Sooo, .. non Disney fanfiction, got you. ( keep with your stories.)
Well I grew up during the 1990's with WEG west end games d6 dice pool system and Dark Horse comics.
Then the Prequels came out along with WotC 3e D&D/Star Wars skill/feat ranks level advancement.
We, my gaming shop groups mixed game mechanic system to have better space fantasy magic ritual system.
Needless to say one's views regarding life and social history changes from late teens to mid twenties, then you reach your forties .. dam my thirties went by fast.
In short of a bunch of nonsense of canceling years of lore that supported the growth of Star Wars being thrown out by Disney, and listening to people 20years my junior with no life experience acting like they know/understand Star Wars better than me or the other elders in my life is lack of a better word .. funny. I made people cry and call the police on me when I was out shopping cause I rip into them what the Darkside is and what the Sith are. Sadly some of the police officers patrolling Walmart were veterans and told the young ( fill in blank ) to grow a spin and try boot camp.
Cause of PTSD and doing bad things and witnessing bad things happen can really shift one's emotional mental outlook in life. Just because a Jedi .. falls .. to the darkside Does NOT mean they join the Sith or other darkside cult. Just means they become more protective and ruthless in defending what they consider close to them.
Batman is how Bruce Wayne deals with his pain.
Robin/ Nightwing is how Dick Greyson moves beyond his pain.
2.) My gaming shop ran a Fall of the Republic campaign that dealt with PTSD, even had Jedi embrace the tents of the Sith being dark Jedi. Find your inner darkness and embrace it, give it a good hug, stay angry and do something positive with it. A Jedi lost too many Clone Troopers goes nuts murdering anything that threats their unit. ( I'm not losing any more of my kids.)
Anakin on the other hand, had Palpatine doing the kindly old grand uncle act dropping post hypnotic suggestions into Anakin head over a ten-year time span. Poor boy never had a chance. Other than what G.L. or any other writer stating power levels, just go with WEG or WotC gaming stats, Palpatine could have just held Anakin in a Force grip/choke/crush and make him witness the murder of the Jedi temple and held his wife hostage.
      Anakin never had a chance.
Hey what do I know, with me and my brother tried many times over our 40year life trying to make something of ourselves and getting nowhere with a lot of personal anger. Right now my brother final manage to skip town and restart his life for the past three months on a Pacific Island doing construction work.
b.) Sith history in Star Wars lore cover more than a few thousand years, finding old Sith cultist smuggling clans/tribes working in Hutt space is like coming out as Wicca or some other old pagan religion that still survive in one form or another after a thousand years. Even in the Bane novels it mentions Sith training marauders, assassins, space pilot raiders that got tried of the Brotherhood of Darkness fallen Jedi politic nonsense left and return to their family's roots.
( The Sith peoples haven't needed a .. Lord .. in a couple of thousand years. We stayed out of the Jedi business and they stayed out of our way of life.)

Honestly, if he hadn't fallen to The Dark Side, I could have seen Count Dooku becoming a Jedi Lord to defend Cireno since the Jedi Order had already proven their lack of willingness to do so.
I fully believe that it was superior to how The Jedi became right before Order 66 and Operation Nightfall. But it also would have left a large opening for Sith like Sidius and Plaugeus to take advantage of. So there is really no way of knowing how things would have ended. But it does expose the first cracks in The High Council's facade that The Sith would exploit over the next 1000 years to rot the order from the inside.

I think Jedi Lords are a good idea. a lot of them ruled systems, not just planets. 'Lord' is not like 'Master', where you can gain it through learning and peace with very little action. 'Lord' is given to a Jedi who has personally brought observable improvement to a part of the galaxy, and they only have it as long as they continue to bring good things to their homes. I think the issues with the wider order are the fault of the High Council, and the order certainly needed more Jedi who were willing to take the initiative, BRINGING peace and safety instead of glorified hoping for it.

i think there should be some jedi lords maybe a few hundred in diferent places they should have a consuil to and their leader should atleast have a seat in the hige consuil and if giving warning about the way the republic is going, corruption missused of powed etc their warning should be taken realy serious considering they would be able to give another view than the other members of the hige council. if something like that was a thing during the last couple 100 years the coruption etc that plauged the new republic might have been far less severe, and its potential that duku would not have fallen to the dark side either, he would most likely have been a jedi lord in the end beeing the count of serenous. and the sepratist crisis would potentialy not been to the extent it was either. also it might have very well been that the jedi had chosen to leave the republic or distance themself more from it if they was not able to do anything to change it because they would have a more indept picture of how thing acctualy was.

