What a LOVELY SURPRISE! i had mentally prepared to not hang out with my fave UA-camr for a couple of weeks...what a treat to have coffee with u this morning! ;) Thanks Mrs. Sowards! ❤Happy Thursday everyone! LETS BE GRATEFUL FOR TODAY 😊
I had this recorded and scheduled before deciding I needed to take off ♥️ there’s one more than will be out early next week about refreshing containers.
I love that you recorded a few videos. Am I the only one who is having marathons of roots and refuge? I'm watching in my bedroom TV and a different account on my phone all the time. I'm sure that isn't how the algorithm works but I'm doing everything I can to help this wonderful woman who has helped me so much
I got my first greenstalks 3 years ago after seeing them on your channel. I realized how much I loved gardening and now I have three of them and 10 garden beds and chickens 😊
I have 35 acres in the Rocky Mountains so I have plenty of “land” but when you factor in rocky soil, voles, rabbits, deer, and moose pressure-Green Stalks have been an amazing solution to growing stuff for us. Love them and my neighbors have now jumped on board. Thanks Jess!
I received my first Greenstalk about 4 months ago and planted it with crops I have found difficult to protect from rolypolys (sow bugs, woodlice). The lettuce and arugula have thrived and yesterday I pulled the first carrot knowing it was immature but since it was crowded I decided it was just "late thinning". OMG, it was 10" long! I've never grown a carrot longer than 6" in the ground! I'm sold. 💚

You are not the only one actually. We are a whole lot of peeps that are warching marathons❤ I started a playlist but i think ima go start again from the beggining.
greenstalks are so much more versatile than people realize I think. I've got blueberries in my original, one per tier with things like phlox and lemon balm in the other slots, and lots of greens and herbs in the leaf planter. I am getting a new one to make into a perennial pepper greenstalk, and I got a three tier original for my grandma to put on her table for her strawberries and green beans since she cant bend over nowadays. greenstalks are awesome! gonna go get one of those pink ones now!
I love the Greenstalk. Last year we got hit by high winds gulf ball size hail it did 70,000 in damage to our house. Threw the greenstalks all over and I put them back together not a scratch on them. Very good quality! I will always have them worth every penny.
I love my greenstalk I have had mine 5yrs. I got mine because of you Jess I have 3 total, I love mine. They never fade never break never fail they are the best!
Love my greenstalk!! The owners take so much care when sending their product, down to the stickers, seeds and little card introducing you to the person who packed your order!! ❤️❤️
At first I was not having good luck with my greenstalks. I live in dry, dry Albuquerque and it finally hit me that, in this climate, I need to water the pockets, sometimes even twice a day. Starting last year, they have been great! Last year we grew herbs and super hot peppers.
Good morning, and thank you so much for this wonderful surprise. Like so many, I had braced myself for a couple of weeks without new videos from my favorite channel. That being, the mother bear in me activated and hoped that this was a video you prerecorded and that you are still taking time for you and your family plus getting some much deserved rest. Thank you for all the time you share with us. Blessings.
Once upon a time, dear Jess told us about her favorite tool, the Hori Hori. It has actually grown and affixed itself to my hand, extended my limb! I’m so thankful you shared.
I have Shishito and jalapeño peppers, herbs, strawberries leaf lettuce and spinach in mine. I love both of mine. I live in Oklahoma where we get high winds all the time and we've never had a problem with them tipping over.
Regarding containers - I have a small backyard and have 7 raised beds and Many containers. I live in Texas - HOT and windy lots of the time. Watering is crucial here. I use a moisture meter for every bed and container. I find it's a necessary tool. Sometimes I have to water containers twice a day. I really recommend one.
I got one of the pink ones as a gift, it is my absolute favorite color. I ordered some white Carolina pineberry bare roots to put in. ( they look like a strawberry, but are white with pink seeds) I can't wait to see them against the pink planter. I didn't have enough to fill every pocket, so I did every other and put Alexandria in the rest of the pockets.
