more and using it at home, a person could justify the currect price tag, which will hopefully come down after they start mass production.
Like many, I purchased my first RV during Covid. A Mercedes chassis Winnebago. While happy with the Mercedes portion, I was appalled by the lack of quality and craftsmanship of the RV itself. Several water leaks, electrical problems and the slide left gaping holes for cold air or varmints to enter, etc etc...! While doing constant repairs while on the road, I found the overall craftsmanship to be severely lacking in those places you're not supposed to see. It became so unenjoyable I sold it this spring and breathed a huge sigh of relief to be done with it. I actually love the lifestyle and should we decide to do it again, it will be with something like this Pebble! Thankyou Pebble for answering the much neglected call!!
Modern RV's fall into the same construction pitfalls as trailer homes. They really are only designed to last 10 years before major repairs. Kind of like modern home construction if you use any of the major builders (toll brothers and the like)

I bought a brand new Thor Tellaro . The craftsmanship was PATHETIC . One thing after another broke, fell off, wrong parts were used when manufacturing and THOR did NOT care. Their service flat out SUCKS. My unit is now in better condition than when I bought new thanks to me and friend fixed sooooooooooooooooooooo many things. Thor Motorcoach, shame on u all
Excellent comments here - unfortunately Mercedes-like quality is so difficult to find in the RV world.
We searched high and low for an RV with a bed, living room, dining room, bathroom and shower for a couple, we finally found our ideal camper. It serves every thing we looked for. This camper has no relaxing living room! The office in the back defeats the purpose of camping! Wow! Totally unimpressed. Mine is 25’ long with all the comforts of home for 2 people and can still leave room for guests. Light and easy to pull.
Forest River 23RBHL Hyper Lite. Fully solar ready with a full 120v home refrigerator. It’s awesome.
Okay, from a RV tech to you: The style is definitely clean and looks great. But the quality isn’t better than other RVs on the market. Maybe many of them, but not all. There are rv manufacturers that are using larger and thicker aluminum framing with actual lumber in the center of the tube. Far stronger frames and quality roof truss designs. Solid plumbing and electrical work. I’d buy a Northwood or Lance before this. And for the price, I’ll take a used airstream from mid 2000s at peak quality.
My dad just gave us his 2002 Georgie-Boy 2950 DS. The workmanship is INSANE compared to the new rubbish made of toilet paper and broken promises. All solid, clear wood. Completely quiet on a smooth road at 70 MPH.
How bout those engineers get together and make an actual camper that won't fall apart in its first 300 miles? That thing is not a camper. It's a status symbol for those people who've ruined camping for the majority.

You must first find a company that isn’t greed driven, and lacking a moral compass. Sadly, that seems to no longer exist in humans today. The humans running the rv industry today value greed over a quality product they can actually be proud of. Like many other American things, our RVs are a joke as well in other countries because our product quality is absolute trash.
I agree! I don't think it goes with nature, it looks too modern and cold. They have good ideas but I don't like the way it looks.
They could, but America is greedy. They will use toothpicks if if means someone can get rich off screwing others over.
A few questions:
1) Three season / 4 season? Temp it is good too?
2) Has a black tank. Seems like with this much electric, it would be a good candidate for an incinerating toilet.
3) Maybe I missed it but it doesn't seem to have much outside storage.

Two things. With only one axle this rig needs REAL flat free tires and inflation/heat monitoring. Also, how about another ramp style door in the rear where the sitting space is for the “office”? Some of us want to take bicycles, a scooter, or motorbike along! Add a couple of recessed tire down points and voila! Might want bigger wheels on the front hitch also. Nice to see such out of the box thinking.
I don't know.. sounds super expensive but the biggest issue I have is when you have a trailer "towing itself", you'll probably end up with a trailer pushing you.. not exactly something you want to happen..
The fact that he kept saying a full size pick up instead of saying a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.. Engineers may have great ideas but until introduced into the real world & worked on by technicians...
I was an auto tech for 32 yrs.. some of the things engineers design are completely out to lunch..
I wish that the upper storage cabinetdoors would flip up instead of pulling down.
For those interested this "starts" at $110,000 which means more like $150,000.

