It's endlessly hilarious to me that the S-tiers are up there just because they essentially brought an orbital air strike and a machine gun to a medieval setting.
I mean, he did said the S-Tier characters feel like they are playing a different game than everyone else. Is that not the case with those two? He even mentioned Impa just missing on S due to sometimes being slower to set up than the two above her. Musou games are supposed to be one Elite Unit against an army: Impa brings her own army, with their own bombs (Special Attacks).
I still believe Impa's downsides don't outweigh her strengths enough to keep her out of S Tier, and she'll always be there in my book. If Paya hadn't been such a gentle soul and followed in her grandmother's footsteps, they wouldn't have even needed to wait for Link to wake up.
I don't disagree since with enough Special Attack Charge Seals playing Impa feels like playing a different game (or at least out-of-place with the setting: BTG has an Orbital Laser, Teba has a minigun, Impa has a Bomber), but even in his opinion, she tops A. Based on his list, would you argue there is a wider gap between her and Sidon than there is between her and BTG?
Yeah I think Impa is out of S for pretty reasonable logic. Unlike teba and BT Guardian she takes time to set up and can be slow given the situation when there isn’t large clusters of weak enemies. Teba takes a simple Y combo to get in the air and then set-up done. BT guardian only needs you to hold ZR for a few seconds for free aimbot, simple set-up. She wasn’t in S because as stated S means “Overpowered” and teba and BT guardian have excellent damage, good defense, and really easy to setup therefore they are indeed OP without any downsides to pull their already OP style down. Impa doesn’t have the same “easy to setup” which overall drags down her other good traits to make her not so overpowered.
yea same I guess its a robot so I guess but one thing why is Daruk allowed and in my opinion makkosh is an s tier and at first I thought teba was bad but after I saw the reasons now I see only god Ima test him out again.
@@lajugadorasuprema9454 If you speak to the Gorons in Gerudo Town in BotW they say that although they're male they're still allowed entry into the town though I can't remember if a reason is given or its just for player speculation regarding Goron anatomy
@@faceless1434I think it has more to do with the fact that not even the gerudo can tell male and female gorons apart. Either they don't want to be rude or they just think "well, if their gender differences are so subtle, are their males actually voe?"
@@alsinakiria I mean gorons exclusively refer to one another as "brother" so I don't think "female gorons" exist hence why I think its more likely a biology thing
I think one of the best things about this game is how no one is truly bad enough to where they are just unplayable. If you love a character, you can play them and do well (with enough investment and skill), and that's something that leads to a lot more enjoyment from the game in general.
100% agree. I am really worried that people will take this list the wrong way, even though I try to express that the lowest characters in my list are only average, and still have some awesome abilities. The difference from the lowest in my C tier, to the highest in my A tier, is honestly not that much overall.
Well let's be honest, the entire Rito questline felt pretty unfinished and lackluster compared to the others. Like they did that one last and ran out of time.
What always floors me is that they gave Teba, a character who already does massive damage, the midair attack damage seal, probably the strongest single damage multiplying seal in the game. It drives his damage from good to insane. His C1, C2, and even C3 on crowds become ludicrous, not to mention his C6. I even bought a turbo controller just to see what max damage he pumps out
Yeah... turbo is kind of a necessity if you don't want to spend the rest of your life dealing with repetitive strain injuries. That stuff never fully heals. So it's unfortunate that turbo has become such an uncommon feature on game controllers. Last time I looked, I only found one good Switch controller which had it (8bitdo Pro 2). If it was common, millions of "Nintendo thumb" injuries could be avoided.
Not to mention giving him the longest lasting stasis rune in the whole game, allowing Teba to just decimate weaker guardians in one combo and do 1/3 to 1/2 damage on all other tougher bosses
Funny stuff is he was nerfed in the last patch because of how ridiculously overpowered he was. In my opinion he shouldn't be at S tier but still a solid A class character, basically because Teba and Revali lack WPG reveals but on the other hand they have a massive advantage using the midair seal which also buffs the bombs, magnesis and ice by 132% which is simply obscene. I don't want to destroy my fingers using him anymore.
@@shayminister4922 It's always funny to me when people say "decimate" in that type of context, like you implied it's greater than 1/3 or 1/2... but really, what it literally means is... reducing by 1/10th. The word is typically used to speak of great destruction, like killing 10% of a population, a.k.a. genocide. Or seizing one tenth of the resources. Either one is catastrophic at a societal scale. But when the target is an individual, it's more of a minor effect... like a 10% tax decimates a person's income, and that's a pretty low tax rate. If Teba decimated the opponent's HP, it would take at least ten cycles to reduce the HP to zero. Except if we're being strictly accurate, decimation would be 1/10th of the remainder each time... so it'd take way more than ten cycles. The HP would go to 90%, then 81%, then 72.9%, then 65.6%, 59%, 53.1%, 47.8%, 38.7%, and the tenth cycle would reach 34.9%. I understand what the comment meant -- Teba can kill almost anything in a single combo cycle. But if you want a word which is _accurate_ while still retaining the same feeling of severity, perhaps try annihilate or obliterate. Or of course there are more common words like demolish, destroy, kill, slay, etc.
Yeah, Teba was the one of the characters I had zero problem with removing a Hidden Seal from his weapon just to put another "common seal," and I cared even less about the Attack Bonus for matching 2 "off-seals." My Falcon Bow for him has 6 Midair-Attack Seals. That is a hill I have no problem dying on. Although with the high ground and boosted further just by jumping, it's more like a hill I have no problem killing on.
Also for some reason Teba’s Stasis Rune freezes enemies long enough for you to make yourself a sandwich, eat it, go take a nap, wake up, and then STILL deplete a weak-point gauge from full with virtually any move. To this day I still don’t understand why they gave him that. lol
I have just one note of complaint about your list, and it reads opposite to every other tier list I've seen. At glance this one would read as Daruk is the highest of C tier for example
I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but here it goes. With Link's one-handed weapon special ability (the bow) if you pull it out in the middle of his backflip/back dodge you will go into bullet time, making the bow significantly better.
I personally feel that Mipha should be higher than C simply because of the healing on her special attack. Oh, not for _herself,_ although it's nice there too. The real advantage of that healing is that it is pretty much the only way to heal NPCs, and many missions require keeping other characters alive, which is sometimes easier said than done. I don't think her spear play is bad enough to stuff her in C despite that. Like, yes it's frustrating that her unique action is a little unreliable, but you just have to be a bit careful with the camera: usually, when it's onscreen, she'll actually jump to it, and her aerial abilities are incredible.
thank you! I'm glad I'm not the knly one who sees her incredible ability. Mipha has never been to slow or hard for me to control. in fact I rely on her special attack heavily during tough battles. she's saved my warriors countless times and gotten me through so many levels when I thought it was impossible to win
I just started the game yesterday, so far she's my favorite to use. And like the person said above me, I've found that as long as she's facing the spring with the camera behind her she never misses the teleport.