In the EU, Luke had the right idea of what the Jedi should be. His New Jedi Order, Jedi were the correct way of being Jedi. Not being centralized in Corusant and having many temples and allow Jedi to love and have wives and husbands. But still maintaining dicipline and protecting the light above all things. Luke's New Jedi Order tried to stay out of politics as much as possible, which was difficult considering.... His sister was the leader of the New Republic and also had the force lol. But he did a good job.
The weakness of the Jedi is that they sacrafice TOO MUCH, they will do ANYTHING for the republic. And that's what Sidious and the Grand Plan exploited. Luke did not make his Jedi like this. And they were still thrust into war against the Vong. But at that point.... So was EVERY Species in the galaxy.

I have been convinced since the Bane trilogy that his formation of the Rule of Two after his brilliant manipulation that led the Brotherhood of Darkness to destroy themselves was only one of two main catalysts for the destruction of the Republic and Jedi. The Rusan Reformation was, In my opinion, just as much of a blow to the order because it simultaneously stripped much of their influence from galactic politics while also giving that power to a group (the senate) which was not guided by the force and instead easily corrupted by selfish motives. It’s truly astonishing that they actually managed to go a thousand years before the grand plan destroyed the weak and flailing Jedi Order that had been serving and executing the orders from a mass of beings who were openly operating in opposition to the will of the Light Side.

So, much like the Governors of the Empire these Jedi Lords were more like the feudal lords of old Europe. However the Force was not a weapon or a tool to be used against its natural wishes. The Emperor used the Force and beat it to his will. His preferred Jedi would be one who acted the same way. Uncompromising. Unbending. Willful. It’s why the Force will, in time balance itself. Aka The Chosen One prophecy.

Sad thing is, The Star Wars Univers had more stability and almost NO real conflict under Palpatines rule. Other than routing out any that stood to overthrow him, Palpatine brought REAL Peace and Stability. The Jedi only put out the fires after they started but the Darkside prevented the fires before they even begun.

I actually think the Jedi Lords worked, not perfectly but certainly suitable for the roles they'd taken on as direct protectors and then rulers of individual planets and systems
One of the Jedi Order's biggest failures was their becoming too politically involved in the Republic Senate and not serving and protecting the citizens as they were supposed to, and allowing petty politics and interests cloud their judgement, as well as their ability to hear the Will of the Force
The Jedi Lords became directly involved with the people of various worlds and systems, serving and protecting them instead of kowtowing to the corrupt politics of the Senate
I agree that had the Grand Council and the High Council worked together instead of conflicted with each other the outcome of the Jedi Lords could have turned out better and perhaps laid the groundwork for a more stable peace and justice for the galaxy
I always felt the High Council itself was petty, even if they didn't think it, feel it, or deny it. They became so deeply entangled with politics and even jurisdiction that they became more and more like servants of a corrupt governing body, whose members only cared about themselves and their own interests
A perfect example is when Ahsoka was framed for bombing the Jedi Temple, and while the evidence and circumstances around her piled up and didn't look good for her, too much was either circumstantial or just didn't make sense. But rather than stand by and for their jedi sister the council selfishly expelled her and turned her over to the Republic Tribunal, where she came all too close to being sentenced to death for crimes she did not commit. Their "apologies" were disgusting and appalling, shifting responsibility onto the Force, and their offer, not only to reinstate her but also knight her, felt like a shameful bribe. I didn't blame Ahsoka in the slightest for walking and never coming back, becuz she was brave enough and wise enough to see that despite what Barriss had done to her that, to some degree, she was right about the Jedi Order
Let us not forget how Dooku became disillusioned with the Jedi Order and how a corrupt senator threatened the people he was supposed to represent when they abducted his son in order to get his attention. His behavior was disgusting and I was actually rooting for Dooku to kill him. It took the son pleading Dooku to spare his father and the realization of what he was about to do to stop, and despite the son promising to do better than his father for their people Dooku was skeptical
And of course the Outer Rim is left to its own devices becuz the majority of worlds and systems refuse to join the Republic, and so the Jedi do nothing to help the oppressed people out there, especially those enslaved by criminal syndicates, and the syndicates use their connections to exploit, manipulate, and hurt others, even in the Republic's sphere of influence
Even a single sufficiently-trained Jedi could do a world of good for communities oppressed and terrorized by criminals and corrupt leaders, and yet the Jedi only do what the Senate tells them
As heartbreaking as it was to see so many Jedi die, I am saddened to say, yoda was right. The Jedi Order had failed and it needed to be wiped away for a fresh start. A new hope... that was supposed to be embodied by Luke Skywalker, and while Luke succeeded in redeeming his father so Anakin could restore balance to the Force it didn't last.
Luke made the mistake of emulating his predecessors to much, making many of their same mistakes, resulting in his nephew turning to the Dark Side and the destruction of Luke's own nascent Jedi Order. He also failed Grogu, giving him a this or that choice between continuing his Jedi training or returning to Din Djarin and in doing so drove away a promising pupil. He exiled himself to Ach-To and intended to die there, ending the Jedi forever, all out of his self-pity and arrogance costing him so much
Thankfully, we have Rey to carry on the Skywalker legacy and the torch of the Jedi's light to bring hope for the galaxy. I'd like to think Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, Jacen, and perhaps even Cal Kestis and maybe even Asajj Ventress, will fulfill roles in bringing hope for the future of the Jedi and the universe

