I hate to be that person so fucking much but this cover helped me so much. I used to love Frank Sinatra. My granddad used to sing this song all the time when I was growing up. When he passed away I never got to hear that same cover again and it broke my fucking heart. I dated a guy for a bit who was really into Sinatra when he was drunk and his roommate was the same. Both of them assaulted me on separate occasions and it fucked me up for years. I couldn't listen to Sinatra, one of the few things I had left of my granddad, without hearing them singing along. When Mr Schlagg released this cover it took me months to listen to it. But hearing someone else sing it the way my granddad would while he made my shitty cereal in the morning really helped me. Whatever Schlatt has been doing between when he recorded this song and when he recorded 1999 Christmas has clearly helped him improve tremendously vocally. Both this and Santa Claus is coming to town are amazing, but he was able to sustain his notes so beautifully in the new one. His voice sounds healthier, stronger, and confident.