I'm going to have to do the disagree for a a lot of reasons first of all the healing and npcs is not as useful as you think there's rarely a case where like keeping an NPC alive is the hard part the only time I've ever gotten use out of it is like my first time going through trying to unlock Suga and she just has lackluster combos the don't show weak points easily they don't shred weak points easily and another downside is her stasis is really bad it's one of the shortest in the game she just doesn't have anything that good really she's not good at single Target she's not good at multiple targets she's not going to shredding weak points she's just kind of mid and as said there's a shockingly small amount of characters you need to protect that are actually in any sort of danger by that I mean like most of the NPCs that you need to protect that don't follow you are most likely in a home base where if that gets taking you lose and most levels that have that you have four characters and the other NPCs most of the time are by you they follow you which if they follow you they rarely get attacked by enemies because you're the Agro Overall I honestly feel like she should be in c tear even though I disagree with most of these points because some of them in this video are brain dead like I will not forgive Calamity ganon's placement I do honestly agree because she's overall underwhelming compared to most of the cast and I feel like she's right next to terico And aside from that I'm using a speak into text cuz I have autism in ADHD I do not know how to spell words so if you try and correct me I am going instantly die on the spot
@@man-iz4ml Mipha is good at hitting giant enemies' weak points without the gauge exposed, and healing NPCs matters a lot for all of those missions where you have to escort a hylian captain or zora captain who's already at 2/3rds HP to a base. Once he's _in_ the base he's safe, but getting him there is a bit of a tough ask.
@@FlameUser64 I'm going to save for the first point that yeah she's in the air most of the time so she can hit natural weak points but the only problem is that it's a bit too slow and sometimes risky and yeah her healing does have some benefits but honestly like on my to play Frozen because yes I did a 100% run and I'm on a second playthrough and I'm like 68% through the game I haven't really encountered that much like areas where it would be that important it's a good feature to have I rather have it than rather not but I feel like that shouldn't really be a selling point of fish lady and more of just an added benefit
My major thing missing in this game isn’t really something that affects gameplay that much… But I would’ve loved to see all characters have unique weakness takedown animations for bosses like link has in all the hyrule warriors Feel like it would be so cool to see the ingenious ways characters would find to defeat bosses
They tried for a few. Like Urbosa does this thing where she stabs her sword in the boss then strikes herself with lighting. And seeing that on a Hinox looks so great, but doesnt really make sense for something like a Lynel really.
@@MarcDaNomad Sheikah Slate Zelda also does that. She takes a cart using magnesis and then uses stasis, then she detonates a ton of bombs until stasis releases. Looks cool on guardians.
The great faries punch, they also blow a kiss, and all 4 spawn in and explode out of their flowers showering sparkles everywhere. Princess zelda in with her light form shoots her bow, explodes light from herself, and summons a giant bow in the sky to slam a bolt of light on an enemy, master kohga has three he does too. All the characters have 3 different weak point smash animations I think but I know those 3 do
Yes they all have about three unique takedown animations But as is the usual case Link is always the only one to have a unique one for almost any boss type ennemy which is a bit too bad because they've given us the proof with some gameplays like sheikah slate zelda or even yunobo, that they can be really creative with animations and movesets
For me, Kohga is one of the best characters. I've had situations where I had to fight against 5 bosses at the same time, situations where any other character would have failed, but with Kohga, I just had to complete a full attack string and then - boom! Each and everyone of these bosses had his weakpoints absolutely destroyed.
Yeah, seems like his only issue for him was that he was unable to dodge enemies attacks. I guess if you're skilled enough or this guy is just bad at dodging, then its unfair to place him THAT low.
I'm not going to argue with balance because like I personally agree with ravali's placement and think he's bad but I'm just going to talk about my opinion on his game feel and I hate it I hate how you're so sluggish in the air when you would expect to be fast I hate having to deal with the constant struggle of going down and up down and up for his attacks his movement in the air is not on the directional which means you can only move where you're looking and you turn slowly I personally think he's bad but like maybe he's not I don't play him because he gives me a migraine every time I play him but maybe he's good but my opinion on this one character is one of the most invalid because every time I play him I feel like I'm being drilled in the skull
I was shocked to see Mipha in C tier. I’ve mained her through the majority of the game and have found that eventually her waterfall special ability is rather reliable once you get the hang of it. She’s super good with fighting Hinox and moblins!
She isn't as good compared to the S tier chars but C tier is still very good, especially considering how some chars had been F tier before in his musou list. Sooga is better than low b. It's not only his counter but the number of ways he has to reveal a weak point and in a scenario where you are fighting more than one boss or larger enemy the fact that you can put your counter while attacking and continue the combo means you can fight back much better against several bosses than you would with most other characters as you can attack one while countering the other. And the fact that his stasis deals so much weak point damage while still being dodge cancellable after the attack is done to allow more damage. You've undersold his capabilities by having him down as solely a boss killer
And also putting the guardian in S tier with the reason of being such a good boss killer a damage dealer but holding sooga back to B tier despite according to him being "the best 1 on 1 boss killer" is kind od a double standard when sooga can break down weak points similarly with his fast weak point revealing c5 and busted stasis not to mention the other things in his kit that reveal weak points
@@RancidRiki The difference is that the Guardian is a long range boss killer. Sooga is a melee range boss killer. Guardian doesn't involve a fraction of the amount of risk Sooga has to take to do what he does. If there are multiple bosses/elites around Sooga when he's fighting, it can be hard to focus on one and build up his counter gauge. Guardian can just sit back and laser for days regardless of enemies present.
@@CopShowGuy sooga doesn't really need the counter gauge buff though, it's simply a helpful bonus. And simply having a counter that can be done mid combo makes him much better against multiple bosses as he can counter attacks from one without pausing an assault on another. That and his stasis is stupid powerful and gives a good length of stasis time remaining if you dodge cancel after the slashes, added onto the fact that he has several ways of revealing weak points including his c5 which slows down enemies before revealing their weak points making it quite safe to do compared to other risky weak point revealers. It undersells sooga if you treat him as just a duelist with a good counter as he has many other busted things at his disposal
@@CopShowGuy there is a few things you can say about certain characters that will instantly be known as a marker for not playing that character enough and that one about sooga is definitely one of them saying he relies on building up his counter meter is one of the most wrong takes a man could have stupid does not need to rely on that hell I just look at that as a bonus and the whole thing of comparing Guardian to funny ninja man in your way I can bring up a couple counter arguments but I'm just going to say this sentence the main difference is that yeah one close range one's long range with the difference of one having more risk and the other one having way more reward the guardian has an orbital strike which can show weak point gauges which then you can stasis and do a combo the main drawback to this is how slow it really is sure you can do it at a safe distance but a lot of characters will have projectiles a way of rushing down so quick that it's going to be hard to get that whole combo down not to mention I feel like the guardian is not really good when it comes to fighting multiple targets the way of having his main boss Shredder attack being a C6 on a relatively slow character that can only really focus on one I feel like he's s tier or on the verge of s tier though and the dual wielding Katana anime man more focuses on getting up in the enemy's face Google has the ability of insane offense and the counter provides a surprising amount of Defense if you can use it effectively having the ability to basically deny a hit and stop the enemy's combo wow leading into a paper shredding attack with a stasis with a really good attack that you can dodge cancel the useless filler at the end to still have half of the time to do your own thing not to mention suga's C5 is probably one of the most reliable weak point showers out of basically anyone in the cast and hell with the C5 and stasis you don't even need two counter my unique action broken my controller and Suga was my main character and even then he made the entire levels I played look like a joke to wrap this all love which I don't even know if it's coherent anymore I feel like the guardian has really good shredding but it takes a while to get up a bit of a head start to said combos and sooga has some of the best fundamentals ability to start combos and ability to shred weak points while being surprisingly safe
@@man-iz4ml Gonna be honest. That's pretty difficult to read. Whatever you're trying to convey, I think Rancid Riki is saying the same thing. I'll just say I didn't say Sooga RELIES on his counter gauge. Rather it's difficult for him to use it with multiple boss enemies.