I think the Jedi order adapted to the times. Through the Sith wars such a need was necessary. What is more telling is not the Jedi Lords who gave up their roles but to the Jedi who refused them when their actions over the century were nothing but keeping the galaxy safe and were willing to give up their power and heritage nevertheless. Did Jedi Lords need to go? absolutely yes, because the high council and grand council would have come to discourse eventually and as you said splinter the Jedi order.

The galaxy would be a far better place if more planets had a benevolent Jedi Lord in control. Remember what Shmi Skywalker said in TPM? "The Republic doesn't exist out here." A Jedi Lord would be able to do something about slavery and injustice being there in person, whereas any support gets held by the bureaucracy in the Senate.

I think the Jedi Lords represent the most practical and powerful version of the Jedi. As long as they remained wise and ruled righteously then they were the best Jedi. I agree that the two orders should have worked together. If a Jedi wants to create a family and serve a planet and the galaxy, or if a Jedi wants to be a galactic force wielding monk cop, than that's fine too, lol.

I think there is more information needing to be shared on this yet beforfe i can blatatnly share my own opinion of the jedi lords and the "morality of having jedi leaders of any one region, let alone any one faction. the jedi lords being respected by even a sith emporer, while fantastic in theory might be nice to consider, however it is how each of these jedi lords themselves would react and choose to act in each and every given situation during times of both light and dark, in their respective roles, that is far more important to me than the over all outcome since part of being any sort of role in any sort of light or dark, is more about how you behave more than how other see you. the reverence and acceptance of a stih lord while respectable isnt exactly saying much of you as it is of how they themselves would like to percieve you. and that in my mind is something drastic to consider.

If a Jedi is dually CHOSEN by a faction or population and/or due to Fate, said elections, etc... a Jedi can probably come into a job/ "duty" of a Governorship/Ruler of a Planet, System, Etc. If the original Jedi could make it work just fine the Clone Wars Era an those in between them all got NO excuses for not being able to do the same.. if they're NOT wanting it and/or got serious reservations about taking such a role that even better. It's often those that DONT want a rulership of something that very often, ironically, happen to ALSO its typically discovered to be MOST suited to it. Especially, for all they know, the Force may even WANTED a Jedi ruling a world or whole system, etc an for a good reason. It's not any kinda positions fault the Jedi got way too dogmatic that they couldn't do all kinds of things normal beings do all the time... like good Rulers, Generals, an Soldiers..

Have to say that I think the jedi lords are innovative way for the Jedi to not only continue to serve the force, but the people of and the galaxy as well in a time of darkness and chaos. Particularly those parts of the galaxy and sectors generally abandoned or left to rot by the republic. Giving them good governance, protection and rulership, enabling them to thrive and flourish under the rule of the jedi lords and avoid the tyranny of the brotherhood of darkness. Plus it would be those lords and their armies, who would prove the different at Ruusan and end the new sith wars once and for all..

The hole Skywalker saga is proof that Jedi Lord and the philosophie to only help your people does not work. Anakin also just wanted to protect his people. In his case his people were padme and his unborn child, for them you have to add a hole planet on top of this. That leaves a lot of people that they are ready to sacrifice.

