I have a lot of respect for Miles Teller. He can go from playing that sort of awkward, witty character to this tough, intense, cocky character and that's just really amazing
It always makes chuckle when people blame the trailer for spoiling the movie when it's based on a true story. Just google Vinnie Paz, you'll know the whole story.
***** There you go: "Shortly after winning the junior middleweight world title, Pazienza was forced to relinquish the title due to a serious car accident in which his neck was broken. Doctors informed him he might never walk again and would certainly never fight again. Pazienza had to wear a medical device called a Halo, a circular metal brace screwed into the skull in four spots and propped up with four metal rods. Pazienza had the Halo screwed to his skull for 3 months, during which time he maintained a workout regime--disobeying the doctors' orders. Pazienza returned to the ring thirteen months after the accident and beat future WBC World Jr. Middleweight Champion Luis Santana via a 10-round decision.
There's different expectations between watching a trailer and actually researching the story online. Trailer's aren't supposed to reveal the plot, they should tease us and get people hyped for the movie. Reading about Vinny Paz is obviously going to tell us the whole story.
Matt Damon J.K. Simmons didn't win 'instead'. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. And if Miles Teller was to be nominated, he would've been nominated in the Best Actor category. Both of them could've won but Miles wasn't even nominated. :/
i'm so proud of him, through thick and thin, I've supported Miles. He's a great, talented, versatile actor who needs good material to shine through and make it even better. I am looking forward to this film, with all of my heart. Hope he gets his well deserved nom for this
@UCGB08TzOq7tssDvczWI5WPA Any high school wrestler would lay you out in less than a minute chump. Just because they can't do any striking in a wrestling match doesn't mean they can't strike in an actual fight. That combined with their infinitely better ground game and training than most people, plus being in better shape than 95% of the population, makes it easy to see why wrestlers almost always win fights vs non wrestlers. Non wrestlers can talk all the crap they want about wrestling. But know this, as soon as the fight starts you are going to be doing all of your talking from your back while getting straight up decimated. Your only move will be blocking punches with your face until the wrestler has pity on you and decides that he has embarrassed your pathetic limp body enough hahaha.
I agree, and that is in part due to the trailer right? I'm sure people know about most "famous" people's biography, but they don't know how the movie will show it you know? Trailer's aren't meant to show the beginning, middle, and end of a movie. Trailers should show the general intro, and emotional clips to suck the audience in. That's why most biographical films don't do well, i.e. Southpaw, because of the content in the trailer. I am not disagreeing with you, simply expanding on it.
It's based on a true story so for some I guess it wasn't spoiled but I see where you are coming from because i haven't heard about any boxer that went through that
Exactly, I am one of those that don't follow these types of stories and such you know? So, even if it happened in real life, the trailer shouldn't relieve it because there are still those that don't know who this guy is.
Miles Teller is my favorite actor and I'm so proud for him. His role for "Spectacular Now" and "Whiplash" is phenomenal. Especially "Whiplash" (still disappointed it didn't win Best Pitcure). He's going to be in 4 "Based on a True Story" movies. "War Dogs" and this movie. His upcoming movies will be "Thank You For Your Service", and "Granite Mountain".
This is an outstanding movie. Go pay to see it in the theater. The two best films I've seen so far in 2016: 'The Birth of a Nation' and 'Bleed for This.'
The tip to watching trailers, is stop watching once you've decided to see the movie. Never trust a trailer. It doesn't matter if you're five seconds in, if you are going to watch the movie do not finish watching the trailer.
Miles Teller shows a depth beyond his years in his portrayal of the Pazmanian Devil. Excellent movie, I've watched it on boxxy software. Highly recommend.
Glad I read the comments before I watched the trailer lmao. Myles Teller’s performance was honestly hilarious idk if that’s what he intended but I found this movie lowkey hilarious.
wutup5566 I said I understand. That's the obvious part. I understand more than *you* think I do. You just made an assumption, and it's making you seem not only rude, but dumb.
There are some roles that Miles Teller gets down perfectly, then there are some movies where it feels like he doesn't really belong in. THIS movie is gonna be great. I'm getting ready to watch it right now and I'm pretty excited for it.