5:51 rv quality is exactly where the consumer wants it. If we wanted to pay for high quality Brinkley and Airstream would be number one in sales. The Pebble is an awesome rv. Wish them the best!
One thing I think about as a woman who has no RV knowledge is that I could set this up and I could tow this. It's simplified yet full of tech I love.

I can buy a well equipped new 24 foot trailer from my local RV dealer for 30k, a used pickup with 40k miles on it for 35k (ram 2500 crew cab), and drive it 50k miles assuming 6 dollars a gallon price and 7mpg . before i spend 109k. If i can drop 110k on a trailer I'm not concerned about saving money at the gas pumps. Like the EV car industry, the appeal to the masses only works on people to wealthy or elitist to actually do the math.
@@chads.6927 That may be true but you miss the point of this high tech RV. It's pretty awesome and hopefully it'll set a new standard and eventually similar RV's will be more affordable. Like any new tech it is pricey.

Because somebody has to pay for the production cost and still make a profit . Supply and demand is the undefeated champion of commerce and that never changes .

I would really love to see them make an off road version. Here in Australia, the best campsites are out in the bush and the low profile of the Pebble would only be suited to sealed roads. For example, one of my favorite camp spots is on the Murray River in Victoria (Tocumwal) and it can be a hectic track full of ruts to get there and them the best place to set up is right on the beach in the sand. Sure the motorized trailer would def get you out of the bog, but imagine the possibilities of this trailer had independent suspension on airbags that could raise for rough tracks. Great vid none the less.
True. Off road and perhaps solar FILM added to it too, or an extendable solar "something" to boost the day time solar collection whilst parked. For example.. an annex could be solar. Aussies love their annex's :-)

One thing that it will be better, if they make the cabinets door open upwards, it will be more convenient and it won’t take way for its competitor. A++ on this video.
That tiny little wheel in the front isn’t gonna roll on gravel or over bumps in a real life campground.
I feel when they build these campers is to get rid of booth dinettes and recliners, more storage.. a lay flat table with 2 chairs a couch with under storage not the couches they put in them there to big and bulky. You need walk room and storage.
I can see the Pebble Flow in a 55 & over RV park as the ultimate retirement home solution.
Probably okay if you live alone but not with a spouse. Probably too small its not a big Airstream (which would be a lot more practical)
It's beautiful and is taking leaps forward for the RV industry. I'm wondering how long the expansive glass window will last without damage in the front? Yes it has storage, but is it all practical? Small stuff is covered but what about small appliances? Im guessing at this pricepoint, buyers will want space for a custom ice maker, wine bottle storage and a cappuccino machine. The fridge without a separate freezer is headache to defrost and barely holds much beyond ice cube trays. How long are the batteries under warranty? As someone who cooks, a three burner induction top, one that can fit a rectangular griddle and another pot or pan, is much better for cooking family meals. It's maybe just me, but I would be a little paranoid of the privacy glass being switched off at an inconvenient time in the bathroom. Just some potential tweak ideas. My hat off to both of these engineers for committing to producing such an innovative product for the camping enthusiasts. They should look into streamlining the motorcoach portion of this life style. Electric motor coaches

Lightship actually had a prototype out a few months ago that's very similar. It's an EV camper with integrated solar panels as well. It's great to see all of the innovation going on right now.