In my case, at 70 I am slowing down. I have gardened regularly for years until last year. I had a heart attack in Dec 22 and was not able to do anything last spring. I am much stronger this year, but not as much as I was. I had given up the idea of gardening but I am going to get one of these. I am excited to think about all the things I can grow! Your recommendation as to the durability in the sun was the deciding factor. I am in Mobile County AL and our sun destroys plastic. I have never had anything last more than a couple of years. Looking forward to getting my first Greenstalk! Thanks for the review.
Hope your trip with Asher if going well and you are enjoying the break. I am so excited that e have resellers in Canada that sell greenstalk now. I am going to try and work it into my garden budget for next year!
The mere fact you can review something like this 6 years on is a positive vote right off! I have never had a planter last more than a year or two before disinigrating! I fell down the stairs onto a 2 years on 5 gallon bucket and had to go to the ER to get shattered plastic extricated from my arms and ribs....
I found Greenstalk through Jess. I have quite a few. The company/family has excellent customer service. I have tried growing about everything Greenstalk suggests. The bunnies can't get to my green beans when they're in Greenstalks.
I received my first greenstalk a little over a week ago. Used your code because I vowed when I got my first one I'd use your code but......ITS PINK AHHHH. I got the pink one. I love it so much!
My Great aunt showed me back in the early 80's how she made a tea to water and feed her plants inside and put. She used our composted and fresh rabbit droppings. We had open bottom cages. I do A shovel or forkful in a 5 gal. bucket with water stir daily.
I have struggled for the last three years growing well in Greenstalks. This year, I am starting again this year with new soil and tried to follow the directions exactly and so I am hopeful.
Just remember to fertilize it. I just used Miracle Gro on mine and the stalk that got the most attention did great. I did end up getting a watering can with a small nozzle to water the individual pockets
NICE surprise, Sunshine! :) Didn't think we would see you for a bit. My GreenStalk story: I've followed you for a long time now, buying my GreenStalks back when you were at the other place, with your discount :) First year was a learning curve. I have 3 now - and absolutely love them. Its the only place I can successfully grow carrots here. Beet greens- out of reach from critters & dirt. I love mixing herbs, Tom Thumb peas & flowers- Alyssum, fragrant petunias, nasturtiums. My starter soil was a loose potting soil. Fertilizer: I do use worm castings but also comfrey tea has worked well. For the level surface (mine are right in the garden) I bought a patio square from Home Depot for each- works great. Here in the northland, I've discovered you have to un-layer the strawberries & cover with leaves to have them survive due to our harsh winters, or the roots freeze. This year success. Yes, love having strawberries through the season. Love that these are well made, food safe and best of all American made. Here's to a new successful growing season. PS love your t-shirt. Is that one of yours? Best.
I needed the excuse to get the pink basket weave planter for the kids' strawberries in their garden. THANK YOU and I hope you are enjoying your rest. ♥
This is exciting. I haven't taken a lot of time to go back and watch many episodes that I missed throughout the years. I hope our support helps. Your Jessica. You inspire me.
I love mine, purchased from your recommendation during the pandemic. Actually, my now late husband bought it for my Mother’s Day that year and my strawberries are still going strong enough that my toddler granddaughter could always find a berry when she could visit. The fact that it was a present from him makes it extra special, but I’m considering two more on sale!
Thanks Jess! I have one and I need to get better with it. I struggle a little but maybe it’s because I start from seed. Definitely need to feed it more. I also bought two basket weave when they came out for in front of our future green house. Hope you are getting some respite!
Thank you Jess! I bought my first Greenstalks last year after watching you (and the big discounts were helpful too!) and am so pleased with them. Of course, living in Knoxville and supporting a local company is high priority too. :)
I ordered one for my sister in law who got me started gardening a year and a half ago. I then ordered myself two more and will now have a total of 5. Wooohoooo so excited to get them.
