Great quote
He was a lot more soft spoken ever since, I'd guess
Day 1 after losing his Jaw…
Revan - Hey Malek, You Hungry… lol
As someone who only broke their jaw, all I can say is, he got very lucky he didn't lose his whole head. I was fortunate enough to only he wired up for about 8 weeks (never healed straight though), but I was subjected to liquified food (not a feeding tube or IV). So I can't imagine someone needing to be more or less on constant mechanical support for food for the remainder of their life.
Revan did it on purpose to punish Malek the fight scene was brutal
You just want pity.
@@looksirdroids9134 my lady parts are moist

I doubt would ANYONE be the same if they lost their F’n jaw! Like, how can you lose your jaw and then not be painful!?!
Plenty of spice available for these situations

I love Malak. I feel his character and lore have suffered in the shadow of Revan. We should discuss Malak more often.
disney does not care about us true fans neither does kathleen kennedy shes the reason why star wars is suffering right now shes to blame for the sequel trilogy failing shes evil and greedy she needs to get fired and replaced and we need the sequel trilogy to be rebooted

@@darthbane5357 greedy in that she sacrifices using the characters and stories that already exist as source material, to make Rey Skywalkers and disney up Star Wars for box office numbers. Greedy in that she wants to inject her own beliefs and politics into all star wars material. And she gets directors and writers that do the same. Disney's sequel trilogy uses zero archetypal structuring for it's stories. Now it's pandering to today's political extremes instead of existing as stories outside of time, politics, and culture in it's own universe. Sure the Og trilogy got some of its inspirations from Imperial Japan, Nazi Germany, and even the vietnam war. But it spoke universal things about human nature. It used archetypal characters for it's stories. It didn't ignore the monomyth. Or myths and legends. It took from things and looked at what is universally true about humans from the things it borrowed from for it's human characters. Many of star wars characters arent even human. That's what made star wars star wars. It didn't inject today's unique issues and beat the audience over the head with politics.
That was part of his character. He was great but he was never quite as good as Revan. He even admitted it himself after he was defeated.

One of the most Rated R injuries ever in Star Wars

I would most definitely like to see both Malak and Revan in live action especially since Revan is my all time favorite Sith Lord as well as the story about these two.😊👍
Revan was actually a jedi that fell to the dark side then was redeemed and became a jedi once more
@@ryanpurkey516 didn’t he also turn into a sith for a second time? I could be remembering wrong

I would love for the old republic to get more attention and movies. So much happened in the old stuff it also gives more freedom to do what you want with it. And having multiple Sith and Jedi fight is so much cooler.
It would really have to be done with care otherwise we will all regret asking for it. plus they would water it down and make it more child friendly which would ruin the feeling of this era.
@@chalk1415 With movies like Deadpool and TV shows like The Punisher proving people want more Rated R stuff I really don't get why they keep doing this PG 13 bullshit.
Freedom isn’t something you want Disney to have with star wars
@@guyknightley3499 because Disney is a children’s franchise
Disney already did their Nazi book burning. Rip the Sith of old. Only Bane survived thanks to the clone Wars. Its like poetry, it rhymes XD
Another sith lord, Plagueis, lost his jaw during an assassination attempt to kill prominent secret society members of the banking clan. His jaw was chopped off with something similar to a boomerang blade. Sidious found him half dead and he did survive, until Sidious killed him in his sleep. I think that was a cowardly move to not fight him in a fair fight, like when Bane was defeated by Zannah
.... A fair fight? For the sith?
Bruh plagueis were weak af after that attempt even a jedi padawan kick his ass if that person was lucky
If bane had his armor he would not have lost
I'm surprised that in a universe such advanced medicine cannot replace a jaw by an artificially grown one. They can make millions of clones easily, but can't clone a jaw? It's pretty realistic scenario even IRL in a few years. I understand that Vader pretty much needs a new body, but replacing a jaw should be a trivial matter for interstellar civilization.
….. No it’s not. The Clone army happens thousands of years after Malek???
Also good to know your close to being able to give us regrown jaws within the next few years, good work
@@andrewmaderer1989 they already had super advanced technology many millennia before him anyway. You think they have FTL but not the ability to replace body parts? Lol
Star Wars creator is a jo0. That tells me everything I need to know.
I think the real issue is reattaching the jaw. You have to remember that lightsabers instantly cauterize wounds, meaning that a small injury, no matter how trivial it would be in our world to fix, would be a bitch and a half to work with. Prosthetic limbs and appendages would be 10x more effective because no matter how quick you are to try and reattach the hand, a hand isn't going to reattach to a cauterized wrist or arm without even more painful surgery. In addition, as a practitioner of the Dark Side, Vader summed it up the best; it is best you learn loss against a foe that will not kill you because when you are fighting a true opponent, they will not hesitate to strike you down. That lesson of loss and pain taught early and correctly is why the Inquisitors were so good within lore. They learnt to never let their guard down or else they might lose more than a hand.
I’d love to see some live action/animated series about the ancient Sith Lords, including these two. It would be interesting.
Always great character analysis, after KOTOR 1&2 I was left wanting more
There was something about Sith Lords and losing mouths. Plagueis, Malgus, and Malak among others.
For them, maybe a fetish to clearly avoid...
When did Plagueis lose his? Lol
@@fearless3073, at the end of Part II of the Darth Plagueis novel. A group of assassins attacked Hego Damask. He killed them but lost his mouth. Sidious took advantage of the breathing apparatus in the end.