My wife and I really like the innovative tech in this camper but with all the high tech wonders they missed something simple. Most people are not 6’ tall and those drop down upper cabinet doors over the kitchen are useless. That’s why most RV cabinet doors like that swing up - or at least horizontally. At 5’6” tall there is no way I could reach anything in those cabinets. Simple design fix and they’d have a much more functional camper. Nice job showcasing this RV - it’s way cool.
if ya can't carry a simple step stool then maybe at the base board a slide out 4 inch step could be useful. idk just thinking

As an European I must say the technical innovations are great, the interior I find very sterile and there is not that much storing space extra compared to a modern European RV. The legs that you find so special are normal on many European caravans ( RV 's). The automatic levelling system has been available here for some years . I do agree with many of the other comments as well. So all in all not that special.
RHM, you are right about European caravans being ahead of the US. Kinda hard to find Vids showing European caravans, but have seen some. I like modern interior but was thinking the same thing that this trailer interior is sterile. The guy on the right at the table is more than likely from Europe so he took some of those ideas from European caravans and incorporated them into this rig. It is new here in the US and long past due for sure.
Yes, but for US RV'rs used to see the same junk for the last 50 years, it is something shocking... There is a lot of work to do to educate them: imagine, some of them are still asking for slideouts...

One thing I wish builders would think about and fix is the fact that when you put the dinette into a bed, especially this one, you now have half a dozen "splits" for your hips and shoulders to wedge into. How hard is it to include a thin mattress cover with little "plugs" to fill those splits? It doesn't have to be any thicker than a bath towel- but it needs to have "slabs" on the underside that fit into those cushion splits.
I know that sounds like such a ridiculous minor thing to fuss about- but when you've spent a couple nights on those beds you'll understand. Where the cushions come together is usually where your hip lands if you're a side sleeper. The cushions simply aren't firm enough to support the weight of an adult and so you sink into those splits between the cushions. Good luck getting any sleep. 😂
Maybe I should invent it myself? I can assure you it would fly off the shelves 😅. Unfortunately there are simply too many models with too many different cushion configurations... Maybe?