Never got around to playing the DLC, but I will say the character that clicked with me immediately was, of all people, Maz Koshia. He was so much fun to play, and never left my team. Overall, I'd say this is a fair and balanced list.
I feel like monk mas Koshia should be in S for one reason: if you use his extended c6 and fire the laser, the laser will use up the charges THEN the balls will explode, instantly refilling it. He might be the fastest killer in the game
Oh yes... I found out about this killer combo and it's amazing... And since his regular a attack string has rather long reach to space out the enemy, It is safe to do to.
Alot of his moves render him invulnerable at just the right time to avoid being stunned, usually leading to him smashing the weak points of everything on screen, if not outright killing multiple boss monsters with this combo
@@firenze6478 Well to be fair, all weapons in Monter Hunter are huge! I do quite like the greatsword, but funnily enough I also really enjoy the double shortblades.
Even as I stopped putting time into the actually game, I've still be psyched to see another video of yours pop up, and it always goes to the top of my watch-later list if I can't get to it right then. Thinking about this game's design is just a lot of fun, perhaps even more so than the actual game, and I appreciate how thoughtfully you make your tier lists. It helps that Koei Tecmo is so bad at communicating how the characters actually work! You've done a lot for my enjoyment of the game both as I was playing and after.
-"All hail the King" King in C tier. I kid, I love how each character brings something unique and fun to the roster. Great video and an end of an era. I look forward for your future vids. Cheers!
I'm my opinion (as a filthy casual...) I disagree with the placement of One-handed Link. You explained him very well, don't get me wrong; however the fact that he is built to handle every situation the game has, makes me think he should be out of top "B" and put into bottom "A". I feel like "B" tier should be for competent fighting in most scenarios, where as Link has proficiency in all scenarios. I love the video btw. You put hard work and effort into what you do and it shows.
One-handed Link has one more trick up his sleeve that doesn't seem to be mentioned here: If the unique action is triggered in mid-air, you'll shoot more arrows, with a higher rate of fire and a higher damage output. This can be done in the middle of his back dodge, so you can dodge-cancel a combo after landing the heavy hit and follow up with the arrows immediately after, making especially his last combo even better.
@@G_Knee-S Here’s one other thing about one handed Link, his final combo is probably the best in the game for chaining into itself. The only other characters I can say are better for that are King Rhoam and Sidon
There is also the simplicity of his playstyle (there is substantially less set-up with 1-Hand than even the top-Tier characters) while having no glaring weaknesses, which makes him easy to pick up and easy to master. He loses a little on the top-end for it, but still gets a chainable WPG-exposure with C6-2 and C7-2, can Perfect Parry with Shields, and gets a bonus in his Unique with Bullet-Time and more damage. I think this is just a value thing, because he mentions most of this as to why 1-Hand Link tops B-Tier, but I see them as reasons he should be in A. All that said, we are arguing over maybe a couple of spots. It's not like he had 1-Hand Link in his Mid-B or Bottom-B.
With Mipha, it really depends on who’s using her. For those that have mastered her(I.e. me) she’s easily an S tier character. Speed, good power, and healing ability would easily land her in S tier
Honestly I'm going to have to disagree first of all there's a surprisingly lack of applications the healing ability is useful for especially because this Warriors game mainly focuses on single targets with just you also damage I'm going to have to say no she does not have good damage she has very few attacks that can show weak points she doesn't have a good shredding move to shred weak points and her stasis is one of the shortest in the game and honestly I do not know what to talk about about speed she's fast I guess but I mean what's that going to get you when you can't rack up damage
Nope. Why they are S isn't dependant on you or whoever mastered them. Why they are S is because they are simply fucking broken. S is for broken. A is for mastered
This list is still just an opinion though. The guy who created this doesn't know everything, so maybe you know enough about handling this weapon to push it to A-tier or better. Wolf in Smash was generally seen as a bad-to-average character, but I knew from the start he kicked ass and now he's consistently high to top tier now that people learned him properly, for example.
Problem is the amount of risk involved and how easy they are to cancel in and out of. Two handed locks you into a lot of animations till they complete and they drain your hearts. If playing on apocalyptic that's a huge risk for not as great reward that S and S link doesn't face yet still probably deals about the same amount of damage (through weak point chains) while also working better for crowds. Even then Sword and shield link has the issue of being too slow on the special charge which makes it so it takes too long to beat a lot of damage sponge enemies in a reasonable amount of time. A tier is pretty solid because those are all characters that carry little to no risk in gameplay style while also working well against multi and single targets. Two handed is nice against single targets but very few high level challenges will ever have you focus exclusively on single target enemies which is why it's generally better to just bring a character or weapon that can do both.
something that I haven't seen anyone mention really is that whenever you are in a unique ability animation all damage is converted to temporary damage, so you can rush in, perform a c6, tank all the damage, and then heal to full. it even works in the one shot kill rounds, they still leave you with a quarter heart to spare
Mipha is easily top A tier. Heals aside, which are lifesavers, she can easily clear mobs and perform an infinite combo loop on bosses. She tears them up and keeps them from even attacking.
Something interesting I’ve come to realize is I feel like the tier list varies wildly between single player and two-player. I almost exclusively play Warriors games with my friend, so a lot of time we consider how well our characters work together, as well as how the A.I. changes to compensate for two players. If one character isn’t fast enough to make use of their stun gauge breaks, it doesn’t matter. The other player will get it. We pretty much had two modes: Divide and conquer or stun lock the enemy to death. Since pretty much day one, we have both agreed that Mipha was hands down the best character in the game due to her healing, speed, and ability to easily reveal stun gauges on Talus and Hinoxs. My personal top 3 characters after her are Two-Handed Link, Sidon, and Sooga. For him, it’s Koshai, Guardian, and Slate Zelda. Impa would be on the list… but Impa and two-player do not mix well. Frame rate drops to unplayable levels real quick.
I personally think that Sooga is middle of A tier to low S tier because of how much it can destroy bosses. His tornado can destroy so many enemies and if you can hold his counter ability, all of the attack get a huge buff.
I mean, Revali is still an infinite combo boss shredder But he was put in C because him taking damage while midair has a long stun I don't think he was counting how good one is at shredding bosses alone cause then a few characters who can one combo any boss in the game (Revali) via weakpoint exposure and stasis combos would all be S
@@RancidRiki The difference is that 1. The Guardian can do it against any boss while Sooga is best for big bosses. 2. The Guardian can do it at a super safe distance.
@@Magic_Ice the counter makes sooga considerably better than most at situations with more than 1 boss as you can counter one whilst attacking the other. Sooga is also quite good against smaller bosses if you learn the timings too, hence me saying he deserves at least an A tier
I'm glad I finally gave Teba a fair try. For me he's around level 50, with an average bow (~62 damage), and I don't have his enhanced bomb arrow ability yet. But already, he completely freaking shreds EVERYTHING. One of the few characters I didn't feel the need to "over level" at all.
Absolutely, I played the entire campaign in hard mode so wpg were super tough, and his cronus literally took out half of it every time. And his yyx just SHREDS wpg. He's incredible
I always enjoyed your videos and they helped me a lot! The only change I would make to the teir list would be the fact that master kohga should be a little higher. He has an infinite loop against almost all of the big bosses and his stress metre really isn’t a downside at all. The loop makes the boss rushes at the end of the game completely trivial. But apart from that, great video and series! I’ll be looking forward to more videos in the future!