I just planted out one of my original Greenstalks with strawberries! I decided I needed more strawberries in my life. 😄 Going to get another one because I love growing green beans in the original (2 per pocket) and I want TWO Greenstalks full of beans this year! My Leaf is for greens, herbs, and random things I decide on last minute. I will be honest and say that I've NEVER gotten the watering system to work flawlessly and need to water the pockets individually to be sure everything is getting enough. The holes always get clogged. (I mean, really, it only takes one small piece of wood or perlite! lol) But I still love the product and only buy them on sale like this!
Yes! Me too! I was thinking of widening those holes in the gray disks. I found my bottom tier dry as a bone and standing water in the disk above. I have 4 or 5 green stalks at this point so it seems a worthwhile problem to solve.
I already have 12 GreenStalks, but I was on their site ordering 3 more (in pink!) by 8:30 am. when the sale started!! I probably will go back for a 4th by this afternoon! I planted all of them in bare root strawberries this year. All of my planters are holding up longer than my entire 50'×70' raised bed garden.
@Kte154 This year, I planted 350 new bare root strawberries in the 12 towers. Last year, I used 1 for peppers and the rest of them for strawberries, herbs, and lettuces. (Unfortunately, only a few of the strawberries survived our last winter.) I'll either plant herbs or even more strawberries in the 4 newest planters I just ordered. I'd like to get a few new planters next year to dedicate to flowers. Happy gardening!!
I bought my first GreenStalk 5 years ago. It has lasted 5 years in full Las Vegas sun and still looks brand new. I love it so much I bought 3 more. Well worth the money!
My first year with Greenstalks was last year. I just used some decent potting soil but had a hard time keeping it moist, so....I took all the soil out and amended it with coconut coir, along with other soil amendments ie minerals, fish meal etc. So we will see how I do this year. I have noticed that water can gush out the bottom pretty good even when the top is not completely filled like they recommend. Great to hear a recap on this beautiful garden accessory. Thanks Jess!
I live in Canada and went to see how much it was to purchase a greenstalk. The greenstalk is very very affordable, it was the shipping (the same price as the greenstalk) that made it cost prohibitive. I know the company has nothing to do with shipping prices, but it is something us Canadians have to take into an account. I will watch everyone else enjoy their greenstalks.
I have three greenstalks. Strawberries are my favorite thing to plant in them. I hope you are getting your rest and enjoying your family time. I bless you.
You introduced me to greenstalks. I'm on year 4 with mine. I became disabled, and if it weren't for these I wouldn't be able to grow. I grow bush beans, carrots, turnips, herbs, salad greens and many other things in mine. I've referred so many other people to them, 3 of my close friends and relatives are now using them. I learned from you the best way to set them up, the soil, and how to manage them. Thanks Jess!
Up here (Canada) I had very good results with transparent plastic bags during winter, on Greenstalks. At least 4 weeks extended season in the spring, and also, the soil does not get aquaphobic during winter. (Not for lack of precipitations, but for quick drying because of strong winds).
This is our first year for our garden and we bought 3 greenstalks to add to the garden for leafy greens, herbs and strawberries and so far I really love them! Soooo many plants in such a small space haha I definitely didn’t even think about fertilizing 🤦🏽♀️ glad I saw this early in the season lol thanks for the tips ! 💚
I have been using the GreenStalk for about 4 years. I use them for the same reasons pest wise. That said, lately the squirrels have decided to 'play' in the dirt. Why after all this time, I am not sure. Now, I use 1 support (sold by GreenStalk) per GreenStalk container with the insect cover (sold by GreenStalk) on each of them. Not only does it act as a green house for me and protect my baby plants from the wind, but it keeps those pesky squirrels out!!! I also plant ALL of my peppers in them and now they too are slug and dirt free. LOVE LOVE the GreenStalk and finding multiple uses for them every year!! I first learned about them by watching you Jess. Thank you! Kim (in Auburn NY)
Jess thank you for introducing us to this product and for arranging a discount for everyone. When you first recommended them in 2017 I bought one because my home sits on a postage-stamp size concrete yard. Everything I grow is in pots and elevated planters. I LOVED my GREENSTALK so much I now have 7 of them and am purchasing 2 more! They give me much more growing space in a tiny footprint. I grow Loads of strawberries, a multitude of herbs, flowers; this year I’m trying onions and shallots. Quality, durability, reliability in a US made product from a friendly, honest family…you can’t ask for more! And it all started because you shared it with us, Jess. Thank you.