Quality control has nothing to do with scale ( the morons at GM used to argue the opposite, that when you make a lot of something quality is impossible..).
Obviously you can't tell anything from a prototype or what it will be like when produced. It is kind of ironic when he says auto engineering, in that the mass rv industry is auto engineering ....in the pre 1990s US auto industry.
I suspect what they mean are things known as lean production:
1) not buying cheap components from suppliers based only on low price, and having little quality control. I was in a tiffin and saw hardware that was cheap grade Home Depot level of quality.
It means working with suppliers, designing the components w the supplier, and having quality standards. If components are bad , you don't throw them away or send them back for a credit., you find out why they are bad& fix the problem.
It works because they also don't inventory parts, they get a continuous supply. No incentive to keep using bad parts.
2) you design the unit to be manufactured properly, you dont have bolts impossible to tighten or the like.
3) you use the right materials with the thought of durability.
4) if problems happen on the assembly line, you don't fix it and go, you don't say 'let the dealer worry about it's, you figure out why it happened and fix it. Companies in.the RV industry are about churning out as much product as possible in the quickest time. If a problem happens, if a part doesnt fit, make it fit, throw some caulking at it.
5) you look at what you are making and figure out from field reports and observations what could be made better. In the auto industry the makers and the suppliers work together to improve the quality of the components& make them less expensive to make, factory & supplier share in the cost savings.
6) you train the people assembling the units on how to do it, and also train them on quality& how to improve it. Believe it or not ppl assuming the stuff know a lot about what is good& bad.
Ford, GM and Chrysler snorted when Japanese companies started making cars here ( Subaru in the mid 70s, in Indiana..where RVs are often made) ,said they would see how bad the workers were. Surprise, the cats were as good or sometimes better than the ones made in Japan.
The RV industry is generally predicated on building a ton of units fast at a cheap price. That 50 ft 5th wheel is the price it is, bc it is made cheaply. They sell them with 20 yr financing , but likely the person will dump it at a loss long before that.
Basically people complain about quality, but bc there is no competition. Ppl buy a class A well over 200k and it is bad quality.
I agree with others that this is obviously more high end, it is high tech& I wonder about things like the electric tint windows and the like. In the RV industry, the better quality units like Oliver and the like are more expensive than the mass brands.
This unit is obviously high end. The question is will it impact other brands? It could. For example, if this started cutting into airstream sales, it could force Thor industries to compete, especially if quality is the issue. To do that, they would likely have to adopt the methods they are using with the PS.
As others point out, new tech tends to be adopted on the high end. In the auto industry traction control, fuel injection, abs,permanent AWD, were in the high end it originally.
Will this shake up the RV industry? If these guys, or a competitor, apply the same principles to a regular RV too. Something like the powered wheels could be put into mass production along with the all electric, once mass produced it becomes a lot cheaper.
My guess it would take these guys or another company moving into the standard realm of RVs to have that happen. Sadly, Thor and Jayco know, despite the grumbling, that ppl will still buy their 60k 5th wheel that falls apart, bc there is no competition. Like w the US auto industry and the Japanese cars, until it affects them financially they won't change much if at all.
Hopefully this company will pioneer methods& someone working with them or inspired by them decides to invade the ordinary RV market. It might cost more, but take a look at cars today. They are expensive, but they last 250,000 miles with ordinary maintenance compared to cars that started falling apart when you left the lot. If you knew the RV would last 20 yrs instead of 5, would you pay a bit more?
A very cool trailer but my issue is with the upper cupboards, the doors are awkward when hinged on the bottom. I do love the flip area and the vast counter space.
Yep, Pebble agrees with you about the bottom-hinge and says (on their customer Discord) that they are changing the design.
Wow, I was thinking the same thing with the upper cupboards. I can see it now...over and over weight on those doors and one day...no more doors. They either need to flip up or hang down.
I agree about the cupboards. I would much prefer them to open up. I think it would be awkward reaching inside them, unless you had very long arms. This might be an issue because men have designed the cupboards. Men frequently have longer torso, and considerably longer arms.but if you picture a woman who is maybe 5 foot three with a short torso there is no way she's going to be able to reach inside these cupboards.
The RV industry is way behind on an overhaul/upgrades in every category. This is phenomenal. Brilliantly executed! Bravo! Buyers want what they pay dearly for which is quality. Buyers hate to have constant repairs and water damage. Can’t wait to get it state to state. ❤❤❤❤

At over 100k for one??? I can tell you that not many people can afford it. Rich people don't use RV and go on RV trips. They buy Yacht and go on Yacht trips, RVs are for retired and middle class people. Not many middle class and retirees can afford a $100k RV that's only sleep two people. 90% RVs out there are under $100k. Those over $100k are bigger and roomy.
Sleeping capacity of only 4 with makeshift beds really limits this for families. It's way too niche and most people will be cross-shopping this to Airstream that has been building quality trailers for 100 years. They will sell a few dozen but not enough consistently to stay around. Service will be a nightmare unless you are local. I hope they succeed but don't see it happening with the price and product offering. Battery should be optional or modular/removable and likely downsized. It's a waste to park 45kwh inside an RV/trailer. Get rid of the drivetrain as it's a costly component that is not necessary. The $7500 tax credit is extremely questionable to begin with and unlikely someone purchasing this toy would qualify with the income limits. Cut cost on unnecessary equipment to get starting closer to $90k with drivetrain and batteries optional. It becomes more compelling then.
I love it. Simple, slim lined, elegant, perfect for a retired traveling solo adventurer. Makes all others look like an aged old cumbersome brick.
I'm ready to consider my second RV purchase. This is very nice. As a single female, my issue with a travel trailer is the hitch up process especially any aspect that requires more than one person and brute strength! Does this trailer solve that issue? By the way, I like the idea of an incinerator toilet. I think the worst part of RV life is the stinky slinky and dumping!!!
Poop in a bucket and place in a plastic bag then look for a Walmart n dump. Pee in a separate bucket. Just a thought.