There's a handful of characters I think got undersold here, but Sooga's the one I have to defend really. When the man can expose everybody's weak points with a single button press _and_ has bar-none the hardest-hitting Stasis in the game, it's difficult to imagine how he's rated weaker than Bow of Light and Master Cycle at least. (I also think Daruk gets better at breaking weak points if you fall back on Remote Bomb instead of Stasis. Bomb always does solid damage to pre-exposed WPs and his is quick and strong)
Yunobo can reveal weak points at will with his power, and he gets into A tier. Sooga can do the same without rng and in several different ways (such as his counter, magnesis, cryonis, c5 and c6) and has a powerful stasis and overall in my opinion a better moveset, and only gets into low b
The catch is you have to get hit... and if you're able to use the counter then you can flurry rush. Something everyone can do. Everyone can do this at a press of a button. Compare this to lets say the Cycle coming built in with Attack Speed so you can use different seals and a large AoE on its revealing attacks which can infinitely lock multiple bosses at once so they never attack you. Sooga's strength is when he is slow but once you start getting Attack Speed he ends up weak. In a non-meta environment he is probably S-Tier.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 The counter has a slightly easier timing window than Flurry Rushes though, and following it with Stasis lets you do more weak point damage in one opportunity than a Flurry Rush could (unless you stacked FR damage seals). It also makes him one of 5 characters with an answer to Guardian lasers, which cannot be perfect dodged. It also sounded to me like this tier list was written assuming all the weapons had base stats, or else I'm sure certain slower ones like Daruk and Rhoam would've been placed higher. Rhoam's spot on this tier list is also kind of a can of worms for me
A character I want to defend is Terrako. Patience is key with the benevolent bot. Wait for an enemy to reveal a weak point, then charge a laser beam while using Y Y Y X.
I’ve finally decided to play through the entire game, and thanks to your guides I’ve finally been able to enjoy it. It took me a long time to understand this game. While I still prefer the original hyrule warriors, I still love this game. It was thanks to your guides I found the game fun and not annoying and boring. Thank you for helping me love a game
20:47 The reason the Master Sword was so Powerful in Hyrule Warriors 1 is due to the LORE around it. In that Context it makes perfect sense for that to be OP. Same with the Fierce Deity.
Btw one thing that is a bit situacional from 2 handed sword link is that when he use his Zr all the damage is transfer to temporal one which is pretty good for me :V .
I think Terrako deserves a little more credit. Not only can his vacuum attack wreck mobs, but the way it builds up his Special Attack Gauge almost gives Impa a run for her money. On top of that, you can dodge cancel amidst the vacuum attack to perform additional combos.
Lol, I didn't even know Teba was THAT broken. I used and mained him right away when I got him, cuz... I like birds. And Revali was kinda bothersome for multiple reasons. But I always had a feeling like he had to be top tier, with all the crazy barrage moves he got. Funniest thing however... I never even used the attack that I just saw to be the main reason he's broken.
If you play 2p mode mipha is literally BROKEN! lets say p1 is Mipha, p2 is Link, and theres a third playable character present (Zelda). P2 link is on 3 hearts, and no more apples. If p2 switches to Zelda and then mipha uses her special near Link, it treats him like an npc and practically FULLY HEALS HIM! You can also get Link to follow Mipha and put down her healing fountain, if 2p was Link it would heal 1 quarter heart each time but when they switch to Zelda it heals Link SO FAST. Mipha is incredible in long missions in 2p mode, if you are playing in 2p and especially in Hard difficulty or higher, i would say Mipha is an A tier character.
I just want to say thank you for all the work you put into this video and your guides as well, I can honestly say that your content elevated my enjoyment of the game by letting me experience every character to their fullest, thank you so much! Also bruh all my faves are in C tier lol
That's my favorite part of the attack for it chews up their gauge rather quickly and even against the vicious enemies with a defensive tittle like "Rock solid" and so on!
-Be most forgettable champion in BOTW -Travel back in time for AoC -Be most broken, unfair, and overpowered character in game -Get replaced by son in ToTK, the only champion to be replaced -Refuse to elaborate The Teba grindset
For the most part this tier list is fairly accurate for me, but I heavily disagree with Mipha's low placement. While she's certainly not the best character, once you get a feel for the weirdness that is whether or not she will place a new fountain or go to an already placed one (or just use a c that acts as fountain), her aerials are absurdly powerful and tear through weak point guages. You can get pretty consistent with getting these off. It requires quite a bit of investment into learning her, but I think that places her at roughly a mid b tier. Sad to see this series come to a close, but it was a really great ride nonetheless. Thanks for your great content! (P.S., Impa can force WPGs with her aerial unique action, firing the kunai. She's always gonna be an S tier in my heart.)
Teba gang, let's go!!!!! The true king of birds (I always smile when in cutscenes, he acts like he's inferior to Revali, and I'm like, "dude, don't sell yourself so short!")
Right? I watched the first Hyrule Warriors ranking and disagreed because I haven't played it in ages and thought I just didn't remember the mechanics well enough to say he was way off. When he said Mipha's moveset is unreliable and ranked her as C tier, I was just like....no, he just doesn't know what he's doing
Calamity Ganon is S Tier. He has an easy time with hordes. Good Bomb Rune. Fast Attacks with good range. He doesn't need to fight defensely either. His close range attack gave good range.
Try him on a harder difficulty. You'll see he does need to play defensively. And none of those things make him S tier anyways. Mipha (my favorite) does all those things, and she definitely ain't S.
@@FoxIord Ganon has a better Runes in general. Doesn't need to dodge cancel for Stasis either. Ice cover a wide area. Bomb has a long reach, which makes any sniping enemies like Oktoroks,Archers and spitting Lizafos a joke. Magnesis is literally a free Thunder Rod always reveals a free Weak Point guage.
@@FoxIord But I will say Mipha is an excellent Healer on harder modes. While Robbie can grant free cooked apples which means you don't have to intentionally get hit by fire attacks.
Impa does infact have a easy to acces weakpoint revealing move. Pressing ZR while in the air lets you aim a Kunai at an enemy which teleports you to it and reveals its weakpoint.
Strong disagree with many C tier placements, and it shows that you really haven't learned to utilize their individual kits to the fullest. Stop. Using. Daruk's. Stasis. Daruk doesn't _need_ a conventionally good stasis because his bomb rune is one of the best in the game; C6 -> Bomb -> mash ZR absolutely destroys WPG just as fast, if not faster than anyone you placed in B. If you're getting knocked out of the air as Revali, either you've left ranged mooks around you alive or you're flying too close to the boss you're fighting, neither of which should be an issue in the first place because of how much range you have and how easily you can clear crowds with your regular combo. Not to mention how much he benefits from Midair Attack seals, boosting, among other things, his bomb rune damage so he can make giant boss WPGs disappear in the blink of an eye. Terrako's strength lies in his non-EX 1st strong attack with his fully-charged laser and, surprise surprise, his bomb rune. This little egg can put out so much burst damage that stasis literally means nothing to him. Timed properly, you can dodge-cancel his C5 and have his C1 ready by the time the enemy's WPG is exposed. King Rhoam can do pretty much everything 1H Link can do so I'm extra confused why he's in C. TL;DR use bomb runes more.
I'd also like to add that Riju's EX Rampage isn't as difficult to control or aim as he says. He makes it seem as if the timing on it is strict, but it's honestly pretty generous with the hitbox being shockingly disjointed in relation to Patricia. Much of the control issues can also be mitigated by releasing ZR during the attack to return to a normal rage-dash as soon as the attack ends. Plus hitting it will stun a boss out of ANY attack they were using, with even the strongest bosses not having stun resistance against it making Riju even safer than before. Seriously, Patricia's rampage attack is the single most consistent WPG attack up there with Guardian's orbital laser. No required rune cooldown (bombs/Slate Zelda). No conditional meter attack (Urbosa/Monk/Khoga). No internal cooldown (1H Link Bow). Don't even need to waste time building up to C5/C6. Literally just keep running at them head first. Slowdown from having the rune menu up also trivializes the timing on using Stasis out of Rampage, along with her normal strong dash attacks being an amazing weak point breaker.
