There are some curlies out there that believe this is faking curls. However, I don’t believe this. You can’t fake what’s not there. Any way you style your hair, you’re training it to do a certain thing. When you don’t know how to treat your hair, and you spend your life straightening it out, you’re training it to be straightened out. Then, when you find out what to do, you’re actually retraining it to do what it naturally does…Fine hair is also easily weighed down with product, and even can be weighed down by it’s own weight, if very long. This is why our hair needs so much coaxing. It’s not that we don’t have curly hair, it’s just so easily weighed down and manipulated, if that makes sense. Also, if you have wavy/curly hair, it will be terrifyingly frizzy if you don’t do this, or straighten it with heat, and a lot of the times will be super hard to straighten, lol! 😂 If you actually do have straight hair, no amount of scrunching or brushing will do a thing, lol. Anyway, hope this makes sense!! ❤️☺️

I just can't understand why it bothers them so much, I'm currently retraining my fine frizzy hair and like you said, if the pattern wasn't there no amount of scrunching on my part would make a difference

There’s definitely “curly hair gatekeepers”, lol. They get SO angry if someone takes care of their hair appropriately and their wave/curl pattern starts to take shape and look nice. I don’t get it, they should just be happy they found something to help their hair.
I remember once I explained how I got my wave/curl pattern to start coming through after years of abusing my hair as a teen and they got ANGRY and said I was just faking it and using pins, rollers, etc to achieve it. I’m too lazy to do all of that. 😂

Then I found out why my hair was frizzy and staryed watching some videos to help but it didnt help to much. And to add to the frizzyness my hair is extremely thin so most of the videos I was watching didnt work. Then I came across yours and I am sooooo happy like my hair has never looked this good in my whole life.

It’s nice to see another Asian girl with this hair type! I didn’t realise I had this hair type because my mum had traditional Asian pin straight hair. Whereas my dad is curly. I just always thought I got the inbetween which is why it was so poofy and I’ve been cutting my hair short for years now partially because of that reason, and also living in windy Scotland for University! I think my hair is still too short to really do the curly girl method but I’m going to try when it grows out 😊

You're the only person I've found with hair close to mine, so naturally thick, rough and coarse. Mine is just like yours except more tightly curled if you can imagine. I have so much trouble getting softeness and especially movement in my hair. The more I load it up with product the more the curls like to stick together and become stiff like dread locks once it's dry. I find I get the best results with weightlessness and movement immediately after clarifying and using a light leave in and that's it, any more will weigh it down. My hair does not like too much product, which is hard becuase it also needs tons of moisture. The struggle is real.

I was a bit skeptical at first because I usually don't trust hair products, rarely can they cater to thick and curly hair. But after watching this video I tried some of your techniques in your routine (because I have thick and wavy hair, not curly), and I appreciate the reasoning behind your chosen products so that I can tweak it on my own. Just tried this today and let me say, IT WORKS 😭😭😭😭😭 I couldn't believe it

I have the same hair type as you, I used to have ringlets when I was a kid but I got so insecure with my curly hair I straightened it all the time, I finally came to a realisation that I love my natural curls and I’ve been on a hair journey for a few years , trying out different products and still haven’t found what’s best for my hair, my hair gets really frizzy but it’s more under control throughout the years since I’ve been using products, I have some products in this video already but I need to learn how to use them and still need to explore what works best with my hair type:)

Great tips and products. I have 2a/2b hair and use ginger shampoo and conditioner to help with my dry scalp/dandruff. I also shampoo twice like a hair stylist recommended I do, use a leave-in conditioner and a silk curling rod so I never use a dryer or straightener anymore. My hair has some blonde balayage too, so I have to avoid drying it. I'll have to take cooler showers but love hot showers 😭

I just watched your first video on wavy hair routine and this. I was about to comment that your frizzy hair is almost zero on the top layer. I too have frizzy on the top layer of my hair and was worried about it and thought the hair care routine isn't working.
I got to know that I should keep trying it.