How about exterior awnings, slide-outs, bunks for kids. It has a lot of great ideas but falls way short of an adequate RV for a family. Reliability is however very important. It’s a good start but if you want to capture the industry, you will need to think bigger.
You will also need to think about price! This thing costs almost as much as an AIRSTREAM AND its a LOT smaller. And Airstreams are world reknown to be built like a TANK while this is completely UNPROVEN. That's a lotta $$ for something that you really have no clue about. Yeah look at Tesla. Those things are nothing but trouble for the average person that can't charge at home.

Yes it’s expensive, but has a load of real features. It’s safety oriented and is going to be very convenient. I’m one cheap SOB but this would be, IS, a serious consideration!! We have a large 36 ft RV that we leave on a permanent site. We don’t pull it! I have been looking for a separate smaller trailer we can pull for shorter trips. One consideration is a full size conversion van in 4wd/awd. Those are well over $130,000 more than the truck we have now! That makes this RV not so expensive suddenly and this thing has so many features no other RV has or even has available!! This can be towed by a midsize pickup and then the price difference to the conversion van is closer to $150,000 difference. This combination is LESS $$$, the RV is very basic interior layout wise, but that’s fine because when you are RVing you are outside. The HVAC, the parking, set up, it’s push button and effortless!! It’s roomier than the van we like, better sleeping arrangements, all the convenience. I have towed all my driving life so this style of towing is phenomenally simple!

This is refreshing to see a new RV/trailer out there. I believe this is the future, maybe not self propelled, but definitely assisted as this one is. Great and outstanding job.

IMO and concern would be the battery, EV replacement cost is around $10,000 and last about 10 years. I guess 10 grand is nothing to those that can afford this trailer. It’s beautiful though…

I think the decor should be a different color. One week in the desert and it will be filthy. Maybe a sand, or tweed, or gray. Something that hides dirt and grime better. Also do the windows and doors have screens??
Ok, This is awesome! BUT, what if you are towing with an suv that does require a little help from the trailer, and something breaks or stops working? Now you are stuck with an underpowered truck/suv that can’t handle the trailer without the help.
another concern is for those in cold climates and its rust resistance. software updates have me worried about them phasing things out like an iphone
The e-film windows are cool. Very nice dry bath. Offer a couch/living room instead of desk under the murphy bed. RV UA-camrs need to stop saying the kitchen faucet as an outside shower is cool…it’s not. Overall, the interior is a bit cold. Auto hitch, large batteries, integrated solar, electric drive wheels, and rising hitch cover are neat. Nice concept.
Watched a few videos it looks completely amazing... I know it's a prototype but I think it will be great once they tie up a few issues...
I like all of the features that were described, like the application that controls the Pebble, but are there manual overrides or manual controls for, not if, but when, the communication is lost or a component fails? It wouldn’t be good to be stuck boondocking remotely and not be able to raise the jacks or hook up the RV.
Another, “Annoyance”, is the Murphy bed. I thought that would be a good idea, but after some time it becomes an annoyance always tearing down and making a bed and in this case an office, as well.
I’m planning to build a rig (Ambulance) and will no longer incorporate a Murphy bed; instead I plan to lower/raise a bed to minimalize the office/bedroom transition 😉