It doesn't matter if Daruk's C6 destroys weak points. Most characters have a move that does that. So Daruk can do what everyone else can but also lacks Stasis. Even if the Bomb 1-shots a weak point congrats... you have a solution to Stasis but less options now. Don't get me wrong Bomb is good, but it isn't good enough.
Poor Mipha. I can't disagree with her placement, but she's always going to be my favorite to play as. I really do wish her fountain tracking was better. All that needed to be done to fix it is make ZR not spawn a fountain ever, just have you travel to your current one. Seeing as it's just her C1, I don't know why they didn't do this.
I personally think Kouga would be in A rank. He has a really neat "weak point" lock where you force the weak point to appear with the attack where he fights with his clone in a smokecloud. This has really huge stun chance through the entirety of the move. Going through the entire duration once or twice fills up the stressmeter, granting you the big laser to even further destroy the weak point. Rince and repeat, you can just continue by stunlocking them, removing their weak point gauge and their HP!
I really enjoyed Age of Calamity as my favorite game of 2020. Even though I had some issues with the game (some might not be that big of a deal), I still had a blast revisiting Hyrule in a new light. My issues with Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity: 1.Astor never interacts with the Champions during cutscenes. 2.The in-game dialogue isn’t fully voiced like Fire Emblem Warriors. 3.Even after completion, certain story missions force you to play as certain characters. Example: When you complete “The Yiga Clan Attacks,” you are still forced to play as Link during Sooga’s boss fight. 4.Even after completion, certain story missions forbid you from playing as certain characters. Example: After completing “Calamity Strikes,” you’re still forbidden to use Hestu and the Champions. 5.Impa, Hestu, Master Kohga, and King Rhoam aren’t in the cutscenes of “The Future of Hyrule.” 6.In single player, the Blight Ganon boss fights don’t allow you to swap between the matching Champion Successors. Sidon vs Waterblight, Yunobo vs Fireblight, Riju vs Thunderblight, Teba vs Windblight. 7.No allies in the final battle (Except Link and Zelda when you replay the mission) advance to the sanctum for the final battle against Calamity Ganon. 8.Ally Link doesn’t wield the weapon he is currently equipped with when playing as him, and instead always wields a Soldier’s Broadsword. 9.Hestu isn’t in the Great Deku Tree cutscene. 10.Revali’s title isn’t “Ace Archer & Aviator.” 11.Impa and Hestu (when you’re not playing as them) aren’t allies in the mission “All of Hyrule, United.” 12.Even though they’re playable, the Champions (when you aren’t playing as them) are not allies in “Freeing Korok Forest,” or “The Road home, Besieged.” 13.The Training Sword isn’t pared with the Wooden Shield and is pared with a Pot Lid instead. 14.The Windcleaver doesn’t produce sword beams when attacking with it just like how the Master Sword creates sword beams when Link is at full health. 15.Link doesn’t use the Swallow Bow when equipped with the Feathered Edge. 16.Hestu, Master Kohga, and King Rhoam aren’t in the true final cutscene. 17.Mipha, Revali, and Daruk are completely ignored in Chapter 4. 18.Astor doesn’t summon the four champion hollows and his astro force field when using Hollow Link. 19.Hestu doesn’t have any involvement in the story after Chapter 3, even though he is seen with the united army of Hyrule in the cutscene before “All of Hyrule, United.” 20.Ally Zelda doesn’t wield the weapon she is currently equipped with when playing as her, and instead always wields the Ancient Memory Part. 21.The music tracks “Mortal Struggle beneath a Blood Moon,” “The Calamity’s Revival,” “The Calamity’s Revival: Fierce,” “Crescendo,” “Worlds Converge: Sidon & Yunobo,” and “Worlds Converge: Riju & Teba,” are never played outside of story missions. 22.Instead of getting to play as Sooga (after unlocking him) at the start in the EX mission “The Yiga Clan’s Retreat,” during free play, you still need to make it to Waterblight and Fireblight without losing any allies. 23.Very few bosses gain new attacks when their second phase theme starts playing. Calamity Ganon in the mission “The Future of Hyrule,” is one of the very few. 24.The Guardian Skywatcher is just named Guardian instead of having Skywatcher added to the end of its name. 25.King Dorephan and Tulin aren’t in the character section of the gallery. 26.Impa (when you’re not playing as her) isn’t any ally during the missions “Freeing Korok Forest,” and “The Road Home, Besieged”, and isn’t even in the cutscenes of both missions. 27.The Time Traveling Guardian’s Plight doesn’t play during the EX mission “Guardian of Remembrance.” 28.Hestu isn’t an enemy in the side mission “Conquering Hyrule.” 29.Rudania doesn’t have a shield. 30.Master Kohga wasn’t in the true final cutscene of Guardian of Remembrance. 31.Hestu wasn’t in the DLC mission, “Searching Hyrule Forest.” The score I’m giving Age of Calamity: 69/100
The game for a single playthrough is good... but it all falls apart once you finish the game and no playable Astor. No proper late game missions, especially when you compare this to other Warrior games such as Fire Emblem Warriors, and the Blood Moon only being useful when it happens on the last story mission which gives you roughly a 1/20 chance of it having use. There is no rewards for higher difficulties either, to my knowledge, so Apocalyptic just prolongs fights. Also the maps were not designed with large characters in mind creating a lot of issues based on the map and even blocking your view of an enemy. I see a game I want to love, but it has so many issues in its base design.
My honest opinion of Age of Calamity is one spicy hot take: It's a better Zelda game than Breath of the Wild. By which I mean it FEELS more like a traditional Zelda title in the world of BoTW. Banger Story, none of that braindead weapon durability or stamina meter and the Music SLAPS! The gameplay can get a bit repetitive at times but new combos keep the game very interesting.
I believe Mipha belongs in at least b tier, if you build her seals to focus around attack speed and midair attack damage on the serene champions spear, she's quite the powerhouse
Just curious now that this is over do you have any plan to go over Persona 5 strikers? You only did the character preview and it be interesting to see what you think of each
I highly agree that Sidon is such a powerhouse and that he's the Lu Bu of the game (which explains why I play him a lot XD). His combos are already really good, but with the add-on buff of his ability just makes them even more devastating.
The final tier list you made is fair and reasonable only for how strong the character is or what they can do and offer. However if the tier list is made specifically for apocalyptic difficulty it would honestly be a different story and make some of the C tier characters become A or B tier because of their survivability, effectiveness and playstyle uniqueness but thats just my opinion. Just making this bold statement or opinion makes me realize if I were to make my own tier list it would heavily be on apocalyptic difficulty which would focus on character survivability, utility and comfort for playing long periods of time. The reason why I came to this conclusion is obviously because of the difficulty but also having over 700+ hours in the game. Overall I don't want to specifically state who should be higher in my opinion because my reasoning is clear enough to give you a general idea whos up there. In conclusion I am glad this game exists because it redeemed the Hyrule Warriors series since the original was abit too cringy or sometimes too much for me even as a zelda fan like myself. I mean this is a fact but Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is the best-selling warriors game of all time with currently over 4 million units sold and with that being said the sales speaks volume itself whether the game is good or not. Of course Breath of the Wild or Zelda fans helped with this all-time record, but you cannot deny that this game is actually good because of how every character is unique and good in their own way to the point where no one on the cast is actually bad.
