i'm gonna be honest, when I found out how ridiculously easy it was to cannonball enemies with Frederick, I stopped playing everyone else and just solo'd the game with him.
He needs his bear meat - I'll just put Armor Break on his axe and have him tank hits in his boxers. Then I'll go to the voice gallery and listen to his "I need a healer!' quote because it rivals Owain's entire output for hilarity.
@@browncoatkevin he’s holding out for a healer to the end of the night. They’ve gotta have stats and they’ve gotta have mend and they’ve gotta survive the frontlines.
Honnestly, Sakura with Topsy-Turvy and Statfip can be really good. An archer dealing magic damages and having a lot of defense can be situational, but I think it' really good.
Sakura's placement is a tad strange to me. I don't think she's that far behind Takumi. Her ability to use topsy turvy and kill generals extremely effectively by attacking with her magic stat is a great niche. Also as you mentioned her moveset is fantastic. She uses every good skill well such as Luna, Astra, Galeforce, Lethality etc. Her high luck and very high magic gives her great usage in maps with a lot of generals and other tanky enemies that are a little harder for Takumi to eliminate.
As someone who already really liked Lyn and Navarre from playing the games they come from I was so happy when I realized they were the best while keeping a fun gameplay in Warriors
Thank you for making this! I found your channel through the Hyrule Warriors tier list and I gotta say I sunk way more time into FE Warriors than Hyrule Warriors, so I appreciate this. :)
I was literally just watching your "All About" series for this game and was so confused... I'm glad you now see Leo and Elise are good and Corrin is "bad" lol
Leo and Elise just need to be played with carefully. They can be easily knocked out of their combos, and Elise especially can quickly die to physical attacks if not careful.
I loved your teir list! I loved how you acknowledged how great the characters truely are in this game. I very much see where you come from with all your points and i very much agree!
Please do one for Pirate Warriors 3! It's such an underrated Warriors game, and there's so little UA-cam content of it compared to the Nintendo ones. PW4 was also just announced, so now's a good a time as ever
Awesome! I'm so glad they ported it to the Switch, so that more people can play it. If you like Musou games, you're in for a treat. In terms of moveset diversity and fun/fast combat, it can't be beat.
Hmm. I find it very difficult to argue with this list. Good job! Something to take into consideration: Statflip is good for Fredrick, Leo and Elise as it changes their str/mag into def/res, and did you know that Statflip and Topsy-Turvy can be combined? This makes str users into res users, which benefit Sakura and the Pegasus knights. This does take up two weapon slots to use though, so that's a downside.
I main as Xander and Robin in this game though I've had my fair share trying out all the characters. Out of everyone though I do use Xander in battle the most because of his play style especially once I have Astra equipped on him. It's just so useful and I just love charging around on the horse slashing all the enemies without stopping
Lin (my most played character) never felt even close to being a glass cannon. It's just so easy to not get hit with her that I never took any significant damage.
Even as I started watching this video, I figured the wyvern riders would be at the top just for that one move. Its power and radius are so stupidly broken, they trivialize just about every map you can use them on.
I love using Tiki in pair-up mode so she can grab all of the warrior gauge and awakening gauge bonuses while having a stronger character up-front. It’s like having a little bomb waiting to go off and wipe a few rooms.
I thought for the longest time Marth was meh, but his C3 actually comes out very fast and has a quite wide clear in a arc with a simple and controlled swipe animation. Means he's actually very good at clearing. In addition to respectable dueling, his lock on, dash, and good statline, I think he's better then Lucina and somewhat close to Navarre. There's also something weird going on with crits. I noticed chararacter like narvarre seem to have much better base damage on their advantage/awakening crit(even the pre-letalithy slashes deal good damage). Meanwhile Olivia seems to have a bit of a weaker crit, among some of the mages. Some crit animations are also better then others. Stuff like pegasi and Xander do a charge forward which takes longer and results in much poorer Area of Effect/messes up positioning. there's stuff to be found/considered here. The wyverns also deal a bit poorer crit damage then a few others, meaning that while their clear is good, for heavy dueling focused situation I'll take others, especially since KO count isn't terribly difficult to reach when throwing enough waveclear moves around. Perhaps nobody will read this anymore, but I don't think the entire list is entirely accurate. Specifics around movesets and base damage values just matter too much.