It's not just about towing a certain amount behind an SUV vs a 3/4 or 1 ton truck but also the abilities of that vehicle to control the towed trailer.. I would be very hesitant to tow anything more than a couple thousand pounds with most SUV's simply because they don't have the ability to control any sizeable load both with sway and braking.
Oh it'll be a space pod.With only one axle...and lightweight..and small tow vehicle...crosswinds will eat it up.Side suck from semis will slam it too.Why doesn't some manufacturer put one wheel under the tongue taking weight off the rear hitch.But...if people want safe travel trailering they really need a 2500.No self pulling trailer can solve the problem of stability.Tow vehicle to safely control any trailer needs to be at least 6500 pounds.
This and Lightship will disrupt the industry, vigorous testing and focus groups (experienced people) will enable some functional aspects to be refined e.g. cupboard openings (not practical), storage capacity, dumping black/grey tank. The tech is a game changer for sure, overall design is great and no doubt will improve over time once they begin production. We caravan throughout the year in New Zealand, in all seasons, beach, near the mountains etc summertime insect screens are a necessity at front door and window openings, my Aussie mates would agree too (I realise there is aircon). One issue with many "trailers" in NZ is the fridge, they struggle in summer months, the compressors work overtime, one that can handle 30+ (celsius) temperatures with a decent freezer capacity is what many in this part of the world like/want. Ok you can't fit everything in.......just some feedback from down under, particularly as I want one albeit converted to our electrical requirements for NZ.
Fridges that are VDC powered work very well here in FL and I guarantee they get a huge workout here. Yep 6.1-10.15 its 33C here from about 10:00-18:00 just about everyday. HOT!
Its a cool idea but I worry about the price and putting motors in it and making it self propelled are they DOT certified? Electronics are great but I'd hate to have an electronics hiccup going down a hill with this thing.
If theres a eletronic "hickup", the drive train will be able to stop it self by the regenerative braking as well as manual brakes. If for some reason the connection with the hauler is down, it wil not propell, but rather slow the whole thing down to a complete stop.
This will be way safer solution than the ordinary dead weight pushing and pulling on the hauler. It will also help stabilize the wagon, so jiggling on the road would be much less of a actual concern.

It's the reason I ONLY camp with my van alone ... no trailer hassles. This is a good leap ahead in addressing multiple problems with trailer towing, especially along the lines of quality build relieving much of the constant repair, repair, repair situation that the RV industry is unfortunately known for. The large battery and driving motors will be an area to watch for service and repair/replace guidelines, as these would be my first concern. Best of luck to a new company headed in the right direction.
THIS is a very nice idea and definitely hitting pressure points. But for families , cost is an issue. Large families use camping as a more economical way to travel. Not saying that these features are not necessary. I guess if you have the money and use it for weekends and home it seems worth it . Another big positive is RV manufacturers better step up there game. The solar upgrade is huge.How will it hold up in AZ heat ?
No outside storage for bbq, chairs, tires, jacks. The lines look sharp and a good idea to assist in towing.
I love this! But, I’d be more inclined to see one a bit shorter for a single senior citizen with a dog and a cat. I have a few mobility issues and having a smaller RV that can do all that this one can do would be a dream! And having a satellite dealership on the east coast, like Florida, or a midwest state, like Missouri, would be ideal. But if I have to travel all the way to California to pickup my trailer or to obtain service… unless the local Tesla dealership could provide it, that would be cool. My travel plans would be sweet!
Some cool features, but I expect this to have all the same issues of a early model Tesla, plus a huge amount of regulatory complexity. The power assist is completely new to the industry, so substantial changes will need to be made to state/federal laws to allow the system to be used. The serviceability is going to be a pain point, because throwing out all of the RV standard systems means that none of the normal RV dealers will know how to work on them. The high power battery means that anyone working on the system needs to understand electrical in a far more nuanced way than any current RV industry. As it is today, my Tacoma might be able to tow this without issue - but it would also earn me a ticket every time I towed, because it would exceed the 3500lb max towing capacity.
If you have the money to go this direction, I suggest you only consider it if you have a truck that could tow it without assist, and if you have the money to pay 2-3 times the typical RV maintenance and insurance costs. And are willing to deal with huge hassles to be an early adopter. Otherwise - the pricerange gets you into an Airstream of a similar size - and Airstream already eliminates most of the traditional build quality issues, still has a substantial portion of the aerodynamic features, and wont have any of the regulatory or service hoops. And it is known how well the airstream maintains value - the Pebble is really unknown.
As a long time RV'er, right away the low ground clearance and long overhands over the axle give me great concern. This trailer will scrape even leaving some gas stations, let alone off-road.
Only improvement i can think of is putting the shower seat on the other side. Its awkward being right under the faucet. Love the 2 bed layout!

