Guys I just did my X5 F15 35i N55. Wow was the filter in it ever dirty as hell. So glad I replaced it with a new C28125 filter. And did the job myself to boot. Thanks for this great video. I did find however, it was not necessary to remove the snorkel entirely on both ends. I just removed the front intake section closest to the bumper not from the air box. Everything came out just fine, cover lifted up and out came the dirty filter and in went the new filter. But before I did that I vacuumed out the inside of the air box.
Hi Meron, we would highly suggest taking a look at your engine bay for any potential leaks that may be burning up once the vehicle's engine gets up to temperature. In addition to that you want to make sure the housing for your cabin air filters are clean and free of any debris.
You are not breathing from the engine bay the air comes from outside. Almost all vehicles now have the cabin filters located here which is much easier to replace than standing on your head inside the car
Most HVAC systems intake air from the engine bay. For what it's worth many of these cars have an ozone sensor that shuts off air intake from the engine bay and recirculates cabin air.
Swapped the cabin and engine filters in 45 mins. $90 for parts. Mechanic wanted $600 to replace both. Do it yourself fellas!
Great videos thanks!
I'd also like to see your video on changing the cabin recirculating air filter. Has it been posted?
Where is the video for the cabin recirculating filter?

Thank you for another great video. Does the onboard computer have a date/mileage timer that needs to be reset?
Thank you! Not necessarily for the cabin air filter, that is more intended for the bigger service items like fluids and brakes.