I injured my knee and can relate to Vader. As someone whos skinny I only had agility. Loosing that is INCREDIBLY frustrating, and as a smoker living in flats I was walking like the fucking terminator if he was made of plastic. Injury is an incredibly underestimated hindrance
Joint injuries are brutal, you don't understand the full scope of the damage and how life altering it is until after you've healed. I tore my medial meniscus in 3 places in a bike accident, and after 11 months in an air cast amd years of physio, I still walk with a pronounced limp and limp created problems in my hip. It just snowballs until you have early onset osteoarthritis and you need stem cells and a hip replacement

The little action figure of Malak I have has a removable jaw. It's quite jarring with it off.
It's jaw dropping!
Leaves you speechless?
The Revan/Darth Revan saga & the Darth Bane saga are the most important stories tho I doubt Darth Bane has enough for a trilogy while Revan does to succeed on the big screen. I think besides Darth Vader they are the most interesting & important stories to be told, Darth Malgus is also an interesting story .
Banes already got more books than Revan. Bane could totally have a trilogy
@@jamesfaust7434 books yes. But a lot wouldn't work in a screen play for Bane like most of Banes 1st book is him dealing with life, in a book interesting details but movie no, it must start when he's already a Sith student rising up the ranks now that's movie gold. Tho why must it be a trilogy, a 2 part movie would work. Also the possibly the darkest Star Wars that can be made would be starring the Sith trio of Traya/Nihlus/Sirian (sorry I butchered the spelling of their names) but it starts with them forming n ends with them killing eachother & all 3 very different powers but all have much pain perhaps more than Vader. Finally the Malgus trilogy, which would be after Revan but still same Emperor Visiot & the rise of Setel Shan as Grand Master Jedi
I would love the story of the old Sith Lords brought to life by Disney but I don’t put much faith in them.
One time Darth Bane had been poisoned by a fellow sith and on his way to a healer his speeder crashed due to him losing feeling in his arms as the poison coursed through him.
To counter act this or at least abate the poison he had to kill a scavenging father and his two sons.
The sons were cut down whilst the father watched in anguish, the anguish and madness coursing through the father gave the boost Darth Bane needed to make it the rest of the way but not before killing the father also.
after the disaster that was the sequel trilogy i lost all hope for star wars due to evil dark lord that is kathleen kennedy she lied to me and all my friends she let me down rian johnson let me down j j abrams let me down bob iger let me down disney the company i loved growing up let me down as of right now disney is struggling with both star wars and marvel and its not pretty its their faults that they dont know how to please us fans these days im a fan of both marvel dc and star wars but right now disney let me down they will never make star wars they only made a few things i love and thats it to me the star wars sequels are trashfire they need to be rebooted and kathleen kennedy needs to get fired and replaced

Yes, I would like to see the stories of Revan and Malak portrayed on film. Not sure if I'd want to see it animated or live-action, though.
I would love to see them too, but more so I want to see Exar Kun, and, Ulic Qel Droma, as well Nomi Sunrider, become canon!

