Right?! I just love her hair pattern so much. Mine is the most uneven I've ever come across. It's changed recently and one side is 3a curls and the other side and the back are both 2a waves. It looks absolutely ridiculous 😭
Girl, same!!! Most my family and friends have that typical straight Asian hair. Growing up I always thought it was normal to just brush my hair out even when it was dry. That’s just how everyone else did their hair. I would just have a huge fluff and frizz that I hated. I opted mostly for a bun or a long braid because it looked more tame or manageable. I went as far as straightening my hair almost everyday for almost 10 years, as well. I noticed my hair was thinning, not to mention, severely heat damaged. That’s when I looked into wearing my hair natural again and found all this info on how to take care of my textured hair. Now I love my curls/waves and hardly straighten my hair. I think my hair looks so much better and lively now.
What exactly does Asian hair mean? I mean in western Asia there are a lot of peoples with gorgeous curly hair. Especially in countries like Iran, Iraq, and so on, but also my Indian friend, who started to grow out his hair when all the hairdressers closed here in 2020, turned out to have really pretty curls at the ends of his hair. So who exactly is meant with "Asian"? Only East Asians? Or also South East Asians? I feel like using "Asian" to only refer to a part of Asians is a bit exclusionary or at least geographically inaccurate.
@@aishanim1918 Thank you for the confirmation for my comment😅 I'm European, not from Asia, so I didn't want to speak on behalf of Asians, but on the other hand, what she wrote didn't seem right, and I wanted to say something to that. Also, I'm sorry that you're surrounded by so much ignorance :/ As a European, I can tell you that Americans often try to erase our identities and cultures as well, in our case just because we're "white", just like white Americans, and it's super annoying, but I suppose that it's not as bad as constantly being told that your nationality doesn't exist😬
I’ve always loved how your hair looks on your insta and I finally started to copy your routine (I noticed we have the same hair type, and I always thought I had just frizzy and puffy hair) and the results are GORGEOUS!!!! THANK YOU!!
I never knew you didn't have to reapply 😭😭 I've had wavy hair ever since I was young but my mom never knew how to take care of it so she treated it like straight...but now I'm 15 and I'm desperate to make it look good and not damaged looking😭😭
Thank you so much! As a teen with wavy hair I’ve absolutely died trying to keep my wavy hair in an orderly fashion. Now I don’t have to pull out the flat iron when I’m having a bad hair day.
Thank you so much!! I have been struggling with my day 2 and 3 hair. It's always a frizzy mess. I'm still trying to learn what my curls need. Somedays it's wavy others, I get more defined curls. Thanks for all your tip, I'll try this out!
I know this is late, but I use a silk hair bonnet that has an elastic headband bit… I sleep crazy too and that seems to stay put! I personally don’t like silky sheets and didn’t want an odd pillowcase so this option was better (and cheaper) for me 😊
I have more 3b-3c curly hair but your tips have been helping with my hair, beautiful ♡♡Also what I do at night, sometimes bonnets or buns hurt my head, silk scarfs dont stay on my hair so I took a big silk scarf and a square cushion pillow and tied it around the pillow and that's my silk pillowcase 😂
i have curly hair and i have been doing this method for a month and it's been a complete GAME CHANGER for me!! i really want to buy a water spray bottle since i have just been dunking my whole head in the sink 😭

Hello! Im new to everything and am FINALLY going to start my wavy hair journey. Like you, I ALWAYS straightened it. I hated and never let my hair down unless it was straighten because I was so embarrassed and hated how it looked. I had no idea how to take care of it and I am finally going to start to with your help! I watched your wavy hair tips video already. I was looking at your description for this video. Sorry if this is a dumb question. So, you only used a prewash? You didn't use an "actual" Shampoo? & did you use the two leave in hair conditioners mentioned in the description at the same time? I would love if you did a day 1 hair wash video & talked about the steps!
I was born with super curly hair, grew up with a wavy hair, and now with the similar situation as yours. I don't take care of my hair. it takes years to grow. and now, I get major hairfalls, resulting my hair in thinning out as well. my curls basically don't take shape anymore; only slight curves at the end of my hair strands. thank you for this video! I'm gonna try it out in the morning 💞💖!
I hope you found a good satin pillowcase by now, I got one from dollar tree and it does the job. Just in case someone out there doesn't have a lot of money ❤
Anyone with textured hair I would strongly recommend not applying water everyday because when ur hair gets wet the hair cuticle swells and then de-swells when drying which is extremely damaging for the hair because its like if u were to constantly stretch something it would end up getting weaker and weaker so u want to be exposing ur hair to water as little as possible. I usually (for anyone wondering how to get back definition without water) gently separate the hair to finger detangle and get out any hair that would've shed out then I apply a light layer of oil smoothing, scrunching then smoothing then do the same with aloe vera gel then the same with more gel then I use a small amount of aloe vera gel to smooth over the frizz on the roots. U may not get back AS much definition as with water but u get some back and its a LOT less damaging.
I'm almost 18 years old and I'm just now finding out how to take care of my hair ,due to no one teaching me. Btw this video was very helpful . I have wavy hair also. Thanks for the vid
@@Hangtw yessss it dried amazing !! Thank u so much for showing the curl technique I can't believe I've never seen it doing this tomorrow and getting that product !! Is that your fav/go to product for curls my hair is sooo dry/damaged
At the moment it is! But when my hair was super dry and damaged, especially at the beginning when I started my journey, I had to use several more products! (One leave-in wasn’t enough to moisturize). If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend watching “wavy tips I wish I knew sooner” it has a list of products I use in the description and I share what I use/ how I use it! You can try this one first and if it’s not moisturizing enough, try adding pre-wash like olaplex no 3 and another leave-in like olaplex no 6
I finally found someone with the same hair pattern as me! I noticed you had layers in your hair and it looks so nice, what kind of style did you ask your stylist for?
My hairdresser told me to try to avoid comb, only use comb with careful, and if you can get a wood comb it will be better. Right now i don't use too much the comb, im just using it before shower and a lil bit after shower, but then its all finger work.
i miss my wavy hair. my mom is always in control with my hair and she always wanted my hair to be reborned so now ny waves are gone. one day when i graduated im going to shave my head so my curls will grow again :)
Trust you should wear a Bonet to sleep that's literally all I do when I sleep and my hair Literally lasts all week I wash it Sunday and it lasts all the way to Friday and if I need a refresh all I do is put a oil and if your just lying around the house you can keep it on all day that's what I do and I literally have no split ends coz of this and if you do have any friz it usually calms it down.
Hmmm, try squeezing out the excess water (it might be weighing your hair down and that's why there's no volume up there) or use some clips to hold the pieces up while it's drying