Interesting routine! I usually did the denman brush step after putting on the curl cream and it never worked well - I can see the advantage of doing it after the leave in instead, as the hair would be less saturated with product at that point (my problem was that it was too smooth and kept sliding off the brush too quickly). I’ll have to try this routine!

Hairstylist here… if you will curl with the den man brush towards the face instead of away it will be curlier. Everyone’s curl pattern spirals towards the face on each side of the head. When you go against the curls natural pattern the curl will be lose.

A nice cream to put in your wet hair is Keep My Curl. When I use it curls form instantly and my hair feels soft and smooth. It’s in a white tube with blue letters and usually cost $23💜

Hi! I have the exact same leave in conditioner, and i wanted to share smth w u. So i stead of coming out of the shower and putting it in, straight after washing out ur conditioner put in the leave in. Then u can get out, put a towel etc etc bc it soaks up more moisture that way, and now my hair looks sooo moisturized that i can even put my hair in a towel without it giving frizz!!

I have seborrheic dermatitis also sometimes misdiagnosed as dandruff and i use nizoral with 2% ketoconazol. My dermatitis causes me to lose lots of hair and also have painful inflammation bumps on my scalp + flaky scaley bumps throughout my scalp and crazy itchy greasy hair.
I use this shampoo twice a week, usually Monday and Friday and then on the other days Wednesday or when I’ve been sweating a lot, i would use a hask curl care shampoo and conditioner as this product doesn’t weigh my thin curly hair down. Other treatments other than nizoral is that I’ll use olaplex no.3 to strengthen my hair and prevent breakage and if I decide to use heat styling i would use chi keratin spray or other wise with air drying I’d use curlsmith weightless air dry cream and 2chic Ultra-Volume Foam Styling Mousse.

istg I've the same problem as you with seborrheic dermatitis and at present I've scaley bumps too, i use nizrol too but I didn't work much i did during the first month but later it's the same didn't put up much affect so how it going on for you?

    • @sylphienne
      @sylphienne 3 місяці тому +1

@@tan5376 Honestly it’s like I’ve built up a tolerance to it as I’ve been using it for 3-4 months and now it doesn’t even work for me. So I’m kinda trying other scalp treatments where it doesn’t require me to go back to the dermatologist because it’s heckin expensive. I found that Sulfur ointment with salicylic acid works but it leaves a funny eggy smell in my scalp and hair and it’s super drying. I’ve recently bought Dercos Anti-Dandruff K Deep Purifying Shampoo, I’ve seen the reviews and so far looks good and the antifungal ingredient piroctone olamine seems safe for usage as other dercos and anti-dandruff shampoos use selenium sulfide that is a pretty bad carcinogen. Another that i bought is Klorane Galangal shampoo which also has good reviews and it’s more like ‘natural’ shampoo with some organic ingredients, alongside my curly hair conditioners. I’ve been using Klorane with nettle shampoo for ultra purifying with greasy hair and my scalp has gotten less greasy. My hair after a normal wash could last max 1 day without getting super greasy and irritated and using it has extended by 2 days. So every 3 days I’ve been washing my hair but it doesn’t help with flaky and scaling. So i’ll give those two shampoos a try and update in a few months. 😁
I’ve honestly been wanting to make my own natural/organic shampoo using anti-fungal, anti inflammatory and antibacterial ingredients like rosemary, clove, Aloe Vera, Calendula, tea-tree, nettle, etc. As it’s gotten to the point of i might as well use my money in making my own shampoo rather than buying and trying $20-$40 shampoos and hoping it works for me.

A great shampoo for dandruff is DHS with salicylic acid. Leave on the scalp only for 3-5 minutes. Then use a silicone scalp massager, and gently message your scalp to loosen all the scalp build up. Rinse it out and go in with your regular shampoo for your entire hair. Its an anti-DHT so it helps with shedding.