Great content as always! I knew Revan cut Maleks jaw off, just like to digest as much information as possible :D
Ooohhh this would be amazing in live action for sure
This is such a great story and lore behind it that Disney won’t do it.
Please do more on old republic vids!!!
they need to make this
a multi seaseon series
I have to admit of all the injuries seen or heard of in star wars this is the most brutal.
Knight of the old Republic is still to this day the best star wars games I ever played.
Every time i watch one of your video's it makes me wish they would come out with a MMORPG Star Wars game that's as beautiful as Battlefront II and detailed story like Old Republic considering that was the first MMO that was fully voice acted to my knowledge. How ever Star Wars Galaxies did have an interesting method to "Jobs" or "Skills" where you could be a musician, dancer, or what ever was pretty amazing as well... i just feel that if they did it right there could be an Amazing Starwars MMO.
Cool video
That whole story would be amazing in live action
Someone made a really nice version of the Revan /Malak duel. It was cold blooded!!🤣😳
Generally speaking, i think most people would never be the same if they lost their entire jaw and had it replaced by robotic parts.
There already is a cinematic video of their duel ua-cam.com/video/OagQ818xZXo/v-deo.html
Man I wish they would start an old republic line of figures in the vintage collection or a different line all together! All those Sith Lords and old republic Jedi like light side revan, Jolie, satel Shan, mitra Serick, and the couple from the old republic short film, satels Jedi master, he was a zabrack can’t remember his name of the head and the human Jedi in the same trailer! So many awesome characters!
This will never happen in Disney PG star wars since they made the lightsabers none lethal eu was dark gritty mature serious badass and brutal af
Thank you I agree wholeheartedly and it’s sad we will never see the best of the eu or legends or whatever Disney wants to ignore.
A set of movies or a show with them going into there story and stuff would be so awesome I think I can o ly imagine how epic there fights would be not i ly against the mandolorians but the jedi and them selfs
You should do a video force sensitive twins
Wow. I had no idea Darth Malak had the mouth piece as a replacement for his jawline. You learn something new everyday.
Good topic. Next should be how Malgus got his respirator. I don't remember it being explained in his book
Go watch the old republic cinematic trailers
Revan and Malak turned to the darkside after encountering the emperor vititate in the unknown regions. After breaking vitiates hold on him, Revan went back to kill the emperor. He almost did, but one of his allies, a sith lord, betrayed him and stabbed him in the back
It was revan, meetra surik(the third one to volunteer in the madolorian war) and lord scourge. Meetra could have killed the emperor but threw her blade to block the strike from ending revan by the emperor. Lord scourge then had a vision due to him meditating like a jedi before this mission. He saw that it wouldnt be revan or meetra to kill the emperor but someone else he was supposed to ally with so he struck meetra down while the emperor used lightening on revan.
@@nickchappa1827 I loved it when Revan finally found out what the sith lords name was and he was like, "Scourge?....really?🤣" like was that really the scariest name you can think of? My favorite part was when Meetra and Scourge were about to get fried by the sith ladys lightning and Revan Reborn came out of his prison cell WITH HIS MANDO HELMET on and caught her lightning in his hands and told sith lady, BITCH IM REVAN REBORN and redirects her lightning back at her and completely turned her into a lump of ash🤣 i can only think of a few people that can absorb lightning with little damage. A black sun nightsister threw lightning at Darth Maul and he wasnt affected by it. Thats when she knew h she was out of his league. Yoda was able to absorb Dooku and Sidious lightning, but for some reason didnt redirect back to either sith lord like Revan did. Seems like Revan had a better mastery of lightning than Yoda since he mastered both the light and the dark.
@@ryandenina7735 honestly there is no other character like revan.
@@nickchappa1827 the closest I can think of is Darth Krayt. Hett was a knight that left the order after order 66 and was later trained by vergere for a couple of hundred of years as a sith lord and fought lukes great great grandson. Revan was a jedi master that had less formal darkside training, but both were powerhouses. Also Galen Marek was a sith assassin that touched the lightside before his death. He took out Vader and Sidious back to back in force unleashed and he brought down a star destroyer with the force
@@ryandenina7735 i know darth krayt but he never had obtained true balance in the force unlike the two legends revan the first then luke the saviour( until the great disney changed all the good shit)
I do sympathize with hett because he meditated in that sith tomb to help his order his comrades years have past and the empire was in charge so he felt robbed by time and reacted too quickly to end up a test subject in a horribke experiment by the spieces that destroyed the decepticons and autobots in their own galaxy
What's the music at the end showing product and stuff ?
Should do a what if Revan sensed Malak's betrayal before it happened
5:22 is magneto lol
Yes