Lmao i really haven't played the game charas enough because all i do is play godess zelda, urbosa, impa & link. It was really cool to see the different combos and gameplay footage of the diff charas! Cool vid 💅🏼💅🏼
nah putting mipha in c tier is a crime imo shes litterally one of the most OP characters in the entire game and im sure im not the only one who thinks this
The only thing I really disagree with on the list is putting Daruk at the bottom of the C tier, just because his Statis isn't able to be used like most characters. While he might struggle with destroying weak point gauges in that way, I feel like him having the strongest guard and blocking all attacks before launching right into a counterattack and his magma attacks to chain damage should keep him a bit higher than that. While other characters are required to either run or dodge certain attacks, Daruk can just guard through most of enemy attacks and then go on the offensive right after. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed your list!
But isn't dodging just another way of guarding? Daruk is very safe with his block, but really most other characters can get a lot more effectiveness compared to him. I'd say his placement is fair even though I also love using the guy.
While Daruk stands there blocking the attack without flinching... everyone else jumps to the side and gets a Flurry Rush. Daruk does well when you know something is coming and do nothing. It is like seeing something catch on fire and waiting for the sprinklers to start. You could've just poured water on it.
I kinda sorta understand kohga’s placement (even if i think he deserves at least low a tier just because of the face laser) but… sooga on b tier? The “as long as you press one button i literally can’t die” sooga? The “i beat the battle-tested guardian on maniac difficulty without taking damage with a low-level weapon in less than four minutes” sooga? The “i can cancel a stupid strong stasis rune into even more stupid strong combos” sooga? The “my low potential against big groups does not matter if i get my three parry stacks, wich i can get even _easier_ against big groups by just staying still” sooga? I really, REALLY disagree with that placement.
I think Sooga’s Remote Bomb is easily the best in the game, especially when used on a boss’s trigger. Whenever I see a Wizzrobe do his little dance in the air with the Remote Bomb icon, all I can do is lick my lips and enjoy the instant and complete depletion of the entire WPG.
Link would probably be an A or even S tier for me. The tradeoff of losing health with attacks doesn't really matter all that much because most strong attacks grant super armor, and the damage taken during said super armor is counted as temporary health loss. It does a good job with crowd control, and it's really easy to get stronger enemies in a never ending loop of exposing weak point gauges, especially when paired with stasis and special attacks to recover health
I favor beefy brawler/tank archetypes and fell in love with Yunobo's moveset the moment I unlocked him (after much frustration trying to main Daruk) and my boy never disappoints.
I'm glad you consider Urbosa and Sidon Top 5, but I also think a lot of these characters are ridiculously underrated, here are my justifications why. All strategies are tested on Apocalyptic difficulty BTW. All of these characters can easily clear gauges without Stasis, resulting in faster clear times. Revali: The biggest offender of characters you underrated. His Remote Bombs deal inhumane damage if you have tons of Midair Attack Damage Up seals. His Bomb Arrow Trap (EX Ability) allows him to stagger and expose WPG without touching the ground, which gives him 2 activators for this destructive attack. He is also better at cleaning Outposts than most characters. At least an A Tier. Cycle Zelda: C5 + Remote Bombs ALONE is enough to break most boss' WPGs without Stasis, and with her Overdrive mechanic, she can speed towards objectives with ease, just like Riju. You'll want to maintain good spacing so that you can land as many explosions as possible. Easy A Tier. Monk Maz Koshia: Extended C6 + EX Ability is the end of all bosses, free. Top 5. Riju: Riju's Dick Kick WPS may have gotten nerfed in one of the DLC patches, but her EX Dash Attack is absolutely ridiculous. She also has a parry, and her Stasis lasts longer than Link's, the character whose Stasis is considered the average. Easy A Tier. 2-Handed Sword Link: C6 is BROOOOOOKEN, and his recoil is so pitiful relative to how much damage he outputs, A Tier for sure. King Rhoam: Hermit Guise C5 + ZR still remains supreme, no need for any fancy EX abilities. Also has great Bombs and above average Stasis duration to finish off remaining chunks of WPG in a pinch. Easy A Tier. Sidon: Best C6 in the entire game alongside 2-Handed Link and Purah and Robbie , C5 turns Outposts into free gauge, easily Top 5. His Remote Bombs and Stasis suck, but the Bombs can still blow off Stone Talus arms fairly reliably, and that's fine enough for me. Master Kohga: Big Glowy Blast, extended C4 + Bombs= DIE. Thanks to his vastly superior Runes and Stress Gauge, Master Kohga is everything that Bow of Light Zelda wants to be and then some, given how both characters want to fill up a gauge and spend it on giant death lasers. A Tier. Mipha: Fountain Cancels allow for deceptively good clear times, her real issue is that her Stasis lasts shorter than Link's AND actively hinders her Fountain Cancels. Despite this, her Special Gauge and Rods will still enable proper Fountain Cancels. She can always run 2 Special Attack Charge Rate Up seals for extra gauge, and most maps contain loads of elemental bosses for free rod refills anyways. At least an A Tier character. Sword and Shield Link: C6 + backflip + Arrow still reigns supreme, no need for any fancy EX abilities. Easy S Tier. Calamity Ganon: Needs more testing, but if his EX Ability lets him break WPGs without his broken ass Magnesis OR Stasis... then he's gotta be Top 5. Slate Zelda: Easily the best character in the entire game. Faster recharge on all Runes, all of which are some of the best in the game, Boosted Magnesis staggers and exposes with ease and can melt the entire thing in 1 go with the right set ups, can Rune Counter using her normals, her whole kit benefits from Sheikah Slate boosting recipes, meaning that she doesn't have to eat Monster Food for damage boosts, turns Outposts into free gauge.... she is absolutely insane.
Revali also has one of the best stasis in the game. Let him fire his arrows before dodge cancel to his c4 then follow up with the regular ground attacks to demolish wpgs.
In my opinion, sooga should be higher. Because with the way i play him, his only weakness are smaller enemies armed with bows like bokoblins and yiga footsoldiers, and they aren't that common in most missions. Because his unseeing counterstance can be activated in the middle of his combo and then continuing the combo if unseeingis successful, i use him like you use the guardian. Every time i get off a weak point smash, i go straight into his attack string, and if I'm attacked i use unseeing. Not only does this damage any bigger enemies, it also means that any smaller melee enemies get caught up in his attacks if they get too close. Just like with other characters, if you learn the timing of enemy attacks, sooga becomes nearly impossible to take down.
You forgot to mention that Yunobo's Barrier YYYYX has a bug where, if you press ZR to cancel it right before you land then it will, for some unexplained reason, do MASSIVE amounts of extra damage. The timing is a tiny bit strict, but far from difficult to do. I dont think they ever patched this out last I checked, though I havent checked in a good while.
It hurt a little to see you put Rhoam and Sooga so low, seeing as they're probably my favourites. I understand why, at least for Rhoam, but eh. It is what it is. I feel like you underestimate Daruk a little bit. As powerful as a good Stasis is, I honestly feel like he doesn't need it. I've found that his bombs and the magma pillars they spawn do hefty damage to weak points, and anything left can be chipped away by a quick follow up with his light attacks. Either way, thank you for all the work you've done regarding this game. I don't think I'd have realised how useful several of the movesets are without your guides, especially the Monk, who I initially wanted to love, but couldn't understand.