I think the Jedi Order's High Council should have tried to integrate with the Grand Council. The Jedi Lords were once part of the order and had kept most of the views and most of the teachings of the Jedi Order with notable exceptions. However, since they were at each planet and system, they were able to better fulfill the mandate of the Jedi Order. And the Jedi Lords also made a point to train their offspring to be Jedi first before handing them their mantles. This would instill that humility and understanding of them serving the people as their guardians and their leaders. And with these teachings being passed down and a deeper connection to their planet's people they could respond and coordinate with others for crisis that would pop up. Be it pirates or the Sith, and since the Jedi Lords had vested interest in seeing not only their worlds wellbeing and to the galaxy; they were also less likely to go to war with one another. And the Grand Council would have been one such place to address issues between Jedi Lords before it leading to war. And the Jedi Order's High Council would have been able to aid in the mediation as well with them being the neutral party and being another go-between should it be necessary. In addition, the Jedi Order could have temples placed on some of these worlds if they didn't have one already and have the presence within the galaxy, they "perceived" to have. While this might not have sat well with Republic, this would have also helped to stamp out corruption and added another incentive to the Jedi Lords to keep to their teachings and ensure stability.
But since the Jedi Order basically demanded they give up their power, and the Jedi Lords did willingly for the most part this demonstrated they were true Jedi through and through. And the Jedi who sneered and looked up the Jedi Lords with disgust within the Jedi Order, they are without a doubt to me failures and cannot be called Jedi. To not only wield that power, but still do what was asked and willingly give it up demonstrated character and the depth of those teachings. For those who retained their places and power, honestly can't say I disagree. Given how the Republic seemed to have dropped the ball multiple times and with the force they could sense what might be coming down the line they still were a better option as rulers. And while some might say they were being a bit greedy; they did also have families that they wanted to go back to as well. Which makes the Jedi Lords who gave it all up to return to the Jedi Order even more validated as true Jedi over the "pretenders" that called themselves Jedi in the order. Think even Palpatine would have been grateful he didn't have to contend with these Jedi, they would be a caliber well above anything he's contending with at his current era. Yoda being the closest to that metric, but even then, I would argue he would have been slapped around by some of these Jedi Lords for a bit. Pretty sure Dooku would have emulated their teachings and system with his own home world had he studied these Jedi Lords and how they interacted with each other and the Republic.

I think they for sure still had some flaws, but on the whole i think they were better and more true to the ancient jeh' di and even luke skywalkers reorganized jedi than the clone wars era jedi and jedi council, they had just as much care and empathy for the problems of the galaxy but wisely decided to specialize and narrow their focus on improving ehatever world they were on or in charge of for generations instead of flitting about from one place to another constantly, over throwing tyrant rulers but then not doing anything to replace them with somone good and just allowed another tyrant to rise up less than a generation later, the clonewars era jedi were spread too thin, their focus to disapated and thats exactly what led to their downfall, all they could really manage to do besides fixing aurface level issues with a quick band aid then leaving the deep wound underneath to fester, and even when they knew what to do tney had to get approval from the senate for every little single minute action, bogging down the process tremendouslys with beuaricratic red tape leaving them slow to react to problems and very easily manuevered around by politics and politicians. That was one of their most glaring and easily exploited weaknesses and thats why the sith evolved to become politicians and banking officials to influence and manipulate the political machine of the galaxy and republic. Im not too sure about the green jedi or the grey paladins but the jedi lords seem far superior to the clone wars end of the republic era jedi. Also i definitely agree Wave should do a video on the grey paladins and green jedi, i knew a tiny bit about them but had no idea they lasted up to the clone wars and great jedi purge id like to know the other difference between them and the core jedi hierachy and their pros and cons respectively

I think Palpatine was two thirds right Jedi Lords and leaders were good ideas but then a lot more safe guards for the people both fellow Jedi and normal people. The Jedi Lords biggest problem was that their was in someways no one who truly stand up to them not even High Council could stop them also it is even further evidance that show that the Jedi rules of no families were far outdated should have changed after the Jedi Civil War and why being completely servent to a government stupid idea for main body.

A Jedi who became a Jedi Lord should to both the Order as whole and to their “throne” while not so much to the Republic. In a way Darth Plagueis agrees with my point for point out the Jedi carried out the Republic’s business as if were the business of the Force. If the Jedi Lord council did went on it should serive as more a vice-high council to help keep the high council in check and the two council each have one respective that are respected of each side.

In someways did great harm to both Jedi Lords/Ladies and Order by not soothing the High Council’s worries and maybe being too blunt. The fallowing changes were at best mixed bag in the long run yes Jedi need to get there footing back but not going taking one step forward and two back.

I think it might have been better for the Jedi had the High Council had disbanded after the New Sith Wars. I think it should have been reformed with a collection of Standard Jedi, and Jedi Lords. The two mindsets would have clashed, but it would have served better, because the order would have been whole, and the ideas of the Jedi Lords might have grounded the post-Ruusan order. It sounds like the proper Jedi Order never took responsibility for Kahn's fall, and as a result alienated the Republic and Senate, and set in motion the changes to the order that would make the Sith rise a millennium later a certainty.