Kind of wish they would give FEW another go with a sequel, with FEH having been around for a few years now, they could borrow some data in regards which banners tend to draw more attention and use that to give a more diverse roster (and maybe a bunch of Lyn and Camilla alts)
Robin is my best character, he's good in any level and has such a powerful duel special. As someone who's spent a very long time playing this game, I agree with this list completely, I've always thought Corrin and Marth/Celica were lacking and that Robin was underrated to some extent. Camilla and Minerva are so broken because of "that" lol But yeah, awesome vid dude, I enjoy watching your vids because you know your stuff with these games :)
I think that I agree with your entire list for the most part. I think I’d move Leo down a bit and Lucina up a bit. And, of course, I will never agree with Minerva and Camilla being higher than Navarre and Minerva. There are actually a lot of situations where they just don’t do enough damage to generals that have a lot of HP. Meanwhile, Lyn and Navarre - ESPECIALLY Navarre - do literally everything perfectly with just the first four hits of their regular attack. Who needs combos when you already have all the area damage, speed, power, and critical damage you could possibly want by just spamming the Y button? But if you want to use their combos, well, their C6 makes you completely invincible while gathering up hundreds of enemies, doing a shit ton of damage, and absolutely demolishing critical gauges. Minerva and Camilla’s C1 is broken, don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t work in every situation. Sometimes, they actually have to fight. And in those situations, you start to recognize their flaws. Meanwhile, Lyn and Navarre have no flaws to speak of. Even the weapon triangle means very little to them because their C6 just ignores it for some reason. I can’t stress enough just how OP they are. Navarre is especially OP because of his insanely high Str, Spd, Skl, and Lck, being among the best ones in the game. They legit just don’t care about anything but slaughtering anything and everything in their path, and goddamn is it fun to do!
Ryoma/Owain are actually kinda insane I gave Ryoma astra, and was pulling of DMC level combos with him, enemy generals actually just had no time to breathe the juggling potential was crazy
See this, this right here is why we need to donate. You should be compensated for your hard work. Also interesting that you placed Niles so low. I wonder what you'll think of him when you get to Fates. He's easily one of my high B, low A tier characters in that game.
Imo this is what I really appreciate about FEW above HW, no character is truly bad/unusable. Even the bottom tier movesets are still pretty decent and servicable
@@AkameGaKillfan777 i think the summoning gate has the same problem as agitha: an effective moveset, but very difficult to use well. i know how good they can be, but i dread when the game forces me to use either
I would love to see a character prediction video for Persona 5 Scramble. Who would you like to see playable and give examples of how you would like their move sets to be.
The Phantom Thieves (Including Akechi and Kasumi) are a given. Seeing how Persona 4 Arena had characters from Persona 3, I’m willing to bet that most of the Shadow Operatives and all of the Investigation Team will be included in some way. An original character, and the Velvet Assistants.
I don't really know how to feel about this. On one hand, Minerva is my favorite character in this game, with a fun moveset, insane strength, and great mobility wrapped into one great package. On the other hand... dash C1. Almost makes me feel guilty for picking "the win button"
I know you said to look online for character builds but I'd still love to see you cover them. I've looked around online a bit for certain characters but there are a lot of varied opinions and a lot of them were made early on and without the dlc. And I think it'd help me understand more and come up with builds on my own if I had an explanation as to why the builds are considered good. But for now, great tier list and keep up the good work 👍.
I would have slotted Tiki into the S Tier. She might not start out great at the start of a fight. But once I gave her the right skills and weapon attributes, I practically turned keeps into death chambers!
Just starting a debate regarding the Warriors Games, which do you prefer mob clearers or duellists? My personal preference are duellists, as they make the harder difficulties possible to clear with lower level characters. Like for example with Dynasty Warriors Gundam the Epyon as a duellist, was easier to play on the hardest difficulties than the Wing Gundam 0 which had one of the best AOEs in the game. This all said Fire Emblem Warriors is my favourite Warriors game of all time.. My favourite duellist in Fire Emblem Warriors is Corrin, as you can clear the map without the enemy landing a single blow on you due to fast attack chains, which I have never been able to do with Olivia. For mob clearing my favourite is Azura over Camilia, because Azura has no critical vulnerabilities.