I bought my first Greenstalk after seeing you recommend it three years ago. I have since purchased more because they work! Three family members have purchased Greenstalk after seeing how well mine worked and the amount of food that can be grown. I agree with growing strawberries and salad greens. I sowed beet seeds last year just for the greens. As always, thank you Jess for sharing great gardening content in an effort to help others. That pink one is calling my name! 😊 God bless
Thanks for reminding me this was a thing! I got my Mom a Greenstalk for Christmas, and she just decided to grow some mini tomatoes in it. So, for Mothers Day I got her the plant support accessory!
Hey Jess! I got my first 2 GreenStalks right after I saw yours when you still lived in Arkansas. Two years later I bought a 3rd one because I loved them so much. I plant green beans in all 3 of mine. We love fresh green beans and my 3 GreenStalks keep me supplied all summer long! I did have one of mine turn over once. The guy that mows my yard (he has a big SKAG mower) bumped one of them with the mower and it fell over. The green beans I'd planted in it had just started setting on little green beans. I was pretty upset but I know he didn't mean to knock it over, and he apologized several times. Other than that, strong wind has never blown them over.
I'm seeing a bunch of channels touting the Greenstalks lately. I'm so glad to see it, too, because I love them! Supporting a family run business that has Made in USA products means a lot to me. I just put in an order for my 5th. I plan to order every time they offer a new color. :)
Hey Jess! Love me some Green Stalk planters. Because of you I found a great product in a place in my sunny yard that allows me to expand my garden capacity. Bought three 7 tier units and now grow all my salad greens and strawberries there as well have wild rabbit’s galore and this stops them eating all my stuff! Thank you for supporting Greenstalk - a worthy product. Much love Nana Kelli
Thanks for the Green Stalk info. Would be perfect for my son in a wheelchair so he can enjoy the gardening experience with me. Hope your time away has been enjoyable. I’ve been watching old videos of your Arkansas garden! Fun to watch how your sweet family has grown up. 👨🌾🍅❤️
I LOVE that your not constantly trying to sell us stuff like most other youtubers do when they have a large audiance. That being said, I love to support your channel in other ways: merch, coffee, view time etc. One day ill be getting a greenstalk too when it fits in the budget! hahaha 😊
I got a couple greenstalks before Jess, fell in love with them, and have been pestering her to do reviews... :) Mind you, shipping to Canada is another greenstalk :)
My GreenStalks are the most prolific growers. I absolutely love them. Right now, one is filled with peas, the other with a variety of greens including the most beautiful cabbages!!!! I'll turn them over with bush beans and all the "leftover" seedlings that didn't make it into containers or the ground. It's a wonderful resource for gardeners of all ages and experience. Thanks Jess!
I have 5 greenstalks, love, love them! The base spinner is a wonderful game changer. I am growing onions, green beans, tons of herbs and medicinal herbs and of course strawberries ❤❤❤❤
I absolutely love my Greenstalks and never would have known about them if it weren’t for R & R! ❤ Fellow gardeners scoffed at me, but are now coming around when they see how many years they’ve given me produce year round (yes overwintered herbs, greens and strawberries in 6a NJ). 😊
I purchased my first greenstalk this year and love it. We used to have a produce farm with acres of strawberries , sweet corn and other veggies including bee hives and honey. I miss the strawberries so I planted some in my greens stalk.