I've seen "Bleed for This" and it was amazing. It's a very inspirational film about a legendary boxer who tried so hard to be a heavy weight champion until he got crashed and he broke his neck. So all he has to do is to give up or come back? Then, he takes his chance and he literally comes back to be back in shape so he can go boxing again. The acting is fantastic. Miles Teller did a fantastic as Vinny and Aaron Eckhart is very supportive as the trainer so that makes a good team up. Overall, another best film of 2016 and I'm pretty sure it's not that bigger audience to enjoy it, but very undertrained boxing film. [100] 👍👍 ⭐️
Reminds me of the legendary Minotauro Nogueira. At age 10, he was accidentally run over by a truck and fell into a four-day coma, losing a rib and part of his liver, and was hospitalized for eleven months. As a result of the accident, he has a large scar, including a noticeable indentation, on his lower back.
Saw this movie before and need to again. Just broke my elbow the other day by jogging and don’t want to sit for months getting fat. This gave me motivation
They don't. They've never been popular or relevant enough. Right now, Michael B. Jordan has probably been the most successful out of the four so far, and I'd say Miles Teller is in second place.
miles teller is slowly becoming a great actor. First Whiplast then War Dogs and now this....... Cant wait to see what he does next! Fantastic Four bombed but all great actors have a few shitty movies. I just saw a trailer for Denzel staring in a old western called Magnificent Seven lol... are they kidding? Black and old western don't mix- I don't care if you are my favorite actor!
Miles Teller is such a good actor
have you watched whiplash? it's great
his is definitely on a rise
Have you seen fantastic four?
+Euan James so? Is Jesse Eisenberg a bad actor just because he's played in a badly rated movie? Or Will Smith?
Euan James+ Can't blame him for that he probably wanted to die from acting in that SHIT
After seeing Whiplash, I think Miles Teller is gonna nail this role
Exactly
He's pushing for an Oscar or something. He looks great.
maybe, or maybe hes actor who just wants to act in movies whether he gets an oscar or not?
RinzleR One Did you know that they were going to nominate Miles Teller for an Oscar in Whiplash? But they wanted to push J.K Simmons instead.
Damian Wayne™ = My Bitch
i stand corrected, he gets better every movie since i first seen him in 21 and over imo
Feel like Miles Teller is underrated. He's got to be one of the best young actors, captures characters really well
how do u feel about topgun now? ;)

What's up with Miles Teller and car crashes? Brilliant actor. Hope he does great in this. He deserves it all.
Could win a Oscar for this if he gives a great performance
He actually had a real near death car crash when he was in college. That's why he has a permanent scar on his neck.
this is like his third that i know of? haha 1 in the spectacular now, 1 in whiplash now this :P
Opera Falcon Didn't know that. Amazing.
+Berke Zane How is that amazing?
Miles Teller and Michael B Jordan are two of the most promising up and coming A list actors today
except not in Fantastic 4
DanoTheMano18 true, but most A list actors have at least 1 bad movie
your comment makes the future of acting feel dead if these are A list.
but still not the right cast for Johnny Storm or Reed Richards for Fantastic Four 4
yet they both starred and that piece of garbage "film" fant4stic
This moment when you stop the trailer after the half cause you just decided to watch the movie some day.
Any boxing fan already knows the story.
+Dan Lepine everyone who watched the trailer knows the story
Billions of people knew the titanic is gonna sink and still everybody watched.
+Brock McClain no one watched titanic for its historical accuracy and depiction of events...
Dan Lepine So is this movie.
Did I just watch the whole film?
yes..we all did
they left out the part at the end where he is in a coma and all of this is a dream
and yes. Now you have watched the whole movie
It's based on a true story the film has already been told ffs
as usual....yeah
that was a good movie rate 8/10, c0uld of got 9 but was only 2 minutes long
Well it’s only the trailer so it really shouldn’t be that long ( no hate)

It filmed last year. It was originally going to be Martin Scorsese directing, but Ben Younger (Boiler Room) got the job.