I'd personally put Kohga either on S or A as he is ridiculously powerful all things considered, and while there is the chance at self destruction via failing to manage his stress, it's also very easy to cancel out of tumbling into the draw back and immediately shooting out a laser instead. The only times where it's truly too late to fire his laser is when he's halfway through the floor already.
I'd say the the one I'd disagree most with is Revali. He was my main for awhile before the sheikah slate, never had much trouble keeping him in the air and his basic attack string has fantastic range and speed.
I would’ve never guessed Bow of Light to be Zelda’s “worst” option, let alone Sheikah Slate being ranked the highest! It was always the other way around for me.
Issue with one hand Link's unique action is that it has an internal cooldown of about 10 seconds or so for exposing enemy weak points from critical hits. Makes it nice to finish off weakened gauges, but it's too weak to destroy them from full, and its too slow to combo into stasis.
@@anthonyk3952its not too slow to combo into stasis from what I have done. I use the bow standing on the ground to open the gauge, still have enough time to stasis the enemy after the crit, and can usually shred the whole gauge before it ends. The cooldown don't matter if the gauge is gone.
It's far easier than that. Normal combo three times, unique action while link flips for his 3rd attack and there you go. I did a no upgrade run with Link/mandatory units because I was bored one day and spammed this over and over. It's DPS is great.
There are only two S ranks in this game: Sword Link: If you know how to play basic sword link with a max upgraded sword or even a super upgraded sword, you're unkillable and will shred enemies in seconds. Sooga: Dude is built like a brick shit house and can absolutely demolish even bigger enemies with minimal effort, if you upgrade the characters to their max limit as well as use the proper weapons, especially for Sooga, he and Link as a combo would be the best way to speedrun the campaign if you so desired to go back and do so.
Teba just Doing what America done in WW2
I thought this video was an ost tier list because the music is so good. 😂
I still believe Impa's downsides don't outweigh her strengths enough to keep her out of S Tier, and she'll always be there in my book. If Paya hadn't been such a gentle soul and followed in her grandmother's footsteps, they wouldn't have even needed to wait for Link to wake up.
Imagining Paya smacking the tar out of the Blights while flustered and embarrassed XD
Impa is hands down my fav character
LMAOO The end of this comment is so funny 😭😭😭😭😭
The fact that the guardian can compete in the miss vai contest kills me for some reason
They be a beautiful woman
yea same I guess its a robot so I guess but one thing why is Daruk allowed and in my opinion makkosh is an s tier and at first I thought teba was bad but after I saw the reasons now I see only god Ima test him out again.
Yeah. When the game first came out, Daruk was one of my main characters.
Pretty true i use darok withou the ex and i literally kill all tipes of guardiand with ease because of his c4 being habble to reveal weak points.
I can totally agree. I use Mipha a lot, love her move set. Her, Urbosa, one hand/flail Link, and Teba are among my favorites to use.
There are no bad characters, only bad players
Gotta love how no one remembered Teba from BOTW, and then he’s the most busted character in AoC
They were too busy trying to kiss Sidon.
@@Nosretep Guilty as charged
@@Nosretep …Let’s be honest, we were all a little horni for the shark man-
Well let's be honest, the entire Rito questline felt pretty unfinished and lackluster compared to the others. Like they did that one last and ran out of time.
I.... like teba more than sidon... So of course i remember him
What always floors me is that they gave Teba, a character who already does massive damage, the midair attack damage seal, probably the strongest single damage multiplying seal in the game.
To this day I still don’t understand why they gave him that. lol
Thank you for making my day with this comment because it is so true
Run up next to the enemies with their Weak Points exposed, then mash X like its Mario Party. You'll see how fast he tears enemies a new one.

I have just one note of complaint about your list, and it reads opposite to every other tier list I've seen. At glance this one would read as Daruk is the highest of C tier for example
Yeah I had the same thought. I was confused why he was going backwards at first.
This was my only issue too, otherwise awesome video
I'm going to have to do the disagree for a a lot of reasons first of all the healing and npcs is not as useful as you think there's rarely a case where like keeping an NPC alive is the hard part the only time I've ever gotten use out of it is like my first time going through trying to unlock Suga and she just has lackluster combos the don't show weak points easily they don't shred weak points easily and another downside is her stasis is really bad it's one of the shortest in the game she just doesn't have anything that good really she's not good at single Target she's not good at multiple targets she's not going to shredding weak points she's just kind of mid and as said there's a shockingly small amount of characters you need to protect that are actually in any sort of danger by that I mean like most of the NPCs that you need to protect that don't follow you are most likely in a home base where if that gets taking you lose and most levels that have that you have four characters and the other NPCs most of the time are by you they follow you which if they follow you they rarely get attacked by enemies because you're the Agro
Overall I honestly feel like she should be in c tear even though I disagree with most of these points because some of them in this video are brain dead like I will not forgive Calamity ganon's placement I do honestly agree because she's overall underwhelming compared to most of the cast and I feel like she's right next to terico
And aside from that I'm using a speak into text cuz I have autism in ADHD I do not know how to spell words so if you try and correct me I am going instantly die on the spot
My major thing missing in this game isn’t really something that affects gameplay that much…
But I would’ve loved to see all characters have unique weakness takedown animations for bosses like link has in all the hyrule warriors
Feel like it would be so cool to see the ingenious ways characters would find to defeat bosses

Princess zelda in with her light form shoots her bow, explodes light from herself, and summons a giant bow in the sky to slam a bolt of light on an enemy, master kohga has three he does too. All the characters have 3 different weak point smash animations I think but I know those 3 do
Yes they all have about three unique takedown animations
But as is the usual case
Link is always the only one to have a unique one for almost any boss type ennemy which is a bit too bad because they've given us the proof with some gameplays like sheikah slate zelda or even yunobo, that they can be really creative with animations and movesets
I would have loved Link to interact more in general in this game.
It's clear they INTENDED for him to but...
Teba, Revali, 2H Link, and Sidon are my absolute favorite playstyles. Absolutely love them
For me, Kohga is one of the best characters. I've had situations where I had to fight against 5 bosses at the same time, situations where any other character would have failed, but with Kohga, I just had to complete a full attack string and then - boom! Each and everyone of these bosses had his weakpoints absolutely destroyed.

Thinking about this game's design is just a lot of fun, perhaps even more so than the actual game, and I appreciate how thoughtfully you make your tier lists.
Yep one can literally teleport across the field whiping off monster and easily swiping 300 cunts in like 1.5 minutes
yeah same here
Sames
I honestly thought Link's two handed weapons would be A or S tier. The single target damage you can rack up with it is just absolutely insane
Hestu belongs in D tier. Not because he's bad but because he gives us that stupid golden turd.
My brother and I played Co Op and we agreed Mipha and Impa were the best.
Kohga is op

I personally think that Sooga is middle of A tier to low S tier because of how much it can destroy bosses. His tornado can destroy so many enemies and if you can hold his counter ability, all of the attack get a huge buff.
Yes and he put the guardian in s for the same reason he undersold sooga as he claimed they're both really good boss killers
I mean, Revali is still an infinite combo boss shredder
But he was put in C because him taking damage while midair has a long stun
I don't think he was counting how good one is at shredding bosses alone cause then a few characters who can one combo any boss in the game (Revali) via weakpoint exposure and stasis combos would all be S
@@RancidRiki The difference is that
1. The Guardian can do it against any boss while Sooga is best for big bosses.

I’d agree with your revali placement if it wasn’t for dodging. I played revali and only found myself getting hit once maybe twice per game.