I love it! I have always driven class A diesel. This is something that it could do! And a week dry camping? Forget that install a composting toilet and greatly increase fresh water capacity. And then install a filtration/treatment for grey and you could boondocks for weeks! Grey is not hard to treat/filter. Composting works! Many Boat cruisers and RV’ers going with it. I switched and love it!! No messy black tank pump outs/mess NO smell. Just a better way to do it.

That is really neat, especially remote control it into a parking spot at the RV campgrounds. Plus, solar. I noticed the one young man at Pebble had an Apple MacBook.
One thing I wish they would have more privacy in the bathroom. But I love the high tech on this RV. It reminds me of the one E-Stream that Airstream made and never done anything else with it.

My wife and I lived in an RV for 17 years. We always liked the Air Stream but we were in a severe hail storm in KS and the Air stream next to us had so many dents in it, we desided that wouldn’t work for us. We had $6000 in damage to the roof and air conditioners as it was.
So, making this product out of aluminum would be a no go for us. If it was made from plastic or fiberglass, I think this would work better for them.
With all that said, I love be the concept.

It looks like the axle is to far forward. This is a concern in loading and cross winds. The simple rule to follow is to place 60% of the weight in front of the axle and 40% behind. It doesn't matter if you're loading a single-axle, double-axle or triple-axle trailer, the 60/40 rule still applies. An unbalanced trailer can lead to trailer sway and other dangers while driving.
some interesting concepts, particularly the large electrical capacity and generation capacity. im somewhat sceptical about the propulsion system and being able to tow with smaller vehicles. the automated hitching and self propelled parking system has me really skeptical. has anyone other than company employees actually seen this in operation?
A cargo trailer company that builds for RV use had a trailer with a motor to position the unit and also I think maybe Airstream had a parking system?? Its vague in my mind, sorry.
I think it's an awesome 1st take at a viable way to efficiently tow. I'm sure the future versions will satisfy most gripes.

On the off grid. It may say a week, but I find, from my camper, that you can only stay off grid for as long as you have water, food, and don't have to dump. Especially water and dumping. Just my honest experience.

Beautiful design and ideas. Your decision on what type of vehicle to use for towing was informative. What I want to know about us stopping. With the trailer motors helping the tow vehicle keep its speed, what happens if you have to make an emergency stop, especially on a steep down grade. 😮
I would think that , by touching the brakes on the tow vehicle it would engage regen braking, like an ev based on angle sensors and how hard the brakes are applied. Some deep thinking went into this tt, and based in California, towing on mountains was not overlooked. There was a lot of info covered, even though Tom didn’t cover this question in the video. As soon as it was mentioned that this tt had dual motors and could be pulled by an suv, that question was answered in my opinion.

I love the design and the tec. One thing is that it needs to have some home comforts. Even fake curtains would soften the basic plain look. Anyone can add soft furnishing to soften the design, but some softness around the windows is a must. 😊
I can see from the iffy build quality that this is a prototype but my main concern is the long 6200 lb trailer with a single axle being towed by a mid size SUV like a BMW X5 with no weight distribution hitch? Have these "designers" ever towed a single axle rig of this length down a bumpy interstate at 70 mph? The trailer tongue will start to pogo and essential raise the rear of the tow vehicle off the ground in the right conditions. End result is a jackknife and potential roll over. When towing a trailer, it is essemtial to keep the vehicles front axle planted for both steering and braking performance.
This is a showroom gem; keep it right where it belongs. Us avid campers know, unequivocally, that this is not sustainable. Unless of course, you're someone that wants to impress friends and have the extra money to buy something that offers little practicality in the real world. If you need an explanation as to what "practicality in the real world" means when it comes to RV's/Travel Trailer, then you need to buy one of these.
If they built an off road version, something like the Aussies use, that would be a winner. That propulsion would help the tow vehicle in tough places also.
Pretty cool. I do see a problem with the upper cabinets. Lift-up cabinet doors would be better. Also, I love the rear bath layout of our Coachmen Beyond. It would be awesome to see that floorplan including the rear door access.
Agree, I have a Bailey Phoenix 760 as it has bunk beds for the kids. The cabinets are not practical with drop down openings you have to reach over the door to access storage so if you are short with short arms that will not be simple, ok I haven't stood inside myself but I'm thinking of my young kids reaching for items. I've added many extras including motor movers all of which is standard in this Pebble Flow, the tech is amazing and does take the pain out of many things particularly hitching. Storage is probably one area I'd be looking at other than that I hope we can get one for New Zealand albeit converted to our electrical standard.
I had the same thought… but realized that they likely had to do it this way so that they could maximize the cabinets’ openings given the curve of the ceiling.