I seem to remember KOTOR the game differently. I always inferred that HK-47 instigated the duel between the two. I also remember that Revan kept him alive with the prosthetic jaw and vocalizer (Malak sustained himself thru the Force and using Force Drain), and that the only reason Revan actually lost his memory was because Malak fired on his flagship while he was being accosted by Bastila Shan and a party of Jedi. Malak attacking the bridge all but killed Revan, the sole reason he was saved was due to Bastila basically holding his force presence together in his body until the Jedi could heal him, with them rebuilding his mind and memories from another dead Republic warrior. It's why you wake up not knowing who you really are in the game, leading to Malak telling you who you really are / were in the battle aboard his flagship before Bastila holds him off for you to escape.
The game never mentioned the backstory of Malak's jaw or his duel with Revan.
@@leventebardossy5962 HK-47 has a line of dialogue about a conversation with Malak that I was assumed led directly to said severed Jaw and him being merely a "meatbag".
Revan is the single greatest story of any video game character.
Yes I would love to see Revan aka Darth Revan in live action.
Rewan is one of the best characters. I wish they would make TV series about the mandalorian wars set in this time.
I want a Darth Malak smile emoji!!!!
Anyone know what the music in the background is called?
Name of the music used in this video?
Isn't canon in Legends that Revan and Malek set off for the Unknown Regions to investigate the Sith Influence on the Mandalorian Wars, rather than to hunt down survivors?
Whilst exploring the Unknown Regions they encountered the Sith Empire and were turned by the Emperor.
Short question, im the german dub of kotor, im the vision of Revan and Malak searching for the star map ol dantooine, Malak has the same mechanical voice he always has, even though still having his jaw. Is that in other versions too?
Fan fic idea: Vader and Palpatine travel back in time to duel Malak and Revan respectively.
Sith lords always sustain heavy injuries and then later having to rely on cybernetics. That's somewhat of a trend in star wars
Dart sidious/emperor palpatine didn’t have cybernetics (neither did plageus, but not sure)
@@samsavage3426 plageus had something similar to what Malek had but I'm not sure what purpose the cybernetic had
@@darkangel2752 I wasn’t sure since I hadn’t read the novels dealing with him
I feel like not putting the reason Revan lost his memory and went "into hiding" was a disservice to Malak
Malak reminds me of Baron Werner Ünderbheit from Venture Brothers.
I’d like to see Ryan Coogler direct the film about Revan & Malik
They took his jaw!
Malak: AKA Baron Von Underbite
I would love for the KOTOR remake to become a reality one day.
I always wanted a game like KOTAR to be made that takes place before KOTAR 1 and 2 involving Malak and Revan.
One does not challenge Revan and not regret it
Honestly I wish someone would do ancient civil war times in the Star Wars series.
Id love to see this in live action
I did not know that's why Malak wore his mask, oh wow
But how does he eat and drink??
He eats and drinks the Force, like the later Lord of Hunger.
Suddenly Vader’s injuries seem tame by comparison when you go into EU stuff.
I think it’s pretty funny all the different contraptions the sith are trapped within.
There’s no way I trust Disney to tell a Darth Revan and/or Darth Malak story.
I love how you break the youtube norm where if someone daily upload the quality drops but you post top tier content everyday
The first time I fought malak in old republic. I just hit and run with lightsaber throw. Lol old republic was my very first rpg.
A old republic figure line would be hugely popular! We have a revan and a malak from the 30th anniversary line, the revan is great but the malak is a very outdated figure!
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth malak the jawless?
I can write why in 1 sentence: we needed the classic darth vader for each and every iteration, this happens to be this one's iteration of darth vader. we must have a cybernetically injured villain. it is the method. it is, the soup of the day.
He was never the same, he could no longer chew
I wanna see movie
I really like this video, but the Rule of Two came about *after* Revan, from Darth Bane, in response to Revan's teachings.
It is about time these 2 got a live action saga or a anime like clone wars did
Jarael was never gonna give him that 🐈
Warriors lose their jaw more often than people think . They also lose other parts lower down to . Sadly war is heck
What Malek went through was brutal, but it still doesn’t compare to Vader. Malek lost a jaw while Vader lost all four limbs, suffered severe burns and couldn’t breathe without constantly being on life support.
Well at least it’s an improvement from his previous look
It was painful when he lost it
An animated movie would be great
ua-cam.com/video/OagQ818xZXo/v-deo.html. Enjoy!
I think Revan was lucky to win the duel with that limited field of vision of his... Sith Lords and their Masks, sigh
He bit a jawbreaker to hard
How is Darth Vitiate and how powerful was he?
Glossing over that Malak SURVIVED this.. unable to even LITERALLY bitch an complain about what happened one can just imagine how cruel and evil and mean he probably became.. having basically no longer a way to naturally speak or even swallow an eat..
This an others would be great origin stories to set up a whole Old Republic verse to connect to the modern Movies, comics and shows as we know them but I highly doubt Disney is the company to effectively do this. NOT without them being very heavily influenced and control being turned over to proven people like Lucas an anyone that both understands what they're doing an actually both knows an cares about doing it right
Ah, but easy to defeat: force dash to either side before striking. Also known as the Keaton batman weakness
Revan punched it off.
Power always comes with a price....
The rule of two didn't come about until Bane. Revenge spoke about it, but it did not come about until Darth Bane.