A good character needs to be able to do both, though I feel Dueling (Captains and Big Bosses) is more important since everyone can inherently mob clear.
You know this was just the video I needed. I recently got a Switch and was thinking on getting FEW since I'm a big FE and Warriors fan but I was bummed out to hear about all the clones, of the few pet peeves I can have with a Warriors title (It's why I can't stand to play WO3 despite it being so highly praised, because a lot of the DW characters are clones). Being able to see and hear just how the clones are still able to differentiate themselves from one another was a delight and has really opened up my mind on it more.
Enemy army: We have dragons, hell beast, a near infinite army, and the blessing of necromancers and evil gods Minerva and Camilla: *look at each other* AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....flatten them
Warriors games go too deep for me to reach end game stats and styles. That said, out of non dlc characters I've had the most fun playing Corrin....If I'm not interrupted so I did expect her to be placed low. A shame some of my favorites suffer from poor stat spreads, it happens!
For the most part, you don't even need to worry about minmaxing anything in any Musou game. They're all pretty simple and only if you want to do things faster should you actually care. I managed to A rank everything in FEW without putting much thought into skill builds or weapon abilities.
While yes, high luck is very important, you're really overselling how useful it is. The practical difference at level 100 really does become hard to notice unless the character is especially slouching. Also, while it does eat a slot, +20 luck as a skill more than covers a slouching character. Not that you need pavise and aegis at the same time on every character, and sol doesn't save you from the damage grade, meaning you're only really running 3 luck skills normally. That gives you 3 slots for luck+20, astra, and galeforce for the character you're playing, and luck+20, astra, and whatever utility skill you need for the AI to use like amaterasu
As a more casual Warriors player (I'm here for the Fire Emblem) I had a feeling the Wyvern riders would be top tier. I love constant diving into enemies!
Thanks for this tier list. I'm now going to grab my Switch and play some FE Warriors because destroying everything with Chrom and his insanely fast and powerful Chrom's Training Sword from his amiibo is really fun.
I think Nosferatu put her over the top there, as it's one of two HP recovery moves outside of items. Tharja's being a combo, and thus easily repeatable, favorably compares it to Linde's super move that requires a lot of charging a meter.
Thank you for this. I respect your opinions. I enjoy this game due to even though there are clones you can make each have a different purpose. For me my top and favorites are: 1. Lucina (Xander sometimes when I need speed) 2. Azura ( Cordelia when I need speed and my favorite rider) 3.Minerva (though I use her only when I have an objective to clear quickly. Lissa otherwise) 4. Robin ( I don't do well with the others except Vengeance Tharja) 5. Sakura (Topsy-Turvy. Don't care for the other bows) 6. Tiki (Only stone user but still fun) I still need to 100% this...then I can play Hyrule Warriors.
This game was far from bad, but it was very unfortunate that it had several clones to follow hyrule warriors, which had few to 0 clones (to my knowledge at least, it has been awhile) and several characters also had multiple weapons that completely changed their attacks. This game had several awesome mechanics.