We love our Greenstalk! And the only reason I knew they existed is because of you! ❤ I've overwintered Tobago peppers in mine for a couple seasons now, and I'd never be able to do that without mine. (We're in MN) I've grown everything from Moringa to cucumbers to calendula and tomatoes. Thank you for your wisdom, Jess! Love the new pink one. My 10 yr old daughter would swoon over that. 😊
Good Morning! Yay!! Its so good to see you, although I have to be honest...I'm one of MANY who have been binge watching your past videos. So its not like I miss you or anything😂 But in a totally good way 😂❤ I cant wait to see the refresh video but more than that my hope for you is that you are soaking in these precious days without pressure or stress! See you soon🌻
I just got my first Greenstalk after purchasing "knock off" last year. Downside of being your northern cousin is GS does not ship to Canada. I did find Indoor Farmer ( Waterloo, ON) that carries it - so I took the plunge! I'm so excited to get my strawberries in it.
I just bought mine! Thank you for the discount! ❤ I've been wanting one for years now and always waited too late (sold out) or never had the funds. This year I'm buying my own mothers day present 😁 I'd love to have 2
This was a nice surprise Jess ❤️ I’m attempting to buy 2 of the 5 tier. When I go to check out I get a blank screen. I think you’ve done such an excellent job of sharing Greenstalk that their website has exploded 🤯. I will attempt to checkout a little later. Enjoy your well deserved rest❤️
We just ordered our first greenstalk and setting it up this weekend!! Thank you so much for the wonderful tips using it!! God bless you and your family always!! Your garden is amazing and beautiful!! We are doing all container gardening this year! Much love from SC❤️🙏🙌
I was so happy to see you posted today😊 Sitting here with my coffee and wondering if summer will be here this year. We are not generally in the 30’s nor snowing, but it is. So what better to do than be encouraged in gardening and ordering Green Stalks? I ordered 2 and used the discount, Thank you so much!!!❤ I am so excited to try, this is my 1st time ordering.
I planted in my Greenstalk for the first time. I got mine at the end of last growing season. I didn't like the height of the 5 tier so I ordered the items to make it into 2 three tier Greenstalks and I just love them. I plan on getting more before the 2025 season. I have filled it with many different things just so I can learn about how the plants will grow. Everything looks great so far. I had the cherry blossom in my cart but forgot to order during the sale. I could have kicked myself but I will pay to make gardening easier because as I get older it's just easier and I don't want to give it up.
What a LOVELY SURPRISE! i had mentally prepared to not hang out with my fave UA-camr for a couple of weeks...what a treat to have coffee with u this morning! ;) Thanks Mrs. Sowards! ❤Happy Thursday everyone! LETS BE GRATEFUL FOR TODAY 😊

@RootsandRefugeFarm enjoy your time off Jess. This prerecorded video has given me my Roots and Refuge fix. As well as your friends video too.😊
Same :)
Ditto❤️

I LOVE my Greenstalk for strawberries!!!! I was skeptical at first, but I have no pest issues like I have in my raised beds. Great product!
Oh! I want a cherry blossom greenstalk for strawberries! I bet once they fruit that will be so beautiful!
Can you imagine with the pink flower strawberries??? A DREAM!!
@@lifeoutnumbered I sent it to my husband! I must have it!!!

We have fresh lettuce with our green stalk for salad, so clean! In Nevada!
I received my first greenstalk a little over a week ago. Used your code because I vowed when I got my first one I'd use your code but......ITS PINK AHHHH. I got the pink one. I love it so much!
I’ve bought 7 greenstalks over a few seasons!! It’s been so helpful with my limited space for garden beds.
Ive been playing old videos all day long since your last one. Glad to see you and I hope your doing well.

Yes!
12! What do you grow in them?
@Kte154 This year, I planted 350 new bare root strawberries in the 12 towers. Last year, I used 1 for peppers and the rest of them for strawberries, herbs, and lettuces. (Unfortunately, only a few of the strawberries survived our last winter.) I'll either plant herbs or even more strawberries in the 4 newest planters I just ordered. I'd like to get a few new planters next year to dedicate to flowers. Happy gardening!!
