I found this old recording on somebody's garage sale. I did not want it but the owner begged so hard for me to buy it for some reason.
Edit: As this video is gaining traction recently, no this is not ai generated. I actually took big man's recent wonderful recording and just did some splicing to match Sinatra's live recording.

no way you actually found this tape! i've been looking for it ever since i heard it on september 10th 2001, i remember that day so clearly, his voice was beautiful... and the shots... its hard to believe you uploaded this on youtube!
oh i remeber hearing it in a station near the world trade center on the same day, what a coincidence
Yeah he went out with a bang.

Yeah! I even saw him talking to some Arab guys! He sure does love diversity!
He was only 23 when he died, fly high king 🕊🕊🕊🕊

He definitely did it his way during that time in '99. Despite that, may he fly high.

He managed to live such an eventful and vast life despite that truly one of a kind
i was actually going to that show with my cousins, i really wish we went. but his death impacted our family deeply. despite his acts in early '99, i think its truly important to separate the art from the artist

This audio is truly haunting to listen to, knowing that mere minutes after this performance, he would go on to execute one of the largest scale massacres in human history.
Right before the killings of '99, "Schlott", a famous singer would sing his song "My Way" before murdering 3 women.
Shortly after the killings, He was arrested and sentenced to death by lethal injection. With his last words being "I did it my way". People say they still hear him singing through the lonely hallways of the prison.
Incredibly eerie to have this brief window into the soul of such a deranged monster. Of course, nobody knew when this came out what he would end up doing…

Hi double bass player from this show here! It's crazy you found this tape i had no idea there was one. I remember this last tour in 1999, it all had such an eerie feeling to it like it was the end of something. and unfortunately something did end.
I remember after the nearly two hour set, we played "My Way" I remember him looking strange a maniacal look on his face as he sang. at the end of the song I was looking at my bass when I heard a gunshot I immediately ran for my life and then looked back to see Schlag shooting into the crowd indiscriminately.
Terrifying the things "he" did that night.......
man... I've been looking for this video everywhere... Schlatt was one of my favorite artists growing up. I know what he did back in '99 was controversial, but you gotta seperate the art from the artist yk? (But who's to say what he did in 1999 wasn't art in its own way)
Murder suicide is one hell of a thing
Schloggort was my dad’s favorite artist back in the 90s!
It’s amazing to hear what my dad liked back then, learning what schlit did was heartwrenching though.
I was born too late to have seen him while he was alive, but my mother was there in Berlin when he sang this. She even got a signed picture from him, it's hanging on our fridge right now. She was on the train home when she heard that he had a heart attack. She always thought he'd make it through.
who would have know everything he did that day would give him a heart attack
I actually flinched to the gunshots at the end lmfao 😭
Suppose i was just so taken by his hypnotically tantalizing voice - it's like I was really there.
And while I do feel for all of the victims present on that fateful night; I can't help but to feel a little jealous. I mean i understand that you were ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and ▇▇▇▇, only then to be ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ and ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ again, but JEEZ! Not to be rude or anything, but quit your whining! I would've gladly sold my liver and my spleen to hear that man's angelic voice one last time!
TRULY, the greatest of all time.
Forever in our hearts, J. Schlatt
I saw him live back in the 80's in Iaşi, Romania. Touching stuff. after the concert I caught him at a bar down Main, shook his hand and got his autograph. We chatted awhile over some Țuică (Romanian plum vodka) when he presented me with a box and told me to meet him out front of the capital building in Bucharest. I was headed that way anyway so I met him where he instructed me to open the box. Inside was a handgun and a balaclava. He put on his and i, mine. We ended up taking the then Communist leader of Romania, Ceaucescu, and his wife out into the alley and tied their hands together. Schlatt set up a camera and hacked all the televisions in Romania, and live broadcasted us executing the two. He only said one thing to me after that. He said, "I will not die until there's not a single Communist left alive". Touching stuff. Was shocking to see him come back into the limelight after what he did in '99 and make UA-cam videos. But i remember what we did together in Bucharest.
I guess you could say he did it his way, no?

Man, I remember finding an old Jschlatt cassette 📼 in the attic of my grandpa’s house on a cold 2008 Christmas… and his music really touched me. But when my parents caught me listening to it they had some explaining to to do.
He had such a beautiful voice and seemed so charming in the interviews, so it really was a shock for me to find out that he shot 5 people on Christmas Eve of 1999🎄. Life in prison was maybe to Kind for someone like him.
The Jschlatt thing really taught me that the people on TV 📺 are rarely like the people they portray themselves as.
Merry Christmas to y’all 🎁

Jonathan ''JSchlatt'' Schlatt was an American Singer-Songwriter active from 1979 - 1999, most famous for his song ''My Way'', which revolutionized the jazz genre in something known as ''The Jazz Renaissance of 1982''. He won 31 platinum records, nine double platinum, and one triple platinum. After his 1999 performance of his hit song ''My Way'' at an unnamed musical venue located in Lower Manhattan, He was reported to have fatally shot 3 people in the chest as the song's closing notes played. After the performance, he was reported to have fled the scene by taking the emergency fire exit door located at the back of the venue. His whereabouts are currently unknown, as no one has seen him since the 1999 performance, but some speculate popular streamer ''Jschlatt'' to be Joanathan Schlatt, as they both look alike. However, police have refuted these claims, stating that the popular streamer was born on September 10, 1999, the same day the massacre occurred, so he could not have been the perpetrator. Recently, on September 8th, 2022, the NYPD pronounced Schlatt dead, due to him not being found for 24 years.

from wikipedia article on "My Way killings"
The "My Way" killings are a social phenomenon in the Philippines, referring to a number of fatal disputes which arose due to the singing of the song "My Way", popularized by Frank Sinatra, in karaoke bars (more commonly known as "videoke" in the Philippines). A New York Times article estimated the number of killings to be at least six as of 2010. Between 2002 and 2012, numerous people were killed for singing this song.