i think what hurt it the most was the lack of unit diversity (no infantry axe users aside from lissa, no armor knights, no lance cavaliers, no sword fliers...) and purposefully withholding other popular characters for the sake of a sequel (ike, the most popular character in the entire franchise, is never seen or mentioned in the slightest). alongside the fateswakening favoritism that leaves very little for other, less divisive games to shine, the game just feels a bit hollow. hyrule warriors felt like a passion project while FE warriors was more like "sure, we can do that"
@@lobsterp3821 personally, i think it would benefit from from, rather than having just three games in general, it could represent three "eras" or sorts. shadow dragon to represent old era (the time it was JP exclusive), blazing blade to represent middle era (the time the series was first localized) and awakening to represent new era (awakening onward). after that, the DLC waves focus on each game in each era again, as a sort of honorably mention (my picks would be genealogy, path of radiance, and fates) for the sake of "exotic units", i have some ideas. delay the game a little to buy time for a larger roster, prioritize popular/important non-sword units like hector, deirdre, titania etc., and do what they did with lyn and celica, occasionally having units represent a game that does not get focused on. the last idea is to do what they originally planned and keep the original plans for the protagonists (rowan and lianna were originally not sword wielders, but rather had an axe and a lance respectively)
@@lobsterp3821 you make good points. FE has a much larger roster to choose from than zelda does (some characters from HW are not even fighters in the source material). one game for each era would probably be the best choice. i honestly have nothing more to add to this discussion, other than that i hope a sequel comes that fixes everything, now koei tecmo has dipped their toe in the water that is FE
i mostly used Lissa and Oboro, but changed some of my main 8 characters because you have to use others eventually. also we should have gotten Alm, Hector, Ike, Eliwood, Roy, Sigurd, black knight, eirika and a lot more characters tbh. and while we got so many clones already, they could have easily put in some more like Gunter for Frederick, Maribelle for Elise and Leo. i hope we get a sequal with more characters tbh
@@EWOODJ well bunch of characters are just the same with different models, since they didn't make new fighting styles. i am sure that makig Lyn was harder then making Lucina
I totally agree with your tier list, I may be a Robin and Xander main in this game but I’ve bought the Dlc characters kinda late before I move from 3DS to Switch that I’ve barely got to try DLC characters at all and tbh I heavily underestimated Olivia since I’ve never seen her in action till now and I agree with Camilla and Minerva being S tier because wyvern rider are definitely better than pegasus knights in this game, Camilla was one of my strongest unit I had for a while
So... the two characters that I use the most are Azura and Minerva... thanks for letting me know that one of them is broken, I'll go flatten the enemy generals now >:3
I loved the list and agree with a lot of it! I'd personally put Olivia in S tier if not top A just for how a few skills can cause her to proc Lethality 100% while in awakening. And yesss! Frederick has the greatest playstyle. Edit: Ah Navarre. If only he had a personality to go with his playstyle.
I think Lyn > Navarre because of Sol Katti's inherent Dracoslayer but otherwise I pretty much agree with everything. The game is balanced well enough that you could switch around a lot and it would still be reasonable.
"No one is ever happy with someone else's list" Think again. You pretty much mirrored what I experienced and felt about different playstyles in this game.
Caeda should be up in S too, honestly Beats swords which is the most common boss type in the game (every lord uses them, plus Xander, Ryoma, Owain, Olivia, and Navarre), loses to axes which is the least common boss type in the game (and she even has horseslayer built in, which covers Frederick). Her only losing MU in terms of bosses is Lissa, since you're gonna absolutely put a slayer and what's a better slayer than Wingslayer? She has incredibly high luck so Luna will be bonkers, she has 20 MOV so she's one of the fastest characters, her kit is amazing for dueling and it's perfectly fine for mobs. Give her spearbreaker to beat any stray lances or swordbreaker to make her win harder. Bowbreaker would work fine too. Oh, and she has staff access too, because why not? Caeda's worst flaws (big hurtbox and bow weakness) are shared with the two in S tier. I'd argue she's even better than both of them.
I'd argue with Olivia being better for dueling. Just due to how broken luck is. She can duel swords and break neutral crit gauges easily. Which leaves lances covered by armorslayer and wingslayer. That, combined with the dash queen wyverns is probably the most broken combo in the game.
@@saysay8920 Olivia is probably better with specifically dueling yeah. I'd still say Caeda is better though imo Olivia + Caeda is probably one of the craziest pair-up setups with godlike support, weapon triangle coverage, amazing dueling, and fantastic movement.

Yeah but Fredrick is fun so... I’m gonna keep playing him
He isn't bad. He's just not the best either.
i'm gonna be honest, when I found out how ridiculously easy it was to cannonball enemies with Frederick, I stopped playing everyone else and just solo'd the game with him.