Great video. Just what I needed.. I haven’t been particularly successful with my green stalk, so now I know I wasn’t fertilizing enough.
Ordered my first green stalk today! LOVE the pink 🩷 Thanks for the heads up on the sale and the code!
Indoor Farmer in Ontario mails them to Canadian
Soooo many plants in such a small space haha
I definitely didn’t even think about fertilizing 🤦🏽♀️ glad I saw this early in the season lol thanks for the tips ! 💚
I have my first green stalks from all the times I've seen you use them and love them.
Omg Yay!!! Ive been wanting to have one to grow greens over the summer on my screened in porch!!
I love mine and it’s amazing how many different things you can grow!
I got mine a couple of years ago, at your recommendation. I love it 🥰
Hello Jess. I have 4 greenstalks and i agree they are wonderful
😊 God bless
I just ordered the pink one! I'm sooo excited! I really wanted this. Thank you.
I got a greenstalk last year and love it. Just ordered one for my mom for Mother's Day.
I adore mine. Though I have never had your success with strawberries 😂
Growing in a leaf for the first time this year!❤
Thanks for reminding me this was a thing!
Hi Jess! Hope you are enjoying your time away from blogging! Hope everything runs smoothly and you enjoy all the festivities 🤠
That pink one with strawberries in it ❤️❤️❤️.
Thanks for the Green Stalk info. Would be perfect for my son in a wheelchair so he can enjoy the gardening experience with me. Hope your time away has been enjoyable. I’ve been watching old videos of your Arkansas garden! Fun to watch how your sweet family has grown up. 👨🌾🍅❤️
Thank you Jess! Have been wanting one of these and I just ordered one using your code. It will house my strawberries :) Have a beautiful day.
I just purchased my 3rd one!! I LOVE my greenstalk!
*GOD BLESS YOU ALL GOOD AFTERNOON JÉSSICA 🇧🇷🇺🇸*
So thrilled to see you while you are taking care of yourself! Hope you are getting much needed rest and spending time with your boys. 😊
Oh how happy seeing those stone frogs made my heart this morning 🥰
Just went and ordered the Cherry Blossom!!! Take care of yourself and recharge Jess, we're all here for you and this channel!!
I've overwintered Tobago peppers in mine for a couple seasons now, and I'd never be able to do that without mine. (We're in MN) I've grown everything from Moringa to cucumbers to calendula and tomatoes. Thank you for your wisdom, Jess! Love the new pink one. My 10 yr old daughter would swoon over that. 😊
These make the best Mothers Day gifts💖💖
I love, love, love my greenstalk gardens. They have served is very well for many years.
Got my greenstalk because of you!!
Thank you Jess for this wonderful surprise video! God bless!❤❤❤❤
I've been wanting one for years now and always waited too late (sold out) or never had the funds. This year I'm buying my own mothers day present 😁
I'd love to have 2
This was a nice surprise Jess ❤️
I’m attempting to buy 2 of the 5 tier. When I go to check out I get a blank screen. I think you’ve done such an excellent job of sharing Greenstalk that their website has exploded 🤯. I will attempt to checkout a little later.
Enjoy your well deserved rest❤️
Lovely to see and hear from you! I am only doing container gardening this year, so this review is much appreciated!
Ordered! Thank you for the tutorial and discount code. Hope your enjoying your time with the boys 💙
We just ordered our first greenstalk and setting it up this weekend!! Thank you so much for the wonderful tips using it!! God bless you and your family always!! Your garden is amazing and beautiful!! We are doing all container gardening this year! Much love from SC❤️🙏🙌
Thanks for the infomercial, Jess. :) Very informative. Now, GET BACK TO YOUR VACATION!!! See you in a couple of weeks. Blessings.
Agreed they really are a great product.❤
I love my greenstalk! So nice of you to make sure you reminded us while you’re on a YT vacation. ❤
I've been impatiently waiting for this sale! Thank you for all of the useful information. ❤
Thanks!