It’s easy to make a one off unit where money is no object. It’s another thing to produce something in quantity at a profit for an affordable price. I love it and really hope they are successful!
few things id want to know. how long does it take to charge and at what plug, do you have extra tire, flat tires until u can get a tire, is the bed stable enough to not break, can it collect rain water and put it into the water system incase you dont have hookup, what happens if you dont have wifi can you still access your vehicle, id suggest a manually override, would be awesome if you can pull it w a car given the self propel. those are just a few ideas that come to my mind.
Running High quality tires(not trailer tires) allows many options such as run flat, winter, summer tires etc. I like the functional size of these tires also. If Pebble holds up to the real world environment, they will capture a lot of market share.

I cant say I agree with Worlds First. This is a bigger wagon, but the main thing with battery and a drive train in a camping wagon was first shown by German company Dethleff and their E.Home (search it up in the search field).
This one is a larger wagon than the Dethleff, and more modern, but they definately needs to be mentioned here.

Yes, you do still need shades. It's a shade that only goes all the way up or down, but MOST of the time we have shades half open or closed. That way you control how much sun gets in. If it's right in your eyes you'd want to close them just a touch. Not black out ALL the light. Right?👍
I really like this idea. This is fairly new so it’s a pilot start. I really am looking forward to seeing new rv models that may tailor to more space for other brands. So excited for this product. Can’t wait to see how it changes the industry. Best of luck

Except the Cybertruck has the least range towing of the Lightening, Rivian and the CT itself 🤷♂️...... And the CT is noisy as ****

I am with claudiamartin I think the cabinets need to open up not down. For short people those doors are going to be a PIA!! The bathroom is the bomb. I like all the rest. Now let’s talk price? It is sleek, modern, attractive, and practical, even without those options and the improvements are greatly appreciated. Please keep heading in this direction. You are already way ahead of the game. Just make it easily repairable and cost effective as well so u sell too many to count.

There's a REASON Airstreams do NOT have slides. Those things are HEAVY as hell AND are also a maintenance nightmare.
That's not a RV. It's a trailer. The "V" in "RV" stands for vehicle.
Although you are correct, the industry still refers to it as an RV. Recreational Vehicle should be just Motor Homes, these are Travel Trailers.

Looks like a great value. Basically, you can get Class A motorhome quality or better, with about 60% of the living space of a 42' $350K Tiffin or similar, yet the tow vehicle can be so so much smaller and lower power - A Ford F-150 works very well to tow, and you can avoid all of the extra expense and complications of the Class A propulsion. This appears to be built with the car-like quality of a Tesla - which is a ground breaking improvement for travel trailers as a whole.
I love this. It is designed to be pulled and has everything right in there to tow it. I didn’t see a t.v. In either the office area or the front room area and there was no dishwasher. Please find a way to put in a dishwasher! I love this and I will be down to see you sometime this year. I also have pets and will need room for an automated litter box too. Look forward to seeing you.