Usually this is where you'd get my sympathy for main-ing bottom spot but.. started in c tier, so carry on good sir
Exactly what i thought shes even my most used archer
As someone who already really liked Lyn and Navarre from playing the games they come from I was so happy when I realized they were the best while keeping a fun gameplay in Warriors
Thank you for making this! I found your channel through the Hyrule Warriors tier list and I gotta say I sunk way more time into FE Warriors than Hyrule Warriors, so I appreciate this. :)
I was literally just watching your "All About" series for this game and was so confused... I'm glad you now see Leo and Elise are good and Corrin is "bad" lol
I can't put Corrin in quotes honestly, she doesn't feel like she functions in this game
Her moves feel so incomplete lmao
Leo and Elise just need to be played with carefully. They can be easily knocked out of their combos, and Elise especially can quickly die to physical attacks if not careful.
The problem with corrin is that she has such a small Range. Her/his Only good attack is that full dragon transformation.
I loved your teir list! I loved how you acknowledged how great the characters truely are in this game. I very much see where you come from with all your points and i very much agree!

Wyvern Dash Heavy Attack: “It’s free real estate”
Please do one for Pirate Warriors 3! It's such an underrated Warriors game, and there's so little UA-cam content of it compared to the Nintendo ones. PW4 was also just announced, so now's a good a time as ever
I just bought that on the eshop, good sale for that going on right now still (I think).
Awesome! I'm so glad they ported it to the Switch, so that more people can play it. If you like Musou games, you're in for a treat. In terms of moveset diversity and fun/fast combat, it can't be beat.
Go for it! It's my favorite Musou game, and I'm always trying to expose more people to it since it's a bit underrated.

I was just trying to find a tierlist for this game the other day, after coming across your Hyrule Warriors tier list. This is perfect.
Looks at S-tier.
Ah, I see Waifu Emblem is in effect. Good, good.
Camilla and Minerva are so broken because of "that" lol
But yeah, awesome vid dude, I enjoy watching your vids because you know your stuff with these games :)
Yes!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A WHILE! THANK YOU!
I would move Sakura a little up because of Topsy Turvy, she becomes a little more than broken against almost everything
My poor Hinoka...I was hoping she is at least B due to her high str
Ryoma/Owain are actually kinda insane
I gave Ryoma astra, and was pulling of DMC level combos with him, enemy generals actually just had no time to breathe
the juggling potential was crazy
Lyn is top-tier for me. I know Astra makes all of them stronger, but seriously, the camera cannot keep up with her. And the Mani Katti is op too
27:45 “Fantastic strength stats…”
Uh-huh…and that’s the ONLY thing that can be considered “fantastic.” Riiiiiight.

I love how you used the Dynasty Warriors 3 marching song in your outro
I might be biased, but I feel like Marth has great moves and a quite good stat spread, at least deserving B tier
Whoever decided to give the Wyvern Riders that OP bellyflop is a mad genius.
Your the one who had me get this amazing game. Thank you so much!
Imo this is what I really appreciate about FEW above HW, no character is truly bad/unusable. Even the bottom tier movesets are still pretty decent and servicable
The Summoning Gate is still a lot better than he ranked it though.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 i think the summoning gate has the same problem as agitha: an effective moveset, but very difficult to use well. i know how good they can be, but i dread when the game forces me to use either
If you give Sakura, you can give her topsy-turvy which is honestly the only way you can get a fast magic bow character.

The only problem I had with FE Warriors was the lack of Laguz/Beast Tribes. I would've loved to see Keaton

I think your list is very accurate, nicely done!
Great job on the video. I might not 100percent agree with every choice but I really liked watching it.
Great work man, subbed
You know this was just the video I needed. I recently got a Switch and was thinking on getting FEW since I'm a big FE and Warriors fan but I was bummed out to hear about all the clones, of the few pet peeves I can have with a Warriors title (It's why I can't stand to play WO3 despite it being so highly praised, because a lot of the DW characters are clones).
Being able to see and hear just how the clones are still able to differentiate themselves from one another was a delight and has really opened up my mind on it more.
Yeah this goes in line with the core fire emblem games, where every character would be a clone if it weren’t for the stats
A nice tier list. I'd have put Caeda way higher due to her luck, speed, 3 slayets, healing etc though
Lower Strength and a bow weakness (nulled by Iote's Shield, but Minerva is DLC) would move almost anyone down. Except Camilla because C1.