@purplerains you just compared Revali to impa. Wonder why I said he doesn’t deserve C tier?
Personally I’d put Sooga in S tier, those counterattacks are strong! And his cryonis rune is devastating if a monster breaks his master Kohga statue
Absolutely, I played the entire campaign in hard mode so wpg were super tough, and his cronus literally took out half of it every time. And his yyx just SHREDS wpg. He's incredible
So that's why Teba is replaced by his son in Tears of the Kingdom, dude would have straight up beaten Ganon by going full machine gun on him.
I hope you're doing well and that you're able to enjoy the new Fire Emblem Warriors game!
It's a shame we never got to play Astor. I could see another Young Link/Fierce Deity mechanic between him and a Calamity Ganon form.
Rhoam's spot on this tier list is also kind of a can of worms for me
@@Buglin_Burger7878 flurry rushes can't convert into a stasis however, whereas sooga's counter can. And sooga's stasis shreds

While I still prefer the original hyrule warriors, I still love this game. It was thanks to your guides I found the game fun and not annoying and boring. Thank you for helping me love a game
The only thing I hated about hyrule warriors is grinding and the cluckiness of getting better weapons vs me just getting the seals in hwaoc
20:47 The reason the Master Sword was so Powerful in Hyrule Warriors 1 is due to the LORE around it. In that Context it makes perfect sense for that to be OP. Same with the Fierce Deity.
I find it funny how (except for Riju) the "successors" to the champions are better than the champions themselves.
Not putting Impa in S is vile
Btw one thing that is a bit situacional from 2 handed sword link is that when he use his Zr all the damage is transfer to temporal one which is pretty good for me :V .
Now that you have finished covering age of calamity, what will be the future of your channel? What game will the next videos be about?
C tier is respectable!
Yunobo's c7 also has a no barrier version.
It summons a bunch of rocks to fall from the sky.
That's my favorite part of the attack for it chews up their gauge rather quickly and even against the vicious enemies with a defensive tittle like "Rock solid" and so on!
-Be most forgettable champion in BOTW
-Travel back in time for AoC
-Be most broken, unfair, and overpowered character in game
-Get replaced by son in ToTK, the only champion to be replaced
-Refuse to elaborate
The Teba grindset
A true feathered enigma
I just got Battle-Tested guardian and Sooga today. Im so happy
Teba gang, let's go!!!!! The true king of birds (I always smile when in cutscenes, he acts like he's inferior to Revali, and I'm like, "dude, don't sell yourself so short!")
the only downside to teba is that he requires you to sacrifice your fingers and the x button (strong attack)
29:47 TALK ABOUT A JUMP-SCARE!!! NOOOO!!!
26:11 Oooooh. I thought you said “effing moron” haha Had to rewind that a few times to be sure.
I feel like Link's Flail versatility is still top notch due to being able to copy weapons and use the spears as weakpoint destroyers
Characters I wish were playable in
Age of Calamity:
Pulse of the Ancients:
Kass
King Dorephan
Guardian of Remembrance:
Astor
Buleria
Golden Lynel
never let bro rank again
@@Nosretep Those are much better points. I concur.
@@FoxIord But I will say Mipha is an excellent Healer on harder modes. While Robbie can grant free cooked apples which means you don't have to intentionally get hit by fire attacks.
Teba was so OP Nintendo had to backseat him in Tears of the Kingdom
1:36 Wait, what? Ideally every Character should be S-Tier not B-Tier. WTH kind of games do you play that you enjoy substandard play-styles?
She's S-tier fun. I don't care what anybody says haha.
What do y'all overall think of Age of Calamity? Like what's your honest review of it
I really enjoyed Age of Calamity as my favorite game of 2020.
Even though I had some issues with the game (some might not be that big of a deal), I still had a blast revisiting Hyrule in a new light.
My issues with Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity:
1.Astor never interacts with the Champions during cutscenes.
5.Impa, Hestu, Master Kohga, and King Rhoam aren’t in the cutscenes of “The Future of Hyrule.”
6.In single player, the Blight Ganon boss fights don’t allow you to swap between the matching Champion Successors.
10.Revali’s title isn’t “Ace Archer & Aviator.”
11.Impa and Hestu (when you’re not playing as them) aren’t allies in the mission “All of Hyrule, United.”
12.Even though they’re playable, the Champions (when you aren’t playing as them) are not allies in “Freeing Korok Forest,” or “The Road home, Besieged.”
13.The Training Sword isn’t pared with the Wooden Shield and is pared with a Pot Lid instead.
19.Hestu doesn’t have any involvement in the story after Chapter 3, even though he is seen with the united army of Hyrule in the cutscene before “All of Hyrule, United.”
20.Ally Zelda doesn’t wield the weapon she is currently equipped with when playing as her, and instead always wields the Ancient Memory Part.
27.The Time Traveling Guardian’s Plight doesn’t play during the EX mission “Guardian of Remembrance.”
28.Hestu isn’t an enemy in the side mission “Conquering Hyrule.”
29.Rudania doesn’t have a shield.
30.Master Kohga wasn’t in the true final cutscene of Guardian of Remembrance.
31.Hestu wasn’t in the DLC mission, “Searching Hyrule Forest.”
The score I’m giving Age of Calamity:
69/100
New Champions barely interact with each other or have an unique dialogue with each other in battle.
@@Nosretep, hopefully Nintendo will fix that in BotW 2.
Enemy: Is not vulnerable.
Teba: Smashes though them with ease anyway while singing "Pain Train."
Cool vid 💅🏼💅🏼
nah putting mipha in c tier is a crime imo shes litterally one of the most OP characters in the entire game and im sure im not the only one who thinks this
Kinda hoping they make a sequel to this with TotK characters
If this was my list Terrako would have topped S Tier by far
Oh so *that’s* why Teba couldn’t be the sage of wind. He was too powerful it wouldn’t be fair 😂
The reason Tulin comes along in Tears of the Kingdom instead of Teba is because Teba would probably have broken that game too.
Teba in warriors solos botw and totk
Link would probably be an A or even S tier for me. The tradeoff of losing health with attacks doesn't really matter all that much because most strong attacks grant super armor, and the damage taken during said super armor is counted as temporary health loss. It does a good job with crowd control, and it's really easy to get stronger enemies in a never ending loop of exposing weak point gauges, especially when paired with stasis and special attacks to recover health
Are you going to play the fire emblem three hopes demo? I’m interested on your opinion
This
From what we’ve seen of just 4 Chapters, this already seems like one of the most unique Warriors games ever.
@@guydee3821 ikr!!! Its interesting how they handled the class system with the personal abilties
I legit loved how Impa played with how fast she was and how much damage you can rack up. She broke the game for me
I favor beefy brawler/tank archetypes and fell in love with Yunobo's moveset the moment I unlocked him (after much frustration trying to main Daruk) and my boy never disappoints.
“One handed link’s ability can’t be exploited.” Bullet time from backflips: Allow me to introduce myself
I love how the way to start off the best of the best S tier is a freakin gaurdian, it tells you something about this game.
My only problem with Teba is the carpal tunnel
Was literally just jamming out to this games top tier soundtrack half the time. Great vid!
if you can time it right you can do with Link a backflip and while he is in the air shoot his arrows in slowmotion and reveal weakpoints.
Since the moment I unlocked Teba I knew he was destined to be my main
There are only two S ranks in this game:
Sword Link: If you know how to play basic sword link with a max upgraded sword or even a super upgraded sword, you're unkillable and will shred enemies in seconds.