Enemy army: We have dragons, hell beast, a near infinite army, and the blessing of necromancers and evil gods
Minerva and Camilla: *look at each other* AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....flatten them
Warriors games go too deep for me to reach end game stats and styles.

For me my top and favorites are:
1. Lucina (Xander sometimes when I need speed)
2. Azura ( Cordelia when I need speed and my favorite rider)
3.Minerva (though I use her only when I have an objective to clear quickly. Lissa otherwise)
4. Robin ( I don't do well with the others except Vengeance Tharja)
5. Sakura (Topsy-Turvy. Don't care for the other bows)
6. Tiki (Only stone user but still fun)
I still need to 100% this...then I can play Hyrule Warriors.
Yo same!!!
This game was far from bad, but it was very unfortunate that it had several clones to follow hyrule warriors, which had few to 0 clones (to my knowledge at least, it has been awhile) and several characters also had multiple weapons that completely changed their attacks. This game had several awesome mechanics.
i think what hurt it the most was the lack of unit diversity (no infantry axe users aside from lissa, no armor knights, no lance cavaliers, no sword fliers...) and purposefully withholding other popular characters for the sake of a sequel (ike, the most popular character in the entire franchise, is never seen or mentioned in the slightest). alongside the fateswakening favoritism that leaves very little for other, less divisive games to shine, the game just feels a bit hollow. hyrule warriors felt like a passion project while FE warriors was more like "sure, we can do that"
@@lobsterp3821 personally, i think it would benefit from from, rather than having just three games in general, it could represent three "eras" or sorts. shadow dragon to represent old era (the time it was JP exclusive), blazing blade to represent middle era (the time the series was first localized) and awakening to represent new era (awakening onward). after that, the DLC waves focus on each game in each era again, as a sort of honorably mention (my picks would be genealogy, path of radiance, and fates)
for the sake of "exotic units", i have some ideas. delay the game a little to buy time for a larger roster, prioritize popular/important non-sword units like hector, deirdre, titania etc., and do what they did with lyn and celica, occasionally having units represent a game that does not get focused on. the last idea is to do what they originally planned and keep the original plans for the protagonists (rowan and lianna were originally not sword wielders, but rather had an axe and a lance respectively)
Can't wait for that Age of Calamity tier list by around January or so
i mostly used Lissa and Oboro, but changed some of my main 8 characters because you have to use others eventually. also we should have gotten Alm, Hector, Ike, Eliwood, Roy, Sigurd, black knight, eirika and a lot more characters tbh. and while we got so many clones already, they could have easily put in some more like Gunter for Frederick, Maribelle for Elise and Leo. i hope we get a sequal with more characters tbh
Three Hopes comes out this month!
Can't wait till this madman does Warriors Orochi 4.
I think Lyn > Navarre because of Sol Katti's inherent Dracoslayer but otherwise I pretty much agree with everything. The game is balanced well enough that you could switch around a lot and it would still be reasonable.
As a person who Mains Sakura throughout all of my play though of Fire Emblem Warriors, this kind of saddens me a bit.
"No one is ever happy with someone else's list"
Think again. You pretty much mirrored what I experienced and felt about different playstyles in this game.
Caeda should be up in S too, honestly
Beats swords which is the most common boss type in the game (every lord uses them, plus Xander, Ryoma, Owain, Olivia, and Navarre), loses to axes which is the least common boss type in the game (and she even has horseslayer built in, which covers Frederick).
I'd still say Caeda is better though imo
Olivia + Caeda is probably one of the craziest pair-up setups with godlike support, weapon triangle coverage, amazing dueling, and fantastic movement.
I just finish this game... My frequent use character are Lucina and Takumi (I really hate enemy's pegasus knight )
I am not a good gamer.
I feel dizzy when I use Camilla's dash 'X' attack, the camera moved so much
I have the same issue when I use Lyn (her combo attack) and I frequently missed attack on enemy because she is hard to control. (I charge towards boss but instead Lyn attacked other direction)
